One of the best breakfast joints in Chattanooga. Grabbed the breakfast plate and was not disappointed. The biscuit was huge and the fresh made jam was amazing. But the cheese grits stole the show. I’d eat my body weight in that stuff. Highly recommend!

Wow they are incredible!!! The place was so busy and they had everything moving so quickly and were also so so kind! The blueberry fritter bread was amazing. Atmosphere is great. People are great. Food is great. Coffee is great. Highly recommend!

30 mins and counting to get 4 toasted bagels. Girl said they don’t have a system where shorter duration things get put to the front, which I totally understand but we saw 30 other people get their stuff before us. End of the day, shouldn’t take 35 mins to get 4 bagels.

My husband and I were on our honeymoon and came here for brunch on the recommendation of our AirBnB hostess. We were not disappointed! The atmosphere and coffee are great, and the cheese grits are off the chain.

Garbage! Charged me $9 for a small vanilla latte. The lady just put coffee over ice and called it a latte, there was no vanilla! The only flavor it had was the garbage taste of what they call coffee. I only came because my usual place was closed today 🥺. But now I know better.*Be Caffeinated is down the road and they won’t do you wrong!

Amazing breakfast! I got the salmon bagel and it was sooo good. It had smoked salmon, arugula, tomato, and feta cream cheese. We also tried the quiche and avocado toast. Those were both amazing as well! The Golden latte, made with turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, vanilla, honey, and coconut milk was surprisingly good! It was a nice change from a normal latte. You can also get espresso added to it!

Fun place to hang out or get some school work done. The cold brew coffee was a bit stronger/acidic than I prefer, but certainly got the job done without the jitters. Our order came out quick and correct, for those on the run... and the workers were friendly. Oh, and prices were fair.We plan on making this our new coffee stop whenever were in the area.

Yum! What else can I say. We had the tofu scramble breakfast and were very happy with the portion size and taste. Coffee and staff were also incredible.

First time to visit and was a disappointment. Coffee was only Luke warm, the bacon was very greasy, and the eggs had way too much juice which we had to pour out of the bowl. Two meals was well over 23.00. I realize its a coffee shop, but I guess I had higher expectations due to the ratings.

Clean, aesthetic, and friendly. The dirty chai was sooooo good and the breakfast sandwich I got was huge and really tasty for the reasonable price. I really like this place and will be back because the bakery items looked amazing.

Whoa! The breakfast plate is one of the best in town. Taste fresh and very good. The coffee is amazing and taste even better in a mug they give you if you drink it in shop. One of the best in town! Staff is friendly and works hard to give us a great place to eat, drink, and work.

Friendly service, food came in a timely manner. The bacon was cooked to perfection (not overly crisp). The eggs and cheese grits were disappointing but would definitely recommend it as the last time I was there, I thought the food was excellent.

This is by far the best London Fog (Earl Grey tea latte) I’ve ever had. Highly recommend! I drink an Earl Grey tea every day (from home), and often times getting it other places falls flat or the shop uses a concentrate which isn’t as tasty, but they made it fresh here and it is lovely!

A fun local coffee shop with a good vibe. We popped in here while visiting the area cause it had a fun name and look, and I love coffee, so why not try local? The counter is right to your left when you enter and the menu is short but sweet.I got a mocha and we looked through the space. There was plenty of seating if you wanted to say. I took mine on the go, so we could look around the area more.Staff was friendly and welcoming. If we ever return Id like to give some of the food a go! Sounded tasty!Overall: AGreat local coffee spot!

I went on a rainy Sunday morning. The staff was quick and friendly. There was a moderate amount of people inside, but still some good seating available. I actually picked a la cart. I had eggs and bacon, which were excellent. I had a shot of espresso to get me going and also the french press coffee, which was brought in a small press to the table. Both drinks were fresh and tasty. The atmosphere was quiet and friendly. There was plenty of parking out front. I am definitely going back.

Often there isnt anywhere to sit. -1. Internet is slow enough to make you want to chuck your laptop at the brick wall. -1. Food and coffee is really really good and reasonably priced. Very kind pleasant staff

I had the I cant believe its not pasta. (Pesto plate with spaghetti squash) Squash was not soggy, great texture balance between ingredients, zucchini could have been cooked a little longer, good size distribution of feta chunks.I had a drip coffee, it was good, but didnt blow me away.

My go to coffee shop.Usually have two roast on drip. Trained baristas for espresso. Always a smiling staff.2 locations both with good parking situations.Roast their own coffee. ( Roaster is located at the North shore location. You can watch Tyler roast if you are there when its happening.)Full menu heavy on the breakfast side that is served all day.Both locations have their own personality. The Southside location has a nice outdoor space and cozy interior with vintage couches and eclectic art and random decor. Northshore location has a large shared deck and a semi private room in the rear of the store with a large picture window. Food at each location is the same menu. They specialize in breakfast type foods and pastries. Massive apple butter cinnamon rolls!!! Rotating scone flavors. Their biscuits are about the size of a mens softball. I could go on and on.GO HERE

Well worth 5 stars in atmosphere and service. The food was outstanding. We had the Paleo breakfast and a pastrami biscuit both of which were incredible. Def worth a visit.

This is the coffeeshop I wish I had back home. Such a cool space that is both open and intimate, bright but cozy. I got a cafe au lait which was quickly made, and tasted great. I live in Illinois and buy beans that are roasted there, so it was fun to see the machine that does the job and brings me a lot of joy :)

Ive been ordering breakfast through UberEats for around a week now and every time Ive ordered its been great. The coffee is wonderful, the peanut butter toast is delicious, and the fruit that comes with it is always fresh and sweet. Plus they always nail the presentation. Overall great service!

Great little study spot. Their coffee is good quality, but a little more on the acidic side. So, if you like espresso and more nutty/chocolatey Latin American and South American coffees, you may want to ask them to do a pour over or press.

First time at the North location. Same friendly and welcoming vibe as the south location. Staff is eager to suggest food combos and answer any questions regarding the menu. Location is right next the best attractions on the North shore. Coolidge park and the walking bridge is just across the street. Rock Creek is right next door.

This is one of my favorite coffee shops in Chattanooga. I enjoy their coffee, food, and ambiance. My only complaint is that there isn’t enough seating. The seating they do have fills up very quickly. However, I believe this is due more to the size of the space, not the configuration.

Mean Mug is my favorite. They have the best coffee in Chattanooga! I have never had a bad experience or ordered a drink I didnt like. The atmosphere is great. I love how close the new Mean Mug North is to the North Shore. It is much easier to park here than at the South location (for free too!).

Their coffee is good in the environment is nice. It is an enjoyable place to sit and do work. However I wish there pastry selection was better. It is mostly heavy sweet bread type things. I would prefer if there were lighter things also, such as croissants.

It was a rainy day and there was plenty of free parking in the lot.The atmosphere was warm and inviting and it looks like a place you could take some time to sit back, relax and enjoy.I ordered a 12 oz coffee, Im not sure what variety it was and it was pretty good. I had a lavender scone which was just okay. Id skip it and try something else next time.The service was pleasant and efficient.Great experience.

Best cofffee and breakfast I have had in ages. I had the Black Cappuccino, which had espresso, activated charcoal, and vanilla (and a couple ingredients Im forgetting). It was delicious and so different! I had the avocado toast, which came on thick sprouted whole grain toast, plenty of avocado, sprouts, and a soft boiled egg. It was off the charts good and very reasonably priced.

Atmosphere of the location is phenomenal.Fits our favorite kind of style. Very industrial yet homey at the same time. Love it! Look at the floors... best ever.Coffee -I love the Cafe Breva, It is super smoother looks wonderful and good flavor. I give it a 8 my wife gives it a 6.The cappuccino is also amazing. Really, anything you get there will be good.Breakfast food -The biscuits are huge, delicious and the right amount of flaky. Ally would like me to point out that the bacon has the perfect amount of crispiness and chew. Youre going to love this place... Their in house baking in terrific for a coffee shop! The pricing on food is very reasonable for the amount you get and the quality of what you receive. Last time I was there (Oct 2019) It was just $5 for a great breakfast to go with your amazing coffee.Our favorite place around!

Mean Mug has been my go-to spot since I moved to Chattanooga last year. I work from my computer every day, and this is the best spot Ive found in Chattanooga to sit down and get some work done. The lighting is really nice so you dont feel cooped up, the coffee and food is amazing, and parking is really easy to find (free too). Friendly folks!

Mean mug is a fantastic coffee shop. They roast in house, the prices are fair, the espresso and food is amazing. I drive up from Georgia at least once a month for their espresso.

In my top 5 go-to places in town! Its at the top of my list when looking for a coffee, a sweet treat, a delicious lunch, a cozy brunch, or even a study nook. Also, a delicious place to get beans to go! (Cinnamon buns as big as your face!)

Upon entry to Mean Mug, you can see that they dont try to sweep under the rug the charming industrial feel of the old factory it in part inhabits. The furniture matches that style but is still comfortable enough, and there seems to be ample seating for visiting solo or with a group of friends. Overall, the place itself has a good vibe. On my first and only visit so far I tried only the hot drinks. The drinks themselves were ok, but a key aspect of my wifes and my drinks was swapped (I asked for a syrup in mine, it ended up in hers). They were also the tiniest bit underwhelming on flavor/body--best guess is that maybe there was a slightly higher ratio of steamed milk than what were used to. The drink itself remained pleasant, though, and I still hope to return to explore more of the menu--their pastries looked great!

I had the Golden Latte. It was okay. Very very stout and bitter, but it was unique. Atmosphere was good, it was a little unorganized.There were a lot of people sitting at tables that had no drinks or food, so it was hard to find a spot to sit down as a paying customer.

I had americano here a couple of times. Coffee taste ok. Service was good. And there are plenty of seats inside. Parking were tricky sometimes.

This coffee shop has a great ambience! The food and coffee were on par with what I would expect from this kind of hip, independent coffee shop. The main draw of tho place though is the atmosphere.

Pleasantly surprised by how delicious my sandwich was! They didnt have just regular, plain green tea which was odd considering its a coffeehouse. It is a nice looking place though. A little bit expensive but overall had a nice experience here with my wife!

The Original Mean Mug location on W. Main Street became a Chattanooga classic for coffee, sandwiches and baked goods. This new location is a good representation of the Mean Mug brand and style.The staff are as nice and helpful as the original.

This place is pilgrimage worthy. Wonderful staff, the best cinnamon rolls Ive ever had, and when coffee this good isnt even close to the star of the show, youve got all you need for a great morning.
