Such a cute little bookstore and coffee shop! The service at the cafe was friendly and a decent selection of espresso drinks. While we didnt get food, the snacks in the case looked delicious as well. I loved the vibe of the book store and there is a small patio section with a few tables outside to sit and watch the world go by

The Owl and Turtle is the quintessential bookstore that every book lover dreams about! They have a great selection of childrens books, including a section dedicated to local author Chris Van Dusen (a family favorite). This is a quaint bookstore where you will want to grab a book, sit down, read, and relax. A true bookworms paradise!

This place is just cozy and refreshing. We received very kind and prompt service at the coffee counter. Despite coffee not being the only focus of this place, they do it right, offering quality coffee, and traditional drinks, not just the syrupy lattes and gas station brew coffee. We got an El Salvadoran pour over, and a cappuccino, both prepared with great care. After you get your drink, you have the pleasure of browsing a moderate, but rich collection of books available for perusal and purchase. The “staff favorites” section even includes handwritten reviews on small cards inside the covers of the books. The upstairs area features children’s books and beanbags and kid sized chairs for kids to enjoy while reading. This was probably our favorite spot in Camden, but get there early because the small space can feel a little crowded once the late morning visitors filter in. Definitely a “don’t-miss” spot in Camden!

This is separately my favorite cafe and my favorite book store. I came by and found 3 amazing books on the bargain shelf, and tried a different pour over for each day we were visiting. They were so friendly that i left them my Instagram contact info on the last day we were in town!Years ago the first time i came in was the first time seeing a pour over coffee, having tried it at home now its really just the best way to make single cups.

The Owl & Turtle Bookshop is one of my favorite places -- not just in Camden or in Maine, but anywhere. Its the perfect bookstore -- cozy and intimate, with an excellent and well-curated selection of books, knowledgeable owners who take the time to get to know their customers, and a great little cafe where book lovers can gather and catch up over delicious coffee. Due to current circumstances, we havent been able to travel up to Maine so far this year, but it has been extremely easy to get in touch with them to place orders for shipping, and we have received excellent recommendations even from afar.

New Owner, new experience.Once a great place to go as a family; no longer. If you want your children to be publicly scolded for touching books they are interested in, or your teenagers to be treated like criminals because of their age, by all means, shop here.I personally will never set foot in here again.Such a shame.

If I had to start a bookshop business, it would be exactly like this one. From the nice terrace to the great selection of books with little handwritten notes from the staff to the kindness of the staff, the good beverages, the cozy setting and the graphic design of their logo on their front window and tote bags... everything is perfect and charming like in a movie of Nora Ephron or Gilmore Girls. This is heaven or #bookshopgoals for any bookworm ;)

My partner and I swung in with our 6 month old daughter for a quiet moment to enjoy coffee and look for books. My partner sat down upstairs in the rocking chair away from the other guests to breast feed. One of the workers told her she would be more comfortable at the bathroom across the street. This has been the only negative reaction we have received to public breastfeeding in all of Camden. We were planning on buying some books, but not after that display of rudness. Do yourself a favor and visit the antique book store just down the street.

New owners as of November 1, 2016 were super helpful to me! I went in looking for a book or two for my daughters who love to read - theyve read many many YA books so I wasnt sure Id find something new. But I did. The new owners - Craig and Maggie - greeted me and took the the time to help me find some new titles. I didnt feel pressured to buy anything. Of course I did ultimately choose a book and my daughters were delighted with it. I didnt have time to stay for coffee but the cafe area looked great too.

Coffee was extremely overpriced, to begin with. I asked for vanilla flavoring but there was no taste at all. It was mediocre, at first. As I kept drinking, however, the coffee became extremely disgusting. Horrible aftertaste. Waste of money, but books are lit, so go for the books. Avoid the coffee at all costs.
