It was a wonderful experience having my eyes examined in the West Ashley Pearle Vision location. It went smoothly and quickly and I was very impressed by the doctors assistant who did several tests before I saw the doctor. Would recommend to all my friends.

Pearle again provided fast, friendly, fast, skilled service one my progressive lenses and the single vision special use midrange. They are great.

Pearle Vision in Charleston, SC was SO good to me. They went out of their way to do me a favor as I was traveling through that they received zero payment for. They just did it to help me out! I am forever grateful! I couldn’t recommend more. We need kindness now more than ever.

This is the worst experience I have ever had with any company and I am so disappointed, because the doctor is wonderful she is amazing and I would love to continue to go to her if I didnt had to deal with her rude and disrespectful receptionist. I felt like so disgusted after the conversation I am telling all my postal employees that I work with, family and friends never to go to this facility. I thought it would be a good place to go to because its under my federal dental insurance, most definitely not the case. I was lie to by another employee and when I try to explain to her she got defensive she walks off from me in mid sentence, so I leave there establishment. I waited 30 mins to call and reschedule appointment (which she already told me she would but never did) and also to speak with the doctor bc she is a very nice lady and she makes you feel comfortable and welcome, she also make sure your please with your visit. Right of the back when I call back to speak with her when I said my name the receptionist which was the same lady that was rude automatically beginning getting rude again arguing me down why would I need to speak with the doctor, so when I finally told her bc I was lie to she kept telling me I didnt know what I was talking about. She also told me I misheard or misunderstand. Im trying to explain the conversation that was had with me which she wasnt there so definitely didnt understand how she could tell me what was told to me. I also didnt understand how she felt like everything was told to me correctly when they was training a new young lady, which was the young lady who was dealing with me, also they was not by her side the whole time while she was dealing with me. Keep in mind when I was there she was making mistakes and they had to fix it for her, I just felt like all it took was a simple I apologize it was our mistake this is what we need to do now but I didnt get that I got treated in away no one wants to. Everytime I try to talk she kept interrupting me and would not allow me to talk. When I then told her how rude she was that she would not allow me to talk that we both cant talk and get an understanding she got more rude and hang up on me. I told her on multiple occasions that I had our first conversation and this one recorded she didnt care I would not advise anyone to use this service or less they can go directly to doctor Michelle Im so disappointed

I have not even gotten in the door for my appointment yet and already I have been berated by a very rude employee. If I didn’t need contacts, I’d leave. I will not return.Edit: I wish I had left that day rather than going forward with the appointment. Donovan tried to convince me that I needed multi-focal lenses. I was not able to see with them in. Am much happier now that I’m in single vision lenses. This place is rude and pushy.

The arms of my glasses had fallen off several times. So I took them by Pearle Vision to have them repaired again until I can get my new ones. The young lady explained to me that they had been fixed one time to many and she did not think there was anything else they could do. She stated that she would do her best. Well she did not fail me. She returned to my car with my glasses repaired again!! I love the service i receive every time I go there.

I’ve used this place for multiple pairs of glasses for myself and my daughter over the past couple of years and was always happy with the glasses and the staff. My daughter called them earlier this week to set up an appointment to get new prescription glasses and sunglasses. She was told she needed no appointment, but should call when she gets there and then they would assess the number of people in the store and the number in her party. So we go today. Call when we get there, as directed. The extremely condescending person who answered the phone then told my daughter that I couldn’t accompany her inside. My daughter then told her she was told that she could bring someone as long as too many people weren’t inside at a time, but that it was okay, we’d just come another time. The woman kept cutting her off while she was trying to tell her these 2 sentences. One of her comments was, “What, you can’t pick out glasses for yourself?” Followed by, “I don’t think you understand our situation here.” My daughter is saying the whole time, “ I understand, it’s no big deal, we’ll come back another time, it’s not an emergency.” Then the extremely rude person said “Okay, Babe” as they were ending the conversation. My daughter very politely (I was surprised and proud that she had been so polite throughout the entire interaction and I’M taking credit for that!) said please don’t call me Babe, it’s condescending. I then got on the phone and explained that I’m a dentist and do completely understand their situation and that was why she called beforehand and why she didn’t get angry and just said that we would just come another time. The receptionist was then very condescending to me too. I told her she just cost her business about $1000 and more because we will never go there again. It’s important to remain safe during this pandemic, but that doesn’t mean you get to be rude. Maybe this young lady had been yelled at by multiple people over this all morning, but that is no reason to treat other people rudely. I hope her day gets better....

I bought my glasses less then 6 months ago. Paid over $500 for them. I now have to have the arm screwed back on my designer Elle frames a second time.

I came in today (Im actually here now) and not one person acknowledged me. A gentleman came in behind me and was served immediately. It wasnt until one of the doctors saw me and came to see if I had been helped. Please do better, my time just like the gentleman who came in behind me is valuable also.

I was a walk-in on a late afternoon and had an appointment the following morning. After I finished my paperwork had a short wait (30 minutes at most) saw optometrist. The staff is friendly and helpful. The optometrist, Michelle Donovan, is efficient and very knowledgable. Can’t wait to get my new glasses!

I’ve appreciated their service for the last 22 years and I have no reason not to continue. They’ve always taken great care of me and when I’ve had a problem they’ve always been right there with a solution.

I cant say enough good things about this location. Ask for Lisa! She is super helpful and took the time to help me find glasses that fit my face correctly and were aesthetically pleasing. Contrary to other reviews I read, Lisa is not about selling the most expensive glasses, frames in general cost a lot but Lisa tries to be very forward about costs and ways to keep the costs controlled. The owner, Gene, is also a very nice man.

I had a great experience at this Pearl Vision. My optometrist, Michele Donovan, O.D., was extremely warm and friendly, but at the same time very efficient. I wish I had gotten the name of the young woman who helped my daughter and I choose frames and checked us out because she was equally charming and knowledgeable. The same for the woman in the pink cast who checked us in and helped with the exam. All around, a stellar experience and I have recently move from MN, the home of MN nice. I would highly recommend this location. After only having been in the state for two weeks, they made us feel like family and it was much appreciated!

I had a fantastic experience the other day when I went for my eye exam and while picking out new glasses. Dr. Donovan, Lisa, and Gene were all so professional and definitely showed the experience they all have in assisting their clients. Needed to get my glasses fixed after falling on them (5 stitches) and bending the frame. Looked online for places to go that had good reviews...wow! the experience couldnt have been better. Even if they had not been able to repair my glasses I would still be impressed. Lisa came to assist me immediately and was able to fix them. I am also in the market for a new pair and was impressed by the inventory. I liked that even the designer frames arent behind a glass case requiring me to ask for assistance. Lisa offered to help or at least offer her opinion and wrote down the frame numbers that interested me. I will be back this week to make my final selection!

Showed up 15 minutes late which I apologize for sincerely but the lady at the desk didn’t give me a very clear reschedule appointment at all. Said I could wait and maybe be seen or come back at two. I’m sorry but everyone wants to make sure to be actually seen. Felt treated like a child an she didn’t care one bit. I personally work with the community and clientele is key to making a business do well. I’ll take my business somewhere else maybe hire people that are more personable and kind hearted.

Love how you’re treated both personally and professionally here. Little details like the receptionist remembering my name, the consideration of my time in getting me through my appointment quickly and helping me pick the perfect pair of glasses. I just had the absolute best customer service I think I have ever had in my entire life at Pearle Vision on Sam Rittenberg. If you are at all needing to go get glasses, definitely visit this place and talk to Shawnita Montgomery. After having been treated pretty terribly at another place, this was such a welcome relief to have encountered her. She went so above and beyond that it actually brought tears to my eyes to have someone be so helpful. Definitely a great place to go get glasses!!!!

While traveling through the Charlston area, I squashed my glasses. Trying to readjust them myself, I could not correct the pull to my right eye. I stopped in on Saturday morning. There was a steady stream of regular customers, yet I was seen and treated with the same courtesy and concern. In fact, it took about 30 minutes of adjusting, to correct the problem. I wished I lived here so that my husband and I could have our optical care here. Thank you to this great staff!

Both the Eye Glass Center and Doctors side are superb! Great customer service. Ordered contatacts and the staff went the extra step to find my insurance when I couldnt.

Do not go to this location and have Lisa assist you with picking out glasses. She will try and sell you the most expensive pair of glasses you could get even if you expressed you don’t want it. This was my first experience here and I will not be coming back.

This place is great. They fixed and cleaned my glasses in a few minutes, and every customer in there was being attended to and seemed genuinely happy about their experience. I am coming back to get prescription sunglasses!

Gene and his staff provide exemplary customer service. Weve been in this business several times and have always been pleased but this weeks occurrence was over the top. Last week my husband submitted his prescription and selected glasses and sunglasses frames. That evening, the stem/leg of my glasses broke and I was in a tizzy b/c we were leaving town for 6 months the next day and I was wearing a spare pair with and old prescription. 2 days ago I contacted Gene; he emailed a mailing label to me; I had the broken pair to FedEx that day. He received them yesterday and today we got my husbands 2 pairs and my repaired pair!!! All 3 pairs fit and are adjusted as well as if we were in Genes optical shop. What service! We highly recommend Gene and Pearle Vision on Sam Rittenberg and can attest that they ARE the Gold Standard in customer satisfaction.
