Jackson is awesome! I came in today to trade in my switch for an Xbox but ended up leaving with a PlayStation 4, 3 new games and coverage on everything!!! I typically know what I’m looking for and like to be in and out of places quickly but he was super friendly and helped me pick 3 new games Ive never played all while saving me money! As a college student I like to ball on a budget and he literally made it happen. Highly recommend this place for trade ins, the staff is great! So far, sniper elite, 10/10. Thanks again Jackson!!!

Went there for McFarlane day, they didnt have any McFarlane items. We were disappointed.

I stopped by this game stop to look for wii accessories. I wasnt treated upon entering the store. The attendant didnt ask me if I needed help. I had to go stand in front of the counter and ask if I could askal question before they acknowledged me.When I found the Wii accessories and started looking through them I was disgusted. The were used, but not referbished. They were dirty, some had hair on them. By dirty I mean dark brown earwax clumped dirt consistency. I told the attendance and she was like oh thats gross. I guess we need to clean them. So apparently they dont clean them when someone returns them. Just tossed them in a bag and onto the shelf.I would recommend order refurbished online or walmart. I was grossed out by going into the store.

GameStop on Sam Rittenburg Boulevard in West Ashley is a well managed GameStop location and makes the process for shopping for and purchasing all things video games very easy. The staff here is very accommodating and knowledgeable and works hard to make sure that you get all of the assistance that you need. I have been happy with everything that I have purchased here throughout the years.

Also, if games are purchased and they are digital instead of a game cartridge, please let ppl know when you hand them a case.

I was greeted as I walked in and asked if I needed any assistance. The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable yet not pushy in the least. I had quite a few questions but they were all answered thoroughly and thoughtfully despite the store becoming busy. I also appreciated the honesty of those working at the store as they explained options and prices rather than just taking my money. I would and will definitely shop there again, in addition to recommending it to others.

Rude arrogant clerk. Have bought lots online from them, but that ends. No need to treat people poorly, because they are selling an extra game received as a present. Clerk told me “you know the policy, we don’t buy unopened games” in a condescending tone. No I wouldn’t know the policy, cause it was my second time in a store and first time ever trying to sell or trade a game with GameStop. Have no problem with the policy, just the rude clerk who needs to treat patrons with respect.

Staff are nice but I wish there was more product on the floor since thinkgeek closed. The store itself is small but needs to have an updated floor plan to include more items. I usually have to go to the north charleston stores to get what I need.

GameStop is a very good gaming store for all ages. they have everything from E-M games, they also have toys and other things that would make an amazing birthday or Xmas gift. They also have a very friendly staff that will help you if needed so dont be scared to ask questions.

Honestly the worst staff ever. Never in my life have I dealt with such dumb and terrible people. They know nothing about their own policies and then make fun of you for anything that you try to explain to them. Never will I ever go in this store again.

Well the staff is very nice and ready to help, but dont seem to pay attention to the details. I traded in some old PS3 wireless duel shock controllers and explained they both had glitches..but the guy that helped me straight up bagged up my controllers and marked them both for $35.99! Didnt test them or anything. Then he sold me back two used controllers which were both marked exactly the same, except one turned out to be a knock off and doesnt have the duel shock feature needed for proper gaming. Also the charging cord they gave me doesnt even go with either controller!!!! Im expect more from GameStop as a member, wish this store would tighten up some.

Went in their to buy baritone ninja storm and the manager was condescending about my choice of the game. Telling me I shouldnt buy it and I should get some other fighting game thats more popular.Maybe I dont like standard fighting games and ninja storm is one I actually enjoy. Think about that?Hes an ass. I hate this location.

Went there to buy headset for Xbox One. Kids wanted to look at some games. Found headset for $5 less at Best Buy which is literally across the street. They would not price match or even consider. Will not be buying games or accessories from them again. They lost a good customer that has three kids that buy lots from them (use to).

All game stops are similar. but this one is super awesome because of the staff. theyre kind and helpful and Steven, who i think is the manager is the best of them all.

They dont awnser there phone I dont know if its something with there phone line or if they have it off the hook. Nobody has answered the phone since they opened. But all the other stores I have called have been able to awnser there phone

This is a very well organized store and the staff is super helpful. The last few times Ive been in, its been really nice to talk to sales people who are knowledgeable about new releases, that are not trying to sell you something youre on the fence about or sure to regret. I also have to mention (just because Ive been to enough GameStops to know this) but I appreciate that this store does not smell overwhelmingly of body odor. Im not even kidding and I dont know why, but people who go enough know what Im talking about when it comes to other GameStop locations in the tri-county area smelling like B.O. Whatever carpet cleaners and/or white sage this location is using/burning, please keep it up.

Cant go in there without being harassed to buy the freaking rewards card. Argued for 5 minutes against preorder as well. The only reason I shop there is, there are no competing game stores near by.

Ive been going to game stop for prob a my about 10 years now. The company is what it is, I have no qualms with that. But, this particular location is awful. Mark -Ferret- (its what his nametag says), is consistently a condescending jerk every time Im in there. Ive worked in sales for years, the best way to get someone to see the value of a warranty or rewards program isnt to belittle them... It even seems like the other employees are intimidated by him. Ill be going to best buy, or a different game stop till Mark is terminated. Literally the worst retail experience Ive had in my life. So bad that it was comical.

If I could leave a review with 0 stars I would. Staff is not knowledgeable about products and doesnt seem to care about it. Manager is condescending and more worried about speed and getting someone out the door than customer service. I have been to this store twice now for a repeat issue and each time was not pleasant.If you must do business with Gamestop then check out the Northwoods Mall or Mt. Pleasant locations. Much better customer service and more attentive to your needs as a customer. GameStop as a company isnt the best and horrible customer service from the West Ashley location doesnt help their case.

Ive been a customer here for 3 yrs. Always a welcome environment with friendly and helpful staff.

They didnt really know what they were talking about. 1.) The difference from digital downloads and having the game as a cd is just that. The physical disk as opposed to digital game. ALL content purchased for Xbox 360 is transferred if u own that same game for Xbox one. No need to repurchased.

Update: so the jerk guy is no longer there!!! This makes me so happy. Much better experience the guys are really nice and seem so much happier than they used to be now that the guy that was belittling is gone. Very helpful and the store seems to be doing better. I’ll leave my old review as a reflection.So I really like Gamestop. Between Gamestop and buying online I usually go to Gamestop. I also used to work at a Gamestop where I used to live, so I understand how people can be sometimes. To be perfectly honest, most times I’d rather drive to the Dorchester road store, which is a 30 minute drive out of the way. The reason being is I don’t feel welcomed there. Gamestop should want returning and regular customers. Every time I go back I feel like I get these looks. They never want to talk gaming to you and females are only approached if another female is working. It is very annoying. Also if you ask a question they always answer it in a very belittling way. There are like one or two people I like there, I actually wish I knew their work schedules because I’d go only when they are working.

Ive had to switch to Best Buy and Walmart for my games. Staff there are condescending 99% of the time and only have friendly tone/decent customer service for male customers. They dont seem to have much knowledge either. I came in on a Sunday wanted to purchase/preorder a game for Tuesday and Pancho said I couldnt until the release date. You wont be getting it since the game doesnt come out until Tuesday. I knew I wouldnt be getting the game but I just wanted to pay the balance just in case someone else needed to pick it up. He then told me it wasnt available for pre-order but if I came back Monday Id be able to buy it. If Im willing to drop the $80 why would it matter between Sunday and Monday? Not sure what system they work on, if Pancho was confused or he just was trying to save the Deluxe edition for a buddy. Horrible, horrible service.

Beware of the dude who looks like the son of Doc Brown from Back To The Future. Hes a pushy condescending rude prick who is confused about where he works. You sling video games at a corporate video game shop bro you need to settle down a bit, work on your please and thank yous and overall you need to learn to respect the wishes of your customer instead of trying to browbeat us into seeing it your way. It comes across as very prickish.

Terrible trade in values and return policy . Purchased an xbox one, the next day I tried to return it because i was not happy with my purchase and they would not except any return. I was told my only option would be to trade it in for a very low price or keep it. Im sure amazon or bestbuy would have taken it back. Purchase your gaming content elsewhere
