How can they serve you this much food at this price and it be this good? I ordered Rito’s plate and it came with enough to feed a small family for multiple meals and cost me less than I would spend at a Cracker Barrel. The economics of it don’t make sense but I’m glad it exists. I particularly recommend anything that includes the crispy house potatoes.

Eleven City Diner is a fantastic breakfast and lunch spot. I created my own omelette today and the eggs were incredibly fluffy! Good food marred by slow and inattentive service. The waiter was really nice but disappeared after taking our orders. After waiting a long time and noticing the tables that sat after us eating their food and most of the other tables had cleared out, we had to go ask about our sandwiches which were then promptly brought to us. The only item that was supposed to be hot(fries) was cold and we were told it took about 40 minutes to make our deli sandwiches because a deli cook had quit.I understand this is something out of the restaurant’s control. Where I fault them is not following up as soon as they recognized there was a problem so we can have the right expectations. Still no one was really apologetic about the wait or experience and went back to ignoring us until I asked for the check. Bad things will always happen, it’s how you handle them that defines great service. This is not one of those places.

My son and I were sitting in the drive thru at the notoriously slow Chik-Fil-A on 11th and Clinton when he said, lets go to Eleven City, and I am so glad he did. I had been here a few years ago for a turkey sandwich but never had breakfast. My son said hes been here once with some college roommates and he likes the breakfast. There was a short wait for a table, the oldies but goodies music is great, and we most definitely got our delicious food faster than we ever have from that particular Chik-Fil-A location. I keep it simple with breakfast, so I had eggs, chicken sausage and an english muffin which all comes with crispy potatoes. I can take my potatoes soft or crispy as long as they are seasoned well and taste good and Eleven City did not disappoint. My simple over hard eggs were salted just right and compliments the sausage very well. My son had french toast with strawberries and bananas. The fruit was fresh and the french toast was perfect and not too sweet. I found the prices to be a little high for breakfast, but on any day that we are looking for a great sit down breakfast this will definitely be on our list.

This was a super fun place. Aclectic and full of life, the atmosphere was buzzing - fun but on the noisy side for sure. The service was very good and friendly. The menu was great. It was really hard to decide what to order. The Brooklyn egg cream was tasty and the corned beef pastrami hash was very good - needed a little seasoning though. The menu had the perfect amount to pick from. We all loved our food. My boys made a mess of everything and they continued to come to the table removing dishes and used napkins. They boys had chocolate chip pancakes and wear a mess. They brought a bowl of water with a lemon in it to clean their hands super cool. The restaurant itself was very large had a bar and lots to look at, the decor was very different. I would absolutely recommend this please and would go again. On 10/30/2021, I ordered two #43s (a sandwich with corned beef, Latke, and a smear of sour cream, topped with fried onions piled high and nestled in a Twisted Challah bun). One was mine. The other was a friends. The size of the roll was on the small size, leading me to believe the sandwiches werent worth the price. Or so I thought. The first bite sent me into orbit. Yes folks, I had a bonefide Foodgasm. The look on my face said it all. Confusion. Amazement. Over-the-top delight! This sandwich... This sandwich brought out tears of unabashed joy. I swear Im not kidding you. The second sandwich was for a friend who saved it for 5 hours until her shift ended. After eating it, she approached me with the same dumbfounded expression my face wore hours before. All she could say was, That sandwich was amazing!. Youve got to try it for yourself. Please dont be out off by the price. Its what other delis charge for much lesser fare. Invest in this sandwich. Its an adventure.

The most awaited meal of our first vacation, following Covid, quickly transformed into a supremely disappointing experience. The place was busy per usual but the service left a lot to be desired. We had to request for salt and pepper and sauces multiple times and from several different people in order to start enjoying our food. The appetizer never showed up and we ended up having to cancel it since the food showed up before the appetizer. When I spoke with the manager about it and mentioned we were long standing patrons from Michigan and have referred the place to several friends over the years, he only said, “We we super busy and I hope you will give us another chance.”To say the least, not sure if we will return after this experience, clearly the management doesn’t care enough.

If I had to describe this place in a sentence it would be “A place that definitely lives up to the hype!” The food, service, atmosphere. It’s all here. Exactly what you’d want in a throwback diner. It also has that diner quality of having something for everyone. You could honestly come back here every day of the week for months and get something new and delicious. They cover their staples well (corned-beef, pastrami, matzah ball soup, milk shakes) the list goes on.I haven’t been back since moving down to the south loop and was itching to get my fix when they reopened so I knew I was going with my staple breakfast of corned beef hash and eggs. I don’t know about the other Irish people out there but I at least try this fish everywhere it’s offered and you can pretty well sum up an entire restaurant by the style/quality. Let me be clear, this s#!t definitely isn’t coming from a can! They actually give you more of the good stuff than any place I’ve been to. It’s basically your choice of two eggs atop a 1/3 lb patty of beef. And it’s amazing! Second favorite was the marble rye it came with. Perfectly toasted with a moist center. Mmmm.My girlfriend, totally out of character, went with the French toast and wow. Not really my vibe because I don’t dig on the sweet stuff put it was... decadent. Almost like a desert. Add on a wild flavor ride of a Bloody Mary and a local cup of Collectívo coffee and you got yourself the perfect Saturday morning breakfast. Can’t wait to go back for lunch. Then dinner 😂. If your reading this thinking about which place to go, this just won!

I have eaten here both in restaurant and ordered via Doordash. I would say 4 stars for the atmosphere and service but 3 stars for the food. The atmosphere - yes, the wait has been long in the past but they have a full bar and fun cocktails to select from. Think of it as an upscale Bills - they have a full bar but most of their craft cocktails also include yummy juices and premium spirits. Fun for any brunch with friends. For the food...I am sure people love it but some of my favorites were a miss. It is very cool that you are able to get 2 different Benedicts on one plate. I will say though that their biscuits kinda ruin everything for me. The biscuits are super dense and dry and these are used in my favorite dishes - Benedict and biscuits/gravy. The density of the biscuits leaves you wanting more sauce. I have tried to get a side of sauce and there is an up charge. Most recently, I ordered biscuits and gravy and ended up barely eating them and just leaving a lot of dry crumbly biscuit on the plate.

Ive been here twice and it is ALWAYS packed full of people. Love the decor. The Reuben is amazeballs. The thing that kept me coming back, however, is the DELICIOUS HUUUUGE slices of red velvet cake. If you are a red velvet fan, you simply had to have been there to try theirs. The cake is so moist. Crumbly. Melt in your mouth. It was a bit pricy though for eight dollars plus tax, and the icing can be too cloying, but even so...I dream about it. And I miss it! So, ECD...please bring back the red velvet cake!
