Honestly, it’s a really cool place. I found books in there I had never heard of, but were interesting. They had a large collection of other, book related materials on the top floor. These things include: bookmarks, fun quote magnets, book enamel pins, & more.Maybe the decor or what walls could use some sprucing up? But overall it’s an enjoyable bookstore. Would go again.

Amazing little bookshop with a ton of selections. I also love the blind date books that are a surprise. My seven year old old son loved it.

This place was amazing with all its nooks and crannies. Not only filled to the top with different variety books they also had a lot of cute small items. Also they have blind date books which I thought was an amazing idea. Unfortunately I don’t live by this amazing book hole in the wall. It would be a great place to even just pop in and take a while to figure out which book to buy as they also had a lot of comfy chairs.

Maybe a little pricey with some things, but it was a store full of books. I was in heaven. It was well worth a few extra bucks for the great selection and the atmosphere. I 1,000% recommend checking the Country Bookshelf out for both tourists and locals.

Not a single conservative book or conservative author can be found here. Very liberal store.

Went here to find books on varying perspectives on the Middle East, and on differing political perspectives on racial inequities in America. Unfortunately it seems the owners have censored much, as I could only find books on Palestine, nothing from the Israeli perspectives. I saw no books from conservatives (eg Ben Shapiro), but plenty from liberals, eg Ibram X Kendi (which I bought). Friendly staff, but clearly they only want to sell books from a leftist/liberal perspective.

Great local bookstore with helpful employees. Their online ordering system is really easy to use too, giving you access to a huge selection. When you order books online, you can pick them up in the store easily or have them shipped cheap if you are in Bozeman. Great customer service.

A great book store in a world that is rapidly losing hometown businesses. Clearly marked sections, friendly staff, and all the nostalgia of a book store not plugging the latest political gumbo and Oprahs book club titles. Exactly how it was when I was little, my six year old has been asking to go back everyday since we were there.

A bookstore to me, embodies the fruit of liberty. A place we can liberally select what ideas/stories we like better. This place has a heavy statist slant on the selection available. One look at the political science or military history sections will evince their clear bias. Purposeful censorship at a private business is constitutional, but it doesnt place a blurry rectangle over their ethics and integrity. Sad for Bozeman

My husband and I are so impressed with Country Bookshelf: books, cards, and other items! For over a year, we have had to shop on-line because of Covid-19 and because we are in our 70s. The sales people who have taken our orders are knowledgeable, efficient, professional, and kind. They have not only delivered books to our Bozeman address but shipped boxes to members of our family in Minnesota and Connecticut. Our 2 year old granddaughter and 3 year old grandniece particularly love their holiday books, cards, and toys that are selected by the staff. We want to particularly highly commend Cassie for selecting such wonderful and magical books for our little ones.We are most grateful for this on-line service and look forward to when we will be able to shop again in person Country Bookshelf, our favorite store.Sincerely,Catherine and Mike Legge

Went in here to get some books for my kids before COVID lockdowns earlier in the year. It felt awkward bringing my kids here though as there is an employee whose bottom half clothing was almost completely see through. My 4 year old daughter had lots of questions on the way home that I wasn’t really expecting to answer after visiting a bookstore. Other than that great store

Huge bookstore in downtown Bozeman. ENORMOUS selection. A person could spend a lot of time there. Staff was great! Atmosphere was really nice. Dont live in Bozeman however come over often. Will be back.

This store and its staff are incredible. They have pivoted during COVID19 and go out of their way to make it easy to shop local. I drove downtown thinking they were fully open and realized it was pick up only. I called and the staff member quickly found the book I was looking for and met me at the door for an easy pick up. Thank you Country Bookshelf for being amazing!!

First-rate independent bookseller with a large selection. The bookstore clerks are very smart and extremely helpful.

Country bookshelf is one of my favorite bookshops. They have a great selection of books on almost every subject, and their staff picks are really well curated. They have blind date books wrapped in brown paper, and they are so much fun! The employees are always really nice and helpful, pointing you in the direction of any books you want (and even some you didnt know you wanted!). I highly suggest stopping by if you ever need any books.

We are making an effort to give less to Amazon and more businesses locally. This is one of the few mom and pop bookstores in our town. It is a fun, quaint bookstore and we are happy to support them.

I have lived in Bozeman for many years, but it wasnt until a book signing for Match Me if You Can that I came into the Country Bookshelf. The store is cozy, and full of little nooks to lean up against the shelves and page through a book. I was especially thrilled with the collection of sundries in stock - writing tablets, bookmarks, silly erasers - which were very unique and good quality - not the standard findings at chain bookstores. They also had blind dates with a book which looked particularly fun. I will be back soon.

Great little book store right on main Street. The kids love it, lots to this place, and much more than meets the eye from just walking by. Surprise books wrapped in paper was a nice touch, she loved what she got. Prices are in line with other book stores of this type. Will be back again and again

I save my wish list of new books for our trip every year to Bozeman. I love this book store, it has everything you want displayed in easy to access shelves, knowledgeable staff, and my very favorite Blind date with a book. I love to support local booksellers, but in the western US this is one of my favorites.

Im surprised its taken me so long to review the Country Bookshelf. It seems like Im visiting this store at least once a month. I rely heavily on the employee recommendations for my next reading adventure, and its rare that one of those recommendations leaves me disappointed. Reading is a personal experience. The Country Bookshelf does an extraordinary job in recognizing that and catering to their customers. This locally owned shop will outlast all the big box stores.

Wonderfully laid out book store with local authors, Sunday New York Times, fun toys and writing stuff, as well as reviews and recommendations from staff. Host all kinds of events, book groups, and signings. A must Email list to get on. Great place to inspire your own reading or find that perfect gift for a fellow reader!

A Bozeman institution. Been going there since the late 80s.

Can you believe it. A bookstore run by book lovers somehow surviving against the might of Amazon and Barnes & Noble. People work here that love to hear what you have read recently, love to discuss books and make suggestions about similar authors and stories. A little bit of heaven for us that love the feel and smell of opening a new book. They call you when a favorite author puts out a new book! Love this place

I love my local indie bookstore! These guys are great, and theyre always willing to order me books that arent in stock. Books usually only take a couple of days to arrive.
