Doscher’s IGA - Charleston is a wonderful shopping experience as you can find meats and other items that may not be readily available in other supermarkets especially the Whole Foods next door. Everybody in Doschers is nice and super friendly. This is a great place to shop and get all the food you need at quality prices. I have always been a fan of Doschers.

They have the best meats for southern cooking. No one else sells it. My mother ALWAYS has me drive across town to buy meat to season her greens and peas.

Fresh meat... They had a butcher on hand. The cashier and the person bagging the groceries up were very polite and made us laugh. The only thing that I wont buy from here is their produce. To me, they are priced to high.

Doscher’s is a good store if you’re looking for something that is cheaper! but the only concern is the smelling odor in the store. this needs to be changed because as for some people, they may think that the odor is coming from the food that they sell! so that’s not probably a good idea. nevertheless though, this is a good store but i could see some improvement.

Meat stacked way to high off refrigeration. I have bought many steaks and pork cuts and they have all been good. Still products stored in the temperature danger zone. Doschers once had a huge presence in the area. I miss the local independent grocers.

The cashier was very helpful in assisting me and assuring that I remembered to swap out a bucket (1of5) that was damaged and needed replacing. She may have noticed my impairment and disoriented, but politely helped me complete a transaction that I would normally have an aid assisting me.Thank you!I wish I knew her name, as at the time I didnt realize how much she made my shopping experience a great success!

I been going to IGA stores since I was a kid but the service was great and the food product.

1st visit. Was truly & pleasantly surprised at meat quality & price. The pork shoulder was nicely trimmed with far less fat than Ive been getting elsewhere, about 1inch fat cap vs 3+.

My second Place shopped because it convenient for me and they have variety of food and fresh meat.

Meats did not look fresh for my purpose.

0 stars for them. The meat cooler in the middle of the floor is very dirty. The meat in it looks like it was defrost a few times and refreezed. Theg needs to do better. After seeing that it turned me off from wanting to purchase even the dry goods. So I left my cart of items and went to Lowes grocery store where the setting is appealing

5 stars for their excellent meat department...great variety, fresh & reasonable prices. As a bonus, this location actually has very helpful & knowledgeable butchers. Ill drive the extra 13 miles just to purchase meat.

Always good. The manager is always present and smiling the staffs are helpful and if you go early the butcher will cut up the meat for you. Unfortunately today I went late so Today my oxtail were not cut to how I like them.

The cleanliness of the store and the price and selection of meat I was looking for was second to none.

It was disgusting. All the fruits and vegetables were rotten in produce some of the meat was outdated in the meat department some of the meat was old in the meat department and the restroom was horrible I am contacting corporate on Monday morning... This used to be one of my favorite places to shop unfortunately NEVER AGAIN!!!! NEVER!!!!

Im giving this a 4 star review because of their selection in the meat department. That being said, I really wanted to spend my money their today (6/13/2020) but upon entering they had barricades set up that was directing foot traffic in one door and out the other. Its against fire code to tell me what means of egress I can use to exit the building. They literally had stacks of pallets blocking people from using an exit. You HAD to exit out a specific door. Yeah, thats against fire code. With the public entrance of the building, you cannot block the public from using any means of public egress. I was so fired up about it, I left the store and didnt spend any money there. And I walked out the Enter Only doors.

That was my first time going, the store looks dinge and the meat looks old. My advise is to check expiration dates and when buying meat from here make sure its nice and red, not dark and brown which was the color of meat they had.

I went specifically looking for luncheon meat. Its something that is not sold everywhere, but my husband tried it and he absolutely loved it. I was told its the only place that I can get it. When I got there, it was in a log or loaf. I wasnt sure if I had the right thing, but a man that work there saw that I looked a little confused. He came over and asked me if he could help me. He told me that I had the right item and if I needed anything sliced, to take it over to the Butcher and he would do it. I took it over to the butcher he asked me what I was using it for, and he sliced it right up in less than 5 minutes. The array of meats that they have is ridiculous! Ive never seen so much meat in my life. It was a quick visit, I got exactly what I wanted, and the customer service was good. The prices are excellent as well. Give them a try.

Spoke to the manager about the condition of the males bathroom these picture says it all says he hasnt checked it in 2 days. Why would a company that has so many shoppers allow a bathroom to be like this out of order for 2 days but still open to the public. I bet if the store was in Mount Pleasant are on Daniels Island this would not happen I wonder why!

Even the men in the back are friendly if you ask them a question about meats. This is a very comfortable store to grocery shop in. The music keeps I very very happy you dont want to leave. The cashiers are always pleasant and friendly with a bit of Southern hospitality. The shells are clean and not dusty.👍

Meat section is nasty. The entire back wall of the store is only poorly working coolers and endless stacks of raw meats. 90 percent of them looked like they were there for at least a month. I was so grossed out that I didnt touch a single thing in the store.

Wanted some oxtails. They were old, the blood was black. I use to love coming here. Wont be back to shop here. Meats stored improperly. Some meats not cold. You can smell the meats not fresh. The prices are to high for that old meat.

The customer service at this store is just AWFUL. The cashiers NEVER greet you and then have the audacity to say Have a nice day.... with a frown on their faces! The manager or supervisor or store owners really need to address this. I hate going to this store just because you have to deal with these type of cashiers. It doesnt matter which one you go to because ALL of them have the SAME attitude.

The meat selection here beats every store in town. They have good old fashioned butchers who know their meat. Also they carry some eclectic items you wont find elsewhere. Plus shopping here is always like taking a trip back in time. They carry a lot of SC Grown certified produce. While not a fancy store, this store is an amazing place to find certain items. Locals know why Doschers is the last of the original Charleston grocers.

Nasty rotten, green, grey meat. The butcher didnt even care when I told him about it. Be careful about buying meat from there.

Nice clean store with friendly associates. The street offers dry goods, fresh food, frozen food, pet and household essentials. The produce department is a bit lackluster but the meat department makes up the difference offering a wide selection of meats!

I enjoy shopping at Doschers it is a very reasonable price grocery store, but you really need to take better care within your meats, I found a lot of rotten meats in my shopping experience with the grocery store today. that hasnt happened in a long time, but I know sometimes things get out of hand ,and I take that into perspective but overall a very good store.

Doschers is an old fashioned, community grocery store. The clientele is blue collar, and the selection is modest. They have low prices and one of the last functioning supermarket Butcher shops.

Stopped in for a few items, very nice staff that double bagged my items. Clean and friendly personal. I will stop in again

This location is located in a medium sized shopping center with various types of stores and businesses located in and around the area. This store brand has been in the Charleston SC area for years and is one of maybe 2 still available.

Their meat is always fresh. Love their prices. Everyone always friendly.

You can find all the smoked meats you need and good prices

This is not a nice grocery store. It is not high end. What it is and always has been is the ONLY store in town where you can buy the staple cuts of meat for lowcountry and Gullah cuisine, like smoked hocks and jowls and Turkey wings, oxtail and neck bones, and a whole bunch of different cuts. I even found goat meat here for Jamaican goat curry. Support for local family businesses!
