Good coffee. They brew, bottle, and bag their own coffee and tea products. Very limited menu, but it seems more of a cafe for their coffee producing factory, and not necessarily a cafe. No fancy frill or extra. But! Definitely respect it, and would recommend it to coffee enthusiasts.Super cute outdoor area as a plus!

This is their roastery, but they also have a full bar and sales area. Get everything from a box of freshly roasted beans to a new scale to upgrade your home brewing setup.Theyve got a lovely outdoor space to sit and enjoy your coffee.If youve only got time for one visit, Id recommend going for both a pour over as well as a shot of espresso from the bar.My shoot was smooth, sweet, and finished with just the right amount of acidity. Expertly pulled.And, of course, the entire space is incredibly bike friendly. Couldnt recommended enough.

Wonderful little coffee place, with inventive coffee drinks (as well as classics!)Had a flat white which was lovely, and came back the next day for their iced latte, which they actually make with cold brew - similarly awesome. The service was also fantastic- very friendly baristas willing to give recommendations and discuss the coffee they make :)Not much space to sit if you want shade (they only have an outside area with limited shade), but for the coffee and service the place definitely deserves a 5 star rating.

I have been going here since 2014.For coffee: The service that is provided is really good. The workers always seem friendly and easy to talk. Velo offers the staples a coffee shop should do, and they do it well (my favorites are the sidecar, cortado, and nitrobrew). You can tell they take pride in their drinks - for example the artwork they do for a to-go cortado shows their enjoyment and quality. As an extra they do monthly seasonal drinks to bring a unique twist to the counter that seem to always be good.For roasting: They offer a variety of beans to choose from certain areas. As an amenity, they provide a punch card for 10 purchases of beans and get a free box on them. AND my favorite thing they do is offer a complimentary hot drip to every purchase you do make - that speaks a lot to me.I will always do my coffee business here.

The shop is functional and quaint. The drip coffee was excellent! The outside seating is the hidden gem. Sort of a small private park. Worth your time to visit. I will certainly be returning!

Stopped in while driving through Chattanooga. We love discovering high quality coffee in new places. Velo did not disappoint! It is located in a very cool, artistic part of the city. We met a terrific, knowledgeable barista. The cold brew was delicious, complex, and smooth. Excited to brew the beans we got. Can’t wait to return with more time to explore the rest of the area :)

Ordered bags Of whole bean coffee to be shipped. I’m a city over but don’t do downtown so I thought it would be a quick process to get my coffee. It didn’t ship for over a week and when I sent a message asking about my order I was called ‘Kate’ (not my name) And told the whole company had been on a retreat ...so apparently no one was minding the store or shipping orders. Their coffee came in clear bags With a rubber band in a new fancy Black box Which is not the best design for packaging and storing coffee in my opinion. The coffee is expensive and while the taste was good, Goodman coffee is better, has a better packaging and they shipped my coffee out the next day!

Everything I was hoping for. Really unique abandoned warehouse vibe (favorite) with small batch roasting, espresso based drinks, and cold brew cocktail creations. Good service, great vibes. Great product. Drip coffee was really good too.

The folks from Site Seven introduced me to this awesome coffee. Glad they did cause its some of the most delicious coffee Ive had. Much better because I got to sit and enjoy it too. Pet friendly and an outside seating area too. Definitely the place for coffee in Chattanooga.

Stopped to try their drips because I was told I would really enjoy them. My friend was correct!!The drip was amazing. I normally need some kind of cream or sugar but with this one I did not. Not far from the hospital so I will be definitely going back.

I love Velo coffee. We have been getting coffee from Velo for over 10 years, and it never disappoints. The owner, Andrew, runs a top notch operation, and were lucky to have him and his business as a part of the Southside community.

Dropped in on a Sunday. They open at 10!! Had an espresso and my wife had the side car. Great stuff. Not the most amazing I’ve had but it definitely hit the spot. They have just a single group for they espresso bar which lends to a big of a slow moving line. However, the staff are lovely and the shop while it seems a bit messy lends to its cool vibe. All coffee is roasted in house and they even make their own canned drinks.

The best coffee I was able to find in the area. Unfortunately no seating insane, but they have a decent covered outdoor area where you can sit or work.

Visited for coffee and breakfast on a visit to Chattanooga. They were out of pastries so we settled for a ham and jam sandwich and a chickpea salad sandwich they had in the cooler from local bakery Bread & Butter. It worked out well as we both loved the sandwiches. We initially ordered a cortado and iced latte and enjoyed them in the courtyard with the sandwiches while enjoying the flowers in bloom. We then ordered coffee sodas for our walk back to the hotel, at the baristas suggestion, and they were delicious - perfectly refreshing and delicious. Bought some beans to take home.

I loved their drip as well as the Chicken Salad Sandwhich! First time here and very satified. The bariistas were also very friendly and supportive.

We always stop here for a cup! Its the only place I drink my coffee black. No sugar or cream needed!

Hands down the best coffee roaster in Chatt. Their beans are so unique and make for a great pour-over.There is a clear sense of passion from both ownership and the staff. Everything is fantastic from the cortados to the lattes.

Top shelf 3rd wave roaster. Nice outdoor space to hang out in.Only weird thing is they wouldn’t let my friend use is reusable cup and then my other friend asked for it in and they gave her two to go cups.

Great place to go to. I get all of my coffee beans from them and usually get a cortado or oat milk latte atleast once a week. Espresso is always dialed in and the latte art is definitely indicative of properly steamed milk.

Im usually indifferent toward coffee - I will pretty much drink anything. I will, however, go out of my way to get Velo. Always worth the trip!

Had the nightrider draft. It was smooth, delicious and just the right thing for a warm August day.

Pretty good cold brew. Pretty poor customer service. Like someone else has said, they seem annoyed and bothered to have customers. Did not see a smile or friendly face the entire time I was there.I also understand this is a time of a pandemic, but if you are going to have customers you should allow public access to the restrooms.Furthermore, if you only have outside seating, It is pretty unfortunate to not have any outlet to plug into.I will likely choose to go somewhere else next time.

The coffee here is phenomenal! I would come back and forth from here everyday if only they had more alt milks. The only offering was oat, but my girlfriend has a severe oat and dairy allergy so we were hoping to get at least almond milk, but thats the only reason that would keep us from being frequent. We ended up sharing a cold brew and the flavor was top quality. Just please offer at least another milk alternative.

This place is the Shangri-La of coffee in the southeast. The coffee is roasted on site and is brewed with every ounce of detail infused, from the grind size, the exact amount used, to the water chemistry and steeping time - these folks know what theyre doing and theyre pushing what can be done with coffee.I love this place so much that I make a quarterly trips from Atlanta just for this place and so should you.

I’m not a hard core connoisseur, but this was easily the best cup of coffee I’ve ever had. Very flavorful and it didn’t even need sugar. They roast a lot of the beans for local eateries so I also got a pound of fresh beans to take home. A functional but very interesting decor and it is pet friendly to boot.

I honestly didnt have anything here. It was rather small and I get anxiety in small places. Its not on the front of the street. You have to walk beside the building through a fenced area. It smelled great and looked clean. Dont expect flavorings. I just wanted to leave a review so others would know about this place if its your style. It looks like a great place. I just felt uncomfortable and claustrophobic. I cant give a 5 star because I didnt order anything.

Great little coffee spot - drip coffee was delicious and served in a fixed press carafe on a tray with your mug. Fun and practical, this shop has a nice outdoor patio space with plants and tables. Their merch is very nice, like mugs, shirts and other bespoke non-mass-production goodies, perfect for you and yours. Good spot, do not overlook - coffee was stellar!

We were visiting Chattanooga and in every city I make it my goal to find the coffee shop that exhibits two things . The first is a passion for coffee . The second is a commitment to the bean. After exploring around I found Velo Coffee Roasters . They are coffee people and became my home away from home coffee base while visiting. They represent the bean well and their coffee ethos is spot on. I had no need or no desire to even try any other places. We share the opinion that the roast profile should not destroy the varietal integrity of the bean . If you are here searching for a great coffee experience do yourself a favor and go there you won’t be disappointed.

Exceptional staff here. The setting is very reserved and private, and it really facilitates a calm environment. Their cold brews are some of the best I’ve ever had. They’re on tap and most of them are beer inspired. This is possibly one of the best coffee shops in Chattanooga.

Pretty amazing coffee. We had a latte and an aeropress, both of which were great. If you don’t actually like coffee, this isn’t the place for you. No fancy syrups and flavors to hide the true flavor of coffee. Limited tea selection, good selection of canned drinks. Seating is a little on the lean side, but outdoor seating is available, some of which is covered.

I love this place. The space is huge, though admittedly most of it is occupied by the roasting/manufacturing environment. They are a bit light on seating. The staff is quite friendly and welcoming. Coffee is pretty good overall. Im not sure that I drank all of mine as I had hit peak caffeine for the day. I look forward to going back and trying it again sometime.

Incredible coffee. Possibly the best coffee in Chattanooga. They also have pastries from Bread and Butter which is it very high-quality bakery. However, the selection is very limited. The biggest flaw is the lack of seating. The bar is nice but not a great place to work.

This is the real deal for a coffee house. After taking a moment to soak it in and realize you are in a place that deals with real coffee in ways that let the drinker enjoy it, you can order a cup from someone who knows the craft and can speak to it. No franchise constraints here... go have a cup of coffee you can TASTE.I had an Amreicano and for one of the first times was served a proper temperature, carefully crafted cup from which subtle notes of flavor flowed. A chorus of flavors danced on each sip. Do yourself a favor and visit Velo whenever possible.

If you havent tried the coffee soda cold brew or the canned cascara you are missing out! also really appreciate their current efforts with keeping their space feel safe with covid.

Quiet and cozy above all else. The prices are not the cheapest, but they are reasonable and the coffee is outstanding. The employees are all friendly and a great help with questions and conversations.In additional to their brewed coffee and drinks, they sell a wide range of appliances for any coffee-related use you could think of, as well as their proprietary beans.There is a very small parking lot, which could hold 3-4 cars max, so if you go during quiet hours you wont have a problem. Otherwise, there are a few places to park on the street or nearby.

The coffee is roasted near perfection!The staff is SUPER friendly and helpful.The coffee is brewed fresh, the pastries are delicious, the prices are on point, there is outdoor seating, they have cold brew on tap, they have it all here at Velo!!A+++ and highly recommend!

Had never been to Chattanooga and then decided to try this place on my way back to Bham. The ladies who were working there were really sweet. The location was kinda tucked away in the back of a building and there wasnt a lot of parking off street. However, the bathroom was nice and clean and there was ample seating inside.

Very hipster coffee joint thats tucked into an industrial style building. The coffee tastes great and the staff is super friendly. They are very bicycle oriented and have a vertical bike rack within their outdoor seating area.

I love single origin espresso shops, I requested a 6oz cappuccino vs the 8oz (it means you simply pour 2 less ounces of milk). I was declined and sent out of the shop. That was a new experience for me at any coffee shop!

This place is a proper coffee shop! Great selection of single source beans and the staff takes care to do it right. Not really a place to work from, if thats the vibe youre looking for. However, if youre looking to sit outside and enjoy a coffee on a nice day, or just grab some great beans, its well worth checking out.

Coffee is good. Service is great. Bathroom is so over perfumed that you cant even smell coffee at a place that roasts coffee. This makes it a great place to get my morning Joe and do my morning no no. Thank you velo for comfortable accommodations.

Petty disappointing, extremely limited selection and mediocre coffee

Went in for a decaf latte. Couple of things to note which were displeasing: the girl behind the counter seemed a little frazzled with a few people walking in asking for things as she was making my drink. Maybe that’s why I was given a regular caffeine latte? (I was so jittery for a while after leaving. I know decaf does not mean 0 caffeine, but woah!) Also, I asked for honey as a sweetener. I was told that the honey would be on the side. Well, as anyone knows, a latte is given to you with foam and a cool design on top. So I poured in the honey and ruined/stirred half of what makes a latte a latte. Pouring the coffee over the honey in the cup would have prevented this! Lastly, by the time I was done drinking my less than average size latte out of their mug, it was getting cold. Not sure what temp the milk steamer was on, but they need to amp it up a little and account for the fact that adding a cold dairy product will change the temp all together. I’m a quick drinker, I didn’t sit around. I was in there for a grand total of 15 minutes. Overall, unimpressed with the exceptionally tasting coffee drink due to the unexceptional knowledge and service. Probably will return, and hoping to give them another chance.
