This is a fantastic, honest, and ethical practice. My family said that I needed hearing aids. I told them that I did not and that frequently I tune them out. I went to a few other competitors who said I needed a hearing aid. I did not trust them because they were selling me when I came in and had not even checked my hearing. At the hearing & balance center they checked my hearing first. The doctor was honest that I had very mild hearing loss and that the cost outweighed the benefit and that hearing aids were not needed at this time. How many people would be honest enough to tell you their services were not needed at this time. Hearing aids cost a lot of money. I highly recommend the Hearing & Balance Center!!

The Hearing and Balance Center is a life saver. I needed hearing aid supplies and got them the same day I requested them. In addition, Dr. Seaborg cleaned and replaced a wire on my hearing aides which made all the difference in my ability to hear. Dr Seaborg is not only a great audiologist, but her concern for the people who come to her as patients is incredible. At my first and only appointment with her she encouraged me to apply to the Veteran’s Administration for hearing assistance. Great place with very friendly people. Christina listens well and seems interested in helping her patients. My wife got hearing aids for the first time, while Christina simply tuned my six-year old aids slightly to get better performance. The hearing test at H&BC is as good as any I have ever taken and seems quite accurate, matching what I perceive with and without my hearing aids. H&BC is well located (right off Johnston) and has easy parking. We are pleased to have discovered her.

I went to Dr. Seaborg for vertigo and for hearing loss. In one simple treatment, my vertigo was gone! I had suffered for months and within one afternoon I was cured. As for my hearing loss, I was fitted with hearing aids that offer multiple settings, which is invaluable for a professional musician and teacher. I am able to choose one setting for teaching private lessons, and another for symphonic playing, and another for every day use. The doctor and staff were both very pleasant to work with. She did a thorough exam and hearing test and fit me with what I hope will be the best device to help with my tinnitus (it had to be ordered for my pick up next week). The doctor spent a lot of time with me and was not jumping from patient to patient, something you dont often see these days. I really appreciate having the doctors attention focused on me and not split between patients!

Dr. Christina is a congenial audiologist in a warm, clean, organized setting. She asks good questions and is open to inquiries and curiosities about ears and hearing. Dr. Seaborg is very caring and professional. I purchased my hearing aid from her about 8 years ago. Now I take my mother to the Hearing and Balance Center and Dr. Seaborg helped to better fit a hearing aid that my mother had purchased elsewhere in another state. I originally got hearing aides from a national chain and theytook my hearing from about a 2 to a 4 on a scale of ten. Dr Seaborg analyzed my hearing issues and prescribed a hearing aide that took me from a 4 to a 9. For me it is like a miracle. I hear so much more with so much less effort. While researching United Healthcare audiologists, I came across the Hearing and Balance Center in Charlotte. After having a less than positive experience elsewhere, I called and made a very quick and easy appointment. After I gave them my insurance info, they verified it, and set up my first visit. To my surprise, Christina Seaborg was super nice, very professional and all her staff were as well. She checked my hearing and showed me what options were available to help me hear much better. I ordered the ones we decided would suit me best, and within a week I was in for my hearing instruments. My initial testing and tuning was amazing. I could hear so much better and people sounded much clearer when they spoke. It takes some getting used to, but once you become accustomed to hearing yourself speak, listening to the TV and radio at much lower volumes and hearing sounds that have been missing for so long, the experince is amazing.Christinas staff are always so helpful on the phone, and also in person, it makes me want to just go by and visit! Getting older isnt always a good trip. I needed a new set of hearing aids. After doing a little internet research, I was willing to try Hearing and Balance. They had very good reviews and I can see why. Dr. Seaborg takes personal and professional care if you from the start. She listens to what you have to say and asks astute questions. The testing seemed very complete and gives them a good idea where your hearing is. I was fitted with a demo set of hearing aids and over the course of 3 or 4 visits, got them where they needed to be. I was told what the best hearing aids were for my particular case and we dropped it down a level because I didnt need all the bells and whistles of top of the line. Very pleased with how much better I can hear. Dr. Seaborg took the time to explain some points I had questions on and I never felt rushed. She has a very competent staff and a well run business. I would whole heartedly recommend Dr. Seaborg and her Hearing and Balance Center for anyone with a hearing problem or someone looking for a new set of hearing aids. Ive gone through two outfits with two sets of hearing aids, this being the third. I wiil return here for my next set when that time comes.

In 2009, my long-time audiologist sold his business to a national chain and the quality of service immediately went down. When I needed new hearing aids in 2011, I decided to look for a new audiologist and found Dr. Christina Seaborg (AuD, University of Florida) on Angie’s List. She tested my specific hearing impairment, which is loss of high frequency hearing, and recommended a different technology of hearing aid (frequency compression) rather than the type I had been using (volume amplification). I’ve been using the new hearing aids for three years, and they work much better for my particular type of hearing loss.Dr. Seaborg recently explained to me and my wife that when I incorrectly hear a word in the middle of a sentence, my brain tries to interpret that word and doesn’t focus on the remainder of the sentence. Subsequently, the speaker gets frustrated because it appears to them that I stopped listening to what they were saying. Until Dr. Seaborg explained what was happening, it really did appear that I was tuning out the speaker, which obviously was very irritating to both the speaker and me.Now that I understand what happens when I misunderstand a word, I follow Dr. Seaborg’s advice by repeating the sentence up to the word that I misunderstood. That way, the speaker realizes that I’m not ignoring them, which minimizes the irritation and keeps the conversation going.These are examples of the incredible service you get from Dr. Seaborg. I highly recommend her for those with hearing impairment.
