We found our boat at the boat show in June 2022. We had a different boat on order but when we seen this Clearwater 2400 we couldnt cancel the other fast enough.Boats are a very high demand and I just knew we would probably have to wait months to get it.Champion Marine came through for us. We only had to wait a few weeks. They installed all the electronics for us. We upgraded our motor which was not in stock anywhere but Champion Marine found one.Our dealings was with David, Doug GM and Krista. They were all very helpful and I know each one if them worked their butt off to get us on the water ASAP.I highly recommend Champion Marine!

I was in the market for a new boat recently and I stopped in to this particular dealer. What caught my attention was that they actually had a nice selection of inventory and thats unusual these days. Most of the time the sale people are only interested in a quick sale but Matt spent a lot of time with me and was not pushy or detached like a lot of the salesmen are when you dont look like youre ready to pull the trigger right away. My wife and I highly recommend Champion Marine. We purchased a 2022 Clearwater 2000 CC. We want to express our gratitude to David, Krista, Dave (the owner) and the rest of the Champion Marine staff. We ran into some issues, (not caused by them), but they handled it professionally and resolved it. In fact, the Clearwater factory was having “issues” delivering the boat to Florida and Dave, who is the owner of Champion, drove up to Georgia and personally picked up my boat.We felt that Champion was always honest and forthcoming with us. It was obvious they value our business. I had called another dealer before calling Champion Marine. They had given me the impression that they, neither had the time, nor desire to entertain the idea of selling me a boat. They acted as if they were doing me a favor! This definitely was not the case with Champion.David (salesperson) and Krista really spent time explaining everything to us, making sure to find solutions to the issues that would occasionally arise. A lot of dealers will stop taking care of you once you have signed on the dotted line! This is by far not the case with Champion. We noticed that the Clearwater factory did not include some of the previous options that we opted to have installed on the boat. I informed Champion and they immediately set aside the time needed to resolve the issue. In fact they are taking care of it as I write this review. They went above and beyond to make sure that we were completely satisfied. This is our first, brand new boat that we have purchased and Dave, along with the Champion Marine staff, could not have made this a most pleasant experience! Thanks Champion Marine!

Wanted $1000 deposit for a sea trial of a used, $24,900 boat. Also was told that they really would rather you fill out all the paperwork to buy the boat, give $1000 deposit, and then they would let you do a sea trial. If you arent satisfied with the boat after the trial, then they would let you out of the deal - Ill hold my breath on that one. When I said I dont think I want to do that, the person on the phone just hung up (no sorry but thats our policy, lets see what we can do, nothing!). Also they were asking $24,900 for the same boat earlier this week on CL that they are now asking $25,900 for. I guess if you dont sell a boat, you go up in price and maybe someone will buy it. Buyers beware!!!

Met David (Owner of Champion Marine) at the Tampa Boat show recently. I instantly hit if off with him. I loved the fact he was a Native of Pinellas County even a Clearwater High alumni. Thats rare these days with FL being such a transient state! He gave my family a GREAT deal on a 2021 16 1/2 FT Cape Craft! We fell in love with the boat! It took some time to get approved even thought we had great credit, but that was no fault of Champion. Lender told us they had 70+ apps on their desk. With Covid 19 recreational loans were out of control! Davids communication was 2nd to none! He kept me in the loop on the production of our boat at all times. Never made me feel like I was a bother! I eventually met his whole team. What a great group! Extremely friendly and knowledgeable. What more can I say...we finally got to take this beauty home yesterday. But not before Davids team took us out in the water for a test run and orientation of our boat! I plan on bringing the boat back to Champion Marine for all services in the future and when its time to upgrade...Champion Marine will be our go to! We came across Champion Marine at the Tampa boat show in October 2019. I had been shopping for about a year prior but had not found anything that fit my budget and wants up until this point. Dave spent a good deal of time going over the Clearwater product and we found that the Clearwater 2000 fit everything we were looking for. We took delivery early February and are very happy with the end result. We were able to add some really nice upgrades including the motor and still keep the Boat within our budget. Over the course of the purchase process its clear that this dealership is growing and adding staff to meet their customers needs and its nice to see that they care about the overall experience and are working to continually improve. This dealership is very nice to deal with overall, they are transparent with the financials and they do not tack on unnecessary fees like a lot of the recreational dealers do. The financing process was smooth and the company they deal with was very competitive with their rates when compared to others in the market including the local credit unions. As they continue to grow I fully expect that the will only get better making them a great dealer in the area. After the purchase they have followed up multiple times to ensure that everything has gone smooth and to ensure that our expectations have been met.Overall, it was worth the wait to get the exact boat we wanted and I am confident that the after purchase service with them is going to be pleasant. Good...nice looking boats. And fair pricing on someCons....Called this business a month ago about a used open console fishing boat and was told information from a helpful sales associate. I asked how I were to pay for it if I decided to use my own finance and write a check. Sales associate asked the owner while I was on the phone who I would pay and I hear him agitated in the back ground saying *who the F-word wants to know?* but saying the actual word.I feel bad for sales associate because he seemed very nice and knowledgeable about the boat but if owner is speaking to his employees in that method about me a customer, I would haveto think about spending my money there. My wifes research about champion owner confirmed my feelings.

Arrived to purchase a used Sea Hunt that was on hold for us. Was supposed to be in excellent condition. Total joke. Boat trashed.we told them not interested in the boat at any price.They responded we made a offer this is a total lie.No offer was ever made as they responded. The Boat looked fair on the outside but inside the hull was filthy trashed..

Champion Marine is the best dealer in town. Dont look any further! Ive made a few mistakes in the past but I didnt regret buying from them. They exceeded everything we were looking for. David (owner) treated us like family and was able to meet every one of our needs. The boat is inmaculate and the price unbeatable.

Noticed on the website they have the boat I want and it’s available. So we load up and drive 2 hours to Clearwater so I can purchase said boat. Needless to say the boats that are on the website are not what they have in stock. Must be hard to delete them from the website. Instead mislead people into thinking they have something that they do not.

This boat dealership and especially the owner have a HORRIBLE reputation, he had to close down a dealership in Holiday due to his unethical sales practices..same issue when he used to sell used cars....I went to the boat show..he has high turnover in his office due to his abrasive nature...every time I called there was a new from desk girl or salesperson...I ordered a Clearwater boat...the owner ordered the wrong motor then blamed me for his incompetence when I sent him a copy of the invoice that HE WROTE and signed showing he was wrong. I was promised the boat would be built in 6 weeks..I got it 4 months later...when I got the boat.he never registered it until 2 months after...it had holes in the fiberglass thru hull/bilge (see photos), the live well plumbing was ever even hooked up and the line was destroyed..it was wired incorrectly where all wires had 12 volts and none were grounded which fried my electronics/gauges...the owner of Clearwater Boats had to get involved to resolve it because the owner is absolutely incompetent and unorganized. Then the owner went into a local restaurant without knowing the owners are like family to me and began to bad mouth me (a customer) for no reason at all to the owners...well they told me about this....DO NOT BUY A BOAT FROM THIS DEALERSHIP....they are crooks and they have no clue how to setup a boat...Ive had the boat now since October...ive been able to use it 5 times because of their faulty wiring and overall poor installation....it has been in the shop more than on the water...DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALER OR BLIEVE HIS FAKE REVIEWS FROM HIS FRIENDS THAT WROTE THEM.. The owner was contacted numerous times to repair these items and he fought me for months...his mechanic attempted to repair items and wired EVERY wire to 12 volts which with no ground was a safety issue....so the CEO of the boat manufacturer was kind enough to allow me to have a private mechanic handle the issues due to the owner not being cooperative. I paid for this brand new boat in full and the owner actually tried to get me to pay for the warranty repair replacement parts after his mechanic worked on the boat and screwed it up even further. The owner has never proactively reached out to me...he only ever responded after I called his office numerous times or called the CEO of the boat manufacturer ...to this day I still have no paperwork on my boat as he has refused to provide me with warranty information.
