I have been going to Loco since the day they opened! I am still so obsessed with them, their coffee, and of course their cute & trendy clothing! Such a good experience and vibe inside their coffee shop in such a historic place! They always have a wide range of clothing and shoes available with sales often! Their food is perfect for when you’re on the go and their coffee is to die for! My favorite is a sugar free mocha latte hot! Their hot chocolate is always delicious too when you’re looking for something non caffeinated or for the kiddos! Would recommend to anyone!!!

Loco Espress is the best hometown coffee shop in the area with great serviceandamazingstaff. Its a great place to catch up on online business or visit with friends and family over coffee and a snack.

Stopped in on my way back to Minneapolis with my girlfriend after seeing the 4.9 star rating. As I first approached the door, I noticed the sign about masks/COVID (see attached photo). I took a photo because I’ve never seen a sign like it anywhere else I’ve been since COVID, both in and out of Minnesota. It seemed like a lot of mixed messaging and a good way to say “masks are optional here”. I’m not sure how the 4th amendment comes into play here either, but I’m not a constitutional lawyer.Anyway, as I entered the shop I noticed that not a single patron in the store had a mask on (not counting employees) - and there was only a single open table in the shop. Additionally, none of the tables were closed off to patrons to ensure they meet the 6’ distance rule. Because of the lack of masks and COVID preparations I felt uncomfortable. The unmasked guests also stared over at my girlfriend and I as if we were crazy for wearing masks while we ordered and waited for our drinks. The family of 3-4 who walked in after us also wore masks, and also received a number of stares.I got a dark roast coffee with cream and did not end up finishing it on the 2+ hour drive back. It tasted watered down and was just not great in general. Definitely not 4.9 star worthy. My girlfriend’s vanilla latte was satisfactory for her and she mentioned it was stronger than the same order at other places, a plus.The decor of the store was nice and I can see how it’s a nice place to spend time with others or get some work done. I also liked the gift shop off to the far end of the store - lots of Minnesotan items for sale.I’m giving this place a 2-star because of the “meh” coffee and lack of COVID safety measures enacted by seemingly all other restaurants/dining establishments.

I came here with my husband who grew up in Brainerd. They’ve done an amazing job designing this coffee shop in an old train station. The coffee was perfectly made and the staff was so friendly. The atmosphere was so warm and inviting. We will definitely be back!

I had a French press of their dark roast and a medium trolley and both were great! It was pretty busy on a Wednesday morning but the service was fast. Great music in here too.

Great place. We bought a French press full of coffee and a london fog tea. It was all delicious. Highly recommend for a quality coffee or tea.

Beautiful place, friendly staff, but $8.31 plus for a Chia tea with oat milk, that’s crazy. Don’t get me wrong it was delicious but that profit ratio is greedy in my opinion. Also no vegan options on pastries or food.

Best coffee shop in Brainerd! The staff is always friendly and the store is always clean, but the best part is the variety of drinks they serve! My favorite is the boneyard with raspberry and whipped cream.

Very adorable little spot but not very efficient. The menu is very hard to read and there is only one bathroom. where this might be ok on a slow day, when I was there it was busy and taking turns was not convenient at all

Best cold brew I’ve ever had. A warm and inviting atmosphere to hang out. Loco Espress is the perfect place to meet up with friends and grab a coffee or do some shopping. The boutique has beautiful clothing, cute shoes, Black Rifle Coffee products and many more items. I can’t wait to visit again and try a new coffee drink.

I love everything about this coffee shop..... except one small thing. (definitely not something to detract from the overall 5 star rating.) But there is one thing, a booth to be exact, (the second one from the door to be more exact) that rocks back and forth. One may say, how could this possibly be that much of a problem? And while that might be a valid remark, I retort by saying the social stress of accidently leaning to far in your booth and smashing into the chair of the person behind you is that of terrorism. As far as drink selection, atmosphere, and that stuff it is unmatched. But as for the criteria of booths that are second from the door and dont rock 2/10.

I love coming in here to grab a quick coffee to go or to sit down and play a deck of cards with loved ones of mine. I awalys feel very welcome and pretty much everyone knows me by name due to my overzealous love for coffee. I dont really have any complaints about the coffee. I have learned to order my coffee slightly less hot and a little less sweet, both in which are of personal preferences of my own. I love that small businesses (such as Loco) are moving in by the old Brainerd Rail Road so people can appreciate the old buildings back there.

I cant compliment this place enough! Great location, staff, atmosphere! Always smiling faces and great beverages! I would give this place 10 stars if that was an option. Highly recommend!

I was in town visiting family. They know my love for coffee. So they made sure I got to stop in Loco Express. I sure was glad they did! Loved the atmosphere and the products. It was a bonus to see they also had Black Rifle products for sale in the retail area.

Located in the old railroad yards of Northern Pacific, Mary Tuome has created a unique oasis in the heart of Brainerd. Warm atmosphere and attentive staff help form the cozy feel of this coffee shop. The staff is always coming up with new creations. It is hard to choose a favorite, but my vote goes to the coffee drink called Stella.I wont give away the secret of how its made, but if you try it you wont be disappointed.

Coffee was delicious: I ordered, simply, a light roast.Atmosphere was chill and comfortable.Spread out seating, so you dont feel smooshed together. Busy, but not noisy. Would definitely recommend to a friend and will frequent myself.

The first thing I have to say is they know exactly how to make a great coffee, but like every good coffee shop the prices tend to be spendy thats the only reason I rated it four stars, I also highly recommend trying one of their cold teas its perfecto for a hot day.
