We rolled into Boone on a day that cycled through bouts of rain and blue sky. Happily, Rock Dimensions was open, and we were able to sign my nephew up for three climbs of the wall. Everyone there was terrific--genial, professional, focused, and clearly skilled. A big shout-out to Alec who helped my nephew in his climbs. He was amazing with my nephew, who by the way, has down syndrome. Thanks to all of you for a great experience, even on a very wet day!

We showed up and my son really wanted to climb. We found out they were about to close and we weren’t going to be in town the next day. Jenny told us she would be happy to let him climb and cheerfully stood out in the rain and belayed him for 15 minutes after they were closed. She was very encouraging and professional and as a result our son had a great time and learned a lot. We will definitely be back and I highly recommend you check this place out!

This was such an awesome experience for me and my son! It was a great bonding moment for us and made our day so special. I was so impressed with the instructor and how supportive she was for a first timer. I wasnt sure I wanted or could do it, but the way she guided my 12yr old and me, I was very impressed! We cant wait to return!

Rock Dimensions is by far the best Rock Climbing outfitters business. The owners and staff go above and beyond with customer service. When you go with Rock Dimensions you will get quality, expert guides, knowledge of the sport, and leave with a new craving for wanting to rock climb all the time. I first learned about this sport by taking a course at Rock Dimensions and the knowledge and confidence I gained is priceless. There has been two excursions I went on and I felt safe, I had a superb experience, and left with an overwhelming feeling of accomplishment. Rock Dimensions is more than just a business it is a way of life.

In the past three years of living in Boone, Rock Dimensions has always been my first choice in climbing gear. Whether its shoes, guidebooks, static rope, or conversation during class breaks, Ryan and Jenny were always super helpful and great people to talk with. 10/10 would recommend, and their guides are some of the best around so theyre the best to go with.

Highly recommend hiring a guide with Rock Dimensions. Drew was really knowledgeable and I had a great time climbing at Ship Rock. Ive been climbing in a gym for a few years and Ive climbed outside a handful of times. After a few cancelled trips with friends, I decided to hire someone to get more experience outside and up my skills. Got to rappel and climb routes harder than I have before, and quite a few of them as well. Would be a great option for visiting rock climbers that need a partner, someone looking to transition from gym to rock or try trad climbing.

At age 53, I can finally cross rock climbing off my bucket list! Our guide Erick taught my teenage daughter and I the basics in a half-day rock climbing adventure. Erick was an incredible teacher, extremely patient and super encouraging throughout the process. He taught us to tie our own knots, check our own gear and even had us belay for each other. So much more than I expected and such a great experience to share with my daughter. We highly recommend Rock Dimensions and Erick!!

We had the best experience at Rock Dimensions! The owners were extremely accommodating and friendly. We only had one day to find something to do, they scheduled us last minute, had a guide come meet us with no hesitation. We unfortunately had a tree fall over the road and had to wait to have it moved so we were 30 mins late and they still took us out! Our guide Eric was amazing very professional, encouraging and patient all round great guy! Very much recommend you ask for him specifically. The whole experience was worth every penny! Anyone can do it, they have different levels of difficulty. Eric will teach you as much as you want to know about rock climbing or will just let you climb, we learned about the history of Rock Dimensions and the rocks that we’re established as climbing spots. I can say enough good things about this place. So glad we stopped!

I was given Rock Dimensions(RD)name from another adventure company in Virginia who said “these were the guys” in the Boone area of NC. Called RD and booked it after discussion area and options. We booked full day, $90 pat Table Rock mountain. 1/2 deposit made at booking. Instructions, including map to get the parking area, were sent via email. Text messages were also used as convenient communication. On day of hike our guide, Drew, guide was on time and ready. Friendly and easy to work with, he never rushed. He was there to assist, help and educate. He didn’t need to get involved with the goofy side activities of our group. He stayed focused on his job- safety and fun. Our group was 2 adults of moderate athletic ability. 3 teens who has little to no climbing experience. Safety was stressed. Morning was climbing- he made 3 ropes. Afternoon was rappelling. Everyone had an amazing time. I will use this group again as I was very impressed. You should feel confident in their guide’s ability and work ethic.

Son and I participated in an event held by Rock Dimensions .I am 51 and have 0 experience other than just being a human that has climbed trees and boulders as a kid . My 21 yr old son had 0 experience. We wanted to do something new.Adrian shared with us during the day he was a school counselor. He has the patience that illustrated to me he certainly would be a good counselor. Ryan or Rian (sp?) Was introduced to climbing via the BSA many years ago , i got the sense he was still living the Scout Law (trustworthy,Loyal, helpful,Friendly ,Courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave and reverent *Believe me people that is hard to find today. These two got my son and I having a great time climbing safely with no exlerience in an hour . We had an awesome time, and if time allows im hoping to participate again in an activity with these two.If i understand correctly these two have approximately 60 yrs of climbing experience combined. Their passion for climbing radiates . The event I participated in was an class but it was also a fund raiser of sorts. Certain group possibly the Carolina Climbing Coalition are trying to raise funds to purchase land that would allow more opportunity for people to climb, the point I want to make is that the fee o paid went to a good cause , the guys were volunteering their time to help a block head like myself! I doubt if you will find many (if anybody) that volunteer their Sundays for a cause they believe in much anymore. Our family had some bad luck recently and we came to a cross roads , this day of climbing was exactly what my son and I needed to become energized and get through the struggles we may encounter going forward. If God wills it we will try to return for more guidance.Adrian - you never told us the answer to your riddle? ....what sits in the corner all day and travels around the World?

The first trip was my first time ever climbing, and Daniel was an awesome, patient, and inspiring instructor.Later trips grew more demanding, as I and my family improved our skills (our kids improving a lot faster for some reason), and each guide (Cameron, Jacob, and others) was very attentive to our abilities, encouraging yet challenging us to reach our goals. The scenery is spectacular, the climbing exhilarating, and the guides fun and knowledgeable. Two Great Days -- Climbing and CavingThis was a father and son trip that did not disappoint! We did the 1 day tower to rock program, and a day of caving with them.Upfront I want to say thank you to Max, our wonderful guide. He showed great patience and was a great role model for my 14 year old son. Unbeknownst to him, two individuals came up to me during our rock climbing outing and said we were lucky to have him as a guide -- I agree, and can confirm he is an amazing young man, and professional in his field. I loved his passion for the environment, and the way he spoke of his past mentors. Refreshing and uplifting. Bottom line. Max was amazingly safe and knowledgeable on the rock face, and in the cave. We will book a follow-on trip because of our great experience with Max, and the company he represents.Business wise -- great scheduling, great follow-up contact and confirmation, great equipment, and very easy to work with. Punctual, ready to start immediately, yet flexible enough to meet our own personal needs. The shop was perfectly located and easy to find.My son and I had never climbed or caved before, so we were a bit apprehensive. After the first 30 mins with Rock Dimensions our worries were gone, and we are confident that we will be back again soon.Thank you!Ryan

I first met the owners of Rock Dimensions, Ryan and Jenny, through PE climbing classes that I took at Appalachian State. I got into climbing more in these classes and had some fun, but the next year I took a PCIA guiding course with Ryan, where I learned so much more about climbing than I had imagined. I had a great time in the course, but above all else the focus on climbing safely and ethically has had the biggest impact on me and the decisions I make in my own climbing. I know because of this that Rock Dimensions runs their business because they love climbing and teaching and want to share the fun and knowledge with those around them. I highly recommend stopping in at the shop in Boone if you want to have a good time!

I remember the day this happened. We were doing a training on a small boulder underneath Jim Dandy and Hidden Crack. The boulder was maybe 20 ft. tall. We were not on an established climb. All climbers were above us on Table Rock. We decided to dislodge a loose rock so it would not fall on us while we were training. We could clearly see no one was underneath the 20 ft tall boulder. My son had the time of his life at this rock climbing camp. He starting talking about next year halfway through the week.I had the great fortune of tagging along one day to take pictures. The guides ; Nicole, Dave, and Max were phenomenal. It takes a lot to do this job well I think. Not only are they excellent rock climbers who can teach the children quality skills, but theyre also very good with managing these children and inspiring them to listen (a skill not to be taken lightly). They kept the children safe and orderly while continuously checking to be sure they were hydrated , fed and accounted for. As the kids quarreled over typical conflicts of whos next, who had the longer turn, who gets to go first, etc. all of the guides patiently managed the rotation of climbing while helping the kids learn to work out their conflict on their own to a large extent. We will be coming back again and again for camp and are already discussing a family climbing trip w Rock Dimensions.
