The staff team are a credit to the business. Always professional and genuinely friendly. We have been going to quiz nights which are brilliantly run. The whole Margam Deer experience is second to none. Everything is of the best standard. You guys rock!

We were booked in as a party of 8 (3adults and 5 children) I cannot fault the service we recieved from the staff (every member we came across) nor the actual food. It was a relaxed and stress free visit that all 8 of us enjoyed. Thank you very much. We cannot wait to come back.

Good carvery. Plenty to choose from. 3 meats and about 8 veg items including coliflower cheese and Yorkshire pudding.Even had butternut squash which was a nice addition. Only down point for me was £3.10 for a pint of a soft drink. But overall very nice indeed

I go here every week because it is good value for money, the staff are very friendly and cant help you enough, and its good food and good service.The staff are very considerate of the times and will notify you to go up to the Carvery when your other meals are ready so that you are all eating at the same time. The Carvery is amazing, lots to choose from. 3 meats and about 8 veg items including cauliflower cheese and Yorkshire pudding. My parents always have the Carvery. I will now and then but I also like to change things up a bit and try a different things.Lovely, comfortable, and clean environment. I cant fault this place nor can I fault the staff.

Very nice staff, they forgot the vegetarian carvery and had to be reminded but when it came out my sister said it was very nice. The roast potatoes were a little dissapointing but everything else on the carvery was lovely.

The staff was very nice to us,and took us too our table straight away.They were very happy and helpful. We ordered our drinks and our food,the drinks came in about 10 minutes and our food came in 20 minutes given us plenty of time for a chat, when the food came it was fantastic. I WOULD definitely recommend any body who wants a good food and drink to visit the Margam deer it was a pleasure too have great food for a change, Tell your friends and family to go I have given them 5 stars fantastic 😊.

Stan Foskett and Dan were both incredibly efficient and had amazing customer service. The food was delicious. Stan was very polite and prompt and I felt really welcomed. Then Dan served me carvery which was so tasty that my family want to enjoy it again soon! Thank you both!

Lovely place, the staff were great so was the service. Ordered cheesey garlic bread but got plain, my wife had a chicken Tikka with rice, poppadom, and side of chips all perfect.I opted for the steak and ale pie with chips, peas, carrots and gravy, and this what cost that fifth star, the pie was dry, which was a disappointment.I guess I should have had the Gammon which a table near us had and was superb

Beautiful carvery on a Sunday. Both meat and vegetarian options were lovely and great selection of veg and condiments. Fairly priced and nice interior.

We visited the margam deer on the Sunday and decided to have the carvery. Little slow to be served (could do with one extra staff) all the staff we very helpful and couldnt do enough for us the food was lovely could have been a little hotter but otherwise very nice and plenty to eat. We will be coming back again and will try something else on the menu. The price was a little bit over priced which hopefully in the future when things get back to normal because of covid you will drop the price a little. Nice environment and clean thanks for the experience

Family meal.. nice food .. personally was looking forward to having the carvery option but disappointed as very little left on carvery option.. but all enjoy overall. Will return soon.

We got there are 4.30 and after a busy day they only had two choices of meat, I choose the beef but it was really tough and mentioned this 3 times to no avail only on the last occasion did the manager agree saying he had had a lot of complaints and had tried to cut it himself and it was tough he was thinking of taking it off but as it was the only choice left at that time he left it on an continued to allow customers to pay for carvery. Not happy with this

This is a lovely place to eat and depends on the staff. Today staff were very busy but it didnt show in the prompt, helpful and friendly service.

Nice food. Delay in serving vegetarian option. But once we got it, it was good. Roast potatoes were a bit disappointing. Broccoli and cauliflower tart. Staff v friendly.

We visited the restaurant today, greeted by a lovelly lady, showed us to our table and took our order, I had steak, it was cooked to perfection, service was amazing, all the staff were lovelly, looking forward to going back, soon.

This restaurant has solid quality food but some of their menu items are a bit too expensive. I would recommend taking advantage of their daily dish type that is discounted to 6 pounds, and skip the appetizers. Overall, a family friendly place and probably the nicest restaurant in the nearby area (although there isnt much competition).

Finally a proper pub grab place.

Food was terrible but the customer service was excellent and all the covid measures were in place. They did rectify the problem I had with the food so cant fault them there.

My husband and I booked yesterday online for a meal at The Margam Deer Baglan, Port Talbot for 5pm today 30/05/2021. We had lovely service from the off. Darren met us at the door and was so polite and welcoming. He showed us to our seats even tho there was a queue. Ryan then came to serve us. Took our order and as my husband needed a gluten free meal he made sure to write it down on his notepad. Also made sure as we asked for non alcoholic drinks (my husband being gluten free and can only drink cider) and served us Old Mout non alcoholic cider as he was driving. Ryan checked drinks making sure they were acc to bottles non alcoholic. I m at the moment to have same as recovering from breast cancer. Food was delicious. Carvery. And the Chef (sorry didnt see or notice if they had badges on so asked a few of them their names) was v good also in that he insisted on getting a new cooked turkey out even tho Id have been happy with the pieces left from last one. Would have been enough for me. And the other lady serving with him (sorry didnt see her badge or name) was also very attentive to us when serving. Especially as when my husband told her he was gluten free she knew all about it as she said her son is also a coeliac (gluten free diet person). So she knew what to put on his plate. All staff lovely. I ll just mention the few I asked their names as no badge. Lucy, Amber, Darren, Ryan, Phil the Manager. All worked so hard to give the best service. Lovely atmosphere. Will definitely call again. Thank you so much.

Very poor, wouldn’t take my dog, owner is very rude and staff messed up order of 4, waited hour and half for drinks and refused refund. Absolute shambles!!
