Lady who was at the register to check out the vehicle was rude and was “too busy” to come out to the truck. After driving a block, I noticed the gas gauge was slightly less than 1/4 of a tank. Thank God I pulled over and took a picture, just in case. So, I checked my email and the checkout lady neglected to send me my receipt. So, I had to call haul and have them send me a copy of the receipt. When this happened, I noticed that it claimed the fuel gauge was at 1/2 tank. So, I let them know this on the 1-800 number. Then, when I returned the vehicle a different lady (who was nice) took the keys and I showed her a picture of the fuel gauge with mileage of the vehicle evident on the same picture. She took a picture of my picture and supposedly uploaded it to my bill. She told me not to worry. Then, I received a $60 added fuel charge on my bill even though I returned it with MORE fuel than was originally in the vehicle. Avoid this place at all costs if you can; it’s an extra hassle to have to deal with the dishonesty and rudeness of this place and then to try to call customer service/the bank/etc. to try and straighten things out and get billed the correct amount. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Ive been getting propane at the North Hollywood U-haul for 10 years and have been happy wih the friendly professional service until tonight. The store closes at 7pm and I unfortunatley arrived at 6:45 pm and ask to get a propane tank filled. One employee claimed the pump was broken while the employee at tht pump said the propane pump wasnt broke, but that they were closing. I was turned away without having my propane tank filled.

Another Uhaul location did not set me up properly for my tow, but even though this location did not have the proper tools, they had the manager come to help me and resolve all of the issues, absolutely going above and beyond. Throughout my whole experience, I felt that we were all part of a team and that is huge for a positive customer experience. Thank you TJ and team!

They messed up the electrical on my trailer hitch installation. One blinker didn’t work, the other blinker turned on the wrong one. I am at another uhaul store in San Gabriel right now getting it fixed. Put a serious dent in my day and could have really ruined my upcoming trip.

I was given excellent customer service from Taaven Jones. He treated me courteously, with the utmost respect and made me feel like a valued customer. He helped me out with some issues I was having on my cell phone with the mobile pickup making sure everything went smoothly. Its nice to get good service like that. Thank you!

Rude staff, doesnt return calls or emails. Charged an extra day on uhaul truck and every employee there said they could not refund because the manager had to. The manager ignored emails, and never called back. I went in 4 times because I also had a storage unit. EVERYTIME I went in there was no one inside and it took 15 to 20 minutes for someone to show up to get my key so I could access my storage unit and they gave attitude as if I was bothering them when they finally showed up. So. Basically avoid this location dont use their storage and dont rent uhaul trucks from them. They will charge you extra days and not refund them even after showing the turn in date and time because the manager is not in ever.

On Friday 2/5/21 I rented a 15’ moving truck from the U-Haul location in Sun Valley, CA. The experience was a slightly different with COVID-19 restrictions, but it was quick and easy to get the truck. I took it back to my old apartment I was moving out of so I could get moving first thing in the morning. When I was ready to move, I noticed someone had spray painted graffiti on the side of the truck overnight while parked. I was angry that someone had vandalized the truck, but I was glad I had purchased U-Hauls safe move protection (since it was sold as protection against damage to the vehicle) I used the truck for 30 miles and returned it less than 24 hours later. Upon returning the truck, I notified the attendant at the Sun Valley, CA location that someone had unfortunately spray painted on the truck. He looked concerned, but told me not to “worry about it, it wasn’t my fault.” I asked if there is anything else, I should be concerned with and asked how I would receive the final charges. He responded no and I will get my receipt by email.On Monday February 8th I received my email receipt with a “cleaning fee” of $150.00, to my surprise. I called the Sun Valley U-Haul to see what the fee was for, but they told me they had no idea and did not have notes, so they told me to call customer service. I called customer service and they said the same thing and that I would have to call the Sun Valley U-Haul. I called back again and said the call the manager who goes by “TJ” directly. I called twice and left a message. I called customer service once more to see what my options are since I am not getting any answers; at that point, they told me to file a customer action form. All these calls took about an hour out of my day and delayed my organization duties at home, the last thing I needed while moving was to deal with this.On Tuesday February 9th I received a call from TJ the manager, he told me the “cleaning fee” was for the graffiti. I was surprised since his attendant when I dropped off the truck told me “not to worry about it” and I assumed since I purchased “Safe Move Protection” from U-Haul I was covered. He proceeded to tell me I still owe the fee and that his weekend employee is not trained to take in trucks so he doesn’t know better and should of not said “don’t worry about it” and that the Safe Move Protection from U-Haul does not cover the graffiti. I told him I wasn’t angry about the money, but the fact that they weren’t transparent and it shouldn’t of took six calls, an hour of my time and a customer action form to get my answer , which then he became flustered and condescending. He told me I should of called him directly, which I did and he proceeded to say he did not get a call. (I have phone records showing I did) Then he said I should not make assumptions about U-Haul’s safe move protection product and that I was not covered against graffiti and that owe the fee.I read the contract and could not find anything saying I was not covered for vandalism.I write this to let you know the horrible experience I had with U-Haul, U-Haul’s Safe Move Protection and its employees. I have used U-Haul many times in the past, but this will be the last time. I hope that anyone reading this takes into account that they sell their “Safe Move Protection” with many promises, but it fails to deliver. I’m disappointed that the manager or U-Haul did not even try to remedy the situation especially when there were so many flaws in their operation. From the poorly trained and misinformed employee who checked in my truck and did not inform me of the fee or that “Safe Move” would not cover vandalism. To the customer service reps who had me waste my time on Monday calling so many different places and finally to the condescending manager who could not even attempt to rectify the situation. We have rented U hauls from this place many times. They usually just have 1 or 2 people working here at any time. It is better to reserve a truck over the phone so when you get there its already taken care of. The people who work here are very nice. This is one of the smaller U hauls. They have a very small parking lot and there is street parking.

I have always had great experiences with the guys at this location. Ive rented several times from them over the years, and theyve always made it a fast and easy interaction. Just recently rented a 20 truck for a 3 day back-and-forth move, and when I messed something up upon return, one of the employees helped me fix it right away so that I didnt incur an extra fee. Truly went above and beyond. Ill always recommend this location.

I was stuck in LA looking for a car transport and these guys came through like the MVP’s they are. Don’t waste your time w the other uhauls. This uhaul has honest, great, and so helpful people. They’re not trynna make a sell, they’re not trynna help the company. They wanna help people and make your life easier. The manager was there by himself on Thursday morning putting in work and he gave me his word he’d call me if that car transport came early and he didn’t that exact thing. It came 4 hours early and they saved my life. And the counter man helped with the trailer and was the coolest mf ever. Thank you guys for everything I’ll definitely come back to you guys anytime I’m in LA in search of a trailer.

I was very disappointed in the service level at this location. After filling out all the information online so I could speed the checkout at the facility, I go inside to pickup my rental. Im the only person there and it still takes them 30 minutes to complete the paper work, asking me the exact same questions that I had already answered online. For those that dont know, 10 or 15 minutes can mean a huge difference in traffic in Los Angeles. I knew because of the long checkout that I was going to hit more traffic and just wanted to get out as fast as possible.A week later, Im renting a car and when I pull out wallet to get my drivers license, theres no drivers license. Im somewhat frantic and I take Uber. I start thinking of the last places I used my license and it occurs to me it was this Uhaul dealership. I called them and after waiting for over 8 minutes, I get alive body to talk with. He says... oh yeah, we have drivers license. Im thinking to myself, these people had both my phone number and my email address, yet they made no attempt to contact me and tell me they forgot to give me my license back. To me, this is really a I dont give @#%$ attitude, and I hate dealing with companies that treat their customers with so little regard.

I wish I could give this place a good review, but I cant. I went with my vehicle because on the website it says at this location they do inspections to see if your vehicle is ready to pull a trailer. I asked the only staff member about it. I also asked about needing to get wiring for the trailer. He checked the vehicle to see if it had the wiring (which means he bent over the back to see if he saw any wires). He took me inside and showed me a few different wiring set ups they had. When I asked which one my vehicle needed he had no idea. I had spoken to my mechanic and he said depending upon whether your blinkers are red or yellows determines what kind of connection you need. When I asked this to the gentleman working he had no idea. He didnt even bother to look it up. He just sat behind the desk and did nothing. He never did the vehicle inspection. Train your staff. I felt as if I was speaking to someone who didnt even work there. I rated 2 starts instead of 1 because they had a clean store, lots of stock, and all the equipment I would have needed had the staff been helpful.

As far as Uhaul locations go this one is not terrible. Service was quick, not overly friendly, but professional. Showed up at 7am to pickup a trailer and pulled out at 7:15am. I had already prepped by vehicle so it was an easy process.

There is no place to park. The guy behind the counter was on his cell and messing with his hair and didnt even look up until I approached the counter. He did not offer me any package deals. He was the bare minimum of helpful. I have NEVER not had someone from u-haul offer to help carry stuff to my car until today and he was NOT busy!Not rude per se just not what I expect from u-haul customer service.

Too much to type for a f***** long story that made me stressed. All the anger is coming back to me everytime i remember my experience to this uhaul branch.

Really poor customer service, usually only 1 employee even on a busy weekend at peak times. They move at a snail’s pace & are generally not terribly friendly. Apparently they don’t agree with who was waiting next in line & discriminate against who gets helped next. NEVER getting business from me. I walked out.

Wish i can give less than a one star. This place wants to charge me $453 for a trailer. When it costs me only $50 to rent the same trailer in Oregon. These people are sick and are not for the customer, dont waste your time and money.

One of my employees had an unfortunate instance where the staff of UHAUL felt it was ok to hold his personal ID because they were unable to process our business check at the time due to there system being down. Then refusing to return his ID. Will not be using them in the future.

Bad service. They gave me the keys of a truck that didn’t match with the gas level. The paper said that the fuel tank was full and when I review the dashboard it has only half of the tank, besides the mileage had a difference of around 30 thousand miles.
