Incredibly disappointing. We ordered a door back in January and were told to expect it in 10-12 weeks (March-April). We find out in June that the rep who managed our order left the company without telling us that that the door had been delivered, causing us to miss a critical window for our installation contractor who specializes in older homes (I dont want our 120-year old trim to get destroyed). And now, we found that the company forgot to include the door handles, so weve missed yet another window with our contractor. Im currently facing the prospect of having our door installed with a newborn baby at home in winter because of Alexander Lumbers poor service and quality control. Go literally anywhere else for a custom door.

Great place to get your building supplies. They try really hard to work with you and get what you want. Help you figure things out etc.

I have done business with this company on numerous occasions and I can guarantee that these people are attentive, knowledgeable, professional, courteous and friendly. I knew very little about windows and after Dave explained them to me I was able to make a decision.

They deliver defective products.Poor customer service, especially after sale is completed.Give hard time with warranty.

I called Alexander’s in search of a specific type of trim coil. After explaining exactly what I needed, I was told that they had it in stock, and would be waiting for me. When I arrived there were several employees behind the desk, I am sure I was clearly visible, and yet I had to literally step over and get their attention. When I asked about the metal no one seemed to be aware of my earlier call. When they went and got the supposed “perfect match” for my metal, it was not what I asked for at all, not only that but none of these “experts” even seemed to realize that there was a difference. Then the person at the helm said to me “well we don’t have it then “ after insisting that I was informed that they didn’t have it. There was no miscommunication here, I was told specifically that they had exactly what I asked for. I am appalled that your employee would treat a potential new customer like that. I own both Strong Brothers Construction, and Greater Illinois Siding and Window Company. I can guarantee you, I will not forget this incident while I am considering future purchases. I would love a phone call to let me know how you choose to discipline this employee. The store is located in Champaign IL. The employee in question was a large gentleman with a beard and pattern baldness. I assure you that if I don’t receive some sort of assurance this will not happen again, I will personally try to assuage every contractor I know to do business elsewhere.
