Really nice marina with convenient t-dock directly on the ICW. We filled with diesel, pumped out and filled with water.They were kind enough to let us hang out till the bridge opened, which only opens at the top of the hour only

Good Fuel prices. Older facilities with character. Good place to stop, fuel up & stay for night. They seem to be set up to take care of any project, planned or otherwise.

Cannot perform basic repair functions as expected, or answer basic questions about repair work. Will give blank, dumbfounded look if you inquire about parts, repair or general cruiser services. Coinjock is more cruiser oriented, next stop when heading south.

We sailed from Portsmouth, finding our 12v. battery charger was not working. I arrived at the office at 8 AM, introduced myself as needing an electrician. Brian was at the boat within 20 minutes, being friendly, professional, and very solution oriented. He found a similar battery charger that was in stock at their local distributors, retrieved it, and installed it the same day, allowing us to have 12v power for the night.Ben helped resolve a gas-bottle problem we were having, replacing the regulator (circa 1983), finding an exact replacement in Great Bridge. He was competent, professional, and personable.You will not find this level of customer service anywhere else in the world,. Jeannette and I can say this, because we have already completed one circumnavigation. I recommend Atlantic Yacht Basin in Great Bridge, Virginia for all your yachting needs.

Awesome old school marina with some beautiful classic boats.

This is also a marina. On arrival we asked to fuel and pump out prior to tying up for the night. The surly dockhand disappeared after starting the diesel and we did it all. We kept asking for him to help us and he would either take off in the golf cart or walk into the building. We won’t be back.

Had to pick up a friend one night from here seems like a nice place.

Its late in the season and the place was open. That was great. Easy in an out with our big boat. Plus its 10 minutes back to big water. So its always a place i like to stop for fuel.The owner told me in off season call 24 hours ahead and someone will be there to get ya fueled back up. Thats a great business owner.

Called for space for the night, dock master called back and said there was room, arrived about two hours later and he told us we had to go across the canal to the free dock. Fueled up and moved, disappointed. If he had called and said there was no room, we would have stopped somewhere else.

Can handle just about any job. James Taylor mechanical supervisor is very good to work with. Get estimates first...

James and his crew serviced my 43 Eastbay this fall and in times in the past. She’s never run or looked better. Great people and great service for any of your needs. It’s also a great place to hang out or store your boat.

I liked it. Good facilities, good pricing and nice, friendly staff. Very convenient if you are transiting the intracoastal, and a good choice if you live in the area and looking for a place to park your boat. Its also one of the few places that have covered storage, and the location offers better protection in the event of extreme weather than the coastal marinas.

Not fancy. Its a real working yard with a deservedly good reputation. Open 24 hours per day with helpful staff. Good restaurants and food shopping within walking distance.

Great place to stop in for marine supplies. Bought some gel coat for a repair, got great advice from the guy in the shop. Super friendly.

We purchased a vessel which was kept at AYB. It needed a number of things done to make ready for travel. James and Marty lead a team of true professionals. Whenever something came up that needed attention they were all over it like a basket. When we needed technicians or tradesmen to complete work - the found the best and completed all work on time, on budget. We have a wonderful like new vessel thanks to their hard work and relationships with excellent contractors. Thank you all so very much for a great experience.

Convenient, friendly

The person that helped out was genuinely nice. We walked to the grocery store while they filled up the boat. Diesel price was good, bit lower than the next stop.

Started out as a helpful marina. The ladies at the office go above and beyond with all your office needs. The night time dock master is slightly rude. Sulfur water, very smelly, I run out of the bathroom. The parts department store manager was very nice in helping me acquired an expensive control cable. Less than 24 hours later when the part broke, they explained to me in very strong terms they will in no way meet me half way in the cost of the cable. Although, they did not installed it, they talked me out of the proper part that was less than half the custom cable that I was talked into getting.

Great repair facility. Sold my 36 Praire there and bought my 44 Heritage East thru Virginia Yacht Brokers based there. See Bob Starr if your buying or selling your boat. You will not be disappointed with his service and his integrity.

Simply the best.

Major East Coast repair yard with a strong reputation and many long time customers. Not a marina. Just a real boat yard. Shore side facilities on the “rough side” - toilets, muddy roads, bugs, etc. 24 hr security. Not a place to stay aboard for any length of time. Can easily walk to shore side facilities, e.g. restaurants, grocery, etc. Office, dockmaster and service staff very accommodating. Unusually well provisioned ships store with serious hardware, etc. Well known boat brokerage on premises. Broker Chuck Grice is “thee man”. Among the lowest fuel prices along the coast. Very well protected. Yard offers fresh water wet storage in sheds for long term storage.

My favorite stop on the ICW. Full service from a shop full of real pros. Short walk to shops & Restaurants. Lovely rural setting.

Really cool location tucked away near the great bridge bridge. Check out the park across the water.
