I went here to have my license plate bracket bracket installed and was greeted my a friendly young gentleman that goes by the name Steve. He helped me install this with a smile and it only cost $10 for his time. If you need any service done by these guy I totally recommend them if your in the Allston area. Will be coming back for more service.

Steve is honest, will never fix something that does not need fixing and is very smart.

I have used A&I for a number of years at this point, always to great experience! I am finally getting around to writing them a review today out of thanks for their help on a recent cosmetic/body fix to the trunk handle of my (ancient) Toyota Prius. This had broken and the dealership was quoting $400 for a part that wouldnt even be the same color, which, combined with painting + labor costs seemed completely unreasonable for a nearing ~20years car I intend to drive until it no longer lets me. The mechanics at A&I suggested I order the appropriate replacement part on eBay (which I just did, for 1/4 less than the dealership quoted, and in the correct color) and I am feeling SO appreciative for their willingness to suggest a practical, cost-effective approach to allow me to keep driving this car for the time being. Past service Ive gotten from them has been consistently excellent, and quite reasonable, but this encounter really blew me away. I seriously cannot recommend them enough.

New to the area and came here based on high reviews, price and the fact that a man over the phone said they have same day availability to service but ended up wasting time and took my business elsewhere. This place is dirty and unprofessional, not worth the hype reviews given on Google, probably fake. Maybe they get enough business and don’t care for more. Upon arrival the place looks like an abandoned auto junk yard, I walked into the office and waited in a cluttered and dirty hallway for 10 minutes while the guy in the office never acknowledged me and turned away to talk on the phone. Never again, cheap prices but bad service, there are plenty of better places to go in and around Boston.

Great body shop thats family run. They dont overcharge you or try to tell you that you need something that you dont. Pricing is a lot better compared to other places and I would recommend them to anyone.

Really knowledgeable and honest employees with fantastic prices. They won me over when I took my girlfriends car in because we thought the brake pads needed to be changed and they explained that the brake pads were still good for several months. To top it all off they are very quick and always have friendly staff. Got the brake pads changed there a few months later and been going back for regular work since. Never been disappointed!

This place is a diamond in the rough, and my new go to spot. Can barely tell the place is in business from the outside, and inside it’s a no frills kind of office with stacks of parts visible down hallways.I brought my older car in for a tune up, oil change, and to have a professional just look everything over. I basically gave them carte blanche. I told Steve I know nothing about my car, but its acting a little funny, so could they please go over the car, and tell me everything they think I should fix/ replace, and I’ll follow their recommendations. They drove the car, found a few minor issues, and called me with a short, affordable list of repairs.THAT is what I need in a mechanic, and that is what you get here. Honest, professional, knowledgeable.

I went to A & I to get my brakes changed. They charge reasonable prices, $90/hour for labor, and dont try to upsell you. When I asked if I should change something, they said no and that the part was fine for many more miles. I appreciate the quick turnaround of the work (less than half a day) but sometimes, they forget to call you. Thats a little annoying because then you might be without your car for longer than you expected. Over all though, very happy.

This place is great. Quick, courteous, give you straight info. Ive used these guys several times- rear differential fluid change, oil changes. I just asked about a noise I was hearing from my car at low speeds. The main guy stopped what he was doing, took my car for a quick drive, and came back with an honest answer that made him zero money. Its not surprising they have a high rating- honest, helpful, and prices are good, too.

Everybody was so kind and helpful. I totally trusted them! They are very fair and honest. Once, they even looked at my car and when they determined it was a quick and easy fix, just popped back in the part that had come lose and sent me on my way. I wont take my car anywhere else. Cannot say enough good things about Steve and his shop. Brought the car in because my brakes made a horrible grinding noise after I picked it up from a dealership. Steve had my car in and out within 24 hours with new brakes. No fuss, no upselling, no dramatics. Price was fair and he was super transparent about the costs. I am moving soon and am sad that I wont be able to bring my car back there and will have to pray there is a shop half as good when I move.

Ive had these guys work on my wifes car a handful of times, and they are really great. Initially, I came to them for a 2nd opinion on something another mechanic said I needed to do (replace brake pads & caliper) and these guys said it wasnt as critical and I could save money by riding mine for several more months. I came back to them 6 months later ready to have them do the work.Theyve always given us solid deals and have never tried to upsell or push more work onto us so they could make more money. I deeply respect that, and have referred several friends here as a result.I usually call them at the beginning of the week we need car work done, and they let me know what day is best; dropoff in the morning, the car is done before my workday is done. Fast. Friendly. Efficient.

Cant say enough about this place. They will not lie to you and theyve saved me thousands. I was quoted elsewhere for 3000$ for a new clutch and suspension and these guys did it for 1000. No issues with those since then. Ive had other issues because its an old car, that they could have really ripped me off on and charged me so much for - but they never have. Theres been times when Ive even brought it in out of paranoia and they actually told me nothing was wrong. If I ever leave Boston this will be one of the places Ill miss.

Honest, very capable, and a fraction of the cost of getting repairs at a dealer. They can take your car usually without appointment, explain what the problem is simply, and Ive had them reject a dealer diagnosis of a problem for something far less expensive. Excellent mechanics.

I was very happy with the service they provided. I have a 1985 Mercedes that is hard to find mechanics willing to work on but they were more than willing to take a look for free and finished the work the same day I dropped it off.

Absolutely love this place walked in the guy took my keys I wrote down my name and my phone number and he called me and told me what was wrong with the car and asked me if he wanted to fix it the pricing is excellent I was able to get my car fixed it was completely done by 12 1 ish havent had a problem ever since definitely will go back and if you want something with reasonable prices there the way to go

Replaced my front brakes and rotors for less than half of what dealerships were quoting me. Service was quick. Brakes run fine.

I grew up going to my uncles shop for service, but now that I live in Boston I have to find alternative options. I am very skeptical with the stigma attached to Auto Repair shops but these guys were very straightforward and charged a low price.I had to change a sensor which was quoted at over $800 from the Acura dealership and they quoted me $480. They called letting me know a tensioner was leaking oil and fixed it for cost of the part (I followed up with the dealership to make sure, and same price they told me). Also, when I came to pick up my car they had the part on the table and showed me where it was leaking.Really stand up guys, fair prices and overall great experience.

Made a last minute appointment for a repair. They got me in the same day and stayed late to finish fixing the problem. Amazing service at a great price! :-D
