I was in a car accident five years ago and have been in a wheelchair ever since. I have had a technician named Robert from the very beginning and will never use another company or person, until he retires. Extremely prompt and helpful service. They have a great team in Charlotte and I would recommend them over anyone else, hands down.

For the past 11 years, National Seating and Mobility has been a constant in my life - that is when I received my first motorized wheelchair. I met with Robert Flanagan and the occupational therapist at my neurologist’s office and they helped me choose the perfect chair. During those 11 years, I have had to call NSM multiple times for various reasons-some very minor, one a huge crisis. Every single time, someone at NSM took care of my concern: for the major ones, it’s been Robert. But for others, I’ve dealt with secretaries, repairmen, the people who order parts-it does not matter whom you contact, you will be well cared for. It is rare today to find a company that is that steeped in good service practices-but NSM is exactly that.

We had NS&M install a chair lift with sliding rail in our new home several years ago. I have Muscular Dystrophy. There was a 90 day warranty on the lift. From the beginning the rail would stop, and Id have to either start and stop the chair repeatedly, or when I got to the bottom of the stairs Id have to run the rail down separately which takes several minutes. They came out and worked on it several times, and kept reminding me about the 90 day warranty, and didnt I want to buy the extended warranty from them? I kept reminding them that it didnt work yet. About ten weeks later, it finally worked after they replaced a part. I was told I had 2 weeks to decide whether to buy their warranty for $200.I was referred to them by the MDA, which at the time had a supplies and repair allowance fund for patients of $400 a year. They knew this. They knew that the MDA would pay for repairs, which I certainly didnt expect to need every year, and a tune-up is not $400. They tried to hard sell me into buying a warranty they knew that I didnt need. When I did need service, I called someone else and they billed MDA for me. Easy peasy.

Don’t bother, if it weren’t for Josh who I have worked with for a long time, I would have gone somewhere else a long time ago! The people who do the ordering are rude and drag the orders out before placing them. Probably the worst customer service I’ve ever encountered.

Our daughter was born in July 2019 with a series of birth defects including a heart condition that kept her from being able to use a regular car seat. Of course you have to have a safe way to bring your baby home and she had lots of follow-up appointments at different doctors. While still in the NICU we received a special medical device, a Hope Car Bed, via a grant through the children’s hospital. This special car bed had an insert that our daughter was placed in that fastened inside the car bed inside our car. This insert was good for up to 9lbs. As our daughter neared this weight we contacted National Seating & Mobility to order the larger insert as they showed up on our insurance company’s website as an in-network provider. It took 3 weeks for Scott, the owner of the branch we were working with to connect with the manufacturer to ensure they could get this item. By this point she was almost 10lbs and HAD to be in the larger insert. In order to get the insert as quickly as possible, because our daughter NEEDED this to get to and from doctor’s appointments, Brenda from National Seating & Mobility told us we were in network, but this item would require pre-authorization to be covered by insurance and that the process could be timely. To speed up the process she suggested we could order the insert, pay cash, and then file for reimbursement with our insurance company after the fact. That was in September 2019. After months of back and forth we still don’t have our reimbursement. Our insurance keeps telling us it’s on National Seating & Mobility who of course points us back to insurance. It’s now April and Brenda with National Seating & Mobility has retired. We’re still trying to get reimbursed from insurance and are still getting no help from National Seating & Mobility. To make it even worse, by this point no one at National Seating & Mobility has any record of our interactions with Brenda, no notes, nothing on file. The people we spoke with again today were no help either. Just pointed us back to insurance and blamed them. No accountability for what happened and/or what we had been told previously. Some people may look at this and say, “you’re only out a few hundred dollars, let it go.” Sadly, we’re about to that point. And I think that’s what everyone at National Seating & Mobility and our insurance company wants us to say. What’s frustrating is that we were lied to left and right by National Seating & Mobility about how they were handling our purchase of this medical device and how we would be able to submit for reimbursement with insurance. What’s also frustrating is how we had to do all the work from the beginning. From getting the manufacturer information on the medical device for them all the way through to now, going back and forth with insurance for months. No warm transfers or conference calls. No offer of help from National Seating & Mobility. No assistance what so ever. Save yourself the time, money, and trouble and take your business elsewhere.

I never thought I’d be leaving this review. Upfront we were made to feel confident that they could get the equipment needed for our daughters adaptive car seat no problem. It took weeks to get confirmation that they could get it (I had to call several times to follow up on where they were in the process). Due to the delay we ended up having to purchase the part we needed out of pocket (my daughter out grew the part we had) while being reassured that we could then file a claim with insurance to get said part reimbursed. I have been back and forth with this company and insurance for the last 6 months only to find out that the woman we were working with has retired, left no notes, filed the equipment under my husbands name vs my daughters, and failed to inform us that adaptive car seats and accessories are never covered by insurance. I have wasted many hours and a lot of energy only to find that we are out of hundreds of dollars! We wanted to shop local versus an online company, in this instance that was a mistake. We will never do business with this company again.

Called and discussed my needs. Spoke with the representative and she was suppose to follow up with me early the following week. Needless to say they did not. I called more than once to follow up because they were contacting my insurance company. To finally be told the call to my insurance company had not been made but they could not offer a competitive quote.

Great service by Adam and his team of experts. Safe Home Pro was on top of it from the initial consultation to the final installation of our chairlift. I would highly recommend Safe Home Pro!

Customer service and responsiveness are the worst Ive experienced from any business.Unfortunately our insurance provider locked us into doing business with them for many years as Chair & Equipment. Our son has a progressive muscle wasting disease which slowly eroded his mobility. We started with a scooter purchased from the company. When it broke down, it took weeks to have it repaired ...and they did a real *** job. They messed up the wiring, which failed a short time later. We finally took it to another dealer, who rewired it and got it up and running. About 5 years later, our sons condition declined and he needed a power chair. It took months to process insurance and place the order. In the meantime we acquired an old oversized loaner chair, which he used for 5 months before his new chair arrived.Hes owned the new chair less than 6 months. It already needs repairs. We called NSM several times. They were pleasant enough but completely non responsive. This has been going on for at least 2 months and still no remedy.

Jeff (sales) and Morton (service) saved the day! Our sons front wheel on his wheelchair broke two days before his birthday. His chair was fixed the very next day...so his birthday celebration wasnt hampered by a wheelchair issue. Couldnt ask for better customer service! Thank you both!
