I visited colonial Ace today for the first time in a long while. The store set-up made sense, the customer service was excellent, the products were quality. They dont carry everything big box stores carey, but its great to have a less harried hardware store experience.

Ace has some great coupons when you sign up with your phone number. I have used a handful of $5 off coupons and it makes it worth it to go in when prices are otherwise too high.I havent always had great experiences with the store clerks, BUT today I purchased some quart jars and was charged $16 when they were listed for $12. When I got home, I called the manager, Curtis, and he was extremely courteous and understanding and credited me back what was due.

Unfortunately I went in to get help from Sam and through the grape vine discovered they fired him without warning after almost 8 years I tried to get help from another gentleman and he seemed to struggle with helping me with my problem and the cashier Sherleen I feel took a long time to realize I was even in line because she had practically fallen asleep in the chair she was sitting in I understand needing a chair in some situations but ive been there plenty and she seems to be struggling to even answer phones properly while waiting to be noticed you can hear the phone ring several times and then it seems to have to be picked up by another employee elsewhere in the store due to the fact that she either struggles to hear it or ignores it purposefully I dont know seems like this store is getting rid of the hard workers who made it a joy to come in and keeping the slow ones making service take longer and less efficiently I wont be coming here unless absolutely necessary from now on the high prices didnt bother me before with the good workers but now that seems to be a problem for them to keep good people on their staff

Employees not to interested in customer service, more interested in using their time to stand in center of the aisle talking to each other. Ill go to the Home Depot or Lowes at least their employees are more helpful and willing to see that your needs are met.

Went in with problem key remote. The employee took the remote apart and noticed a paper stuck to the battery. He removed it and charged nothing. He said he just likes opportunies to help others. It makes his day go by faster.

Ace be servin up the hardware, hot, fresh n ready! They also have very knowledgable staff that have helped me many times with projects Im working on.

Best place in town for sprinklers and parts. Better supply of PVC parts than big orange. Staff is great help--you draw it, theyll find all the parts you need to build it. Saves a LOT of time hunting through all the PVC. Good supply of drip system parts too. Open 8-8 in Summer, Mon-Sat.

Gotta love ace hardware. A little bit of everything without walking a mile.

This store has been on this same spot for so long!Its more expensive than Walmart BUT the store employees arent looking sad worn out tired and hating work so i prefer to buy some stuff here and not there.I get coupons in the mail for signing up to a free sign up thingy.They have weekly specials. Best time to go. Not sure if they match Home Depot but they should. Home Depot is HORRIBLE, Lowes is good, ACE is okay but its a small business so there is thatPS.I miss the free popcorn.

They have trouble matching Benjamin Moore paint. They sell that brand and should be able to make it, but I think their computer system isn’t working correctly.

This small, quiet store is my go-to place for bolts, nuts, screws, washers, and any other small hardware I need for projects. I also do the bulk of my sprinkler system shopping here. They have a good selection of tools, paint, adhesives, lawn care chemicals, etc. They might not have everything on the floor like a big-box store but they often have just what I need. The staff are friendly with good knowledge and the willingness to find out if they dont know. (Ask Ross)

The staff was courteous, they had a wide variety of fasteners. I found the fasters I was looking for. Masks and social distancing required.

Ross is most helpful when I have questions about almost anything. The store is always well stocked and I can almost always find exactly what I need or a work around if they dont have it. Such personalized help is pretty rare in todays world of big box retailers.

Needs help with inventory of ABS parts, had no pipe to sell me or standard couplings , Had to exit and go to other store.

Great little hardware store with everything you might need aside from lumber (and you can head up to their lumber specific store for that). Their staff have always been extremely helpful. I lve moved nearby since the pandemic began and Ive been impressed with how theyve dealt with a stressful situation.

They did not have what I was looking for. I was in need of a wheelbarrow.

Friendly staff, clean and tidy, as well as well organized and labeled so everything was easy peasy lemon squeasy to find!!!

I go there often as they usually have what I need, some staff are very helpful and really know theur stuff, while others know their stuff too but need an attitude adjustment

A good store to find just about anything. Even gifts.That new little shop were the Scouts shop use to be is so neet check it out while your there. I get distilled water there. A mans toy store!

No matter what I need, I can walk in and have someone find it for me. It saves me hours trying to find what I need at Home Depot (and 3/4 of the time Id have the wrong thing anyway!) Shout out to Ross, you always find the right thing the first time and fast!

Wonderful experience getting paint! McKenzie (think that was her name) was super helpful! She answered all our questions and helped us find the perfect colors for our projects! So glad we went here instead of somewhere else.

If you are high risk, don’t go to ace. I went in and half the employees didn’t even have a mask on. Plus, I didn’t appreciate the two employees that approached me closer than 6ft with no mask in sight on their faces. I felt they cared little for the safety of their customers. I don’t feel I will be back, until they start following the safety guidelines.

I really enjoyed shopping at this great shopping center, not only because if the free popcorn but because of Sam. Sam is most definitely the greatest employee of all time. He enlightens us every time we need it. We must all make Sam the supreme leader of this great store. Amen.

This hardware store doesnt get the publicity it deserves. When you cant find that specific part at the major two competing home improvement stores, youll likely find it here. Friendly customer service and very well stocked.

UPDATE: They got back the penny candy. :) So I changed the stars.I had to go into Ace today to buy a couple little things. A short time ago they got rid of their penny candy and ever since I have been wanted to request that they return it. I asked who to make my suggestion to and was directed to the correct person. (I assume that since he is the person that decides what goes on the shelves that he is the manager.) Before I could even complete my suggestion to bring back the penny candy he cut me off with a, Not going to happen. Now, even though I dont agree with the decision, it is their store and they can do what they want. The thing that bothered me so much was the unfriendly way in which he addressed my suggestion.When the late John Garner worked there he was completely focused on helping the customer. I never left there without feeling happier and uplifted. If I needed something and Johns truck was in the parking lot I knew that I was going to be treated like a friend. (Which would offset the fact that the prices are slightly higher than the big box stores.) I would suggest that the store manager step back and try to emulate what John did so well, care about his customers as friends.Now I will still go to Ace when I need something small and for their 20% off sale, but I wont go out of my way to go there.

Website says open till 8pm store closed 45min early. When it is open the service is much better than at home depot. Item for item they cant compete with home depot or lowes for prices but they do offer some items home depot and lowes do not.

Beats the hell out of Home Depot . Employs are very helpful . And you can a 🍬 bar on your way out.

This store has the best wood, the best stock, the most help and good sales. They spend time with you even if your project is small. They dont make you go back and get the barcode for a bolt like they did at Lowes. You will make friends and have a good time when you go.

I needed a small 24 alder door, all the obvious diy locations wanted double what a standard door would cost. Never shopped at colonial before. On a whim I called, spoke with Scott in the door dept. Told him what I needed and he informed me they mill everything themselves, give him a week and I will have my door. A few days later my door was ready and is more beautiful than expected. Quality superb. I will go nowhere else to finish my kitchen/family room project. Those others are a waste of time.

After going to the two larger stores, I was quite pleased to see Colonial Ace carried more size options for bi-fold closets. Ill go here first next time.
