I thoroughly enjoyed my brunch experience for my aunts birthday. The staff was very accommodating and the food and service was top notch. I also enjoyed the band that performed as well. I ordered a bottle of Rose and a crab omelette with home fries. I will definitely be back to patronize--my family enjoyed.

It is a bit pricey, in my opinion. This place is more like a convenience store than a supermarket. The staffs, however, are super friendly. I would say they have excellent management too as every staff is friendly. I enjoy getting their coffee and donuts. I have yet to try their restaurant and wines, but they seem to be on the areas pricier side. I wouldn’t expect an expensive supermarket in Catonsville. They offer parking spots, and there are parking meters on the street.

My daughter, granddaughter, and I went to 818 for lunch yesterday. It was my first time, and I was thoroughly impressed. I had the steak salad with feta cheese, plums, and a balsamic dressing. The steak was cooked perfectly. The service was wonderful as was the ambiance. I will definitely be going again.

My husband and I had brunch with our children this morning at 818 Market. It was my first time going in and this place is AWESOME. Everything from the layout to the light fixtures is just beautiful. The eggs benedict was phenomenal, my husbands bacon tasted like it was smoked for hours, and our kids loves the pancakes and French toast. Our server Bobby was handling a slew of tables like a charm. He was attentive, polite, and a delight to be around. The manager Tim was amazing as well - friendly, welcoming, and really on point with the way he ran the dining room. Both of my parents worked in fine dining for decades so I am very observant when we go out and this place did not disappoint. Thank you 818! We will be back again soon.

The prices are very steep and it’s not like the product is grown in maryland or local. I am used to shopping at whole food and other organic store but 8$ for 3 head of romaine lettuce that was not even locally grown or organic. The grocery are twice the prices at Whole Foods or sprouts. I do love the liquor and cheese department.

Went to the market for the first time. While the selection of items were nice, they sold us spoiled sea bass that had a terrible sour smell. We are lucky that we didn’t eat the fish and nobody got sick. Based on how empty some of the shelves were, I’m assuming they are having some inventory issues, but no excuse for selling old fish. Be careful buying any meat or fish from 818 Market.

I had the privilege of attending a Chefs Table at 818 Market and Restaurant last night and was blown away by the food and service. We had seven courses with wine pairings and each course was better than the last, which was hard to imagine since everything was so delicious. By the way, the non-alcoholic options for the drink pairings were interesting and the person who had them at our table thought that they were great. Chef Sebastian planned an amazing meal and the service was perfect. My only regret is that I hadnt eaten there before, but last night will definitely not be my last visit. Chefs Tables are available for any number of people and I highly recommend having that experience at least once. In any case, if you havent been to 818 Market and Restaurant, you should go there, and soon!

Second time experience not as good as the first. My over hard eggs were runny. My French toast was mediocre. I overheard a customer say that her pancakes tasted baking sodawy. The waiter kindly brought another order which she half ate. My husband agreed that the pancakes werent as good as the first time.It was a 12p-4p Sunday jazz brunch. The entertainment start was late. Very good once they got started.I gave three stars because the server was friendly and the coffee shop turned out some good drinks.Hopefully just a bad day. Have been coming here since they opened. Had a meeting to discuss a project that was initiated by the owner with the owner here and they show up an hour late with their wife, sit on the other side of the bar and start ordering drinks and food. Finally a little more than 45 minutes later he decides it’s time to come and talk business 2 hours after our original meeting time. Half loaded probably, I’ve never been so disrespected by someone inquiring from me before. Never again will I entertain this overpriced and clearly entitled establishment .

The food is superior and we loved the atmosphere. I only give 3 stars because the server neglected to put our appetizer in so it did not come until after the entrees come and we had to ask twice. I ordered the chicken which came undercooked and had to be sent back. All that said, the chef came to our table with apologies and they took the entree off the bill. The food was soooo good, once it came and was properly cooked, we will definitely be back. Perhaps our experience was just a one-off.

Tried different times of the day, thinking I would find the golden hour when delivery of fresh produce occurred. No such luck. The produce, from strawberrys to local corn, is not fresh. The corn is ALWAYS dry and berrys are 1 day away of spoiling. Very disappointing.

Our server had a couple of six top tables and the three of us at our table. The first six top was wrapping up, we had already placed our order before the other six top was seated. Our food was brought out by other servers. At that time we asked for condiments, (now for the second time, the first time when we placed our order). They said that they would tell our original server, which I saw that they did. Our original server went to the back and never came to the table. We asked another server for the condiments again, she brought them and made it seem like we got passed off. At that point we asked for a manager. Both the original server and manager came over. They both listened to the issues. The manager gave us a significant discount. That being said, we asked for the bacon crispy, it wasnt and it was not hot upon arrival. We asked for corn tortillas for the tacos, they were flour. By the time the condiments arrived, the other food was cold.It was Fathers day, the last thing that I wanted to do was complain about a bad experience. I wanted a nice brunch with my family. I was wished a Happy Fathers Day by our original server but at that point, I was too disappointed. Not their best effort.

Cool little cafe with a nice selection of groceries and a super friendly staff. Adorable interior. I like the variety of produce and groceries they stock as well as the grocery prices. The deli is a nice feature but they need to up their game. $14 for a Reuben sandwich is way too steep given the size of it, especially since no sides are included with it either. The #1 deli in Baltimore IMO - The Wine Merchant on Falls Road - charges less than $10 for the same sandwich and the portions are far more generous. Last time I was there they were out of corned beef and then I asked for something else and they were out of that too. I figure the place is pretty new and they will iron out the kinks though. Ill be back.

The food was absolutely delicious. I came with my family and we were a group of 6. My only complaint is that it was very difficult to fit everything we ordered onto the table. But, we heard good things about the food, so we wanted to order a variety of things. I think having a bigger table would have been better. Also, not all tables were equipped with everything. Our table had the seasoning s and sauces, but it didnt have the utensils. I grabbed the utensils container from another table. Other than space, I loved the richness of the broth from my order of pho. The other dishes were also very delicious. But the pho was my favorite.

The good: The steak, baby eggplant, and desserts were amazing. The ok: other food items were just ok (most things were over salted). The not so good: The timing and communication. One starter came out. Ten minutes later, we had to get the waitresss attention to let her know the other starter had not arrived. 30 minutes later, after many other tables seated after us had multiple courses, and after speaking to a manager, the second starter came out. Then the salad and one entree. Waitress comes by, we ask about the second entree (the steak). Waitress says she thought we were told they were out of steaks. Manager comes by a few minutes later, says they are not out of steak as theres a full butcher counter downstairs! Manager is deeply apologetic, offers to comp the meals (honestly, we had no issue paying but wanted the food!). Two different desserts are brought complementary - but not the one we ordered. Maybe four courses (versus large/small plates) are not their strength, but then dont offer that for restaurant week if you cannot deliver.

High end grocery store in the heart of Catonsville. Really nice inside! Prices are simply outrageous, however... 40-50% above where they should be. Example: a pint of strawberries is $7.99. Also, the staff are polite and helpful but poorly trained. Example: they have on several occasions used the wrong code for more expensive fruit when checking out. Even after correcting the girl, it was still wrong. Additionally, they struggle with simple tasks like putting too many items in a bag. Little things but for these prices I expect better. I hope they make it but I have my doubts.

I gave the cafe a try for a bacon egg and cheese on a bagel. Literally less than mediocre. It was like a microwaved Lenders bagel with a rubbery round egg like you would get at ROFO. Nothing gourmet about it. This owner/management has an idea but they are missing the mark. I would expect this market to be more like the markets in New York. Lots of fresh and gourmet options. We have gone to 818 Market restaurant twice, and it was 2 very different experiences. We went first in mid-April, and having recently decided to follow a more vegetarian diet, we ordered mostly the small plates. We were delighted by the mushroom tart, the brussel sprouts, and the roasted harissa cauliflower. The grilled Caesar was good, but would have been better with slightly less pickled items. I couldnt resist the lamb lollipops and I was not disappointed. The curry tofu was delicious, though could have used a touch more curry flavor. The price was slightly high, given that we only had small plates, but overall it was a very enjoyable meal. We heard that they had changed the menu, so we were excited to come back. However, our experience recently was vastly different, I am sad to report. Having read about issues with expediting and timing, we asked our server to wait before putting in our entree orders after our small plate orders. Our small plates arrived after a bit of waiting, no big deal. The roasted cauliflower was only about a quarter of a SMALL head of cauliflower-very tiny portion for a very inexpensive ingredient. Same with the roasted baby eggplant-2 thumb sized baby eggplants. The brussels sprouts were meh-very little flavor, and all were only lukewarm. About a minute after these arrived, another server came with our entrees, which we sent back to hold so we could eat the food that had just arrived. Much to our disappointment, our entrees were no better than the small plates. The crab cakes tasted fishy and old, no amount of lemon juice could brighten them up so we sent them back (this is perhaps the second time in my LIFE that I have sent food back). The NY strip that I ordered medium rare was grey and the roasted garlic blue cheese butter was more garlicky oil with a sprinkling of blue cheese-very un-appetizing looking, though it tasted ok. Overall, Im not sure if the kitchen has slowed down so food isnt moving as fast as it should, or if things have just gone downhill, but we were highly disappointed. Probably wont go back. Bummer.

This is a very nice looking place, very well kept and clean. They have a cafe with a top shelf bar, and a mini wine room to give the atmosphere a great kick. This place has everything from flowers, to baked goods, as its truly a one stop shop! HOWEVER, the pricing is absolutely abdurd! The chicken is $3.50 pp, a package of Paul Newmans cookies are $7.79, & 4 avocados cost me $8.00??? I was under the impression that this would be a nice affordable market with a touch of gourmet. I was also under the impression that this was going to be a well balanced and affordable place for the community. I shop at Whole Foods weekly, and this place is about 30-40% more expensive. The owners/investors should absolutely revamp their business plan to include reduced pricing, as it would be shameful for this business to go under for lack of shoppers whom cant afford the products.

Ambiance was decent, food was so-so, our bartender was friendly, but the lack of systems was a miss. While sitting at the bar & in the middle of ordering our meal, we were interrupted by other employees twice who simply walked up next to us & asked the bartender to make them a drink for their table. It was very weird. The biggest issue at 818 was the way the short, bald manager was treating the other employees. He was berating the bartenders & servers right in front of customers, saying things like Dont you have a brain? and Try using your words. It was shocking & unprofessional, his attitude was just a total turnoff & I felt bad for the staff.

Was excited to try the restaurant for lunch w/ my mom who was visiting from the eastern shore. We arrived at noon, only a few tables were seated so we had our choice of tables. Server greeted us and took drink order, when she came back we asked about the menu which is when she tells us they are out of crab cakes, crab soup, ahi tuna, and the fish and chips. Basically all the things I wanted to try..so I asked for the falafel which is when she told me they have it but “its not done yet” and won’t be for “a few hours”basically leaving no options other than burgers and a few sandwiches and three salads. Disappointed, I ordered the shrimp po boy which was fine , nothing stellar, nothing terrible. My mom got a plain hamburger. Sweet potato fries were decent, we paid and decided to browse the market downstairs where the bakery employee was super nice, he helped us pick some macaroons to take home, we went to pay when we encountered the manager. Here is where it gets interesting… she informs us that something my mom wanted to buy wasn’t for sale, even though it was out on display with a price tag on it. She says the liquor rep left it as decor and she can’t sell it , my mom really wanted it and asked if she could call someone and check.. her exact response was “ well I don’t know who I could call cause I’m the manager” at this point we wanted to leave… paid for the macaroons and did just that. Without another word the “manager” sulked off w/ out saying anything else she didn’t offer an apology or even attempt to find out why an item w a price tag was on display with other 818 merchandise but did not belong to their inventory. She didn’t even bother to ring us up for our bakery items even though she was standing at the cash register, she had the young man from the bakery come over to do it. It was not busy , we were actually the only customers in the market at that point. Over all between the menu items they didn’t have and the issue w the manager after our meal I was pretty disappointed and won’t be making a return visit.
