All of the 5 stars are from over a year ago. Things have changed....They NEVER answer the phone. there is only an answering machine that ask you to go online to their website. Then when you go online it states they are not available. WTH!! I have left two different messages stating I need to speak to Greg the owner, one online the other with an answering service over 7 days ago and not one person has called me back. I like most people do not have time for such poor customer service. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AT THIS PLACE.

I took singing and piano lessons at Brazos Arts last Fall. It was a great experience. My teacher Hannah was sooooo patient with me and helped me gain a lot of confidence. I never thought Id be able to read music, but now I can. Everybody there is friendly and the building is super cool. It has an excellent vibe.

I decided to start taking voice lessons here before summer so I could add something to my guitar playing after about 2-3 months of messing with it on my own. I was a little apprehensive about taking lessons mainly because when I was a kid I spent 10 years going straight out of the books for theory and music. Brazos Arts is much much different. They will teach you what YOU WANT TO LEARN! If you want to learn all the theory in the world theyll teach you that. If you want to know how to sing and play every song by John Mayer or Jimi Hendrix they will teach you that. I started at voice but eventually made the switch to learning more about guitar. Before I started guitar lessons all I could do was read tabs a little, I didnt even have the open string notes memorized. And when I started taking lessons I didnt even think I cared about the theory, my first guitar lessons were tabbing out some songs I love. But after taking lessons for just over the summer I knew all the scales, keys, chords, etc. Its really up to you what you want to learn. There were some weeks where Id come in after hearing a new song and Id tell my teacher (Danny) I wanted to tab out the song. So wed spend the lesson doing that then next week wed go back to more theory related guitar or singing or whatever I was feeling.Besides the music lessons, the people there are great. I didnt get a chance to meet everyone that taught but the people I did meet were extremely friendly and really care about music and their students. My teacher, Danny, especially was super encouraging about going to perform for people and working towards an open mic.So if youre looking for lessons check out Brazos Arts Music School! They are definitely what you want for whatever you want to learn!

We enrolled our 9 year-old daughter to take piano and voice lessons, which she took for a little over a year. One of our main reasons for enrolling her was to help her gain confidence within herself. Her confidence in herself was achieved; we truly enjoyed watching her confidence soar as lessons were taught. Steven, Dakri, and Grace (her instructors over the time she attended) are all wonderful people who love working with their clients.Communication, predominantly the direct phone system, needs improvement, but we were always given a call back when we tried communicating through the online portal. It seems this place communicates easier through the message link online instead of via direct phone calls, which was challenging at times. A full-time scheduling coordinator may help, and this is NOT something this place provides. We always spoke to one of the coaches, who were always college students; never once did we speak to an adult coordinator who sufficiently knew the business. In addition, the schedule changed from semester to semester, depending on the coaches class schedules. This place lacks organization.Thank you, Brazos Arts, for your time and efforts; we had a lot of fun!Edited 5/28/19: I lowered the stars given because we were told in the middle of the month (that we already paid for in advance, and a schedule was already in place) that the voice coach raised his fees, and in order to see him, we would have to pay the difference in cost. They offered to allow her to see a different voice coach (which is what we ended up doing) at the rate we already paid in advance. The fact they raised the fees in the middle of a month already paid for is, in my opinion, bad business. They should have raised the fees starting the next billing cycle; not in the middle of a month.Although our daughter had a lot of fun, we will not return to this place to continue lessons due to poor organization and poor business practices. We do greatly appreciate everyones time and efforts during the time she attended.
