New owner, and Ruth is gone, for those reading older reviews. So far, no issues with the new owner, just a change in the cost of an oil change, but thats manageable. My experience there was at least adequate compared to how it was previously, and I will update here if I experience otherwise.

This is hands down and I mean hands down ! The absolute BEST mechanic shop in South Florida. 2nd time i am taking my Mazda to be repaired with this shop and what a relief! They are professional kind and give u the family feel. I was able to drop my car off at 7am and call Ruth up and she literally makes your life so much easier! Thank you to Ruth and team for an AMAZING job fixing my Hyundai Elantra air conditioner today!My car AC was only coming out of half the vents, and it was getting miserable to drive. I went to the Coconut Creek Hyundai last week where I purchased my car and where I have always gone for service. I was already getting brakes, spark plugs, brake fluid, oil change, and filter change at Hyundai, so I asked if they could look at my AC as well. They said it would be $175 just to look at it and who knows for the actual service cost. This seemed insane to me—I was spending over $1000 and Hyundai couldn’t even LOOK at my AC or give a ballpark cost???So I found Boca Auto Service with great reviews and called to get a price for looking at my AC. I was blown away when Ruth said it was free to look at it—what a night and day difference!!Ruth was SO friendly and helpful and explained to me how she was diagnosing the fuse/fan issue. She ordered the part right away to arrive in 3 days (really 1 business day since this was the Friday before Labor Day) and quoted a very reasonable price of $380 for the part plus 2 hrs labor. I went into today, my car was fixed in less than 90 minutes, AND the final price was in fact only $260!! Just a wonderful experience.Finding a good mechanic is intimidating—that’s why I have only ever gone to the dealership, and why I was driving around wayyyy too long in the Florida summer with a malfunctioning AC. But now that I’ve found Boca Auto Service, I will NEVER go anywhere else!! My husband will be taking his car here too, and we will be singing their praises to everyone we know.Finally, if you’ve read this far, I should add that they have a very comfy waiting area, there is an Einstein bagels across the street, and you can easily walk to Mizner Park with shops, Starbucks etc. 10/10, recommend to anyone in the Boca area!

I’ve had the worst experiences at car mechanics, dealerships etc. & came here nervously wondering what was wrong with my car now... the lady at the front desk was so kind and understanding and was right on time for our scheduled appt which is a coin toss at mechanic shops sometimes. She checked my car out quickly and didn’t even charge me - I will definitely be going back here. I highly recommend this place. They also give 10% off the hourly labor pay to students.

I heard her dealing with a client that had been incorrectly told by a dealership that she would need a bunch of work on her car. Spoke with Fred on Monday, and brought my car in for service first thing Tuesday morning. He replaced my brakes and rotors, changed the oil, and flushed the power steering fluid. He was was very upfront & fair with his pricing. I am rarely one to leave reviews, but Boca Auto Service has a new lifetime customer. Definitely give them a shot, you will be pleased with their service.

Have been using Boca Auto Service for years. Yesterday I needed a new battery and within an hour of calling, one was delivered and installed at the shop within 20 minutes of my arrival! Fantastic service. Ruth really knows her auto stuff! Wouldn’t trust my Stang anywhere else.

Staff was friendly and job was completed in a timely manner. Unfortunately, I cannot leave a positive review because none of the employees were wearing facial coverings. I am new to the area and have always had good luck with my vehicles. My SUV, which has a perfect service record, decided to not start intermittently. My check engine light was on for the first time ever. I did a google search and found Boca Auto Service. I made a call, and spoke with Fred. He offered to hook it up to the computer for Free to see what the code was. He quickly found the reason what was causing the issue. Unfortunately, they received a bad part, however, with their effort and professional demeanor, they were able to get my SUV going in time for my Thanksgiving trip. Both Ruth and Fred are great!! I will definitely be bringing my SUV and other vehicle there for servicing. Very honest. I hope all of them have a wonderful Thanksgiving!! As Im thankful I found them. Did a quick diagnosis and oil change on a busy weekend - thanks to the front desk lady to put me in. Honest people and professional service. Although Tim (the technician if I am not wrong) didnt have concrete evidence on the shaking issue for my Ford 500, he was honest and provided me with a good reference point. The store is small but I think you can trust the service.

These are the nicest people I’ve encountered in south Florida! I had a rattling heat shield and had gotten a quote from the dealership for a couple hundred dollars to fix it. This shop fixed it in less than an hour and didn’t charge me a penny! Stating “don’t worry about it- it’s just a heat shield. You can give us something if you can.” I left the shop in awe of their generosity and will be giving them all of my future business.

Unorganized and wasn’t ready for me, despite having confirmation from a few days prior over the phone. Poor communication between staff, got a refund and went to Tire Kingdom.To the response from owner: you’re right, allow me to elaborate. Woman at front said they couldn’t take any more oil changes when I arrived at open. There was also a dog in the lobby and commotion Everywhere. I told her a gentleman confirmed I would be fine if I came before 9am saturday. She gave me her card and said he doesn’t know what he’s talking about, call me next time. Highly recommend, Honest and fair.I went to the dealer to have my car repaired the power steering appeared to be broken. The dealer gave me an estimate for $1398 to change the power steering pump. So I decided to shop around and found Boca Auto Service, they inspected the car and found that the power steering pump was fine and that the fluid was completely dry. I was completely shocked and pleased by there honesty.

As someone who has serious trust issues with auto mechanics, this place has proven to me that honest mechanics actually do exist. Since moving to Boca a year and a half ago, I have taken both my car and my wifes car here multiple times for routine service, and each time they go above and beyond to make sure Im not being ripped off by other Mechanics. I have a BMW and my wife has an Audi, and the service and honesty I get from them is really unheard of in the industry. Also, Ive priced check them a few times just to make sure Im not overpaying and without exaggerating, the prices they charge are 30%, or a fraction of what the dealerships charge, and 50% below any other local mechanic in the area. Ruth, the lady who sits at the front desk, is extremely nice, always has your back, and makes sure she shops around to get you the best prices on parts. Finally, Fred, the owner, is also extremely nice, appreciative and helpful.

I have always been extremely satisfied and if there was an issue with a faulty part (NOT there fault) they have stood by there work and warranty 100% of the time. No questions asked. Upon purchasing an old mazda, I brought it over here to see what was needed. I was totally prepared to at least shell out for new brakes as they were quite squeeky so I figured replacing them was a given. Ruth informed me they were still fine even though she knew i was expecting their replacing them. Thats the kind of honesty thats got me hooked to them.

One word, LIARS!I recently purchased a Living Social coupon to have my oil changed and tires rotated. I had heard positives things about Boca Auto from both neighbors, and online reviews. I wanted to give them a try anyways, as I am also in need of some major repairs, and finding a honest mechanic always seems like mission impossible, so why not have them do a oil change and tire rotation, to get a feel for how the shop operates, and to see if I would want to do further business with them. Thank goodness, the truth came out in just the first visit with the oil change and tire rotation.When picking up my car, I quickly noticed that my front two wheels are completed dirty, indicating to me that they did not do a correct tire rotation of swapping the the front tires, with the ones in the back corners. This point in time I walked back inside of the shop and asked, “What is your normal procedure in doing a tire rotation?” The answer I was given, “oh, we just swap the left with the right, we don’t swap the front with the back, unless if you specified that.” I basically walked out of the shop, disappointed, that was the biggest BS I have ever heard of. I have for over 20 years been personally doing tire rotations myself, as well, as had it done. This being the first time I have ever heard of such a thing. Meanwhile, I began to wonder if even they swapped the left with the right tires, well, I had a simple solution to that. My front left tire had a recent plug put into it, so I knew to check, however, the dusty parking lot left my tires difficult to tell right away. Once I got home, and all the dust removed from the tires, I could clearly see, that the plug was still on the front left tire. They lied. The tires were never rotated.It’s a shame that people can look you in your eyes, and lie to you. I will just walk away from this knowing that they will never get anymore of my business, and that I would never recommend this place to anyone. Just stay away!!

My Jeep Wrangler started having issues when I was accelerating. The car would shake and vibrate pretty good. The next day I called a jeep dealership and left a message but heard nothing back. Same day I called Boca auto. They picked up immediately and ms Ruth was great to work with. They were able to get my car in the same day no hassle and what price was quoted was what I was charged and considering the work done and the parts it was a very fair price and they have a discount for me being a student at Fau. All in all I was looking for a good mechanic shop in Boca and theyve earned my future business

Went for a Groupon oil change they did not put enough oil and I cant prove it but I think they caused the leak I had no leak before I went to them in the oil change they didnt even put the right amount for my Mercedes you would think they would know that

My shifter cable something blah blah needed repair. I took it to Nissan dealership and they told me it was $500 with a $166 diagnostic fee. I though there is no way this could be that much money. I called up Boca Auto Service and they saved the day. They fixed my shifter cable thingy and gave me a oil change all under $200 and did it that day! Lesson learned, dont trust the dealership. I have been going here since I was a freshman at FAU 5 years ago, and they are first class! Everyone is so kind and you can tell they do right by their customers which is why it is always busy. I live in Delray now and will continue to take my vehicles here. I HIGHLY recommend because it is hard to come by a shop that does such good and honest work!

Weve been dealing with Fred and Boca Auto for 10+ years and with various model cars along the way. A major strength of his company is communication with the customer about any problem dealing with the original issue and subsequent alternatives to resolve the original issue at hand. They have always been responsive and fair in pricing, but more importantly, if the problem is not fixed, they will bend over backwards to make sure the problem does not become an issue in the future. Great shop, good coffee and good reading materials while you waint.

I don’t know how this place has good reviews. My undercarriage fell off of my car and i went there to have it replaced. Within 10 days it fell off and was dragging on the ground. I called her and let her know that I didn’t think they did a good job. She got so nasty . I told her that a friend of mine cut it off and it was installed with zip ties . This nasty lady did not even apologize, instead she said have a nice day and hung up on me. I also heard her talking nasty when I was at the shop waiting over an hour for an appointment that I made. Nasty lady, I will be Filing a complaint with the BBB. You have no business working with the public !

Took 7 years to find a good mechanic in So FL but finally did. His pricing is fair and he only does repairs that are necessary. The shop turns the cars out at a good speed and the owner is able to handle nosy customers who call too much (sorry). He tends to get ahead of himself and get the repairs done first but none is ever unnecessary.

I purchased a groupon so i was unaware of their procedure for setting an appointment. So the first time i arrived i was instructed set an appointment and that it “usually takes an hour but can take up to an hour”... for an oil change.. an HOUR. But ok I’ve already purchased the groupon.I set and appointment but when i arrived for the appointment i was told the mechanic was out... Ok cool..As a person who drives for a living oil changes are important and postponing it can become an extremely inconvenient - as this did.Eventually I secure an appointment that works and hopefully the mechanic will be there. Totally keeping a clear head about this.I arrive on time, they begin working on my vehicle 30 MINUTES after my appointment time.After an hour and 30 mins (1.5hrs) i express to Ruth that i’m dissatisfied with the time it’s taking to complete my oil change.She says she’s doing the best she can and she don’t need me fussing at her.. (totally understandable) I apologize for her feeling that i am fussing at her but - she interrupts me.She says if i don’t like it i can take my service somewhere “there’s plenty of other places you can go” (gestures to the door)As I kept trying to express to Ruth, I was dissatisfied that the amount of time it taking because an hour is excessive but it been more than time.They help me to the appointment time NO EXCEPTION, as a customer I should hold you as well to appointments - NO EXCEPTIONSI say i understand that fact but - she interrupts “you know we just need to stop talking about this.” Walks into the mechanic area and yells at the mechanic STILL WORKING ON MY CAR “take His car car out. NOW!”Absolutely the worst. Won’t even come back to redeeem the second oil change provided by my Groupon. RUTH clearly needs to work on her Customer service skills. In the many years of dealing with various companies private as well as dealerships I conclude that Boca auto service is in fact a reliable and honest company. My 2001 ford focus seemed to be on its last leg with only expensive repairs in its future but Boca Auto service reassured me of its reliability and longevity with proper and regular attention. They offered guidance and compatible assistance to maintain my fords longevity. I would and do recommend Boca auto service. My husband (a believer in regular maintenance at dealer scheduling) is now considering taking his 2006 Dodge Charger R/T (yes it does have a Hemi) to Boca Auto service for future repairs and maintenance.
