Looking for a decent automotive shop has always been something of a crapshoot to me. You either take your automobile to a dealership and get absolutely hammered on the prices, labor and materials. Or you know someone who knows someone, that said that this person is a really good mechanic. Or you can call around and try to get some estimates over the phone. That is, if you can finally speak to a real live person, that actually lives whithin the boundaries of North America. Or you can read some reviews...on virtually anything, from anyone about anywhere.I enjoy writing reviews and taking pictures and posting them as well.I did a combination of most of these things while looking for a new mechanic. And right on the corner of Sunset and Statesville rd, I found Fairway tire and auto.It seems that I am just one of the more recent customers, in a perpetual stream of thousands who have migrated to, run across, read a great review and/or been recommended by another to patronage this particular automotive business.Used tires, check. In and out/drive through inspection, check. Alignment, check. Transmission, engine work, check. You name it, they do it.Mrs. Melissa was behind the front counter. I introduced myself to Joe, one of the co-owners. Hector, Mike and Colby(Im sure that I missed someone or another...), were all friendly, professional, personable and trustworthy. You are dealing with and outstanding caliber of individuals.More importantly, the prices are reasonable and the work is done in a timely and diligent manner.They had literally dozens of satisfied and repeat customers who were in and out there...all day long.The other customers assured me that this is not and anomaly. They are always doing business like this; each and every single day that they are open.If you are looking for a trustworthy, professional, who is reasonably priced and honest automotive business, this is the perfect place for you to bring your automobile. Fairway Tire and Auto. This particular business gets my highest recommendation. You will not be disappointed. I rented a truck to help with a move. The people here are very nice. The truck that I wanted was a 16 foot. The truck that they gave me was a 25 foot truck (with no increase in pricing). It was a monster to handle. The plus side is that I was able to pack everything in one move. The downside was getting in and out of this monster. LOL, I joked with my sons that I definitely got a workout that weekend. The process to return was easy. I would use them again, but maybe double check that the truck size that I need is truly available.

Nice guys,try to get you in and out if they can. Got a few used tires that were good. But the last used one kept losing air after i drove off. Ive also got two mew tires from them. Over all really not a bad place to do business with. Ill keep going back

DO NOT GO HERE!!! If I could give this place zero stars, I would! This is the first time in my life where I feel like I actually have to write a bad review. They gave me a quote of $260 for my brakes and charged me $400 after they did the labor. The noise was still there and my brake light ended up coming on so I took it back to them. They then said they adjusted the caliber and the brake light went off. A week later the brake light came back on and the sound never went away. I called again to complain and the owner says to me and I quote “well I don’t feel like I did anything wrong, so have a good one” and hung up in my face. I paid $400 to literally get nothing fixed. I took my car to another shop and they told me they literally did nothing and everything needed to be done. Scott or whatever his name is took advantage of me because he seen I didn’t know anything about cars. Please take your hard earned money elsewhere. They are not worth the hassle.

Terrible tire warranty for 30 days. They put a rotten tire on my besties car and we tried to see what they could do about it. They said nothing after 30 days. They knew that tire was bad when they put it on. She only drives that car to work and back. And put about 150 miles on it. I wouldnt tell ANYONE to go there if they were the last service station standing! Terrible customer service. Once they got your money you are no longer needed by them. And they didnt care if I rated them as bad because others already did it before. Im not the first and I wont be the last.

They are not professional here. Every time I call they tell me to come this they or that day. when the day came to drop my car off it’s a totally different story. This happened to me twice. The last time I told the guy running the ship that I would just find somewhere else, his response was ok thank you without a care in the world. If I could give zero stars I would.

Not sure how to rate. One hand, they didnt have the rental truck reserved. On the other they did make it happen but I had to wait hours. They blame Budget Truck but it is their business partner and they should call people ahead of time and tell them something is off with the reservation. ***NEVER EVER EVER EVER USE BUDGET TRUCK RENTAL, they send confirmations and the truck is never there. This happened 4 times in a row!!!!!!!!!******** other companies called us and said they dont even rent the size truck we were confirmed to have.

Purchase a tire tire blew out when back to them stated the warranty was just for 30 days and asked did i want to purchase another tire.I politely said No!!!!Put to much oil when doing a oil change for my BMW!!!!! POOR WORK Poor QUANTITY!!!!

I have had four separate experiences with this business. I often read reviews on establishments/businesses That I would find helpful in regards to whom I choose. Not one single time have I had any issue with Fairway. This place has exceeded my expectations for every visit. Scott is very professional and courteous. I have spoken with three or four other members of this business and have had the same exact experience. Very thorough and very fair. This is the place to go to for your automotive needs.

Fair honest and efficient service

Just find another place. Brought car in for an electrical fix. Was told it would take about three days, but heard nothing by the end of the week. When I called, they had not had time to get to it. I understand businesses can get busy, but I was without a car for six days and nobody was contacting me to communicate the extended time it would take. When I did call, I had an extremely unfriendly experience with one of the gentlemen who worked in the shop. Unprofessional, condescending, and felt like he was going out of his way to be rude. It was almost as if he was looking to take his frustrations or anger out on someone? I asked if I could come in and pick up my car the next day (Sunday) and he told me that I should go to church instead? I was not being rude or was not upset through the entire conversation, I just wanted to come in and get my car back. He then started speaking poorly about his colleagues who he said were not calling me to keep me updated because they don’t care. I think the gentlemen’s name was Hector, but I could be wrong. I drove there right after the conversation, got my car, and never went back. People have bad days, I get it, but this type of customer service was an obvious red flag.

Reasonable and friendly staff

I personally love these guys. I go in with my Toyota Yaris all the time whenever I need anything worked on. These guys offer competitive prices and wont give you the walk around. They get straight to the point. Yeah sometimes they take Abit longer than a Firestone might, but thats because they are actually making sure they can fix it or not. Not try to sell you something brand new when you could have fixed the problem.Plus these guys have a sense of humor which I appreciate. Whenever I have a car issue Im not usually happy about it, but these guys can cheer me up!

Drove vehicle to shop with a brake problem. Towed vehicle from shop with a transmission problem. Fairway found two codes for transmission. Dealership for vehicle diagnosed disconnected transmission control module connector. Corrective action. Reconnect connector. Not a loose connection... disconnected. Never had problems with the transmission prior and still dont have a problem with transmission. $250 extra expenses for a problem I never had.

I have been taking my cars here for more than 15 years. They do a great job for reasonable prices without trying to unnecessarily upsell you. Your safety is always top of mind and work is never done unless you agree to it. They offer a variety of services including tire replacement and repairs, brakes, oil changes, suspension, diagnostics and engine repair. If they cant do the work, they can refer you to an honest specialty shop that can. Get an estimate on the next car repair you need from them and compare - you wont be sorry.

Great place and prices

I went there on 2 different occasions to get a tire changed out. Everything was fine when I went in, but ended up wit 2 cracked rims. No help from the manager. Told me that the rim couldve cracked going around a curve? Yes I definitely will not be going back to them. Highly dissapointed.

Ive been going there for 5 years. Ive had car dealerships tell me I need extensive work only to have Fairway tell me theres nothing wrong with my vehicle. They have fair pricing. They dont try to charge you for something that isnt wrong. They try to get your vehicle to you when promised but they make sure its right before they do.

These people are great. Every time I’ve been there they have given great service at a very reasonable price. Yesterday stopped in because I had a nail in my tire. Fixed it in short order. Don’t go anywhere else.

This place is great! I needed some major brake work done and first went to NTB. They quoted me $930. Obviously I said HELL NO and checked elsewhere. Went and got the parts myself and went to FAIRWAY. I only paid $140 for labor. Caliper, Pads, and Rooters are on tight! Shout out to them and my boy Jamal.

This is an excellent place for good tires new and use friendly staff not the biggest park lot and sometimes wait times long but for the most part I am satisfied whenever I visit this place.

I have done business with Fairway for about 4 years. They have worked on at least four of my vehicle and have done a wonderful job. I recently had my vehicle worked on and wasnt pleased with the mechanic. He asked me for a tip$$$ and sat down on my tire to eat a sandwich while working on my vehicle. This isnt a reflection on Fairway but that really bothered me.

BEST PART IS THIS SHOP DOES NOT HAVE INSURANCE... THIS SHOP DOES NOT HAVE INSURANCE... I NOW HAVE TO SEEK LEGAL AND GO TO COURT TO TRY AND GET MY MONEY BACK... SCOTT THE MANAGER IS ONE HELL OF A GUY, I ATTEMPTED TO MAKE CONTACT BUT SCOTT FELT HELPING A PREVIOUS CUSTOMER WHOS VEHICLE IS NOW WRECKED DO TO HIS SHOP WAS NOT IMPORTANT AND ADVISED HIS STAFF TO TAKE A MESSAGE... Im sure I would have paid at least 4 times as much at the BMW dealership, but these guys did a fantastic job fixing my car at a good price. The owners Joe and Scott are good people and really aim to please!I had to come back cause my check engine lite came on! The Mechanic immediately said we dont work on those cars I was like YOU JUST FIXED THIS CAR A MONTH AGO!! IM UPSET TO SAY THE LEAST!

They Take Forever And A Day To Diagnose An Issue (Literally More Than 24 Hrs), If You Leave Your Car Theyll Take Their Sweet Precious Time Working On It (Fix Others While Yours Just Sits There Because Youre Not There To See What Theyre Doing) And Leave All Your Doors Unlocked, Plus They Do The Easy Jobs First Vs First Come First Serve Basis.................... Also, They Charge $6500.00 For A Used Engine With 170,000 Miles On It! A Straight Rip Off......... Only Thing Good About Them Is Payment Plans For Work Rendered And They Actually Do Check Credit For That!!!!!

Horrible. Ive been going here for years and I dont known if the staff has changed, but I requested a tire for my vehicle and paid for it, come to find out they never changed it! If youre that busy when you cant or dont check your work, then forward your customers somewhere else. Thats dangerous and uncalled for. Too bad, I really liked this place. This is the third inccident like this.Update: the owner and the manager apologize and got this taken care of. They made sure I received what I paid for. This is what I can come to appreciate. Went above and beyond to help a stranded motorist (me)! Traveling through Charlotte, hit object on freeway, flattened right side tires on my A6. Found these guys, called, they recommended a great flatbed towing service. Tires are fairly special, Continental 265/35/20, they searched and found them local, drove an hour to pick them up, then balanced and installed same day. Awesome service as they didn’t know me and I had never purchased from them. Defiiitely recommend! FYI, my tires were under warranty, mfr recommended Discount Tire, they told me I’d have to wait 5-7 business days for tires to arrive even after I told them I didn’t live here. I’m done with national brands, go local wherever possible!!

They charged extra for regular car tinted windows for state inspection. Never charged before and was not told before that it would be an extra charge.

Although they were unable to help me, they were very attentive, offered suggestion and recommendations. I found that helpful.

Took my car for a front end alignment had to keep the car at the shop for 3 days. Whenever I would ask about my car they would say they had another car they had to work on even though I called in advance and they said they would have the car done the day of.

Recently went in for an oil change and tire rotation. Told me it would take an hour and cost $45. Called back and said Oil filter was cross-threaded and would be an additional $85 and take two hours. Told them I just needed it done. Then, I received a call back that there was a bad gasket and a bolt had broken in the oil pan and that it would take 6 hours and would run me $600. I was skeptical and at the very least needed a second opinion. Took it over to Meineke and the changed the oil, got the oil filter off and the new one on no problem, and replaced the loose nut that we were told was causing the oil leak in about an hour for $44.

They put my shocks and struts in for a fair price. They also showed me the mistakes from another shop that wielded my mufflers on. I took my car back to the other chain for them to fix it for free.

Run far far away from this place. I purchased 4 brand new tires 9 months to date from this post. I have not driven over 10k miles but my rear tires are completely bald. I was told I had a 40k mile warranty on all my tires but they failed to mention that you have a record if tire rotation. Well hard to do when the place you took it too is closed. Long story short I wouldnt trust this place, the workers at squirrely and the inside staff is rude.

This is the worst experience i ever had. I dropped my truck off on a saturday afternoon to get my ac worked on. I was in a rush so i told the guy behind the counter that i plan to leave it here and im no rush to get it back, but please give me a call to let me know whats the problem. As i was leaving they pulled it into the bay to do a diagnostic. So i gave them a couple hours to call me to see what the problem was and they never called. so i called them and i was told they were still working on it, and they would call me after they were done. Working on it, for a diagnostic, oh well. whatever. So they never called back, so i called them and was put on hold for about 15 minutes before I hung up. I called back later and no one answered the phone. That was no big deal due to they were closing. So the next day i had to go out of town and i noticed my truck out in front. No big deal. I got back in town a few hours later and got caught up at the traffic light and i noticed that my window look like it was down. I drove over there and not only the window was down, the door was unlock. oh it gets better. While i opened the door, i heard a ding ding, indicating that the keys were in the ignition. Keep in mind, it was sitting like that overnight and not in a gate or anything. I was worried maybe someone could still my radio, but dang, my whole truck couldve been missing. So i will never ever go back there and would not recommend anyone else going there.

I went in for a used tire, the tire I bought and had put on was bad the next day. I had gotten a bubble in the side wall... I went back and I told them about it. They remembered me and within minutes had my car up on the stands and another tire put on. They didnt even charge me the second time which was awasome! Great people and I love the fact its a local shop. They are true to their word and that is hard to find now a days. I will be going back this summer to do my clutch and a few other things I cant due myself.

Took my car in for diagnostic check on a Friday. Was told they were booked and to come back on Monday at 8am. I was there at 7:47am. Was told it would be a few minutes since they had to check to see what was left over from Saturday. While waiting, a gentleman came in with a tire issue. They immediately fixed the mans tire. I was ok with this. However a second gentleman came in with an issue with his car that had been worked on the previous Saturday at this shop. I was then told that they had to fix his problem first and I could wait or leave my car with them. By this time I was furious and told them never mind and left. When I arrived home, I told my husband about the experience. He called the shop and was told that there was only one mechanic that could perform the diagnostic and he wasnt available. This information was not divulged to me. My husband was also told that I needed to be patient. Manager was very rude and not at all interested with my issues. Too many other places in this big city to fret over these rude guys.

Does quality work with fair prices; stands by their work. Staff is courteous and friendly which is always a plus.

They charge you according to how they are feeling the day you come in. I bought two new tires for $142. I came back a month later to buy two more and he charged me $ 151. The service tech wasnt going to balance the tires until my friend told him to!#SMH

I truly wouldnt advise anyone go to this place. They are very unprofessional & money hungry. I bought my car for a tire alignment & a oil change. The next day I get home I see two big ass puddles of oil leaking under my car, I take it back to them & they tell me they will look at it. I arrive at 2pm, they dont take my keys until 4pm as I watch atleast 4 to 5 customers go ahead of me. Then when they finally take my car, he comes back & tells me I have to pay 55 dollars for a issue that wasnt present before they touched my car. I beg & plead do not go to this guys, go spend your money with mechanics that actually care about the customers.

Refused to help since it was his short day and refused to refer me to anyone else because he was the best.

Came to get my tire plug. Left with tire light still on. Was told that the light will go off as i start to drive. Woke up this morning, tire light still on. Got off work came back so they can see whats wrong why the light wont go off. Young guy who plugged the tire yesterday was like i can help you again. I told him no let me talk to the manager. The manager came out. I felt like he wasnt trying to hear me. I calmed down a little and told him what happen. He immediately get someone more experienced to help with my tire. Also, he fix the tire without me having to pay anymore money. Hector the manager fixed the problem.

I took my car there & told them it was idoling & there is a power steering leak. Every mechanic there was so dumb that they couldnt find the problem. The Mexican idiot who I was talking to said they couldnt find a problem. I said dude when you cut my car on it goes straight to 2 & my car isnt moving. That means its idoling. They are incompetent at that place & they will probably make your car worse. Dont take your car there. They arent smart & they dont know what they are doing.
