Staff was super helpful and nice. I went in on a Saturday afternoon and was able to get my questions answered about the boots including guidance on selecting the right size.

Laura was a big help with me buying a new pair of boots!! All of the staff was awesome, too. Laura specifically explained to me how the wax and protectant spray works for my boots and I appreciated that a lot. They let me compare two sizes of boots, too. I love my new shoes a lot and would definitely trust the ladies working here with your questions and concerns!

I walked in on Saturday and left with the exact pair I was looking for! Thank you Genesis for helping me pick out my new sandals and helping me out when what I wanted was out of stock. I’m so happy with my purchase!

Love the place to death every year and a half i come for more boots... Did not like my last visit though... The manager was a bit overworked and had little patience..no problem... But he was not wearing doc martens... That was the only part i could not get over.....dress in the image of the store... I would never drop a star because i love the store so much!

Just left the Doc Martens location in Wicker Park and had to get on here to share what an amazing shopping experience we had with their sales rep, Laura. She was knowledgeable, had great tips on how to care for our Docs and just made us feel welcomed! Will definitely be returning and purchasing more from this location!

The store has a large selection and seems to be really good with COVID measures. Toni helped us and was amazing. Super knowledgeable and really nice. They let us try on multiple pairs and even added insoles to one of the pairs to see how we liked the fit. Overall it was a great experience.

I am biased towards Docs. I love these shoes. This store had a great selection. Two standouts were Glitter Pink & Mirror Ball. Staff was helpful and the store was clean.

I wish I can give this place a zero. Tried to make an exchange and employee at the register says “I’ll make an exception” as if it was an issue in the first place. The night shift on 10-2-20 staff were all terrible especially the kid with black hair and the guy with the tattoo on the side of his head. The only decent one there was the young lady. Listen it’s simple, if you don’t want to be at work, just quit. Give someone else the opportunity because they’ll do a better job. Very disappointed and will never be returning. Learn your policies. Went to the next closest Dr. Martens location on state and got exactly what I wanted and left very happy. GET NEW STAFF! Go to the state street location instead.

Horrible service.I don’t usually share my bad experiences here but this time was very disappointing, went this morning to this location and the two ladies there didn’t even bother to welcome me to the shop (which I dont really mind), the place was empty around the time I was there at 1pm or so, it was almost impossible to get their attention, had to say “hi” several times so one of them could pretend to do her job, the whole time I felt so uncomfortable, she had a v nasty attitude, I just wanted to get my pair of boots and leave. I don’t think I’ll ever return to this location, v bad experience to be my first time shopping in this store in a really nice area.I really understand how frustrating is to deal w people everyday but this lady chose the wrong career srly.

This specific store site was absolutely on top of all the COVID regulations. Everyone was required to wear a mask and hand sanitize before walking in. All staff members were nice and helpful, especially when I tried on almost every item that attracted my attention. Walked out with an absolutely gorgeous platform hello kitty pair.

The manager helped myself and my sister-in-law each pick out our first pair of docs. He was extremely knowledgeable and honest explaining the differences between the vegan boots and traditional. He was very friendly and made it an excellent experience, and also gave me some great tips on restaurants I have not yet been to! He was also extremely attentive to their covid measures, making sure that everyone came in used the sanitizer and was wearing their masks. The store is extremely neat and the staff was actively straightening up the entire time I was there. Im going back for the Mary Janes in a couple of weeks.

The customer service was horrible! We came in at 3:45pm on 9/14/20 and were mainly “helped” by Joshua. The other employees turned their name tags over when I mentioned I was thinking of making a complaint. I came in with a couple of friends after work to buy a gift for our friend. I was even hoping to get a matching pair a docs for my daughter and I as well. But as we walked in the door we were aggressively asked to sanitize our hands if we wanted to enter. There was no welcome at all. We all sanitized expect my girlfriend because she has eczema. So they told she had to wear gloves while rolling their eyes (which she was more then willing to do) as she was putting the gloves on we continued to the back to figure out which style we wanted, they stepped in front of my friend (with attitude &hand on hip) and said you need to finish putting the gloves on before you come into the store. We all knew by then that they were definitely being rude but we still wanted to get our gift so we continued while trying to still be as cordial as possible. I have never felt so uncomfortable and un welcomed as I did there. While we were looking through their collection Joshua came over to “help”. He rude, short and impatient. I was completely turned off of the idea of purchasing anything after dealing with the staff there. I honestly felt hurt by the time we left, I never treat people like that, nor do I expect to be treated like that, especially by someone in customer service. I’m a server. I try and make everyone that comes into our restaurant feel welcome and comfortable. I would never snub a guest, openly roll me eyes or gang up on a customer. This was a crazy experience and I wish I could forget it.

I called to make sure they had my size and thankfully as i got there they gave me insoles to better fit the shoes !! ❤️❤️ so so so happy with my purchase !! 💞💞💞💞💞💞💞 they were all so sweet and nice!! i will definitely come back again for another pair when they restock !! 🥰

This place was just lovely. I brought my tween girls in for their first pair of Dr Martens and we were greeted right away and made to feel welcome. I think our sales associate name was Julissa and she was attentive and knowledgeable and really helped my girls find their perfect boots in the perfect size. I was a little early because of some of the reviews but no need. I will be back for my own boots soon...thanks for the great experience!

They’re doing an amazing job with Social distancing. They require you to sanitize your hands upon entering and are also providing disposable face masks. The staff was friendly too!

Im assuming that the staff wasnt accustomed to many African American shoppers. I went in to make a purchase for my daughter and the vibes were so awkward. I had to return for what I thought would be an exchange and the staff was so rude. If I hadnt opened my mouth I would probably still be standing in the middle of the store.

Was in chicago for an event, and needed a new pair of boots. The staff here were amazing and they had my size on hand. The whole experience shopping here was amazing. Highly recommend. As for the boots - the quality is fantastic and they are incredibly comfortable. I love them.

Very friendly, helpful staff, great location, and amazing selection. If you live in the Chicago area and are looking to get some Doc Martens, go into the store! I originally ordered them online and they did not fit like I thought. I was able to take them into the store and exchange them for a different style (suggested by an employee), which fit a LOT better. Should have taken that extra step out and just went into the store. They honor online coupons in store, too!

This store was AMAZING!!!! We got to Chicago today and my wonderful husband took me to the Doc Martens store. I have wanted a pair since I was 15 years old in the 90s and now I am almost 35 and I finally have my very first pair! The girls at the store were super helpful and they had the style I wanted in my size! I was able to walk out of there a very happy grunge girl :)

Excellent customer service!!!!! We had a bad internet experience ordering a pair of DMs for our daughter for Christmas and found ourselves without them on Dec. 20th. Dr. Martens on N Milwaukee Ave. saved the day. Not only did they have the elusive item we were searching for they got them to us in time for Christmas after telling us they may not make it. They made it happen and we are very appreciative. Thank you so much.

The staff is usually friendly and helpful, the shoes they sell with the Sole Bouncing, are slightly over priced at this point, I feel but that still doesnt stop me from going back and buying new pairs. They run for a standard leather pair of boots any where from 115 to 150, Though they have added a few that cost under 100 though they dont tend to be fully leather. And speciality boots can cost quite a bit more. That being said, the boots tend to be lighter to comparable boots from other producers.I have been wearing docs since the early to mid 1990s, and I have seen the ups and downs in the quality of their product. And currently at the moment I am cautionly optimistic that the quality may be a little better than it has been

So happy I stopped in and the brand was as cool and approachable as I remembered. Sixth grade Jacob would have approved of the strappy sandal clodhoppers purchased today. The team was friendly and chill and kept shopping fun! Great work!

We were recently visiting Chicago from Denver and discovered this store. The staff was friendly and helpful. My wife and I each purchased a pair of Doc’s from Haley. She was great! Jayme, Taylor, and Jes were also helpful and fun to chat with while we were shopping. They have a huge selection. The next time we’re in Chicago we will make a point to visit this store.

I came in last weekend and spent about an hour trying to decide between to styles (*eye roll emoji*). Sadly I forget the name of the women that was helping me but she was amazing. She answered every question I had honestly and gave me as much advice as she could. She talked me through it and gave me all my options before I finally chose a pair. I love the shoes and I love the experience I had. I was ready to buy a pair online but Im so happy I changed my mind. This was the first store I stopped in on my trip in Chicago. I needed some inserts for my docs to make it through walking the whole day. The staff was well versed on their products and just about went out of their way to make it a great shopping experience. Of course, such great help meant my wife left with a new pair of boots, 3 new laces, and a huge smile.

Store was super cool and they had a huge and easy to navigate display, but the staff were a little rude and gave off an ego.

This is one of those classic situations that if I could give them zero stars, I would. Walked in and no employee (there were two) bothered to ask me if I needed anything in particular. Little observation: I was the only customer, but I felt more like a ghost.

I was there today and the two employees couldnt possibly have been less friendly or helpful. But I guess they wouldnt seem cool if they, I dont know, smiled or something.

Edit below:Tried getting boots before work. Website and sign on door says they open at 11. Showed up and no one was there so I waited until 11:20. I also called a couple times an no one answered. My shoes and socks are now soaked after walking through snow and sleet to get here. Last time I was here staff was super friendly and helpful however this kinda sucks. Everyone knew it was going to snow so I just think there should be a heads up if they aren’t going to open.After giving a 2 star for the above reasons I went back the next day and had a good experience like previous times.

Today Jolisa helped me with an exchange.. She was so helpful over the phone and once I got into the store she helped me pick out the perfect boots!! Her customer service was awesome and I was so happy with te experience. Thanks again Jolisa.

The staff at this location could not be more rude! If you are looking to sell product then you should probably lose the condescending attitude. I walked in intending to purchase two pairs of shoes and left with nothing. Staff could use some training especially for the price they are asking on these shoes. Went here in April with my mom when we both were in Chicago and decided to shop around the wicker park district. This store has a dope selection of docs and they are at a good price too! The employees are cool, hip, and friendly like most of the wicker park people and i definetely will come back to this store when i come to chicago again!

I remembered when I used to wear them and how comfortable they are.Drove by the store on Milwaukee and decided to stop in and relive my dancing days at Smart Bar, Neos, medusas , OBannions!As I cross the threshold I realize I dont know where the mens selection is.Making eye contact with an associate we make small talk and I state not wanting to look lost could you direct me to the mens selection. She led me to the area of the store and pointed out the classics, industrials and the new version that are quite lightweight.I asked her name and it was Jordan. She left me to myself to browse and being the lets get this over with type of buyer I settled on a pair of classic style. She promptly brought out 2 pairs of different sizes to ensure I was fitted properly and after excluding the one that didnt fit I walked out with a brand new pair.Jordan is a complimemt to your staff!Jordan rocks a second time!
