Store is very organized. Many workers restocking. They are happy to help us find the product we came in for. Would have given a 5 star rating except the young lady had her mask all the way down to her top lip and never pulled it up. If the customers are made to wear them, there employees should have to wear them too.

I have been a customer here for many years, today is the last time. I purchased outdoor patio lights that were ALL defective, while I understand that they don’t manufacture them I found it interesting that 4/4 were. But my real issue was in the return. Their receipt lookup machine was out of order so I was told all I could get was a store credit. When I asked for cash or on my card I was told, “that ain’t happening. You can go home and let on up your receipts online or take the store credit.” I explained that I felt because it’s not my fault their machine wasn’t in working order. I then told her ( Customer Service Manager) that I would not return to shop there, she said “well that’s just fine.” I left, to retrieve my receipt online. ( that system is also out of service) when I returned in the morning, resigned to accept the store credit, the gal at the counter explained there’s a way to get it , in less than two minutes I had the receipt and $$ applied back to my card. What a waste of my time! And the rudeness I experienced yesterday was enough. In the last year I have spent THOUSANDS of dollars renovating my home, with lots of projects to complete. I’m taking my money elsewhere.

Already paid a week in advance, customers service assured, my name is on it and waiting pickup, not the case, 15 minutes and counting no carpet ,snow carpet finally gets here, and they got the wrong padding, they got the cheap one, and I paid for the waterproof, and the bald guy with glass at gate 14,says I go by the reciet, I say, show me on the receipt, he says, oh sorry I go by 3rd party, I say ,go get the right padding, Im here now 40 minutes, I guess small towns, are small for a reason !!!

Still appreciate the quality of service provided at Menards. Allows me to have peace of mind when choosing materials for my projects. Currently flipping a dresser and got all my items in one location. Rebates program has changed slightly, which makes it more interesting but still rather have savings on spot, but oh well.

Never anyone trained outside on forklift. Had to wait 30 minutes for a guy to go dig out a box of vinyl trim because he had no one else with him that had a forklift. Last week there were maybe 3 employees all on the lumber aisle and not one of them were allowed to use a forklift.Their gm dan is a sorry sorry example of management if thats how he runs things. Never scheduling people with forklifts when theyre needed. And hes either too lazy or too stupid to train the surplus of employees outside. Disgraceful. Would not recommend going here.

Had a tool rental that was faulty to begin with (vacuum bag leaked, left residue on floor before we even left). Store employee Kara was excessively unruly and unreasonable on return, being very combative the second we walked in. Absolutely lost our business after this experience.

The sales associate that checked me out today was very kind and polite to the 2 people in front of me and the person behind me. I wasn’t so lucky. She acted very put out with what I had purchased and never said a word to me. I guess customer service only applies to certain people and the luck of the draw🤷‍♀️

Always well stocked with accurate online information. This is important to me as I live 30 miles away. Knowledgeable staff can answer any question you might have. Prices are reasonable and delivery is available for most purchases. Parking is a breeze and flags/string are available for oversized loads.

My only complaint about Menards is that you cannot use Google Pay or 🍎 Pay or or any other mobile payment systems. It is amazing how many big-box retailers are stuck in the past. Archaic ways of thinking loses customers. Oh, Customer Service is not the best - not able to call - only email. Just because it is a pandemic doesnt mean call centers should be shut down; they do remote. Other retailers have figured it out but Menards hasnt. Again, archaic thinking.

I shop there today because of the 15% off of anything you can put in a bag. Normally I wont shop there because of their bogus rebate that they hand out. Its a real joke that they think their customer is getting some kind of value out of their 11% rebate. The rebate is sent off using a $0.50 stamp and it takes months or you may never get it back. And then when you do get it back you have to spend your rebate at their store so it has no value to me whatsoever. Think about it! If they want to keep a customer they need to give a real percentage off and not that phony store credit.

The 11 % rebate is a scam Customers never receive the rebate check. It is outsourced to rebates international which has no customer service phone number... I emailed and received a response 22 days later... Telling me to just wait. Menards takes no responsibility for the problem If Menards is going to lure customers away from other lumber yards they should be held accountable to follow through. Its not fair. And it is verging on fraud.I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau but Menards has had so many complaints they are already not in good standing so they do not care.They just keep offering the fraudulent 11% rebate to lure customers in.My next step is with my attorney to bring this issue to Illinois law makers.I am owed over $1300.00

Worst place. My wife and I went into Menards for home improvement items. I do not wear a mask for a fake pandemic aka seasonal flu. Within 5 minutes of being in this store I was stopped 6 times by masks nazis. Kara (Manager) and Alisha are mean nasty ladies telling me a grown man I need to wear a mask or they will call the police. Apparently a law was signed lol nope wasn’t. We were looking to remodel our home and spend thousands of dollars. That’s ok Home Depot doesn’t require masks do we spent our money in there.

I had a terrible experience with an employee named Jim today. I was looking for parts in the plumbing area and asked him for assistance, but he responded in a aggressive manmer. He actively refused to listen to me when I tried asking questions about other parts and I felt discriminated because of him.

Needed Japanese Beetle traps since theyve shown up recently. Checked prices online for all the local stores, and as I expected, Menards had the lowest price, which was also much lower than Amazon. The traps were in stock so I purchased 4 along with other garden supplies. Menards carries the best potting soil at the best price: Pro Mix with mycorrhizae, 2 c.f. compressed for $13.97 before rebate. Happy to say that all employees and customers were wearing masks, the right way, unlike what Ive seen at Sams Club.

Realized when we got to the store that we had 2 masks for three people. I gave mine to my son and walked in expecting to buy a mask so we could do some shopping. The acting store manager began yelling at me from across the store. When I informed her I needed to buy a mask, she continued to yell and berate me. I asked her to stop yelling. She continued and directed me to the service desk where another employee was rude and condescending. There was no need for the nastiness.

The employees are always helpful and nice. Weve had an error with a special order once but everyone was very nice and helpful. I think it did take a little longer to get everything sorted out with the special order and to have the restocking fee removed since it was an employee error.

Beware of the patio chairs. they look nice but made very cheaply. i got the gannett peak chair 2 pk. the base literally broke on one chair and the other chair the screws are stripping out. it hasnt even been a year since I paid $250 for them

In Champaign/Urbana if I had to see one of the big box / DIY /home stores close; I would rather see Lowes or Home Depot close. Menards carries products that are (in some cases) of a lower quality, but often a bigger variety, need three kinds of cement and 8 kinds of premix concrete, or oak, maple, poplar and yellow pine boards etc. Often better prices -- and the store is more fun and interesting. Some employees have decent in knowledge. One employee in the plumping area has useful advice (expert even), although the teenagers generally do not know much.

Thank you for the opportunity to share my experience at Menards in Champaign, Illinois. I went into the store and seeing a man with his lunch box, putting his jacket on. He had a Menards vest that was visible.Not knowing whether he was coming or going, I asked do you work here? He said yes. I said do you know where plumbing supplies are? He said what do you want? I explained I wanted handicap bars for shower and to get up off the stool. He said I can show you. He left his lunchbox there and helped me with everything I wanted. It took a little time. I said Were you coming to work if leaving. He laughter and said I’m going home now. I apologized and thanked him. He said no problem and begin walking back. I asked his name he said Mark. Calling the store the next day, someone in plumbing said his name is Mark Kirkpatrick. I was so impressed by his kindness and his disregard from my apology saying I don’t mind I do this all the time. He could have said check with someone at the desk, I’m off duty. Such a nice & considerate person. Didn’t even want to accept my apology for delaying him.Thank you Mark.Evangeline Clark, a grateful customer

Purchased two Schlage electronic deadbolts for my house. They did not work, as the lock cylinder was too large and did not allow for my storm doors to shut fully. I returned them, and chose in-store credit. I immediately went into the store and purchased two different deadbolt sets. Took them home and installed them. One worked, one had evidently been purchased and returned. The UPC number has been hand-written on the box and the programming code had been written in pencil in the owners manual. As I tried to program my own code into the lock, which requires you to enter the programming code (a 6-digit number) it would not allow the entry of a 6-digit number, preventing me from entering my own user code, or using the lock at all. I purchased the last two of these locks from Menards, so I couldn’t swap out the lock for a different one. I purchased another one at a different store and when I brought the product back to Menards, they would only give me store credit, since that’s what I bought it with. $130 of in-store credit that I don’t need or want. This product had obviously been returned already and then re-stocked. I purchased it defective and just get in-store credit. Not only that, but the lady working the service desk acted as if I was lying to her as she looked over every piece carefully. She pulled out the latch piece (internal piece) that had some spray paint on it (there when I got it out of the box) and proclaimed, “well this piece isn’t new!” Well, lady, that’s what you sold me, if you couldn’t tell, it’s obviously been returned at least once. It is defective, don’t put it back on your shelf. I had this happen to me with a smart thermostat that had been returned too. I ended up returning that too as someone had already used the UPC number to get the rebate from Ameren Illinois and had registered the product with Honeywell already and it was useless to me. Make your own call, but these were my experiences.

Madyson at the return counter totally ruins customer service at this store. She doesn’t know how to do rental orders and she makes you feel it’s your fault to rent any equipment from them. I also deeply feel that I am discriminated as an immigrant because she rolled her eyes multiple times when I asked questions. Menards used to be my favorite store but now I am very very disappointed.

Went to all the major stores for kitchen cabinet prices. They had the most people in that dept. They also helped the least. Home depot and lowes were eager to help. At Menards no help no prices to compare. Awful place. Wont be back.

Devin R in kitchen cabinets provided outstanding customer service with attention to detail and professionalism. He literally walked me through all the different departments and made sure that my order was correct and complete. He even ensured that billing and delivery were set up and that I would receive the cabinets by the due date. During the ordering process he listened to me and answered all my questions, and stayed within my budget. Of course, I made several changes to the layout during the process, which he handled with patience, good humor and again great attention to detail.

Covid mask Nazis. No other Champaign store has given me such a hard time about wearing a mask constantly. I tend to dangle my mask from my ear when no one is close. I am in good health but have hit flashes. I was reminded repeatedly yesterday to wear my mask - once by a manager lecturing other employees about insisting customers wear their masks at all times - she wasn’t wearing hers, nor was she social distancing. I left cranky and finished my shopping at Home Depot.
