The torque converter clutches went on my 2013 Taurus with only 90,000 easy miles on it 6 months ago. They rebuilt the transmission right in their shop. So far it’s working fine now. I’m very pleased!

I had my vehicle towed there in June. It wouldnt come out of 1st gear. The 1st week of October, the owner told my husband that the car was now changing gears but there was no overdrive. They had my car 4 months, so I chose to pick it up. When we got to the shop, they were charging the battery, which was odd if they had been working on it... But ok. When we left their shop, it became obvious that... MY CAR WAS STILL STUCK IN 1ST GEAR. For the love of all things good, dont use this shop. You get hung up on, youre told theyll call you back and they dont. Horrible.

These guys and gal were great. A true family business. I had a transmission rebuilt many years ago by Tim and its still going strong. Never realized that they would disassemble the transmission right down to the case and even run it through a dishwasher type machine that makes the case come out like new. Ive had my truck longer than Ive known most people here in Florida so yes I took pictures of the whole process.So when this 2nd truck needed some transmission work it was a no brainer where Id be taking it. This truck needed a lot of unexpected work, but I have to say, I am very grateful and confident that I wont find myself broke down on the side of the road, because it was done right. They are dog friendly too, I try to make sure I bring my Abby by to say Hi, shes always welcome.

Hands down, this has to be the best auto repair shop in town. If youre looking for knowledgeable expertise, with a fast turn around, look no further because Tim and his staff have you covered. I know this because Tim has rebuilt two transmissions for me. One transmission was for my 1972 Chevrolet and the other for a 2006 Ford. They both shift better than ever! I am so grateful to Tim Gavin and his staff for the attention they took in the rebuilding of my trucks transmission. I bought my 94 GMC Sierra Z-71 Ext. Cab from Brandons James Rivard (Pontiac) GMC new in 1994 and try to take very good care of it as I plan to keep it for many more years. With Elites help and diligence, while having the transmission out, they performed a safety inspection and found several issues in need of repair. It made sense to do so while there (shocks, brakes, and torn axle boot) and the price, warranty and time-frame were competitively priced. so I approved the additional work. Im glad I did as It now drives and handles like new again!Even my being an automotive professional, selecting an auto service company can be full of stress and uncertainty. I can state that Im glad I took it to Elite. Ill be taking in my Jeep for some maintenance work next! They live up to their name!

Monday, I dropped my car to Elite Transmission they were very friendly and helpful. I was told that i was low on transmission fluid and they did a flush and my car was up and running again without having to replace the transmission. I had taken my car to another transmission place and they wanted to charge over $5000 to replace the transmission when it didnt need replacing. So happy I decided to get a second opinion. I first met Tim a phew years back when I blew up the transmission on my King Ranch. Tims guys replaced my transmission at a fair price. Since then I have called him and been back for tires and other varied services. His mechanics are very competent, professional and courteous. This in my years of experience is a direct reflection of ownership/management. Even today, when I got home I noticed a nail in my tire. I called Tim and he brought me in for a tire patch. Not a plug, but a patch. He does things right. I would recommend Elite Transmission & Auto without reservation. A fine place to do business in a world of unscrupulous auto mechanics. It is Tims honesty, competency and service that makes him stand out!

Great place gets it done right

Besides the fact that my car was ready and instead of receiving a call, I had to call them and find an uber 45 minutes before close. And they also didnt add new transmission fluid to my car after the repair smh. But now, a month later, the same axle seal that i had repaired is now broken again... Dont waste your time nor your money here!

Brought my car in because the transmission was bucking. I was given a quote after they inspected it and was told that the transmission was bad and needed a complete rebuild. The work was completed when they said it would be and for the price that was quoted. We have had the car back for about a month and everything seems to be working well. The only thing I was not happy with was that when we picked the car up, it was dirty. I understand that the outside not being washed, although you would expect the car to be returned clean after spending over $2000. What I was really unhappy about was that there were grease stains on the arm rest, steering wheel and center console. That should have been wiped off before it was returned to me. As for the quality of the work, I will have to wait and see. The original transmission lasted almost 150,000 miles, so if this does the same, Ill be happy.

Our truck would not move on a job anymore, so I called a few transmission repair places in the Brandon Florida area. Elite Transmissions offered to send a tow truck out right away at no charge to get our truck, and my 2 employees. We wanted a totally rebuilt transmission, because we pull a lot of weight. Their price was more then competitive, so we decided to let them do the work. I remember asking them how the towing company got to us so fast, and I found out that they owned a Towing Company here in Brandon, as well as a Transmission Shop.

NEVER HAD ONE ISSUE HERE! LOVE THIS PLACE!

Let me start by saying I’m very skeptical about going to a place I don’t know anything about, but my original mechanic who has worked on all my cars is an hour and half away from me. And sometimes I don’t have the time to drive that far. So I needed to find somewhere close and that wasn’t going to blow smoke out their rearend especially when all I needed was an oil change at the time. It’s been two years now since I’ve been coming here and I have no complaints. They are super friendly and have fixed everything that needed to be fixed when needed fixed nothing extra. Everything is done at a fair deal.

Went there as a referral, so I wasnt sure how it would end. I was very pleased with the entire process. Work was done in a timely manner, and it was done right. Pricing was very fair. While I hope I dont need their services again, I would highly recommend them. Its good to know that there are still good, honest, hard-working people in this world.

What a joke the owner even called my daughters boyfriend and asked him why his wife left a 1 star review well she didnt I did I had watched the truck go in for a fix .the truck sat in the yard at the shop for 3 weeks and didnt move an inch.the next day after i left the review the truck was worked on but it wasnt fixed had to drive it to a different shop because it was still doing the same thing .I dont have to use your services to know the kind of work you do have you ever heard of word of mouth ? I also know another person that used your services and had to take it elsewhere also so no I dont recommend you to anyone.

I don’t recommend Elite Transmission. I visited them based on Google ratings for a routine transmission service. I was treated like I was an inconvenience to them on all 4 visits (drop off and pickup) for the service I received. I did ask if they had any military discounts so maybe that upset them.Within 2 days of the service, my car started leaking fluid in my driveway. It appeared to be transmission fluid and I suspected the transmission pan bolts were loose so I scheduled my car back to this shop. I was disappointed that rather than make my car a priority, they had to keep it an entire day to look at it.They blamed the leak on loose transmission pan bolts and a CV joint boot tear.The 2nd visit stopped the leak so why blame a CV joint boot tear? Due to lack of respect and courtesy, I won’t return.

Its been an entire year since my transmission was rebuilt and the fluid is still clear and pink. I was hesitant at first to go to a shop, especially with a performance vehicle, but it was well worth it. The mechanics there are friendly and helpful; the owner even threw in a transmission cooler.

Terrible! Just terrible!!!! And I almost never write a review, but they are so exceptionally deserving of a bad review. This place, it’s owner, and his godawful wife (desperate flirting machine) who works there are beyond unpleasant and unprofessional! Good luck if you go there. You’re going to need it!

Had my clutch and slave cylinder replaced. They did the job quickly which I am thankful but upon picking up my vehicle I notice that there is no resistance in the clutch pedal. Two mechanics came out and told me this is normal. They kept emphasizing that I have NEW Luk parts. Afterwards I took over to my brothers house and he was a mechanic for years in the Army and he immediately told me that there is air in the lines. 1600$ and they didn’t properly bleed the hydraulic lines. The clutch literally only disengages once the pedal is pressed to the floor and completely Engages 2” from the floor. I am not satisfied.

Nothing but a positive experience. Friendly service, great results, and I believe among the most honest shop around. I hope i never need their services again, but if i do Ill know Ill get what I paid for and then some. Dont bother shoppin around...if you need transmission work, just take it here, no BS, no gimmicks or stuff like that, just good mechanics. The shop is Hard to spot from the street though.

They had my truck for a month. Just got it back from them. Drove it a few miles down the road and the transmission light came on, truck is still hard shifting. They told me it was a computer issue. So we got a new computer. Obvisouly wasnt the problem. So a month and a few 100 dollars later for the part. Also when he quoted the part they said 450$ we said we could go get the part ourselves. Went to napa and got it. It ended up being 360 and that was with the extra 60 dollars in shipping, napa also said it was originally ordered by elite transmission. The guy said he wouldnt charge us the labor beciase they had it so long. Seems to me they wanted to charge us labor under the part, and make it look like they were not really going to charge us. I do not reccomend this place at all. What a waste of time and money. When I called and told them the problem wasnt fixed. They said they didnt know what to tell me EDIT IN RESPONSE TO OWNER RESPONSE. You didnt spend countless hours fixing my vehicle every time I drive by it was in the back lot. After you had it for two weeks I went in and asked what the status was you said you where really busy and kept putting the mechanic on other vehicles. You didnt charge me for the part in labor for the relay because you couldnt. My transmission was under warranty. So you did get paid for that. How about a little honesty.

This place earned my loyalty.If youd like to read more, heres what Ive learned about transmission repair and the crew at Elite Transmission.I am stationed at MacDill AFB, live in Brandon, and have a sentimental old 78 F150 that reminds me of my late dad. A few places wouldnt even look at the transmission due to the age. One place looked at me - not my truck - and decisively quoted me $1,700 for repair. I love my truck, but I dont NEED to drive it. So I looked around and took my time to find a quality place.Everyone at Elite Transmission is friendly and helpful. They took a look at the truck for free and gave an honest assessment with a fair price (lower than competition). Owner Tim Gavin, and his wife Carrie, are awesome - and they both know what theyre talking about. The shop is relatively new but Tims been working on transmissions for years.Their mechanics Aaron McCranor and Joe Pelligreno are both friendly and professional. BOY they put up with a lot of my questions and persistence. They care about the quality of their work and are thorough. I usually worry mechanics may take short cuts or be a little sloppy, which always ends up with mechanical issues later down the road. Not these guys - they even showed me where my truck was missing a few bolts/nuts here or there, and found spare parts for me. I trust my truck in their hands.If you ever wonder HOW to choose a work shop other than comparing prices - find a good transmission master technician. Don McClendon Sr. is THE master tech at Elite. Again, another man who put up with me. Don only repairs/rebuilds transmissions. He completely disassembles them, cleans every part, and rebuilds by hand. Dons known as a specialist but I called him a doctor. Hes too humble to entertain the nickname, but the man knows his stuff and hes meticulous. If you dont already love Elite, you should love Dons work.The only person at Elite that I didnt get to know a little, or at least pester with questions is Mike Parker. From what I learned, hes equally as good as the rest of the crew and cares about his work. I didnt get to see it first hand, but Id let him work on my truck.One part of an automatic transmission thats not torn down is the torque converter. You buy them new - which is really rebuilt/prefabricated, and install with the rebuilt transmission. The new torque converter for my truck was faulty - its unfortunate and frustrating, but happens. Elite purchased another new torque converter, repeated the entire job the next day, and kept their word on their original quote. It doesnt get more honest and hard working than that.Until recently I didnt know anyone on this crew. Im not getting paid for the review or benefit in any way. It was nice to finally find a place that reminds me of my small hometown, and I sincerely appreciate their help and courtesy. Theyre polite and direct - I hope you appreciate those qualities as much as I do. Theyre not going to sell you on why theyre best - theyll just make you an honest offer.
