We saw the sign for House of Jerky while walking around downtown. I have a pretty serious jerky habit and thought this would be a great way to support it. The owner was at the register and welcomed us in. He was very friendly and shared the best sellers with us. We went with his favorite (original peppered). It was very fresh and soft enough to make the wife happy. The vacuum pack the jerky which helps keep it fresh, but it does flatten it out and cause it to stick in a lump. If you like beef jerky, it is definitely worth a stop.My reviews are based on my experience where a 3-star review is exactly what I expected, neither good nor bad, just average. A 4-star review means something was extra special; service, food, location, etc. and is a great review for most places. A 5-star review means I was blown away with the experience. These are hard to come by and are reserved for the best of the best. I think many reviewers are too quick to throw five star reviews up for an average experience. A 2- star reviews means something was disappointing and a 1- star review means it was a bad experience all around. I hope this helps to understand the way I review places. See you out there!

It was a pleasant surprise. The owner was there and answered all our questions. The jerky was delicious. I had the buffalo jerky and my wife had tue teriyaki turkey. You can also reach them online.

Very overpriced jerky. It is good quality, but clearly a tourist trap with the prices. No samples of the “exotic” jerky.

Visiting SC this past week and spotted this place in Charleston. I am a happy camper. I love the sweet and spicey. Going to order on line because it’s a 5 hour drive for me. Not crazy about the natural, a little too tough but that’s just me. I will be ordering sweet and spicey. Talked to the owner who was really nice. Please thank your son for his service. I will definitely visit on my next trip.

Absolutely love this place! The owner is an all around great guy and the selection entails a wide range of products. I havent had a bad bag of jerky yet from this place. Be warned! Some of his spicy ones can be very warm, but great taste nonetheless.If youre visiting Charleston, make this one of your stops!

In Charleston for a few days and just happened to walk by this shop — and delighted I did! Bought some of their Red Chili Pepper Jerky and it’s absolutely delicious. I love very spicy beef jerky but not so keen when it’s toosweet. This one is perfect for me. Will have to go back before I leave Charleston.

Excellent Jerky! Highly recommend. House of Jerky in Charleston, SC is straight and to the point. You walk in, theres jerky. You buy jerky. You eat jerky. You then sit back and try to comprehend the amazingness you just experienced. You cant. All you know is, it was delicious. And frankly, thats all you need. I bought the Pork Maple Jerky and will happily do so again.

Who doesnt like jerky? Ok, there may be a few who dont. Just leaves more for those who do. This place is quaint and has a wide selection. They are expensive though but delicious.

This has good jerky with some more exotic animals available. It is very expensive, but jerky is expensive and where else can you get rabbit, python, and shark jerky in the same place.I got a pack of kangaroo jerky and an air-dried South African jerky called biltong. Nice and soft. Do not panic at the prices as it is very good. Now I can say my dog has eaten kangaroo.

The different varieties of jerky made it feel like jerky heaven. From Alligator to shark to even pineapple jerky thet had it all. The staff member on duty wad friendly and knowledgeable.

My son sent me some jerky from here and it was great so it was nice to visit the place in person to see their extensive offering of so many different jerkies

Employee was rude from the beginning. We are from out of town down here for a wedding. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone. No need to stop in. Im sure you can find jerky somewhere else in Charleston. If I could leave 0 stars I would.

They have jerky made from almost everything from fish to fruit and beef to gator all at competitive prices.

The clerk assured me their jerky didn’t need to be refrigerated after opening. I found out that this is not true because mind molded after about 2 weeks.

Small store with exotic jerky. Seems to be a bit pricey but worth stopping by.
