My absolutely gorgeous engagement ring designed by Cynthia is Stunning Perfection. It is elegant first and foremost, but burns with a sparkling fire that is barely ‘contained’ by the gorgeous subtlety of intricate floral engravings decorating the ring itself and the basket of ‘leaves’ holding the stone in place. Its proportions are perfect, Cynthia took into consideration all the practical, architectural and engineering aspects of this masterpiece and gave expert advice on how it would suit the shape and fit of my finger. Cynthia created me a beautiful engagement ring that I absolutely love! We visited several other jewelers and they just didn’t have the special sauce that Cynthia has. I had a general idea of the ring I wanted to create out of my grandmother’s diamonds—a round floral shape. The other jewelers were just kind of like “yeah we can create a setting for that.” Cynthia was different. Walking into her studio you enter a completely different world: Cynthia is more than a jeweler—shes an artist, and she will make sure your ring expresses what you want but also complements your hand.The appointment begins with an analysis and a sketch of your hand. Cynthia recommended metals and designs, and then talked with us about our interests. My husband and I met while waiting in a line in NYC because I remarked that I didnt think paleontologists existed anymore: hes a paleontologist. The fact that she does the designing and makes the jewelry makes a huge difference when creating a custom ring because: 1. she knows what looks good 2. she knows what will work 3. she knows first hand what you want ( rather than situations where a designer tells a jewelry maker what you had communicated.....and miscommunication takes place). Cynthia is also super friendly and easy to work with. I highly recommend Cynthia!!!

Cynthia Britt Custom Jewelry was nothing less than an excellent experience. We started a year ago designing the most unique wedding set and the result was everything we had imagined in our dreams. Cynthia worked well within our budget and left nothing to be desired in her design, she hit all of our expectations and then some. Cynthia is a wonderful guide throughout the multiple steps of the ring-creation and ring-buying process: sketching the ring design, picking the sapphire, picking the surrounding diamonds, finalizing the band and setting, and securing ring insurance. She worked within my budget, no questions asked, and continued to be cognizant of it over the ring design period (always checking back to make sure I was comfortable with cost).To start, she merely asks for a picture of the persons hand, a few pictures of the person in everyday clothing, and if available, an idea of what the person may want. From there, Cynthia draws inspiration from the shape of the persons hand, their skin tone, and their style, to create a truly custom piece.

About a year ago I began the search for a perfect engagement ring. I was sent plenty of ideas and images from my now fiance but each precedent image had elements of what she wanted but was not quite hitting the mark. I purchased my own diamond on a trip to Dubai and brought only a center stone and some wild ideas to my first meeting with Cynthia but right away she was able to start filtering and guiding me. Let me first start out by saying that I rarely take the time to review anything, be it good or bad. That said, my experience with Cynthia was so exceptional, that I felt compelled to write something. Purchasing an engagement ring can be an overwhelming and disconcerting process to say the least. Before sitting down with Cynthia, I felt “lost”. After a handful of disappointing sessions with some of the more “well-known” jewelers, I was lucky enough to come across a few reviews for Cynthia.Upon reaching out to Cynthia, she promptly responded, and provided me with an overview of what the process would look like over the next several weeks if I chose to work with her. She also requested that I provide pictures of my girlfriend at our first session together. My initial meeting with Cynthia was warm and inviting. She made me feel at ease from the onset. We spent the majority of our time together, talking about my girlfriend, her likes, dislikes, and looking at pictures. It felt like I was catching up with an old friend. Cynthia took the time to really understand my girlfriend’s style and taste. I had a general idea of the type of ring that I wanted, but certainly nothing definitive. Before I knew it, Cynthia was sketching the exact ring that she envisioned for my girlfriend based on the minimal information that I had provided her. It really was an eye opening experience, and I left that appointment feeling confident for the first time in this process.My next few sessions with Cynthia involved the actual diamond selection. I had provided Cynthia with my budget, as well as general preferences on cut/color/clarity. I assumed, like everywhere else that I had been, that Cynthia would bring in diamonds that were 10%-25% above my initial budget, but Cynthia did not. She took the time to search her distributors for diamonds that hit all of the specifications that I had requested. Cynthia is obviously very well-known and respected within the diamond industry, as her network of distributors is very impressive. She sources her diamonds from the same distributors as the high-end retailers on Newbury. That means that guys like me can get a “Cartier” or “Tiffany” quality diamond without having to pay additional for the name.Cynthia was patient with me during the diamond selection process, and took the time to teach me how to inspect a diamond, and the different characteristics that I should look for and pay attention to. She was also more than happy to provide additional diamonds upon my request.Overall, my experience with Cynthia was amazing! She made the whole process painless, educational, and exciting. Cynthia literally took me by the hand, and guided me step by step through this process. Her service was so personal, that if I hadn’t seen other clients show up for appointments, I would have thought that I was her only one. My girlfriend (Now Fiancee!) absolutely loves the ring that Cynthia designed!As excited as I was for my proposal, I was just as excited to tell my Fiancee all about the process that I had gone through to get to that point. I absolutely recommend anyone who is looking for a custom ring to go to Cynthia!! My fiance surprised me one evening by bringing me to Cynthia to get a custom fitting. The entire experience was incredible! Cynthia was very sweet and made us feel welcomed the minute we walked through the door. She was extremely knowledgable, and most importantly trust worthy. Both my fiance and I really wanted to learn a little bit about the process before we committed to a designer, and right away she was able to walk us through the steps, share with us her designs and expertise, and was extremely patient with us! Her ability to be flexible and honest won us over, and she worked with us closely from that point on!Eventually we decided to take things for a spin and brought in three old rings to use to make a custom made engagement ring. Even with the change, Cynthia sustain her posture and was able to use what we had in creating something unique and beautiful. Although the pieces were difficult for her to work with, the outcome was absolutely amazing!Cynthia was able to take on everything I was looking for in a ring, and I was really glad I felt comfortable with her. My fiance and I ended up leaving the country for three months, but even during that time she was readily available to contact when we wanted updates on the ring, and sent us pictures of the progress.Once we got back, my fiance surprise me once more by re-proposing to me, but this time with the ring we had worked on together! Cynthia blew me away with her craftsmanship and attention to details. She was able to take any old ring and bring life back into it by still maintaining its true beauty! If I could give Cynthia Britt Custom Jewelry more than 5 stars I would. When I first began searching engagement rings, after seeing Cynthia’s work there was no question where we would be going. The experience my (now!) fiancé and I had with Cynthia was perfect from start to finish. We were probably a little different than the normal couple who go to Cynthia, as I wanted my fiancé to be as involved in the process as possible. We had been dating for 7 years prior, so I wanted her to be involved in the creation process of her ring and have this really be a memory for the both of us. It was definitely a great, memorable experience that the both of us shared, and Cynthia was so accommodating with everything that we wanted. Cynthia was there every step of the way and was very thorough in explaining how the process of creating a ring works. She really made sure we got exactly what we wanted, and within our budget! The time spent on this process is something we will always remember, and we will definitely be going back to Cynthia in the future.

As someone with little prior knowledge she was very patient explaining every detail to me and providing her expert guidance. I actually found Cyntha when I was living abroad. She was able to find rare stones, emailing me photos, so that we could begin the creative process as soon as I returned to Boston. Recently we returned to design our wedding rings. Fortunately, she can ship so we can receive out wedding rings out in Oregon in good time for the wedding.

We loved the product and the custom experience felt so special as she spent time sketching my hand and created something that fit me and my style, personality etc. (or at least this is what I was told)We recently sent her a referral, a couple that is friends with us. He went to see Cynthia in person and told us afterwards that his soon-to-be fiancee was interested in the same engagement ring as mine. I know this is odd since they are our friends and we run in the same circles. I also understand there are only so many shapes you can get with diamonds, but if youre going to a custom designer the possibilities for the final product are endless.I was curious and was working with Cynthia on my band at the time, so I decided to ask her if she was re-creating my ring for our friend. She assured me she was not and that her ring was different.Its not. It is the exact same ring. This isnt a handbag or a ring purchased from Tiffanys that is mass produced. Its a custom engagement ring. From a business perspective, I am so confused. I suppose she saw a sale and went for it, so to an extent I get it.I knew even at the time that in the grand scheme of life this wouldnt matter but after a few days it still annoyed me so I reached out to Cynthia and explained how I felt. Her response was insane. She basically told me that I am a fortunate woman and my husband loves me so I should shut up. So condescending! Terrible customer service.I dont need to be reminded of how fortunate and blessed that I am. But no one is talking about being fortunate. We are talking about business. Is this a material object? Yes. But shes in the business of making and selling material objects, which me and my husband chose to spend a lot of money on.If you use Cynthia you will receive a beautiful product but Id reconsider the whole custom angle. If anything, if you want something different, dont send people you know to her.

I worked with Cynthia last year to design an amazingly gorgeous ring for my now fiancee. I found her through a quick google search and saw her highly reviewed work. I went in with a consultation and brought my own diamonds that I had bought from your normal day-to-day online diamond retailer. Cynthia saw the diamonds, inspected them, and then told me that she could do much better.Cynthia took the time to explain the intricacies of diamond buying, grading, and helped me understand why the diamonds I had bought, while nice, could be much better. She then offered to source comparison diamonds, no obligation required, to compare before she went ahead with her work. Let me just say, the diamonds she came back with (same exact cut, grade, size etc) completely outshone the diamonds I had brought in. There was no question I was relying too much on the grade of the diamond, and not on what the diamond actually showed. In the end I chose her diamonds over mine, with no regrets.We then sat down to design a ring that would be perfect for my fiancee. I brought in pictures of my fiancee, her hands, the type of jewelry she liked, and a comparison of what I was kind of shooting for. Cynthia took everything into consideration and came back with a design that I thought was absolutely fitting.The design work and setting has been flawless and my fiancees ring shines like no other ring I have seen. I recently helped my best guy friend work with Cynthia to buy a custom engagement ring for his girlfriend (now fiancé). I came to Cynthia after going to a couple of traditional Jewelers, it was really irritating to pick a ring and find out that they couldn’t shape it down to my (now) fiancé’s ring size. A coworker talked me into scheduling an appointment with Cynthia in early April about creating an engagement ring. I had a tiny budget to work with (recent college graduate, Americorp service member), so I was unbelievably relieved when I met Cynthia and realized she had my best interests in mind and welcomed my business despite the low price range. Designing a ring my fiancé would love was such a personal experience! Instead of being pushed into buying this diamond or that stone, I was encouraged to share my ideas and a little about my girlfriend. This is where Cynthias artistic prowess began to shine! She sketched out a few designs based on what I told her and suggested various materials we could use for the band. After talking to me and seeing some pictures she had figured out my fiancés jewelry style and knew just where to put the details. She sourced a GIA certified, highly graded, Old European Cut Diamond which was my only choice for Bruna, and others to provide perspective. She encouraged a band and setting based on the shape of Bruna’s hand, our active lifestyle and the diamond I had chosen. Her creative process has incredible flow.The day I walked into her studio, I felt like I was seeing an old friend. Cynthia herself is as radiant as her pieces. Our engagement ring replaced the air in my lungs with tears in my eyes and she joyfully offered a tissue. I was stunned. All we had discussed had lead her to perfection. I’ve always loved jewelry and wanted more than anything to design my own ring. My boyfriend (now fiancé), knowing me well, gave me complete creative freedom when it came to designing my ring.I did a random search on Google for jewelry designers in Boston and that is where I found Cynthia’s website. It was clear from our first meeting that she loved what she did for a living and wasn’t doing it solely for a profit.At your initial consultation, Cynthia will study your hand and provide you with ideas on what will look best on your hand shape and overall coloring.
