I had a great experience with my first time being in a Gun shop. Brett T. asked my Brother & myself if we needed help as soon as we walked in the Shop. He explained everything about the guns we ended up purchasing as well as Holsters. I told him we had found the place we would be making all our purchases from now on. Driving here from Conover NC was well worth it. And Christi was wonderful as well talking to me in regards to the driving Range and explaining about certain Guns I asked about. Brett made sure we were safe & walked us to our Vehicle after we were done. Thank you Brett for a wonderful experience!We will definitely be back!

I normally don’t write reviews, but felt obligated to after my most recent trip there today. This place has, hands down, some of the best customer service I’ve ever experienced. No matter how busy they are they make you feel welcome and break their necks to make sure your needs are tended to. I bought an AR my first trip and they gave me white glove service. Today’s trip was to upgrade a few parts and they installed them on the spot. It’s obvious these guys know what they’re doing, love their jobs, and genuinely want to help. I truly appreciate the outstanding customer service and will absolutely go out of my way to give them my business for as long as I live in NC.

This afternoon was my first time visiting Hyatt Gun Shop on Wilkinson Blvd. I had an absolutely AMAZING experience! An older gentleman approached and asked if I needed assistance. He was very knowledgeable in assisting me. I purchased ammo for my very first shotgun I just purchased. I also want to add the two ladies at the register were so nice, patient, and professional during checkout.I am so glad decided to stop by this location to purchase my shotgun ammo. I will definitely be coming back when I finally decide to purchase my pistol. I highly recommend Hyatt Gun Shop as your FIRST stop if in the market for guns or ammo! Kevin Caldwells NC Concealed Handgun Carry training class was a joy to attend. He did an excellent job of involving all students, made the presentation interesting and interactive, and allowed just the right number of breaks to give the students time to interact and get to know each other. He went beyond the call of duty during qualification at the pistol range by providing helpful marksmanship hints and instruction. He conveyed the material in the course clearly, interestingly, and with mastery. He was professional, courteous, and displayed an avid interest in the subject which made the class interesting. I would highly recommend Kevins class.

This was my first gun purchase and the staff at Hyatt made this experience a great one. They were super busy on a Saturday morning and somehow they managed to still check on every customer. Scott greeted my husband and I and showed us some merchandise. Gary took over after we wanted to just look around. Scott attended to others. Gary was so knowledgeable of the firearms and what was needed to make sure I was covered as a gun owner. Gary took his time showed me detailed info about my selected firearm. He made sure I understood the item I was purchasing. As Gary assisted me, Shane the gunsmith, assisted my husband with questions about parts for his firearm. Shane even offered to oil my gun for me, as I was heading straight to the range. I enjoyed the experience as well as the conversation these guys provided but loved the attention that these gentlemen gave us as customers. I will definitely be returning soon. Gary even walk us out to our car with our purchase, as a little added security. Thanks for all your gentlemen.

I am recently new to the firearm scene in the Charlotte area and was told by a few acquaintances to stop by Hyatts. So glad I did! First experience in the store I was greeted and helped by Kevin. His professionalism and knowledge was above and beyond. The more I stopped by the more times I ran into him. My last visit with my girlfriend we came in to look at more handguns to add to my collection and conveniently walked out with more than just that...the best part of the story was he mentioned a concealed carry class he was teaching. We have been waiting to find a reputable place to take the course and we certainly made the right decision! Kevin was thorough, entertaining, knowledgeable, and exceeded expectations! I came into Hyatt not knowing anything about guns and wanting to purchase something for safety. I was impressed with the immediate greeting I received walking in the door. I looked around for a bit just because the store was so cool. While looking, several employees made sure I was doing okay. When I was finally ready to discuss options, Logan helped me through the process, spending time explaining what I would need to do as a SC resident, his different recommendations for my needs, etc. Throughout the whole process, he was patient and knowledgeable. I never felt overwhelmed or pushed to buy something. I will definitely be back!

Hyatt Coin and Gun is the best place to shop for gold, silver and platinum coins. Mitch and Matt are extremely helpful and always offer top shelf service. They are usually competitively priced with the on-line bullion dealers. Best of all, they have a stellar reputation and can be trusted implicitly. Their store is conveniently located close to the Charlotte-Douglas airport. I highly recommend anyone wanting to buy bullion or collector coins to pay them a visit!

I recently went to pick up my concealed carry piece and was helped by Gary R. ( I hope I remembered that correctly, I should have written this review immediately. ) who was a BEAST! I would recommend him to anyone, especially if youre picking up a Glock.He welcomed me to the family, helping me understand the operations, care and maintenance of the piece while keeping it light and fun. I went in Hyatts on Saturday to purchase a handgun. I was immediately greeted by Gary who offered to assist me. He was very knowledgeable and helpful in assisting me with my purchase! Id definitely refer anyone to hyatts and Gary for their handgun purchases!

The shop front belies whats inside, once you open the front door. It goes on forever the length of the building, with personnel to greet and direct you to your area of interest. Each employee was knowledgeable and pleasant. I got every question answered in full.

If you like buying firearms from a pawn shop and being treated like you are someone that frequents pawn shops for beer money, youll love it.I bought a nice Springfield 1911 online from Hyatt the night before and went to pick it up the next day. At pickup I was treated as a nuisance and not sure why. Staff seemed troubled that they had to go find the $1200 pistol Id already paid for.I had all intentions of buying a 357 revolver as well but decided against it while in the store. I just went on down the road to another dealer nearby and bought a Colt Python 4.25 barrel - awesome revolver by the way and I highly recommend.Edit: Thank you Mr Hyatt for responding but please just work on your customer service for future customers.

I attended class July 16th. I throughly enjoyed this class. It was very engaging. I took this class 5 years ago with Dan Starks and to my knowledge wasn’t this informative. Class was the perfect size!!!

Recently, my dad and I stopped by for the first time. Of course they were very busy. However, the first associate (that wasn’t helping another customer) greeted us and guided us to the reloading section. We were greeted again by an associate named Jason. Jason was knowledgeable and seemed to be an avid shooter as well. He answered several questions we had and went out of his way to check back stock for several items we inquired about- asset to the team. When we were done shopping and headed to the door, 3 more associated asked us if we found everything we needed, or if they could help us. In a world where people are quick to post negative experiences, I wanted to give credit where credit was due and post up about my positive experience.Overall, a great experience with what seemed to be a great gun store. We’ll definitely be back!!!

UPDATE: The day after leaving this post I received an email from Justin. Justin took care of the situation and ive changed this from 1 star to 4.This is my first review of any establishment in my life However I feel its important to let others know of my ongoing experience. I ordered a 9mm Walthers PPQ Steel Frame pistol. During my online transaction, the website stated that the pistol was In Stock. I decided to enter my credit card information and proceed with the transaction. I was given an ID number for my order and waited. After 3 weeks without any communication, I called. I spoke with someone that stated theyd call Walthers and call me back. Its now been another week since my call and I havent received a return call. As a businessman myself, I know you can sometimes get put in bad situations by a manufacturer. I understand that things happen that can cause delays. I understand all of those things however I dont understand why you cant communicate with your customers. A simple follow up call or email can go a long way. Just ignoring the issue doesnt make it go away. Im completely unsatisfied with the level of professionalism after the sale. My goal is not to bash this company and I hope someone within the organization will read this and put some effort into my concern. Sadly, Ive come here to see that this has happened to others and can only hope to make a follow up review about how things were corrected

I special ordered a gold desert eagle 50ae on 07-20-2020 that said would take within 4 to 5 months. Today, (1/7/2021) I email the company about getting an update on my purchase, which i receive an email from them saying they will be refunding my purchase. I fully understand the situation on to why they cancelled my order. The reason why i rated 1 star, is that the company never once called or emailed me in between 7/20/2020- and 1/7/2021 saying they would cancel my order. I personally had to contact them in order to find out the news. Maybe in the future I can have a better experience with this company.

This was my first time buying a gun online. I have NO words to describe how impressed I am with Hyatt Gun store. I called twice to ask two different questions about the order process, both times they answered everything with detail and were patient with me not knowing what I was doing.I placed my order and emailed my FFL to have them send their info over to Hyatt. Less than one hour later, my order confirmation email was sent and I had my UPS shipping number. What!?!They have excellent communication, which really helps put the buyer at ease... especially if the whole endeavor is new and you don’t know what to expect.My gun arrived at my FFL store SO quickly! It is perfect, exactly what I ordered, and exactly what they said it would be. The price was very fair and competitive (even better than other dealers) for the kind of gun I bought. There was nothing difficult about this process at all. If anything, they made me more open to the world of buying online. Whenever I get another gun, I will go out of my way to get it from Hyatt if I can’t find it locally. 10/10 would recommend in every aspect. So impressed! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Had my rifle ready to be picked up the day after I ordered it online. It was busy, but I was helped right away. Was told many times by different workers “thank you” on my way out, which is great to hear. Nice environment, nice workers, still had a decent selection of everything. I’ll be back for sure. Their selling used ammo as new. I bought 4 to 5 boxes of ammo just to find one the most expensive boxes to be missing half its ammo. When I called to speak with someone about getting refunded I got no answer. Left a message and didnt recieve a call back. Dont waste your time with these old-timers unless you are ready to overpay. They have been located in the hood for over 30 years and still dont know how to properly interact with the community their serving.

Just had Mitch Hyatt try to rip me off on a coin transaction only offering me less than 10% of the actual value on silver coins. had to take them to another place where I was paid $230 instead of the $24 mitch offered me. This is sad never take your coins here they will rip you off contact me for the info on where I had to take mine theyll pay up to 95% of its real value.cant believe how shady hyatts is smh the picture on the bottom is what I got from Atlantic metal exchange and Valentine versus the $24 hyatts tried to offer me and as for your reply they were worth more than what I hope you just tried to rip me off

This is the only store that remains stocked during the plandemic. Sure, prices are higher as a result, but where else can you go and get ammo off the shelf? Their staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and you can find just about everything you need on sight.

I have an Ithica shotgun that had very serious water damage. I didnt think it could be brought back to its original condition. I was shocked when they brought it out. It looked brand new! Incredible job.Also, when I went to pick it up, I brought my wife along, as she is interested in getting a hand gun. We dealt with two different guys. Both were very helpful and knowledgeable. Their selection is unbelievable.

Call this afternoon and spoke with gunsmith Steve who was very helpful over the phone. I decided to drive the 1.25 hours to get there and drop my gun off for repairs . 20 minutes later he had it working perfectly for $30.18!!!No upsales, no hassle, just a great gunsmith and stand up guy who helped out this handicapped veteran fix a long time gun issue.Definitely recommend Hyatts gunsmithing team.

After explaining that I am legally authorized to own, carry and purchase a Sig Sauer P226 with 15 round capacity ( my duty gun, wanted to purchase a Legion ) as a L/E officer. It is Hyatt gun shops policy, as per Robert, Not to ship to L/E or Military personnel even when it IS legal to own. No regard or support for Law enforcement from other States, so disappointing.*Edited to add: The reply to my review only confirms my initial impression that this establishment is not L/E friendly.A store policy that is more restrictive than ones own Government is disturbing.This exception, made by this owner, to prohibit the sale of a legal to purchase, own and carry firearm to Men and Woman that have dedicated their life to serve and protect their communities is a disgrace.

Brought in a gun to sell that I know the value of. Their guy told me it was worth 50% less than it was appraised at. One of their employees offered to buy it for the full amount privately and the owner kicked me out of the store. Would not recommend and will not return.

Why charge a $29 processing fee per gun when no other Gun store has to do the same? Sounds like taking advance of people to me.Edit: Their prices are astronomically high compared stores that are even right down the street. Larry has responded below. Why would you pay more for an item and then pay an additional $29 which is your job. No other store in the state charges this fee unless you are only transferring through them. What they think we forgot was the $15 Brady fee they were charging. They did away with it to replace it with a fee twice as expensive. Buy somewhere else. Use the savings for ammo, training, first aid kits, or lunch.

I have been waiting for my permit to be processed since august 2020 due to the COVID pandemic it just got here. my gun was payed off since September 2020. I just received my permit today, went to Hyatt to retrieve my gun (that has been paid for since September) I get there and I was told that my gun was resold..... is this legal? I have bought three guns from them and never had a bad complaint till today. Never will they see my money AGAIN!

Before you buy a gun from Hyatt, make sure you price check it and don’t make the mistake that I did and put it on layaway because they won’t price match and they won’t refund you. Hyatt will mark up their guns far higher than competitors (even the used guns are sometimes higher than the cost to buy it brand new) and then they hit you with a bunch of processing fees that they don’t tell you about up front when you put an item on layaway. I know we are in the middle of a pandemic but that doesn’t mean you should price gouge your customers. They won’t forget it.

Gunsmithing..Brought in an AR to have the front sight block pinned on and a muzzle break pin and welded on. The muzzle break was done extremely well and I’m happy with it. The front sight post initially had some wobble but they warrantied the work and fixed it for me. I am happy I chose Hyatt’s and will continue to come here in the future.

The staff here are very helpful and friendly, and the store has a large selection to choose from.I had the pleasure working with DJ Hobbs on picking out the best option for myself, and I couldnt be happier with the selection. DJ is very personable, and has a great deal of knowledge of firearms.Highly recommend stopping in at Hyatt and speaking with DJ.

Placed an order on 9/10 picked up from my chosen FFL today 9/14, so shipping was quick. However gun stated new but it does have some marks where nitride finish looked marred on the slide. It will be my edc so it will eventually get nicks and dings. Gifted a $25 gift certificate, great customer service, will shop with them again very soon!!!!

Ive been to many Gun shops in the area. However this location is be far the best! Not necessarily for the prices, but for the best customer service, professionalism, knowledge of their products and the small town kindness of the staff. The two gentleman DJ Hobbs and Anthony are the best. I will continue to shop here due to their massive amount of help. Definitely keep up the great work Hyatts Gun shop your customer service is unmatched.

Good online service. Paid $1100 for a $800 gun.. but.. these days its worth every penny. Shipped much faster than the disclaimer in the website stated. Already purchased another gun from here.

Good experience at their store today. Folks there were not pushy and they were patient with explaining to me about the different pistols I was looking at. I was ready to make a purchase at this time and they had what I was looking for and made the transaction seamless. It was a plus that they take Apple Pay. Super easy and over all a very pleasant experience.

Really disappointed. I was told they had a used Springfield P9 LSP in stock. This is a bucket list gun for me. So, I called the store and at first they couldn’t find it. But, Josh called me back and said they had it. Unfortunately, I couldn’t answer the phone but Josh left a nice voicemail. Over the next week, I called called the Store and Josh back. I had a few questions but was ready to purchase. Josh never returned my messages. And, nobody from the store bothered to help Josh out and handle my situation for him.I live 2 hours away and work full time. So, I can’t just zoom out there to take a look.Again, really disappointed and will probably think twice before trying to buy from them.

I had DJ Hobbs helping me out, and he was incredibly diligent and personable. Had some issues with locating my gun I had previously purchased, but he stayed with me the whole time till it was found and was exceptional. Highly recommend DJ and Hyatt. Hats off to Larry and his wife for an amazing store.

Never will spend a single penny in there again. Theyre not about taking care of their customers/clients and making things right, they only care about $$$. And theyre also overpriced compared to many places. Yeah were in a pandemic, but that has in fact helped most firearms stores sales, and if more product was available theyd be having a banner year.

Boy did they see me coming, dont shop here unless you like being overcharged. I feel extremely ripped off. Paid nearly 400 dollars over MSRP for a Ruger ar-556. Specifically what I got is a 820(msrp) dollar ruger with a free float handguard that I paid 1200 for BEFORE any taxes etc. Note they were also selling the standard ruger ar556 with out the free float system and the MSRP on that one is $799 and they were selling for $899 which I can see as semi reasonable in this time but probably not necessary and probably just them trying to make more money of a first time gun buyers judging by how much I was overcharged. I also got a Beretta which was also 100 over msrp. And you think someone walking in there and spending 2500+ on firearms would maybe be able to get more than 40 rounds of the type of ammo he needs? Nope. I spent $120 on 40rds of 5.56 target ammo, 50 rds of 9mm target ammo, and 25 rds of 9mm hollow point which is all they would allow. And again this is over priced even more so than a lot of online retailers and my other store I bought ammo at(Beltway) they actually let me buy 200 rounds of 9mm and 100 of .223.Only good thing I have to note is the guy I delt with who was nice and patient. Carried a beratta I dont remember his name though.You definitely wont ever get my business again and Ill warn others to stay away.

What a wonderful experience It was that I had with Little Kevin. I say little because there was 2 men by the name Kevin. Well I went in with a budget and left spending just that. An outstanding store with great staff. I have been purchasing guns from Hyatt for a number of years now. I live over an hour away and have always purchased from Hyatt from pistols to high end shotguns. The staff is deep in wisdom and helpful with every transaction. I recently purchased a nice Browning over under shotgun and they had to order it. Kevin was extremely helpful in keeping me of the status of the order. They keep earning my business with every interaction.

Bought a Taurus G2c was told gun I wanted was there drove 25 minutes and wasn’t there so I bought different gun very nice people , but from other stores gun was marked up $100 over most every one else , still went ahead and bought from them very nice people. With tax and paperwork almost doubled price at different stores . Not really complaining but ck prices at academy or other shops before buying. The money I used was extra so didnt mind doing it .Great service great selection.

Ordered a firearm online at 8:00pm, it was ready for pickup at approximately 11:30am the next day, Hyatt Gun was on the ball there. Went to pick it up and the salesman I dealt with couldnt have been more helpful, pleasant and answered all my questions cheerfully, thank you Patrick. Would definitely recommend this store.

Great folks to deal with on the phone regarding online orders. Make sure to follow up if you dont receive a shipping confirmation within a few days, as they have a robust fraud filter that may accidentally void your order; unbeknownst to you. This happened to me and they were able to correct within minutes.

Larry has always been fair with me, has helped me get hard to find guns at times, in the coin shop the guys are very knowledgeable and also fair. The gunsmiths are great and can trouble shoot and fix most anything you throw at them.

At a time when freedom in America is in legitimate jeopardy, this gun shop up prices every gun and all their ammo by at least 20%. They are taking advantage of people trying to protect their families and their freedom. I am a free market dude like any other but there is a fine line between meeting demand and taking advantage of fearful customers.I purchased a gun off Armslist from a dealer for $1700. The exact same gun in this store was listed for $2300.Stick to the box chains who are not jacking up prices or reputable FFL’s.

Have purchased two firearms and holsters here. They are EXTREMELY knowledgeable and very helpful. Most of them have prior military experience, and they arent your usual salespeople, which I appreciate when Im buying these items. Ive worked with Henry there, and he is incredible- highly recommend!!! Will be back for any future purchases.

Great experience at Hyatt Gun Shop. Dropped by after ordering a handgun online and I was lucky enough that Henry helped me. Not only did Henry do a great job walking me through the process, but he kept me entertained the entire time. I’d had a rough day and came in after work but Henry made me forget about my day. GREAT experience at Hyatt and I highly recommend Henry. I will be buying another gun shortly and will make sure I seek him out.

Wife and I did a lot of research and chose Hyatt’s. Although their prices are a little higher I felt that Kevin was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions clearly. He never pressured us into buying anything we did not need nor did we ever feel obligated to buy something that day. It was a great atmosphere and they really knew what they were doing. You gotta be either rich or desperate to buy from these people because theyre robbing people blind. If folks were just a tad more patient they could get the same gun for cheaper elsewhere. My buddy bought a basic remington 870 there for $750 when I saw the same exact model selling for $400, and this was only a month into the dam pandemic lol. Ive read a few comments and the owner is blaming the high prices of guns on the ammo shortage, but then you have so many other gun shops in the area affected by the same pandemic and the same ammo shortage, selling their firearms at a competitive price range and I dont see them marking up their price tags by nearly 100%. So whats the big deal?

Dont bother wasting time and money here, youre better off buying at Academy. Academy has better deals than this place. For being the largest gun store you would think that they would have lower prices than everyone else.

Today was a excellent experience at Hyatts because of the wonderful service from Mr D J Hobbs. He went way beyond the call of duty, due to me not knowing what I really wanted and looking over many scopes and pistols before deciding on the Nightforce ATACR 4-16×50 scope. Thank you for your understanding and patience. His knowledge is outstanding to be such a young man. Thanks again for making it a pleasant experience to spend that kind of money.

Excellent service and they are very knowledgeable. I was looking for a buffer tube but they ran out. They found a completed buffer tube kit that was laying around and they removed the buffer tube from it and sold it to me. It was better quality from what I wanted and paid less than I thought I was going to pay. I was very impressed and happy. I definitely would recommend them.
