This review is written with respect to the Ocean Honda service department - I did not have contact with the sales department.I recently took my Honda here for a 75,000-mile inspection/maintenance. Their recommendation was $3,000 worth of work on 5-6 independent issues, in addition to the $500 inspection/normal maintenance I took it in for. The car was in great working order as far as I could tell, and has always been treated fairly gently, so this made me a bit suspicious. To satisfy my curiosity, I took it to an independent shop for a full inspection to get a second take on the situation. Their recommendation was $100 worth of work for a brake fluid flush.I understand that a dealership is always going to recommend more than an independent shop, but something is obviously amiss here. Ultimately, I was forced to conclude that Ocean Honda was more than happy to recommend a lot of parts/maintenance that I either dont need at all, or wont need in the near future. If I turn out to be wrong, and any of those systems cause problems within the foreseeable future, I will eat my words here, apologize, and adjust my review. Until then, Im going to be pretty wary of their service department, and will probably seek service elsewhere.To Ocean Honda ownership: Id recommend, if there does happen to be a practice of advocating for unnecessary maintenance, that you get your ducks in a row. People, including me, will be happy to pay you for honest work. But they will absolutely leave you in a second, flat, if they feel they cant trust you.

My encounter with the service department was very disappointing. After being instructed to return the following day to order a part for my Acura, I arrived and was informed by the service/parts department (John) that the Acura dealership was open and I should just go there. This attitude was contrary to the conversation I had the previous day and was a waste of my time. It seems they’re not interested in new business.To everyone else, I am sure there’s another Honda or Acura dealership open and you should just go there.

The manager threatened me to buy an accord just because I tested drive it. Who begged me to come and have a test drive? It’s you and your staff. Never encountered such rude and unprofessional car dealers. Even for the standard of dealers, they are the absolute worst I have encountered in many years. Already filed a complaint to Honda and told my colleagues and friends to stay away. Customers should not be lied or threatened, learn your lesson.

Very poor customer sales team. My son graduated college 3 years ago and we leased him a car @ Ocean. My son contacted Ocean during the week and discuss at length options to buy out the lease and transfer the car to his name. The salesmen said no problem , lets make a appt for Sunday and we can handle the buyout / transfer.Arrived Sunday from the EastBay on time at 11am, the sales person greeted us and stated Yes, that was me you spoke too. Please sit down Went downhill from there , he had no clue and needed to speak to the sales/finance manager. Waste of time/gas, he came back and basically said contact Honda finance On Monday to buy out your lease .The sales team was outstanding 3 years ago, currently poor sales service and would not recommend Ocean to anyone going forwardThe sales persons was 1st or 2nd office right of the street entrance.

I write this review in hopes to challenge Honda of Burlingame to improve their culture of treating their prospective customers with the utmost professionalism. I am a physician and work routinely to assess a situation objectively. I hope that my honest review of this place will hold Honda of Burlingame to a higher standard.After a long shift at the hospital, I went with my boyfriend to Honda of Burlingame to test drive a vehicle at 2pm on Aug 29 2020. When we walked in, there were many sales associates around. We were seated with a person named James Yu. After talking with me and my boyfriend for a few seconds, he clearly didn’t want to work with us and made an excuse to pass us up as prospective customers, without a clear reason. It was odd because my boyfriend and I just wanted to test drive the vehicle, which shouldn’t have taken much of his time. James Yu simply said he can’t help us and walked off. My boyfriend and I were perplexed as to the reason why James denied to help us. Eventually another sales associate approached me and my boyfriend and asked if we were helped yet. We explained the situation we had with James Yu. The associate calls James Yu to figure out what happened and returned to us after a few minutes. The resounding message from the sales associate was, “We do not want to waste your time...we can not help you here.” It was mind boggling to us because all we wanted to do was simply test drive a vehicle. My boyfriend tried to gain some insight from the associate about the situation but ultimately the associate said that they would like us to find another dealership and that they cannot help us.My boyfriend and I ended up at Honda of San Bruno. My boyfriend ended up buying a car from them. Honda of San Bruno were so respectful, welcoming, and gay friendly if that matters.

I saw their big ad on Facebook last weekend (October 17, 2020) so I messaged them outlining my needs and terms, looking for 2 cars to lease, no trade in. They sent me back a message asking for me to come in so they can see my trade in and show me their deals. I explained my needs and terms again, just as I did in the original message, no need to come in at all. Eventually they said they would have a lease specialist contact me. They asked me for my name and phone number, which I gave them. Its been a week now and I havent heard anything at all. Ill be sticking with Toyota from here on out, as they were able to arrange the complete deal and have papers ready for two cars without me coming in at all. All I had to do was sign, a simple half hour process. Thanks Ocean Honda for completely turning me away from all future Hondas. I typically need 4 new cars per year, but not from you.

On August 29, I called and inquired if a 2020 Passport Elite was available and made an appointment to see and test drive the vehicle, the same day. Upon arriving, there was a Passport on the small front lot, and the showroom seemed chaotic, with no clear direction or greeter. We walked to the middle of the place and a salesperson asked if we needed help. Another Honda dealer told us to ask for James, so we did. James sat us down and I told him we wanted to see and test drive a Passport, ideally taking delivery in a few weeks but was flexible with it. James randomly got up from his desk, grabbed a set of keys, and said another client had arrived and James left us standing there. Another salesperson eventually approached, as we stood awkwardly in the middle of the showroom, asking if wed been helped. This salesperson called James on his phone and walked away from us. I explained we had an appointment and showed him the texts, confirming the appointment. The salesperson said he didnt want to waste our time and directly asked about pricing of the Passport and if we can take a car home today. I advised him if the price was right, Id buy the car today and I showed him an email from Honda of Serramonte, with their pricing for the Elite model. The salesperson said theres no way they can match the price. I again told and showed the salesperson we had an appointment and had never seen the Passport nor driven one and he again said he didnt want to waste our time. I flatly asked, if he wanted us to leave and go to another dealer, to which he said yes.I have purchased more cars than I will admit and have never been pushed away from a dealer or denied any kind of service, customer or professionalism wise. We turned around and walked out, in utter shock. There seems to be a culture focused on selling cars at the expense of providing any iota of customer service, as the salesman talked with the presumed sales manager behind the desk as well.We drove to Honda of San Bruno, test drove a Passport, and bought an Elite model that will be picked up today. Our client rep Suhair and the manager were fantastic and utmost professional, focused on customer service. Avoid the Burlingame store at all costs, awful on all accounts.

Have been to Ocean Honda both for service and for re-financing a leased vehicle. Both experiences were stellar and theyve become my go-to dealer in the bay area. Staff are friendly, professional, and knowledgeable across all their departments (sales/finance/service). I never felt forced or pressured into any purchasing decisions, and they gave me detailed pros and cons so I could make my own educated decisions. They generally tried to have me in and out as quickly as possible, and where there were delays they kept me informed and in the loop. Going to a car dealership isnt the most fun thing in the world, but they seem to sincerely try to take the pain out of the experience as much as possible. Strongly recommended, especially if you own or are considering a Honda.

By far the best experience I have ever had with a dealership. Long story short the previous dealership I went to was a complete scam. APR rate was extremely high. Car was overpriced the list goes on. But the moment I went to Ocean Honda the nightmare ended. Literally ! I spoke to the sales manager Van and told him my situation. ( this was on a Thursday) on Saturday I was able to trade in my car and leave with a brand new 2019 accord sport. !! Talk about amazing !! I highly recommend this place hands down. You will NOT leave disappointed.

The guy that helped me the first time I walked in mentioned that they will detail my car, do a free smog check, and fill up my tank for free. The next day I went in to officially finance my car. The guy that helped me the first time was not there so I got help from another lady. I mentioned it to the manager and he said that yes they were able to do that. When I mentioned it to the lady who does the paper work she said they don’t do that. She talked to the manager about it and they were only going to do it because the guy that helped me the first time had already mentioned it to me. So I took my car the next day to get it “detailed” and they literally made me waste almost an hour of my time so it can get washed and vacuumed something I could’ve done myself. To tops it off they didn’t even fill up my tank as they promised.

We just bought our second car from this dealership. Weve had a great experience both times and highly recommend them. We worked with Lauro both times and the finance department was very helpful as well. We live over an hour away, but came back to this dealership because of the great customer service and the peace of mind that comes from dealing with people you already know are trustworthy. We will soon have a third driver in the family and will probably be paying them another visit in the future.

Update: 2/20/2018 --After I posted this review, service manager, Lisa reached out to me to inquire about the issue. She verified all the information and agreed to make things right. She ordered the number plate bracket for me and gave me a call again next day to drop by so that she could fix it. She fixed it for me for free and also gave me a free service coupon for next time. She guaranteed that this is one off scenario and her team is committed to provide best service to their customers. I am going to give this place couple of more visits and see if this really was a one off things. Will keep you updated!!--------------------------------------------------This was the second time I serviced my car at Ocean Honda and both times my experience has not been great. During the first visit, I had my brake pads changed and charges were very high ($780) for my 2012 Accord. You would at least expect a temporary loaner if you are spending such high amount, but I was offered nothing. However, I was promised that I will receive one free service the next visit.I call about 3 months later for the service appointment and I mention that I was promised a free service. They agreed and took my appointment for Saturday. I show up for my service and I make sure to mention that I need a number plate bracket fixed on front of my car, that is very important for me (in fact the only reason I visited them). Since I was getting free service, I was willing to shell some money on this fix.However, I get a call back after 5 hours that my car is ready and when I asked about the number plate they said they completely forgot about it. Service manager was going to check if they have brackets available and call me back, he calls me back saying nothing is available and will have to be ordered. This was frustrating as I wanted to get this done this time.I go to pick my car up and my bill is $180!!!! I tried to mention that I was promised I will be covered for this service but well, service manager was in hurry to get rid of me. He charged me $180 for oil change and multi-point inspection!!! I can get that done from outside for less than $60. This was the tipping point as I was charged excessively and I didnt even get what I wanted.Save your time and money and go somewhere else. Other service centers will also offer loaner if you spend more than $250. At Ocean Honda, only thing they care about is money - no service, not customer needs.I give 2 stars because it was easy to get appointment 7 days out. Now I think its because no one wants to get work done from these guys!

I took my car in for an airbag recall. They tried to persuade me to have servicing work done there at the same time which I would have to pay for. I said no, I can do my servicing for less money at jiffy lube. Then I needed a ride home and back. The ride home went smoothly. But I had to wait and hour and a half after my car was done to get a ride back to pick up car, even though they told me 20 min. Not happy with this servicing dept.

She, is so Totally dedicated to her job! All the people working there are great as well, and the mechanics are quick, neat and clean.I would recommend this DEALER SHIP to EVERYONE out there!Ocean Honda is nice & clean ,and comfortable leather chairs in the waiting room along with a nice T.Vto watch. I made a Saturday 10AM appointment for an oil change, I asked the lady on the phone on how long the service will take because I will wait at the dealership during the service, and was told about an hour for the oil change.I arrived at 9:45AM on Saturday, waited 15 minutes before being helped. The service specialist told me it will take at least couple of hours. I said I was told an hour for the oil change, he then told me, there are several cars in front of me before they can work on my car.I asked what is the point of the appointment if I had to wait for all other cars to finish. The service guy said its only to guarantee a spot on the day. Apparently these people dont really understand appointment or the meaning of good customer service.Even though this oil change is supposed to be free because Id purchased the car there, its really not free when I have to wait hours. I rather pay a small fee and get my oil change elsewhere with better overall customer service.Looks like I wont be taking my car to service at this dealership or buy another car from them again.

This was my 4th time going to this service center within 16 months. I have been always satisfied by the service and should thank- Jason Towns, Alder Lee, Lincoln Chin for making it smooth experience for 1st three. However my interaction with Christopher NG was not good and he seems to makes a fool out of the customer. He quotes normal service unrealistically high and will persuade you to do the service, which is not even required at the point (according to Honda maintenance service chart also). Made me replace my car’s transmission fluid and brake fluid at 30K mileage. Under normal driving conditions (true for me) even Honda recommends these services at 45K and 90K respectively!

Do NOT support this business as they are fraudsters. Not only did they mislead my wife and I about a used Honda Odyssey, but they led me to believe that I had to buy an option agreement just to have the car inspected by my mechanic.After taking the car to my mechanic, I discovered that the car had ample damage that wasnt disclosed to us. For example, they told us that the car had minor damage to the bumper when, in fact, the car had several engine compartment components replaced. In addition, the car had damage on the right side which wasnt disclosed. Its clear that they are trying to sell a car for more than its actually worth.Im actively investigating how I can recoup my fees including speaking to attorneys.Save yourself the headache and avoid doing business with this shady shady company.

Very Dissapointment with honda i have been driving honda for 15 yrs now no more . does not listen what a customer has to say . my honda lease is due soon . i call honda and talked to carlos in the sales dept . i ask carlos one simple question how much would you buy my car .he replied i am not interested in buying your car if u want to get into another lease i can help . Carlos thinks i am dump or maybe he is playing dump . i think this is how the sales people work just to rip your off . from the day i lease this car nothin but problem and stress . from the sales to the service rip off .so here is the entire story . the fair value market of the car KBB and car fax is worth more then 10 day buy out amount . so if i am selling this car i pocket at lease 2k and who ever buy the car get the title of the car . it is hard work going from delear to dealer asking this .but beleive me if the entire condition of the car is in good condition with low milage someone will buy it . I was correct about it someone gave me appraisal on the car .so if you making a 2 k profit arent you using the money to buy out another car and get into another lease with honda . buying out a car and getting in to another lease is 2 different thing . dont try to confused the customer . you loose a valuable client

**Update** 12/5/18 - After my previous experience, Lincoln, the service manager contacted me and wanted an opportunity to improve my bad experience. So I gave him the opportunity and took my vehicle back to get serviced. I can honestly say that he was attentive and communicated throughout the process and I left a happier customer. He couldve presumed that I was unhappy and would never return but he took a chance to rectify the situation and see if he could turn the experience around. Ill definitely return because of Lincoln and his initiative to change my opinion and experience.Previous Review (1 star): I wouldnt recommend using their service department for an oil change. I am beyond frustrated with the way my appointment was handled today. I scheduled an oil change today at 2pm and arrived at 1:45pm. I was told to expect it to take roughly 90 minutes and I would be called if it got done sooner.I came back to the service department around 3:30pm and my advisor was in the middle of something else and I was told he would come get me when he returned. I waited for about 10-15 minutes and didnt see/hear anything so I went looking for my advisor. It was almost 3:50pm by this point and I finally see him walking in and he tells me itll be another 20 minutes. They hadnt even started the oil change on my vehicle. It was still sitting outside where it was parked over two hours prior.I work in the service industry, so I understand things happen but what I find unacceptable is the lack of communication. All that needed to be done was communicate that they were running behind or adequate attempt to take care of the situation, not tell me that itll be an extra 20 minutes because the job wasnt even started. Its highly unlikely that I ever return to Ocean Honda for my vehicle maintenance or future car purchase.

Disappointing experience with Ocean Burlingame, specifically their internet sales rep, Gene. We used the USAA car buying service (True car), which is supposed to give you price offers for specific vehicles. Gene told us a certain car was available from a nearby storage lot, and when we arrived, suddenly the car was not available. Instead, he tried to get us to buy a car from their on-lot inventory that was not the trim level we wanted. It was a classic bait and switch operation. We wasted a couple hours as they tried to find the car we wanted, during which they presented various offers for a car we did not want. We finally left, disgusted. If youre an internet car shopper, I would avoid this guy, and therefore, this dealership.

Its 1a and Im kinda sick to my stomach looking back what did I do earlier and purchase a car that I thought they gave me a great deal but really Im not. As a woman its true they took advantage and really rushed me to sign before I leave but I should shop more and compare rates with other dealers. I really want to cancel my contract besides I dont have the car yet. Suppose to pick it up tomorrow but I dont think this would work out for me. Its everything I want but the price is overrated. Im gonna get off work and go straight to the dealer to cancel my contract. Hope they work with me on that.

Contacted them through the internet for a new Clarity Plug in Hybrid, Gene Ouye the internet manager helped me out and gave me a decent price. He was very knowledgeable and straight forward with the pricing and financing options. Not a high pressure dealership for the most part, except when the financing guy is trying to sell you GAP coverage and extended warranty/service contract (which I declined all of), but I understand thats how he makes his commission.Would recommend as far as car dealerships go.

Unhelpful staff. I came into this dealership prepared to buy a Honda but was immediately turned off by a sales associate that did not know enough about the cars, was rude in responding to simple questions, and overall was unprofessional throughout the interaction. After telling me that the Honda Fit EX I was interested in test driving and purchasing was unavailable at the dealership I began to look into a different car, the Honda CRV. Before going to get the keys she raised her voice and was rude when my mom asked her simple questions about the car’s specs. She loudly gestured that she did not know the answer and she often pointed to the brief descriptions on the car window. At that point I wanted to leave but decided to stay to at least test-drive the cars I was interested in. After waiting a long while for her to bring out the keys she finally returned and asked I sign a sharing information document. She was unclear about the protocol of the dealership, at first telling me my information would only be shared if I bought a car and later saying it would be shared for test driving it. I read through the document because I did not trust that she had ever read through her own company’s policies. While reading she was pressuring me to sign saying that this was standard across all dealerships. (Untrue: I had gone to Nissan right before and that was not the case). As I kept reading she commented under her breathe, rudely, that this was “part of being an adult”. I came in to buy a reliable car, I was preapproved at my credit union, and I had done research to be a smart consumer. I am 30 years old and did not need an undertrained sales associate to make judgements about what she considered adulthood—which apparently for her was receiving spam emails from predatory lenders. I walked off and will never do business with Burlingame Honda or recommend anyone there. My husband and mother went in to make a complaint with the manager as I stormed away but from what I was told he was no better. He did not listen to their concerns instead he attempted to derail the conversation and at one point even interrupted my husband mid-sentence by shaking my husband’s hand and congratulating him for his “good eye contact”. Honestly it was a complete nightmare.
