When you first walk in the door the shop seems simple, but the more we browsed with our kids (11 and 16) and talked to the owner...the more we fell in love with the place. It was BY FAR our favorite stop in Chinatown. As we asked questions, the owner opened up to us and gave us a short lesson in Chinese writing, translated bookmarks and scrolls for us and was incredibly helpful. We are from the Midwest (US) and we were all excited when we left her store, with a plethora of items, to learn more about a different culture and language.

Owner is very nice and helpful, offers calligraphy classes in a small classroom attached to her store for a VERY reasonable price. Helped me pick out a Childrens book to help me learn Mandarin and even suggested one at a good price with an included CD rom. If you ever need any books in Chinese , please come here! 谢谢您 WJ books!

A small Chinese bookstore, with a mixed selection of different types of reading material: novels, non-fiction, childrens books, study and reference books (especially for language study, of course), newspapers and magazines, some gift cards, etc. Theres a mix of traditional and simplified Chinese, and a small selection of English books.I went here to find reading material for studying Chinese, and I thought there was a good variety of interesting material at various difficulty levels, so I went away pretty happy.Prices are quite reasonable, and the staff was helpful and friendly.[This is located on the second floor of an outdoor pedestrian mall, a few stores down from the Kung Fu Tea shop which is also on the second floor.]
