I only trust the people in this building with my piercings. they really put the person over the dollar. if a piercing isn’t going to work, they tell you. they care so much about safety and that means so much in a world where people just want to make money. if you’re looking for a piercing studio you can rely on, modern ritual is the place.

Such a great experience. They really care about their clients. They’re extremely knowledgeable about everything piercing. They went above and beyond to care for me and my partner and I couldn’t recommend them enough. I would never go anywhere else. They are extremely sterile and careful. The actual store is beautiful and clean. Like I said: it’s a great place with great people.

This place far exceeded my expectations. I called ahead because I had questions about getting my daughters nose pierced and the person I spoke with was very friendly and helpful. They were accommodating when I needed a last minute appointment and made the process smooth and simple. When we arrived we had a warm greeting and were shown all of our options. There was no condescending tone when my daughter asked to be shown something in a lower budget range. When other employees came out to the lobby area they were very friendly and attentive. Each person that we interacted with showed extreme professionalism. My daughter said when she went back to have her piercing done, the piercer was very thorough. She made sure my daughter understood everything that was going to be done and even took the time to show her how she sterilized the instruments. I would 100% recommend Modern Ritual for any piercing needs.

Its one of those you get what you pay for places, in a good way. Its definitely a little pricey, but my piercings were done very well (and Ive had botched piercings before). The entire experience was very enjoyable and Reba is awesome! Will definitely go back for any body piercings in the future. If you want it done right the first time, this is the place!

I went here a few days ago to get my septum pierced! i made the appointment the same day. everyone i interacted with was very kind with me being nervous, professional & they made sure to show me all the options available. rob did my piercing and he was very nice! the procedure was quick and smooth. i’m very happy with the result. definitely recommend this place :)

The people where nice definitely friendly but my thing is if you’re getting a septum your should be charged for that, if the piercing is 35-40 in total why am I paying an extra $20 for the ends of a septum bull ring it should be all charged together for at most up to $50 I understand quality but you can go somewhere else and not get charged for the ring and the 2 balls for a much much higher value! But all I do have to say is that they did a good job!

I went here for a third lobe piercing and it was wonderful! The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and there was a wide selection of beautiful earrings. The piercing process was clean, easy, and relaxed. Great place!

I went to get my ears pierced for the first time and it was a wonderful experience! I was nervous at first, but they are very trans friendly and made me feel very welcomed! Was def worth the hour long drive, and I can’t wait to go back for my next piercing!

Went here while visiting family to get my tragus and nose pierced. It was very cute, clean and professional. The only downside is that the jewelry is a bit overpriced, but loved their selection. Reba did a great job!

Front desk staff seemed very annoyed with my wanting to shop for jewelry. Felt pushed into options I was not interested in. Did not feel welcomed at all and felt treated as though I knew nothing about my piercings I’ve had for years. Would not recommend or return.

I had a great experience yesterday getting a set of ear lobe piercings. The shop is immaculate and everyone is highly professional. Yes, the prices are a little high but you truly get what you pay for. I’ve had piercings done at shops that didn’t have such high standards and I’ve always regretted it. Lower quality jewelry = longer and more difficult healing time, in my experience. I will certainly be back for future projects!

I wanted a facial dermal removed but I’ve been scared. After some research, I picked Modern Ritual, based on their reviews. I’m so glad I did!! I’ve been getting pierced for over 25 years & this is by far the nicest, cleanest studio I’ve ever been to. The guy at the front desk was super nice & Reba, who did the removal, was FANTASTIC. It took 2 minutes. This place is top notch. I drove an hour to get there & it was more than worth it. I’d drive 3 hours for this nice of an experience. Highly, highly recommend.

Got my earlobes pierced and overall my experience was pleasant and I am happy with my piercings. I do wish there would have been more time discussing placement. I felt like the consultation part was rushed. I do understand the service charge but the cost for earings is ridiculous. $80 for tiny stainless steel (medical grade steel) ball earings was a little unsettling. More emphasis is placed on the store aspect of this business in my opinion. They are there to sell jewelry.. oh and you can get piercings too.

I went there to get my belly button pierced and they told me that my body wasn’t right for it which was upsetting but then we did a cartilage piercing and I love it so much and it was amazing I have no complaints I’m so glad I went to them and got a safe wonderful piercing!

Food horribly dry and salted beyond

I got my septum pierced back in December. Previously, I’ve had a (eyebrow) piercing done by a different shop and simply a month later ended up with issues with then having to take it out. However, getting my septum done here has left me with no problems even months later. They were very professional, clean and helpful with instructions on how and what I should do to take care of it. :)

I visited today as a walk-in. My navel piercing closed during pregnancy. I did not have it done here initially. They were ready, willing and able to open it and provide me with a nose piercing as well! The jewelry is high quality and gorgeous. Ive never seen such a clean and sterile environment. Their customer service is absolutely unmatched, Reba is amazing and took time to explain the process of what was going to happen during the piercing. With this being my second time having my septum pierced (the first time was done by a different local shop that unfortunately did not pierce it properly) I was extremely nervous, however from the moment I walked in a was greeted by someone who was very kind and extremely professional (I unfortunately dont remember their name). Reba was my piercer and was absolutely awesome, explained certain anatomy aspects that I had no clue would pose a challenge for a septum piercing (previous shop didnt tell me), took time to set up guidelines (and let me look at them) and then made the piercing process extremely quick. I had no clue just how badly the previous shop messed up the piercing until Reba pierced it. It is now day two of this piercing and it feels absolutely great, with the previous experience I was still in a lot of and felt like someone punched me in the nose. If you want your piercing done right, go see Reba.

Ive been pierced here a few times; I often have a lot of questions and I appreciate the time taken to provide answers and thorough explanations.

I was a walk-in on a First Friday. I wanted to have my ears re-pierced and to get a dermal/surface anchor below the middle of my collarbone. I met David and Chad. Both were very friendly and helpful. Everything was so bright and clean! Chad helped me pick my jewelry and did my piercing. He took a ton of time on the positioning for the surface anchor and making sure it would look good. He was super patient and did a great job keeping me feeling calm during the piercing process. It has been 3 weeks, the new piercing seems to be healing well and I love how it looks!

This is the only place I will go for piercings/body jewelry. The whole shop is immaculately clean (which is super important to me). They pay close attention to details, provide high quality jewelry, and I trust the amazing staff there. They sterilize everything onsite meticulously, are very informative and knowledgeable, and build great rapport with their clientele. They are on the higher end price-wise, but you get what you pay for, and they are worth every penny.

I initially discovered Modern Ritual in 2014 when I was doing a search for area piercing shops who stocked a large selection of body jewelry; to find a shop within a 15 mile drive in this area which stocks more than what one can typically find at your local Hot Topic is rare. My partner and I made the quick trip over and what we discovered in Modern Ritual far exceeded our expectations. The shop is simple, sleek, earthy, immaculately clean, and stocked with beautiful high end body jewelry. Saying all that, Ive always believed you can tell a lot by an establishment from their restrooms. Just as immaculate as the showroom, it was outfitted with with a touch-free sink, soap dispenser, waste can, and touch-free facilities. We were helped by Reba, a piercer. We told her we were in to check out septum jewelry. She showed me every piece they had in stock, and while she thorough in explaining the merits of each piece, never once pressured us to buy. I was so impressed by her professionalism, I chose her to pierce my nipples. Just as before, she explained all the jewelry options, from stainless steel to titanium, and was in no rush to close a deal. Anyone can see shes in this business to adorn people and help them feel beautiful. Modern Rituals piercing room is medical grade, squeaky clean and with an autoclave on premises, clients can feel comfortable knowing the staff cares about the health of their clients. Reba and I had a substantial conversation a about the placement of my new piercings. She took her time and great care in marking the locations to be pierced; shes a consummate professional and super easy to get along with. I wont be pierced anywhere else.

I got my rook pierced at Modern Ritual. As far as the actual piecing went it was professional, efficient, and clean. Honestly, it was a great experience regarding the piecing. However, I am of simple tastes when it comes to jewelry. I asked several times to be shown a plain metal post and ends. I was never shown anything even close to what I asked for and was ignored when I asked for the price of the items I WAS shown. After it was all said and done I had spent $120 for the most minimal jewelry I could find. I am aware that it was high quality, but would have appreciated it if the individual had listened to me instead of just trying to make a sale. I settled on the jewelry because I just wanted to get it over with.

Im editing my review from a few months ago. At the time I had only bought jewelry (this is one of the only places I will buy jewelry from now) and had Rob helped me out with a piercing I had got elsewhere. Based off that I will keep my word that Rob is fantastic. Today I got pierced by Reba who also was absolutely fantastic! Im very picky about who I let pierce me and after having previously been here and having bought jewelry here there was no question that Id get pierced here. They have such a wide selection of high quality jewelry and they keep everything SO clean. They werent upset when I asked for spore test results, and showed me proof that everything had been properly sterilized (and my friend who was getting a new gem installed in a CBR for a healed piercing). Their actual piercing area is kept beyond clean and looks medical. Also worth mentioning that on their paperwork for piercing/installing new jewelry they have a section asking about preferred name and pronouns which shows theyre friendly and dont discriminate towards people and try to make everyone as comfortable as possible in every way possible. Their service goes beyond my typical standards, which are pretty high for anyone providing body mod services.

I was very nervous but the guy who was about to pierce my ear explained what he was going to do every step of the way. Even afterwards they told me to call with any concerns or questions. Had Daith piercing have not had any problems. I plan to have my left ear done. I was looking for a place that I would have reassurance in that they are professional and be reassured I would have best daith piercing because I suffer from migraines. Daith piercing is being recommended however the piercer is very important. I felt modern Ritual gave me that assurance that Rob was experienced and cared about his client.

I had my cartilage pierced this afternoon and think that I might get my future piercings here. The whole shop was clean enough to be a doctors office and the staff does a great job of keeping you comfortable while poking you with needles. They have some great jewelry choices as well. I brought my daughter in on the 21st of December for a septum piercing for a Christmas gift. It was our first time in the shop and her first piercing. The shop was very clean and the guy at the counter was very nice. After completing our paperwork and paying for the piercing and the aftercare solution we were taken back. The guy stuck her not once, not twice, not three times, but four times with the piercing needle. She was bleeding and in pain, more pain than she shouldve been in. I wanted to stop it and leave, but she really wanted the piercing so she suffered through the trauma. I was so angry, but I also work in the service industry and he got tipped anyway. Also was told afterward that he was a guest piercer. For an over $100 piercing, with tip, it shouldnt take 4 tries and we should have been told that he wasnt the regular piercer because I wouldve either rescheduled or went elsewhere. If this wasnt in his wheelhouse, then he probably shouldnt be doing them. I have several piercings, not done there, and I NEVER had to be stuck 4 times for any of them. Bad experience and wont be recommending it to anyone.Response: While I understand the human error component, we are all human 2 times I can chalk up as error...4 times questions competency.

I got my nose pierced here by Rob earlier this week and had a great experience. My background is in biology and medicine so I appreciated how explicit they were about all of their sterilization procedures. I forgot to let Rob know that I have a tremor, so I think the amount that I was shaking might have come off as a lot more nervous than I was? But in any case, he was very kind, answered all of my questions, and talked through every step of the process (super useful when theres a drape on your face and you cant see whats coming).Two days out and I have almost no swelling, no pain, and have had no trouble with the aftercare. Overall worth the 2.5 hour drive round trip, will definitely be back.

My piercings hurt so badly and Rob did not pierce me with the correct jewelry to heal so now all three of my piercings are embedded... No one should go here to get pierced far too overpriced and completely negligent.- Im sure its true that you pierced me with an okay piece of jewelry but the length was not healing length according to the Ohio revised code. I only started showing signs of embedded piercings the day that I called your shop I stand by my review over priced, a waste of money, obviously only in it to make a quick buck.

Even though I didnt get a piercing yesterday, (Aug 13) totally my fault not showing up with enough money. The girl at the front desk with the awesome pink hair, which I loved, was so imformative to come over to close by where I was sitting to explain the process of the piercing. I asked if its better for a stud or hoop for the initial nostral piercing and she told me there are pros and cons to both. She showed me the beautiful jewelry and after seeing everything, I think I will be going with a stud. Now will come the hard part of choosing which beautiful piece of jewelry I love the most.
