I have had many great experiences with Xpert Computers-- they kept me sane when my Dad was alive and constantly breaking his computer... they responded quickly and at a very, very fair price. Recently, when my iMac started to slow down, the Apple store stated it was obsolete and would not initiate a repair or review (aka just buy a new one). I use my iMac as a secondary workstation with just photos etc and really did not want to go this route $$$ wise. Xpert reviewed the situation and loaded more memory and switched out the hard drive to SSI and I have a new beast of an iMac at a very excellent price point. Everyone at Xpert is so nice, the level of customer service is outstanding.

When my laptop wouldnt turn on, my daughter (who is in IT) recommended Xpert Computers. I am so glad she did! Xpert Computers (Michele) is my new go to place for any problems! I needed the battery replaced on my MacBook Pro. I got an appointment to bring it in to Phil the same day I called and he had the job done within an hour. Its a tricky job to get done right and several place I called wouldnt even try. Im very pleased with how well Phil fixed my rig and how quickly I was able to get back up and running. And, the rate I paid was fair and reasonable.

I broke my laptop screen on Friday and needed it fixed by the following Monday as I work from home during the pandemic. I called Apple and was told that it would take weeks to get the screen replaced. I then found Xpert Computers and took my laptop there. Mitchell looked at it and told me that they didnt have a new screen but gave me 2 options to either wait 3 to 7 business days for a new screen or get a used one which they had at the shop and said that he would have it ready the next day even though their business was closed on the weekends. I gave the go-ahead for a used screen (it honestly looked pretty new to me and only had some scratches and a very small dent). I got a call by noon on Saturday that my laptop was ready. I must tell you that the tagline Fastest Reboot in Town really suits them. Mitchell went above and beyond to help me and the fact that he was willing to come in on his day off to fix my computer shows how this business cares about their customers. I highly recommend Xpert Computers. Thank you very much.

Unbelievably great service. I came in to have a harddrive replaced. He drive failed to transfer to the large SSD. He didnt charge me anything after several hours of work, because I decided not to move forward. Great communication and great work. This will be my go-to place for repairs indefinitely!

Excellent experience with person (Michel) & service at Xpert Computers. Had a laptop with a broken hinge/pieces and since a replacement part was not available, Michel was able to fix it so the laptop screen can be opened/closed again. He was very nice and helpful and did the job quickly (had it ready the next morning) and all for very low cost -- significantly less than what a couple others quoted, and got it done much faster.Highly recommend this business, and say this as someone who does some computer consulting/work.

My sons computer died and wouldnt even try to start. I took it into Xpert Computers and they called me the next day with an exact diagnosis and a quote. I immediately agreed and it was ready the next day. He offered to return the bad power supply, but I asked if he could recycle it and he was glad to. I hope I dont need his services soon, but its nice to know theres someone I can rely on if I do need him

Ive taken our familys laptops here a few times for different reasons: broken screen, virus/malware update/clean and switching out the memory chip (or whatever it is called... Im obviously not a computer person hence why I visit Xpert Computers). Ive always felt confident leaving my trusted computer there and it always comes back better than when Ive left it. They have also strived to provide a quick turn around. Ive been impressed.

I went in because my computer was running very slow. The man at the counter was honest with me and gave me all kinds of advice. He said he could run a service on my computer, but with my hardware and software it might not improve very much. He was honest and straight forward. You dont get that much these days. I was impressed. I might not have spent any money today, but I will be back when needed and I know I will be dealing with a reputable company.

Called looking for a very specific piece (short bracket m.2 screw), knew exactly what I needed and stayed open a few minutes after closing while I drove down - wasnt even going to charge me. Knowledgeable and friendly.Excellent customer service, called two other places in the area that pretty much waved me off or told me to bring my computer in and they can fix my problems.

My feelings of discomfort grew as I interacted with the staff. I believe I had read reviews for the Wake Forest XPert, but when I learned I would have to leave my new computer to copy the drive over to, I found that difficult to do so it took a while to shop for a hard drive to leave for the day instead. I was told it can take a full day so come at opening. My GPS then led me to the Cary location, less than 10 business days later. I had been quoted $45 but Michel told me $55, so I called the Wake Forest XPert and they said the price schedule had changed and now it is $55 and they would not honor $45 rate quoted. So I stayed, and then Michel looked at my computer I was holding and said he was going to have to charge to take it all apart. There were visibly no screws in the back but I offered to remove the hard drive myself, and once he heard I could do that he said there would be no charge. So my misgivings began here, with his glum mood and the auto mechanic tactics. I told him the drive was not 1TB so was likely 500 GB. He told me it could be finished in a couple of hours or at least by the end of the day. He called me a couple hours later to say that there were 400 GB and the time remaining was 8 hours (which changes) so it would have to run overnight and he would call. He sounded excited and no longer glum. I started to feel somewhat uncomfortable leaving my files so I went at closing time to see if it finished. He was defensive and told me the time remaining was 1 hour 50 and he would call me in the morning. He did leave and lock up the store so I planned to come back at 10 am opening. He called before 10 am to say it was finished, and I said, Oh youre early, the stores not even open. Then he told me he had come in at 7 am, and he sounded excited. I brought in with me a statement that the store had safeguarded my property, and I asked him politely to sign it, or if he didnt like the statement I wrote he could write one. He then grew very upset and said he would not offer either a verbal or a written statement. He was very angrily asking me Why didnt you ask this when you first came in? I asked him why he was agitated and I told him that I was not concerned when I came in, but I would like the assurance now. He continued to be angry and agitated and refused to offer any kind of promise that nothing had been done with my files. He somehow forgot to charge me, and I was concerned by this degree of reaction and further that there would then be no record of the transaction so I asked if he wanted payment. I paid and I then called the Wake Forest XPert. I talked to Grayson and then Austin who claimed that the locations have no affiliation, that they split months ago, or three years ago or two. I inquired why they followed the same price schedule if they were different stores. Austin said to be competitive. I said if they are split they are surely communicating quickly to keep prices tracked so closely. Austin mentioned that they had a service called cloning where they copy a hard drive for $45 and he would have given me that price if I had come there. But I had already asked this on the phone and they did not honor the price I was given or mention the term cloning. I essentially felt sheisted and overall heisted.

Michel is a genius! While on a business visit in NC from CA I had some major problems with my MacBook Pro and with Apple stores being closed I took it to 2 different computer repair shops and none of them could figure out what was going on with it. So I dropped it off at Xpert Computers and Michel got it fixed in 24 hours for a reasonable price.

My computer was infected by a hacker and the experience was and continues to be traumatic. I appreciate the service I received here. My laptop was diagnosed as being greatly infected and my hard drive failing. Hard drive died a horrible death. Id heard these guys were really good from a friend so I took my laptop to them on Saturday expecting it to take maybe a week.I received a call the following business day (Monday) confirming that it was, indeed, the hard drive and how much it would be for the repair. The price was very reasonable so I agree to the repair and it was done by the end of the day.My machine was back up and running in less than two business days. It was actually more like one business day if you consider how late in the day I dropped it off.Very professional, very helpful, and very fast.

Only charged a nominal service fee for the repair. Impressed by the honest customer service. Well definitely bring back future services requests to Xpert Computer.

I brought my laptop in, and although they could have uninstalled then reinstalled my os to fix the problem, they tried some other things that fixed the problem. So, instead of it costing me $200, it came to $35. Very honest people, could have taken advantage of a non IT person like me, but they didn’t.

The Xpert Computer guys are exactly what they are coined as...experts. They recently fixed two of my computers: an HP18 and a ThinkPad T450s. One had a hard drive failure, the other was a software problem. This showed me that they are well rounded in their skill set because they solved two completely different problems. Recently my custom built gaming PC froze, and I force-shutdown. I turned the computer on to find out that the computer didnt boot. I tried everything to diagnose what was wrong, including repositioning the components. I needed help diagnosing the problem, so I went to Xpert Computer Services.Not only did they diagnose the problem, but they diagnosed the problem within 24 hours. I had a great experience from beginning to end. I was quoted a price range originally over the phone, but in the end the repair was actually a little cheaper than the original quote. They called initially when they discovered the issue to confirm how I wanted to proceed and they called when the repair was finished to let me know it was ready for pick-up.

I have know John Habers and John Lanzer and the other guys at Xpert for a few years now. They are the GO TO place for anything with computers, laptops or IT needs. I can always trust what they tell me and being a small business owner in the same sort of industry (mobile phone repair), I am VERY happy to have a place I can recommend my customers to with computer problems where I know they will be treated the same as I would treat them. Real customer service and honesty is something that doesnt exist much anymore in this world and its great to see businesses who still believe that making the customer happy and knowing your craft are the most important things to be successful.

Expert cut my rigs CPU temp by half, and had it back to me in less then two hoursExcellent customer service and hardware and product knowledge. I am a tech and rarely use such services but did not have the time to reset an expensive aftermarket cpu cooling fan on a rig I had built a few years back whose temps were running high. Since setting this particular Cooler Master onto what at that time was a pretty expensive CPU (i7 2600K @ $318) was probably the most frustrating and nail biting part of the build I just wanted to go in and have it done and preferably with no overnight.So they removed the Cooler Master-cleaned out any collected dust and grease, reapplied thermal paste and reset/fit the cooler correctly back onto the CPU as agreed and at a very fair price.Then they went above and beyond and realigned the case cover back on correctly to insure it was a snug fit. That required a few screws and some alignment. The case cover panel was a mess when I brought it in, and I fully expected to get it back again a mess. But I did not which was a nice positive.Another above and beyond was they rechecked temp in bios. I had given them the temp specs I had that made me decide to bring the rig in. The temps were brought down a full 25 degrees! Under full Load it goes up maybe 10 degrees-tops. I don’t think I ever was getting the full benefits of the aftermarket fan-I think I did not install it fully/correctly. Thus it’s like I just got a new rig!Finally, they were able to get it back to me in less than two hours! That’s just not heard of anymore. In fact it is one of the principle reasons I was on the fence with bringing it on. I am glad I went to Expert, and they restored my faith in local computer repair after it had been badly damaged by Intrex a few years back.It is nice to support a local small business like Xpert and given the option between big box store service repair I would pick Xpert any day of the week and twice on Sunday

I travel every week for business. My laptop was running slow and I couldnt get my virus scanning software to run. So I dropped my laptop off for Michael to look at. He cleaned up the virus that was causing the problem and adjusted some of my Control Panel settings that I had set incorrectly. And to summarize my poor experience.1) Accidently severed a game unit controller2) Xpert Computer Repair and Service said they could fix it - Soldering job3) Received it back in a day4) I paid for the service and was offered to return if there were any problems5) Tested controller that same hour, it didnt work so I returned6) Person who offered for me to return, didnt even take a look at the job before telling me that he couldnt do anything about it7) After asking for the company to at least unscrew the unit so I could see if something was possibly unplugged - nothing was unplugged or broke inside - I called ubreakifix the following day8) UBREAKIFIX - quickly found out that it was poorly done - soldering and insulating job9) They said theyd look it over before charging to see if they could fix it.10) They did fix it in a days time, and they tested to insure that it in fact worked before changing me. And they too offered if anything went wrong with that unit to return and theyd take a look. (I dont have to return because the unit works now - even though I appreciate the professionalism and commitment to a job well done)I dont appreciate one bit the way I was treated and cared for by Xpert Computer Service and Repair. I was in fact just used for essentially an unearned buck. I hope that you all XCS&R, learn to treat all your customers with the full degree of respect and professionalism they deserve.Thats my review for you all.
