Took my Subaru Outback in at 1000 Tierra Del Rey off H Street in Chula VistaCa. for maintenance . The front desk service writer LIZ was very professional in customer service in getting my Subaru checked in. She explained to me about the work that was going to be done. The other front desk service advisors were also showing great customer service. I picked up my Subaru later and my Subaru felt better driving thanks to the mechanic that work on my Subaru. I request that the regional manager of this Pep Boys be notified and visit the Pep Boys store to let them know they deserve a 5-star grade for their workmanship and customer service…..thanks….πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘πŸ‘

Went in for break service. On Saturday. Ended up getting a tune up, spark plugs, oil,transmission oil, 620$ worth of service. Car came back with check engine light, engine is bouncing and Jerking, called sunday they couldnt take it. Made an appointment for Monday they did not honor it was told to come back Tuesday. They damaged the car now giving g us the run around.Dont waste your time and money with these clowns. Horrible

It took Pepboys three visits and four phone calls just for them to tell me they dont know what was wrong with my vehicle. It took Penske Honda THREE SECONDS to figure out what the issue was. Never going here again.Edit: I forgot to mention I had called them multiple times for them to send their diagnostics to my warranty providers, and they never did. Such a waste of time.

For years I was driving with used tires so I decided to get 4 new tires they had a special, I got the 4 new tires, plus FREE installation, FREE Alignment, plus a lifetime warranty as long as the tires were within the 75,000 mile lifespan for only 510$ and I got the highest quality tire available , all of the staff in the front desk were really professional especially Ricardo and Adrian they had a overwhelming amount of people to help but still performed accordingly.If your getting any work done on your car I recommend making an appointment you’ll save yourself a lot of time not only that but it helps out the employees as well. I will definitely be back to Pep boys in the future.

I walked into the Pep Boys yesterday to buy some parts that I need for the car. To my surprise the sales floor was closed off and only the service desk for auto repair was manned. Looking over the awning, all the racks that held the product were gone and the floor was empty. I looked online to review the hours of operation before I left the house. And nothing was mentioned of the change. Update the website to inform any walkin customers of the change and if and when the sales floor will be re-opened.

I’m a continuous returning customer. Kudos to the Service Department; Alex, Danny, Ricardo, and their manager Mario. They are friendly, professional, and provide awesome customer service. If I ever have any issue I feel comfortable bringing it to their attention. Their service department team actually listens and are willing to go out of their way to help resolve. This location does a great job following COVID-19 guidelines and I like how they’re open 7 days a week!

Went in for a punctured tire repair and rotation. Took a little over an hour. Very friendly staff. However, when I received my vehicle back I realized the rotation was never done. I know this because the tire that was punctured had wear on the sidewall from driving while deflated. This tire was in the same location it was before the β€œrotation”. I called back to get it fixed and they said I’d have to drop it off and wait because they were busy. I shouldn’t have to wait for service they put on my receipt as completed. Very shady business for them to lie about the work they’re doing and people are paying for.

I came in for a simple vehicle inspection. I been there several times before with no problems. This last time I was attended by Pep Boys Alex. Hopefully he was just having a bad day because I did not feel welcome there. I made an appointment online through car advise and it seemed like the right paperwork was not there so we had to call Car Advise again and cancel that appointment. It all got done but it was like I was pulling his nails. He did his job thus the two stars but courteous, welcoming he was not. Hopefully if I go there again I will be helped by someone else.

Made appointment for an oil change. Showed up 15 mins early, but car not serviced until over an hour later! No reason, no warning, and NOT busy! Alarmingly, their computer system advised 16 qrts of oil! 16!!! I recommend 7, per the owners manual! BUT!!! The guy who did the work, decided to fill.....10 qrts, all on his own! Oh, if you like your vehicle covered in grubby, dirty, oily hand and fingerprints, then this is the place to come! So, I just got the hell outta there and went straight to the dealer! Ill never come back here for service...!

Very rude and inconsiderate at the service department! I have been coming to this Pepboys for years. I recently moved back to Chula Vista and wanted to ask the guy at the service department a question. He (Alex) didnt acknowledge me for a couple of minutes while he was talking to another technician. Alex then told me it would be a couple of minutes. I waited patiently at the counter while he typed away and ran back and forth between the service garage. I finally just gave up and walked away. He never said anything. I then went to the parts department to purchase a battery. As I was talking to the clerk, a mechanic jumps in while I was mid-sentence and strikes up a conversation with the clerk. Visibly annoyed, she asked him to talk to her later.

I had originally took my car in to have a nail removed out of the tire and plugged. They put in a plug but the air continued to leak out of the tire day after day. I returned on 4 subsequent occasions and was quite frustrated by being told I would have to wait an additional two and a half to three hours to get it properly fixed each time. After posting a one-star Google review the management contacted me. They put me in touch with the service manager Mario. Mario contacted me and told me to come in and they put me ahead of the line and properly repaired the tire in less than 15 minutes. Thank you Pep Boys for considering the circumstances and putting customer service 1st, Especially for a customer that had already paid. Making an exception and correction to satisfy the customer goes a long way. Thank you.

Dropped off my car for an oil change. Once it was done they gave me a receipt with the wrong mileage 100k+ when the car only had 60k, they also forgot to put a sticker on the windshield for the next oil change and my passenger seat was all the way leaned back for some reason. Attention to detail is nonexistent in there. And if you want to keep a record of your vehicle dont come here.

Last year I purchased tires (and warranty) at Petboys. Yesterday I got a flat tire and brought it in for repair. They repaired the flat tire at no cost, but charged me $10 for replacing the spare tire back where it belongs (it stores underneath the trunk). Why is there a charge for this??? Gustavo was very professional and knowledgeable, he had an answer for every question I asked and even pointed me in the right direction.Now: The man whos name is Art is extremely rude whether its on the phone or in person, he is standoffish and gives more than enough attitude. Parts service was great. Great attitudeBUT here’s my experience with service.I changed the radiator top hose and thermostat at home. My car kept overheating so I took it in to have the β€œexperts” look at itAfter some time I got my call. They explained I needed new thermostats and radiator for $990Said no and picked it up. It stopped overheating. Turns out they let the air out of the engine when they pressure test it and that’s all it was.Took it to the dealership to be safe. They said they found a leak but it was because of the clamps I put on. It needed the hose clamps it comes with and haven’t had any problems at all in 2 months.I wouldn’t trust their service assessment anymore, just trying to upsell like crazy

In hindsight, I should have come here first! Understaffed tonight but then again not too many customers anymore by the time I got here. Went in for an scheduled oil change and one of the guys behind the register came up to me and said that my car needed three different parts cleaned, air filters I guess. I asked how much extra it was going to cost, he said $40 and I agreed to have the parts cleaned for that amount. When he called me up to claim my keys and pay, the bill was rung up to $136, with an extra $80 fee that I’m still not sure what for. It was listed as a brake fluid package and after asking around I was told that it’s completely unnecessary to change or mess with, unless you absolutely need it done. I did not need it done. I only wanted a simple oil change, nothing more. I do feel that I was taken advantage of because of my lack of knowledge when it comes to cars and also because a lonely girl in Pep Boys probably is an easy target for a scam.

The jury is still out. Ive used them once and feel like the price was over the top. I was in a pinch and didnt have time to comparison shop. They did what they said they would though.About 20 miles after I got my car back my thermostat went out. When I took my car back to them they replaced the part at cost. Worst Auto Repair Experience Ive Ever Had...Took truck in for simple alignment. Was called two hours later that the truck s clutch was slipping, and the mechanics could not get it into gear. I told them, everything was fine (and had been fine) when I drove it there and that the clutch had been replaced about one year ago. I asked to please have the supervisor try it and call me back... No call back. When I called back, about an hour later, they told me that it was stuck. As I was not understanding this (how could the clutch have broke since the time I dropped it off?), and being upset, the mechanic over the phone told me to come down and watch the video of it as it was up and down from the hoist, and they could prove that they did not break anything. Huh? How did the truck get on the hoist if it could not be moved? I went down, picked up the truck, without the alignment being performed, put it into gear, and drove home. Clutch is fine as it has always been, but now the right front ball joint shakes as the truck turns. Very Very suspicious. They ll be hearing from an attorney after I get the repairs done somewhere else.

The first time I went to Pep Boys was all I needed to decide this was my place from now on. The auto repair service center was clean, and organized. The customer service I received from start to finish, was better than any other (similar) repair shops.The moment I walked in I was greeted. The cashier pointed me in the right direction without having to ask. The line for the service department was short, and about a 10 minute wait. I didnt mind because it was obvious the service reps were undermanned, which was not their fault. I watched 1 person help the customer in front of him, apologize to the customers waiting, and answering multiple phone lines, while still maintaining professionalism, and calm demeanor.Each customer received his full attention, and I felt like he truly cared and not just blowing smoke in my ear.Every visit after the first was the same experience. I received excellent customer service from every employee from the repairmen/women in the back to the cashier in the front. I will always take our vehicles to this Pep Boys, theyve won me over with real customer service that I rarely see anymore.One last thing, their rewards program is awesome. Every service or repair on my vehicle and every material purchase I make all count as points. So far Pep Boys has sent me a $20 gift card for their store along with valuable coupons and just yesterday I received a $10 gift card. The gift cards can be used for service or products which is cool. Who couldnt use an additional $30??

I went to drop off some used oil today. while pouring it into the recycling vessel, I spilled some all over the floor. The tall young man that was working in the back that brought the vessel too me, helped me out and told me not to worry about it. and even gave me a plastic cover for my seat since I spilled some on myself and on the outside of the container I had used oil on. This meant a ton to me. He was patient and understanding and I appreciated it. Oh and it was towards closing time so huge kudos for not making me feel like a douche for the spill. I will go back to this place over AutoZone just for that kindness that was shown to me.

Honestly, I forgot PepBoys existed.I came in decently late at night (probably like 20 minutes before their closing time) and I had a tire running on pure hope and fixaflat. I asked what my options were and the staff looked defeated knowing they had one more costumer, however, they patched my tire in about 5 minutes flat. I own an Air Conditioning business and I know how important it is to have good customer service. The 2 people I spoke to this morning left a bad taste in my mouth. I was escorted in...escorted at check-out...and escorted out the door to the service deparment to have my wiper blades installed (in less than 5 minutes)...huge pleasantly surprising experience compared to my previous (multiple) experiences of standing and waiting to be noticed at check out...wondering if anyone worked there. PLEASE RECOGNIZE Genevieve and Martha (could be pronouncing wrong :/) for a great job of accomodation, friendliness and seemingly effortless courtesy that changed my opinion about PepBoys. This place continually disappoints. I called to find out if they could do an oil change and they put me on hold assuming they were checking the schedule or something. After a few minutes i drove over there but kept the call going. When I arrived I asked in person and they said they could not do the oil change. I then asked why they couldnt just tell me that over the phone instead of keeping me hold for 12 minutes. The guy just shrugged and said they are busy. These guys make the worst excuses. They are consistently late and they dont keep thier word. If you make an appointment they act like your a walk in when show up. The only reason I even try to put up with this place is because I live close to it, I have 55 dollars in credit, and most other auto places arent much better at customer service. I also dont like to give bad reviewed based off of one bad experience because it could be a fluke, but I am quite fed up with this place.

One of the mechanic today was very rude and sarcastic when asked a simple question as to what caused the flat tire. I was expecting him to tell me if he saw a nail or a screw that punctured the tire. I came to get my tire fixed but they took 2 hours to do the job. Two hours to plug a tire is BS. Its literally a 5 minute job. I used to work in a shop. These guys lack customer service skills. They close late so thats a plus. But geez. Greet your customers and organize your jobs for efficiency. I couldve pulled in to so many other shops that wouldve had me back on the road in MINUTES. Goto another shop unless u want to take a 2 hour nap for a battery change or tire plug. If theyre all closed then settle for this place just bring a pillow.

I had a horrible experience with this place. I took my car in for a tune up and was quoted $250 dls. When i went to pay my bill they were charging me $500 dls. I was able to get the fee reduced to $300 dls since that was all the money i had with me.Also they said i needed a new egu vacuum for my car and again quoted me $500 dls for the work to be done. I left and i went to Mikes auto repair on 3rd street in Chula Vista and i only paid $180 for the entire service to replace the egu vacuum.I think Pepboys are a bunch of Crooks find another reputable and honest Auto Repair Shop like Mikes auto repair.

My battery had died and I asked if they could check it to see if I needed to replace it a first they said it would take an hour till they could get to it but I didnt really have time to wait so I started to go to my car and the guy came out and had one of his guys check it for me right there on the spot I really appreciate it.

Took my car in bcuz it kept stalling on me. Made a 8am appointment for diagnostic check. When I got there the guy told me they only had one guy that does diagnostics and he doesnt come in until 10am. So I had to leave my car and have my son pick me up. While waiting outside an older gentleman asked me why didnt I use their free shuttle service. I told him I didnt know about it. Nobody had informed me. I called 6 hours later bcuz I still hadnt heard from pep boys. The guy told me they were really busy but my car was being checked and they would call me back. He called me an hour later to tell me nothing was wrong with my car. The next day we were heading to Disney and my car broke down twice. I called them back and I was told to bring it in Monday bcuz they wont be able to get to it until after the weekend. Ended up taking it to a reliable repair shop in spring valley.The guy at pep boys talked to and treated me like he hated his job. Not helpful at all. Not friendly. Didnt inform me or offer the shuttle service. Pep boys has gone down the drain. I wont use Pep boys or recommend them to anybody.

Thanks for the service, Alex! if you plan on getting an oil change, I went to Pep boys and just walked over to the nearby theater to wait. My car was ready right as I was about to step out and the service was great.

Ill blame lyft for choosing this location, but very undesirable service. I call ahead to ensure they could do vehicle inspect on Sunday (yes they say), and then I drive all the way down and the service rep says oh no youll have to come back tomorrow!! If I were lyft, Id consider the other Pep Boys on Broadway they were much more professional and committed to their customers.

I called to make an appointment and whoever answered the phone (we didn’t said his name) hanged up on me. Terrible rude maybe because I have an accent. I have been a client for a while from Pep Boys in Phoenix AZ (Ahwatukee) and I have been in this location before. I never was treated in this way. I called back and tried to talk to a manager and the manager was out looking for parts.
