Walking to this coffee shop and getting a matcha latte has become one of my greatest joys in the COVID lockdown. The drinks are incredible (and very customizable - one of the only places I’ve found that lets you choose your sweetness level in a matcha, most just dump simple syrup in). They have a huge selection of milk alternatives and have great COVID precautions. Such a great spot :)

Im enjoying a very lovely cup of coffee. It has the exact quality that I was looking for this morning. The acidity level is perfect. Its bright and nuanced. 7 Pond is under new ownership. Fellow customers were friendly as well. 7 Pond is rad! I will definitely make it a point to go back.

7 Pond is easily my favorite coffee shop. Highlights:* Espresso! They have an incredible house espresso, and a guest espresso that changes every week or so* Affogato--a scoop of ice cream with their espresso poured over it* Iced chai on a hot day (pictured below)As for atmosphere, the shop has a light, airy feel to it. Jazz will probably be playing. I can write easily here.Keep in mind: cash only under $10, no wifi, if you sit next to the window on a sunny day youll feel like youre on the surface of the sun.

Even as takeout-only 7 Pond/Tokava still has delicious coffee, the best tea around, and kind service. The coffee is fine but the staff is rude and obnoxious. We had just finished a run, and they wouldnt let us buy two lattes with a credit card because it was just shy of their ten dollar minimum. Insisted we buy a pastry we didnt want to get us over the minimum. Coffee was fine but nothing to write home about. Render and other end shops are immensely better.I get that credit card transaction costs are high but they sell coffee and dont offer any form of mobile payment. And we were new customer who couldnt have know . Ive never been back.

This place is a casual and good looking shop with nice Jazz music playing in the background but that’s it, the coffee is awful. By fat the worst latte I have ever had, my wife and I were only able to drink a sip from that horrible cup. Please avoid this place, the coffee is terrible and the service worst. After I told the Barista that I did not like the coffee all I got was “oh that sucks”. He did not care at all, he just looked at me completely quiet and did not offer any solution at all. He then left us there completely unsatisfied and unattended. By far the worst experience in Boston. Don’t go there!

First time visiting 7 Pond. Walked in at 12:55pm and waited for someone to come to the register and take my order (I was the only one in line). I put in my order for two lattes, but then the barista informs me that they close at 1, so [we] can only do drip coffee and tea, even though Google says theyre open until 6pm? He then followed up, with some self-awareness, ...even though that was literally 30 seconds ago.I had been warned that this place was rude by neighbors. But it wasnt really a rude interaction, just mildly absurd. A stereotype of third wave coffee come to life.Ill stick with Nero down the street.

Not sure if it was just today because obviously all of the previous reviews are very good but our experience wasn’t the greatest. My husband and I ordered a cappuccino and a moca latte. Both beverages tasted funny, bitter, old, can’t even explain the taste. I told my husband that perhaps this places uses a different type of coffee which we aren’t used to. We tried to ask the barista about the ingredients in our coffees and he didn’t seem too happy about our potential complaint. Then, he tried to suggest that it needed more sugar, we added it. And nothing, we kept getting a terrible taste, period. We waited for the barista to help us, maybe offer a different type of coffee, a refund, but nothing. The place itself is very pretty, I was excited to try it. But instead we left feeling unattended, unsatisfied :( hopefully no one else gets this terrible experience.

Went in here to get an iced coffee, ordered a large cold brew. He poured it for me and then I when I tried to pay with a card, the guy at the counter told me there was a $10 minimum for the card. So I added two waters and a piece of chocolate... finally I get my coffee, and they dont have any almond milk (just soy milk), nor do they have zero calorie sweeteners of any kind. Unbelievably disappointing and the worst waste of $10. Avoid this place at all costs... walk down the street to Caffè Nero, Dunkin Donuts, or this awesome new place called Espresso Yourself. This place is NOT worth your time.

They feature constantly rotating guest espressos from wonderful roasteries as well as Barrington Gold for their house espresso.
