This place is a hidden gem!! I had the pleasure of the owner tapering a couple of my old piercings that I thought were closed up. He was very informative on aftercare and what the difference of tapering and repiercing was and even about the jewelry!! He was super gentle and told me what he was doing step by step. He listened to what I wanted and what I didn’t want and helped me decide on what he thought would look best on me. Definitely a happy customer!

Everyone at this shop is so nice! I was just in on Saturday to get my septum pierced and Ray Ray was great! He answered all my questions and made it feel safe, dawg did my first tattoo and did amazing, and Brian the owner is so nice and sweet. Everyone was really great to talk to and they do amazing work!! 100% recommend

Im so glad I happened to stop by and inquire about piercings. My daughter got her septum pierced, I got my industrial, my sister in law got a double nose, and my friend got her eyebrow pierced. Ray Ray was amazing! He was very thorough with the aftercare instructions and even explained that some of our other piercings my just need to be tapered instead of pierced. My sister in a law was able to get her tongue and lip tapered so she didnt have to get them pierced again. I will definitely be going back after I get done breastfeeding to see if I can get my nipples tapered. The tattoo artist there does amazing work and gave me a great price for some of the stuff I want done. I dont think Ill go anywhere else!

My son wanted a septum piercing and we just happened to inquire here. I’m so glad we did! Not only was the piercer amazing in talking about the procedure and after care, he talked him through the whole thing while being so friendly and kind. Hot box is the best in Hillsborough county I have used there services since I was 18 yrs old that was in 2002 I still use hot box bc there service is excellent the people that work there are very knowledgeable about there jobs weather it be tattoos piercings or just the products of there head shop amazing place wont go no where else

Im just going to start out by saying that Ive gotten my last three piercings from here. Mike who did my nose piercing and Caitlin who re-pierced my earlobes were amazing. I didnt feel a thing, I even had to ask when it was done thats how much I didnt feel it.The current piercing guy has no idea what hes doing. I wanted a second hole on my earlobe and not only did it hurt but the placement is wrong, its too low. A month later and its infected. I call to ask about it and they were just unprofessional and treated me like it was my fault and proceeded to act like it was a joke. Please be warned to NOT go here for a piercing. They will ruin your skin forever.

Last Night, I along with my mother and sisters got piercing... Three nose piercings (Mom, God sister and I) my baby sister got a fancy lil belly piercing... Services provided by Katlyn were beyond my expectations... Shes very professional, knowledgeable and provided great customer service. Cleanliness was superb. Aftercare instructions were clear. She helped us remain calm and reassured us that the process was going to be a breeze... I cracked several jokes and she has sense of humor also... I would recommend anyone to go here for piercing... ❤️❤️

Never get a belly piercing here because I guarantee you your piercing will get infected and your skin will start to grow over. In the stuff you’re supposed to clean with the dial soap doesn’t work at all. I really recommend not getting a piercing here because it’s just going to get infected.

Great experience! My sisters and I wanted sibling tattoos. We each got a roman numerial and my youngest sister got a navel piercing in addition to her tattoo. The prices were very fair. Joe, Rick and Mike were all friendly and very knowledgeable and extremely patient. They offered recommendations when we asked and we felt like they were giving genuine advice. They were even honest about the level of pain we would feel. I highly recommend them again. PS- Pay cash and tip the artist! Theyre worth it!

Me and my family went and got our nose pierced last night and kaitlyn did a very good job she talks you through it and let’s you know what to expect and makes sure she does everything good the first time quick and easy!!

Went to go get my tragus done here, and he was not very experience took him about 5 minutes or more to get the ball on the earring. caused way more trauma than needed to my ear. they also make you pay and tip before the service??? never again

Took my son to get his ears pierced and the gentleman who did them was amazing! As someone who has been on both ends of the needle, I was very pleased with my sons experience! I didn’t catch the piercers name but he was very personable and even though my son was nervous I could tell he was comfortable! I would highly recommend! Went for an anniversary gift for my hubby. The guys who run the shop are funny, light hearted, and very talented! Core was my specialist. She was very thoughtful, thorough, and kind. Great convo with her that made my experience very easy going.

The pricing was great compared to other shops in the area and my piercer did a great job, it was quick and painless but the service wasn’t too great, everyone was hostile/rude. I waited forever at the front counter and was ignored.

I called to ask about a specific piece of jewelry, was told that they do have it. Their hours online show they close at 9, I show up about 8:30, theyre closed. The online hours are not updated. So I decide okay, Ill come tomorrow. I come, out of my way, for the second time, the very next day, and am told they do not carry it. Not sure what the problem is, but that was a very unnecessary waste of my time on two different occasions. Im sure the artists are great, and I hate to leave a 1 star review, but this was a colossal waste of my time and thats very frustrating.

Came to this shop in a jiffy after having awful service at Atomic in Brandon. Fast, friendly service, and professional work. We were only in for 15-20 minutes for a horizontal eyebrow piercing. It looks great!I can say for sure this will be my go-to shop for my piercing needs from now on!

Got my nose pierced with Mike today. He did such a great job, he made me feel comfortable and relaxed. He was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. Everything was super clean, everything came from sterile packaging and he changed his gloves a billion times to grab different equipment. (I’ve had my nose pierced before, we thought we might get it through with no needle. Stubborn nose!) The best price and the best service I’ve ever received for a piercing. They have quality jewelry and unparalleled talent. I could not recommend a better shop!

My son got his first piercing yesterday 4/14/19. Mike was so fantastic about it, very observant, knew my son was feeling a bit queasy and laid him down quick, got him water, gave him some fruit. He is personable, professional, super sterile, explained what he was doing, let about 5 of us in the room to watch. I also got my tragus done right after and I told him that he is amazing, I heard it more than felt it. 15 out of 5 stars. I will be going back for future piercings and ink. An awesome place with a great eclectic display of various masks and art work. Mike, a piercer at the shop, is very professional and knowledgeable. He is willing to work with you for as long as you need to assure you get exactly what you want with as little discomfort as possible.

Cant begin to describe my experience with Mel, shes pretty amazing. I got the most detailed tattoo anyone can ask for. I recommend her to everyone and get constant compliments on all my work. I will go to no one else. The shop is always clean and friendly with great displays of artwork. One of the coolest tattoo places Ive ever been in to.

They may do good work, didnt care to spend the overpriced $ to find out.wanted a very simple tat that in my opinion (based on previous tats) should have been a buck fifty to maybe 175 and taken 1.5 hrs tops to do and was quoted 275/300 and 3 hrs in the chair. Nice shop but will look elsewhere.Appears to be more of a piercing shop to me

I went 2 weeks ago to see Mike about getting a more personal piercing done. He was great from start to finish. He was professional and made me very comfortable.

I came to get a piercing re pierced for a third time (two OTHER piercing shops pierced me incorrectly) and I made my concerns clear to Mike, he was extremely understanding and explained step by step exactly how he would place it to correct it, how he would perform the piercing, and even explained what went wrong the two other times with the other shops. Piercing was fast, super comfortable, and perfectly sterile. He also fitted me with the correct size jewelry for another piercing. After the piercing process he made sure that I knew the proper way to clean and care for it. 10/10, great experience, sterile, almost painless (even though there was a LOT of scar tissue to get through) I have 23 piercings done by various shops and this is the most comfortable experience I’ve had so far.

Go see Joe at Hot Box Tattoos. I had an ugly tattoo on my right quad and no artist would touch it to do a cover up. I went to Joe and he immediately saw opportunity where others didnt. Joe then proceeded to do the absolute best tattoo I have ever had and it is a cover up!! Joe was very professional and walked me through his process, step by step. He made me feel at ease and did everything possible to make me comfortable during the procedure. I absolutely love my new ink and Joe has a customer for life!!!

Went to Hotbox and had a half sleeve done and a fix up by Mel. She was great. Very professional, friendly and helped me make what I wanted better. The other people that worked there were cool too. The customer service there isnt some Ive seen at any tattoo place really so it stood out for me. Great service, great work, great people.

Ive had a few tattoos so far done by Mel at Hot Box, including one thats a half sleeve. It is an incredible one-of-a-kind piece, and I get compliments on it constantly. Mel is an amazing artist who is very conscious of what her customers want. She is also extremely personable, yet professional. Her prices are very reasonable, especially for her talent. I already have many more tattoos in mind for her to complete for me. I would recommend Mel to anyone who wants a wonderful tattoo they can be proud of.

I moved to Florida and was totally lost on how to find a new good tattoo artist. I saw Mels work on Facebook and I new I wouldnt accept any other artist but her. Won a contest via Mels Facebook page and I was so excited because I had been wanting some work done by her for a long time. She was wonderful and worked with me financially and artistically every step of the way. I had something in mind that I knew she would do awesome at, but the end result was way better than I could have ever imagined. I have another tattoo done by someone else that took forever to heal, but the one Mel did was good to go in about 2 weeks or less. She far exceeded my expectations (which were pretty high in the first place). Since then, Ive recommended a few people to go check her out, and theyve been thrilled too.

Mel did an amazing job with not only my new tattoo of my granddaughters name but also with touching up and adding to an old tattoo. She had tremendous patience with all my request to make changes along the way before the appointment. Cant wait to go back for my next one

Mike is literally the best piercer, so down to earth and saved my super swollen and infected ear! He explains everything and really makes sure to keep you in the loop about everything he’s doing. And it helps that he’s funny

I took a drawing into hot box. No color just an outline. Met with my artist Mel n went over everything. The drawing was to big for my arm so she resized it. I was afraid it would be to small. Size was actually perfect. Then this lady did her thing and DAMN! This simple little drawing she turned into the sickest tat! She added her flair to it and it came out crazy awesome! Clean lines. Deep perfectly placed shading. Crazy good color blends. All around perfection. Shes expensive, but if you want and demand a great looking tat, she is worth every damn penny. Professional, clean and listens to your input. Damn fine job Mel! The shop is nice n clean too.
