We had foreigner friends visiting Leiden so we decided to bring them to one of our favorite ice cream salon in the city: Ijscafe Danice. Unfortunately, it ended up being a terribly bad experience. When we ordered the ice cream, it melted as soon as we held it. It even dropped on the floor in the shop. The ice cream wasnt completely frozen. We were a large group and it became a big mess outside. Ice cream on the ground, table, clothes, hands etc. Some of our friends had to order new ice cream, because it was uncomfortable eating a melting ice cream. The other solution was putting our cones into cups. Because of this we ccouldnt enjoy our view or even talk with one another.I have ordered ice cream many times before and was quite satisfied with its quality and the friendly staff. This last experience however changed my mind. I also didnt like the approach of the staff workers that day. They could have offered at least the new ordered ice creams for free but instead they ignored us and werent friendly. It wasnt a cheap order at the end of the day (group of 8 people) and still it was terrible. Next time I would prefer a lower quality ice salon where the ice cream is frozen at least.Also, they didnt clean our table outside. There were still leftovers from previous customers. It suprised me that the 4-5 staff workers that day couldnt run the shop successfully.I hope that they will take my review into account. This happened on the 14th of August 2021.

If youre visiting Leiden then this place is a must for a quick rest! Even if its cold this ice cream is so delicious its worth being chilly! But if you want something warm, request a warm chocolate milk, available in white, milk or dark and comes with a mini ice cream, its so tasty and looks super cute!

WOW!! Great service and delicious coffee and ice cream. Staff does everything to make u feel welcome and ensure that u are having a great time. Very reasonable prices as well. Every visit is special thanks to the amazing staff. Highly recommended!

Crunchy lemon (previously grandmas cake?) is my absolute favorite ever. Deffinently recommend trying it. All the icecream is great though

Had to wait super long because only one person prepared our food while the other one was doing absolutely nothing. The waffles aren’t worth it the money and the ice cream is very sugary. The choice is good tho, therefore they deserve the two stars. As two of us had finished their meal, the others were still waiting. Quite unfriendly staff. Other places nearby are better !! Even locals told us so!!

Theyve ruined our icecream. Awful service. While choosing flavours, the two working ladies got impacient and attended us with very bad manners. No other people were there. They should get another job. In the meantime they shoulnt discharge their frustration on the clients.

Unfortunately we had to throw away our ice cream. The ice cream was so sweet that I couldnt even swallow my only bite and spit it out on the street. My girlfriend ate three more bites and then threw the ice cream away. I have to admit that I dont eat much sweet things, but the ice cream here is really bizarrely sweet. In addition to the all-consuming sugar, there was also a fairly artificial taste to it. It seems as if they do not work with real, pure ingredients, but mainly with a lot of sugar and artificial flavors.

I like it myself! But .... my friends all complain about the caramel sea salt. It is too salty! But I have chocolate and white chocolate and they are tasty.

Eaten ice cream on 2 different days, the flavors were delicious the first day and were a bad buy on the second day. Smurf ice cream tasted like coffee, and the strawberry ice cream was crumbly and disintegrated. Then the price of € 3.20 for 2 scoops is a waste of money.

IJscafe Danice Leiden Centrum is a café with a pastry shop in the center. The ice cream is delicious. The tea comes with a tiny ice cream for tasting. Wafla was normal, but expectations were higher. You can sit outside and inside. You can also pay by card. There is no parking.The hourly parking fee costs around € 3.6 per hour, so it pays to buy an all-day parking fee for € 14, because the city is beautiful and extensive.

The service was very friendly, despite the stress. Therefore 3 points. The ice itself .... well ... a lot of sugar. Have tasted together 5 sorts, all over sweet and tasty geschiggemt only on the actual variety .... For the ice I would rather give 1 point. But really nice girls there .... good service, on extra wishes will be received.

The crêpes are very bad! The waitress made 2 small pancakes on the crepe plate, which was not hot enough, so the crêpes were still raw. They clearly have never had training to make this. We will not be back here!

As an avid ice cream eater, I found the chocolate to taste rather hazelnut-like. The yogurt amarene was tasty, but not exciting. Whipped cream was nice. The relatively high price depresses the score.
