Sad to say I had hopes for this shop. Placed a preorder for pokemon celebrations and stated I was more than happy to pay 33% mark up on all of the products. Time comes and I am invoiced for no less than a 75% mark up from MSRP on each item I preordered (the highest mark up was 120%). Not the worst, but still outlandish for a card game tagged for 6 year olds.Edit: No, I dont have the wrong store. I DO have the receipt you emailed me with prices, letter head, and address attached. Best hobby/game shop that Ive been to in Colorado. Very clean, friendly staff, and really inventory. Will be returning here to buy all of my GW merch from now on. And a great place to play games!

Total Escape is a great game store, they have a wonderful selection of a variety of different board and card games. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly while the store itself is clean and well organized. I always go there to purchase new materials for Dungeons and Dragons!

They have a wide selection of games that are fairly priced and could most likely find a way to get the game for you if its not in stock.Pretty limited selection on role playing dice today but overheard the staff saying theyd be getting a ton more in soon.

All in all a very nice store, the staff is very helpful and friendly. This is a nice neighborhood store - my son and I will be visiting it much and many more times!

They have a good selection and lots of table space. Really clean. Theres one guy though there that always convinces us to buy more magic cards than we need/want and it sucks bc he is really good at it.

Awesome local gaming shop! Unfortunately closed for in-person gaming during COVID-19, but they had a large variety of games and role playing books to choose from. They also had a sale table, so we snagged a few games from there! Also got King of Tokyo Dark Edition!

Went in to find some 2 player board games and the staff was super helpful and had tons of experience with games, their playability over time, difficulty and even scaling to add more players. The prices were very fair, I would highly recommend visiting!

Total Escape has more play space than just about anyone, so its a very reliable place to play prereleases for Magic the Gathering. Even smaller/less popular sets like Battlebond (2018) had 9 paired teams (18 players) while other stores were cancelling their events.Whenever I play with friends from Boulder we meet in the middle at Total Escape.They also have lots of board games, and a few always open for playtesting. Ive found some great board games here!!For a great meal before an event at TES I recommend Pho Duly which is in the shopping center diagonally across from the store.

Amazing place for miniatures and paints

The staff here is fantastic. The selection of games isnt just limited to Magic cards or Warhammer. They have a fantastic board game selection and a great Dungeons and Dragons/TTRPG spread as well! If youre looking for something, they will help you find it, and if they dont have it, theyre willing to order it if they can! Highly recommend coming here.

I never really felt welcome here. Clerk seemed disinterested in helping me. Ive been nothing but polite when coming here and it always seems like he has an attitude. Gwyn on the hand has been great with her customer service!

Great selection of games and very inviting atmosphere. Girlfriend and I stopped in on a Wednesday night to join a game of DnD and had a lot of fun. Wish there was a few more people in our pickup group but Im sure that changes for week to week.

This place is ok, I really only shop here when I need a specific Warhammer kit I cant find elsewhere but its hard to justify spending the extra $20 on a kit, especially when they dont offer refunds if I end up changing my mind on a product. Most of the staff are great and very friendly.

Came in for the first time and was very impressed. Place was clean, well organized and of course well stocked. Everyone in there including patrons were nice. I dont remember the name of the last that helped us but she was kind, knowledgeable, and answered all our questions as best she could. We ended up buying the games Disneys villianous, portion explosion and firefly adventures. All have been great, i highly recommend this store.

So I went on hunt for D and D characters that I could buy for cheap and try out GW new contrast paints that just came out. I drove all over Denver to for different game stores. These guys had a good, clean, good selection of miniature games. Cleanly store, in a great location with plenty of food options. Parking can be a little tricky do to small strip mall size. I had a great time and met some great guys, definitely a great go to place to check out board games!!!

Great game shop with a very respectable inventory for its size. They have a smaller board game section, but decent inventory for the core nerd games like Magic or miniature games. The place is always busy during the week. They also do a good job of letting you know release dates, especially for anything ambiguous like FFG games.The game area is smaller, but large enough to have X-Wing or Armada tournaments.

Great local gaming store. The various staff members Ive interacted with so far (in person and over the phone) have been simultaneously nice, helpful and knowledgeable.Their offerings are pretty standard (table top games, war minis, paints, board games, snacks on tab). They have plenty of gaming tables and the activity seemed hopping. Its an active store with an active community.Slightly small. There are a few larger shops, but nothing in this local neighborhood.There is currently some construction right now near their store front, but egress and parking arent too affected.Safe to say, this is my new local spot after a move across town. :D

My wife and I loved our trip here! As new board gamers, we were looking for something different and the staff was very helpful in showcasing each game style they had, areas that had games wed be most inclined to, and pointed out a few we could try.Overall, we loved finding our this far favorite have here and when the need comes, well go back.One thought, board and card games are full priced, they dont offer discounts like some others do.

Great store and nice people. Not a huge selection of board games but I can tell they have curated their selection wisely. Similarly they do carry a limited selection of miniatures, paints, and RPG books.A necessity I expect because roughly half the stores space is tables. Those split between miniature gaming tables (raised with ... carpet? ... instead of smooth surfaces) and then folding tables well suited to card games. Also, there is a small room thats pretty obviously for RPGs walled off from the rest of the store; would probably accommodate 8 people max I think.There are two restrooms that are consistently clean anytime Ive used them.

Great neighborhood game shop. Ive only patronized them for board games, but it seems like their RPG and miniatures selection is top notch. Every time Ive been in, there have been plenty of folks playing in the shop and the staff had been helpful and friendly. The board game selection isnt the biggest, but they have a good mix of the must-haves and new and interesting games. Highly recommend!

The store is well stocked and clean. The tables in the back are great for gaming. The staff unfortunately can be a little snarky and not interested in serving the customers. I stood at the counter with a purchase for nearly 10 minutes while the clerk chatted and joked with someone else. I finally left without making my purchase. A little training in customer service would be helpful.

Really cool store with a lot of different board games, minis, paint supplies and playing areas. They were running a charity gaming day which looked like a lot of fun and a great thing for the Make a Wish Foundation. Really helpful and friendly staff!

Excellent selection of board games and magic cards. Staff is very knowledgeable and willing to help out if you have questions. One time they didnt have what I was looking for so they directed me to a different store entirely to try to find what I needed.

I bought a Blister there a few weeks ago. I get home and it is missing over half of the pieces. I bring it back and the employee says he will delete my transaction so it will never happen. A few days later I am charged for the transaction. I call them and tell them what is going on. I was told that they will look into it but it is not showing up in their system. I give them my contact info so they can call me back. A few days pass, I call them back and talk to someone that says they dont know anything about it and they will tell the person in charge. A week later I still have not heard anything so I call my bank to dispute. Since I was not given anything for this Deleted Transaction my claim is denied. So this company stole about $30. It is a shame I used to be a customer, now I will no longer be shopping there and telling my friends that they should no longer shop there either.

Never a bad experience. The staff is friendly and helpful. I have asked for advice on new games and gotten honest answers, even if that would mean them not making a sale. They make efforts to keep more toxic players away and are more inclusive than any other shop I have gamed at. I live on the other side of town with a shop less than 5 minutes away, and will always choose TEG over them, hands down.

Qualifiers, you better like strategy board and card games. Also, it can get a bit stinky Friday nights with all the males who forgot to take showers playing ours of role-playing. That said, great owners and people there. Does what they say, escapism if you do that through role and strategy games.

This place is a true nerd mecca. All the tables in the place are free as long as they arent reserved and they have a huge selection of games that are free to play. They have a large selection of current games, miniatures, paints, booster packs, dice and snacks to tempt you with. The staff are some of the most knowledgeable people in the gaming industry and very friendly.

TEG is the best game store in the Denver metro area. They are community focused and dedicated to a safe, welcoming, respectful environment. I trust having my young daughters in the store and always love interacting with employees and regulars alike.

Very impressed! This store is clean, well kept, and uncluttered. I enjoy coming here because I know I will always find what I need, as they are always well stocked. Prices are average, so I cant complain, and its nice to be able to support a local business. I will definitely be coming here for all of my gaming needs!

Waiting over a year for a special order, nothing, no contact, no email, no call. Still waiting. Maybe Ill get it before next edition comes out. Or maybe I be able to sell it on Ebay as an ancient collectable by the time it arrives.Poor selection. Poor customer service.Any money spent on gas to go to any other store would be a wise investment.

I wanted to give two stars but this place does have a really nice gaming area, a lot of good merchandise, its just the treatment by the staff I didnt appreciate. When youre new to something, like Magic, you have questions. I dont know what groups cater to what level of play, so I ask. I felt as if my questions were stupid and annoying to the guy behind the counter and when he was done answering my questions, with very little elaboration I have to say, I felt almost pushed out the door. I was very, very disappointed because I was looking forward to being involved in having some fun here. I was obviously upset enough to write this review. My experience bothered me that much. I will find somewhere else to play, where I actually feel welcome.

Clean, close, their dice were cheaper than eBay.... ample gaming space. I came in early and the cashier was sleepy.. but cool and friendly :)

They have a nice selection of games and items. Over the past year they have messed up our reservations many times. Either removing it or giving us a smaller area than requested, including giving our spot to a different group without informing us.

By far the best store for board game and DND nights in the area. Overall friendly and knowledgeable staff will welcome you to the store, and will answer any questions you have. They have card game night, along with other events depending on the week day.

This store is really close to my house. They have great gaming space. (I especially like the fishbowl room.) The people are really friendly. I have always received good service.

My wife and I LOVE board games. We have recently gotten into playing board games within the last 12-18 months and basically cant get enough of them with our friends.That being said, we get tired of playing the same ones. I was driving home one day and saw this place so I thought I would stop by for a few minutes.The place was bustling and when I walked in, I was greeted by one of the workers and immediately given all of the time and attention I wanted (despite seeing that he left a game that he was playing with others to service me).He knew a lot about games and the different types and was extremely helpful.We have since returned multiple times and will continue to buy games from here.

A lot of local game stores have terrible customer service. This one is no different. I have played Magic the Gathering here two times and tried to play multiple other times (not enough people showed up). I have not returned in a few months and do not plan to return in the future. All three times I was not greated when I reached the counter to pay for my entry fee. Instead, I was treated like I was an inconvenience instead of a customer. The events all ran late. When I asked for common singles cards, the staff simply stated they did not have any, without looking, and continued to have their conversation behind the counter. Do not come here unless you want poor customer service and poorly run events.

I wont be going there again! The customer service needs lots of improvement! I will definitely be taking my business elsewhere! 🙄

I was not at all impressed with this store. Upon entry, it smelled like a hundred sweaty teens. The selection is poor. The front display cabinets are falling apart. The staff were beyond rude. Im still angry at how we were treated. My g/f and I felt like the owners dog got more respect than we did. I will not be returning, and will warn my friends to stay away as well.Take note: this level of poor customer service is why retail stores are failing against the likes of Amazon. Maybe Total Escape Games should take that into account with potential new customers.

You really hit the mother load with this store!It’s one of those kinds of places you hope to find in the afterlife, for it also caters to adult historians!Because this is the regular spot of the Colorado military historians club, I think this place is special.

This place is awesome! They retail board gaming and miniature painting needs, but in my opinion they really shine with their community and gaming space. Definitely a cool hobby shop worth stopping by if you are interested in board games, DND, warhammer, etc.
