Went in for wipers because we didnt think the ones we bought would work but instead of selling us $55 worth of wipers the guy was helpful and showed us that ours did work. So helpful and will definitely go back for other things just because of this

Save yourself time and a headache by avoiding this pep boys. Pep boys is usually great in general, just not this one. Long story short - I needed 4 tires back in January, they only had 2 and said they would call me when the other 2 came in. THREE MONTHS of phone tag and lies with these guys. I ended up going somewhere else to get the other 2 matching tires. Took the other place 1 day to get them after they ordered them. Saved myself $100 too. Avoid this pep boys.

Theyve officially lost my business. I tested their honesty with my last visit and they blatantly lie to swindle money for random repairs and dont even fix what is wrong.Youll be on a never ending cycle coming back for the same unresolved problem.Update as of 06/01/2021:Currently have an open case after emailing their pepsocial account. Lets see if they correct their mistakes instead of ripping off customers.

Great deal on tires. Made an appointment for 830am. No technician to install tires until 9. Wife waited 2.5 hrs to be completed with an alignment we didnt need but they sold her on it. Called Corp offices to complain spent 2 hrs on hold didnt talk to anyone. 👎👎👎 Customer service sucks.

Would never do business with this place, stopped in to ask if they can see why my check engine light was on and immediately the guy had a cocky attitude and told me $100, i asked isnt that a little pricey to just check the engine light, he must be on steroids because he went striaght into yelling and being utterly rude for no reason, if you see a man with tattoos down his arms and thinks hes something special steer clear he looked like he wanted to fight me, even went as far to ask me to step outside. Like lay off the roids bro, they shrink your manhood parts, if you dont like your minimum wage job then do something with yourself. Added photo so the company knows who threatened me. And for the safety of other people to not engage with this person unless you like being threatened.

Scam/Double Dip ... call it what you want! They will only install if you buy from them even if it is the exact item. They charge a SIGNIFICANT mark up on the item. So, can’t save money by buying it elsewhere and having them instal. Super expensive mark up!!!!!!

Here is my unsatisfactory experience at the Pep Boys located at 215 Boardman Poland Rd, Boardman, OH 44512 (Store ID#: 0263).I recently purchased a Tahoe from Carvana. Pep Boys is listed as one of a few in network mechanics covered under Carvana’s third party SilverRock Warranty. On February 28, 2021 I brought the vehicle in to store this shop for an inspection and communicated my concern about a “ticking” sound coming from the engine bay and that I suspected the lifters. The next day I was informed the vehicle was ready to be picked up and the only problem they found was a worn serpentine belt pulley that needed to be replaced, the lifters “looked fine”. I was told by an employee that they contacted SilverRock and that the pulley was considered “normal wear and tear” and was not covered under the warranty. I was charged $271.41 out of pocket for the inspection, parts, diagnostic, and labor. The “ticking” remained and 4 weeks later I lost compression in cylinder 1 and was unable to drive the vehicle.On March 31, 2021 I brought the vehicle back to Pep Boys and informed them of my previous visit and reminded them it was a Carvana vehicle. The mechanic ran the diagnostic, confirmed I had lost compression in cylinder 1, and informed me they cannot “do that kind of work”; they could not remove the cylinder head. This was confusing, how were they able to check the lifters during the first visit if they cannot remove the cylinder head? Again, I was informed the diagnostic was not covered under SilverRock’s warranty and I paid another $106.16 out of pocket and had to take the vehicle to another shop. Additionally, at each visit the VIN was recorded incorrectly (12345678912345678 on both invoices).After contacting a SilverRock representative I was informed that all of the work was in fact covered under their warranty and nobody from Pep Boys had ever called to make a claim. I have since submitted a formal complaint to Pep Boys corporate office and informed SilverRock and Carvana of Pep Boys deceptive practices. I believe it is irresponsible for this location to be listed as an in network shop for Carvana customers if they are not going to follow the warranty process with fidelity. I no longer trust the staff at this location and will no longer bring any of my vehicles there. If you have a Carvana vehicle, do not bring it to this location. Customer beware.

Bought 4 new tires. Had a problem with front passenger tire. It kept loosing air. Took car back three times and finally one of the mechanics located the problem. John the service manager was very kind and helpful. Never once refused to get it right. Third time was the charm. Thank you for caring and I would highly recommend PepBoys for your vehicle needs.

Daughters tire light was on and I told her to go to a place and get it checked. She called to make sure she could drop by & the male that answered the phone was extremely rude to her. We called the Firestone on Market Street in Youngstown and they were extremely friendly, helpful and were happy to have our business.Just a warning if your planning on going to this place....may want to go somewhere else.Shame on you for your treatment of customers. 👎🏼

OMG ! Every time I go here I leave with the wrong part . I gave them all the right info but I go in the evening and I get the same guy every time its the heavy set guy with glasses and one time I gave him the part numbers for five things and only two were right and he went back three times again before he had the right stuff. And then I wanted tires for my truck and the girl said they were discontinued thats Bull ! I went to firestone and yes they had them and no they were not discontinued. After that I no longer am going to go there at all and thats it .

Good service and quality work. I have replaced Cirestone with Pep Boys 100% of the time now. My only complaint is acquiring out of stock parts cause I am picky. They try hard to do it but it seems the other locations screw them over time and again when I get picky, but if you are just looking for standard stock parts and quality work these are your people.

They are crazy busy with the pandemic and short staff just like many businesses. After I thought I had an oil leak, they took the tome to inspect the car to make sure it was safe to drive. And let me know if I even fear that it might be leaking oil, bring it back!! They were awesome!!! Props to John who was the one who personally helped me.

No respect for appointments 👎🏻Asked me to come at 4:00pm. I arrived at 3:55pm and they said “the technician was left”. I had to reschedule. For your information, they asked me about the problem and in store they said they didn’t know what the problem was.

I recently stripped the anti-theft lug bolt key for my cars wheels, and called the store asking if they would be able to remove my lug bolts without the key, as I needed to get new tires mounted. In the days following, one of my tires got a flat, and I had to call a tow truck as I could not remove the anti theft bolt. The tow truck driver was quickly able to take it off and replace it with a non-locking bolt that I bought for my appointment. Being that I was buying the tires from a different seller online, I wanted to be positive that they could do this before shipping my tires there. The lady that I spoke to on the phone assured me that this would be no problem.When I came in for my appointment the following week, I re-explained the situation to the gentleman at the service desk. Im not sure what version of the story he heard, as he condescendingly asked me three times why I would put the locking bolts back on my wheels. After some more explanation that I had not taken the other three wheels off to change one of them, and as such there were three bolts remaining. I dont remember his name, but this happened on 5/27 at 1PM.He went off to explain the situation to the mechanics, and came back to ask me what socket the tow truck driver used to take them off. I told him that I thought it was a 12-point 13/16 socket, and he went back to relay the message. After about 2 more minutes, they decided they could not do the job, and that there wasnt a mechanic there that day. I took my tires with me, and wont be going back.

Went in and had a appointment then they say I did not have a appointment then said they could not get wheel off and told me I have a issue with my sway bar and front rack and pinion so I went to the dealer they checked it and said no issues did the tires brakes balance and alignment. Said there is no issues that I was told.

I went to Pep Boys for an oil change and front brakes. I asked for a price 1st. After an hr and a half, the woman at the front desk gave me an estimate for $1000.!!! She told me that both control arms on my Chevy Cobalt are going bad and need replaced; evidently this is common in Cobalts. The mechanic, who makes $125. an hr, is very thorough in checking the problems on your car. I realize what a great thing this is to troubleshoot your vehicle, BUT I think that Pep Boys should offer you this option before spending so much time on your car. I dont have $1000 right now so the information was no good to me really.I asked her to have them put my far back together which took another half hour (I believe thats when they actually changed the oil), and paid under $40 for the oil change which is very reasonable. I never did get a price on JUST replacing my rotors and so never got that done. They did tell me the brake pads are good but that I need rotors. So the trip was fairly unsatisfactory because I am still going to gave to get rotors...I have muxed feelings about the place. The information they give you can be very helpful but the long wait and the lack of attention to the repairs the customer actually asked for are extremely frustrating!!! The staff was very friendly and professional and they do offer coffee while you wait.

I have always had good experiences at this store. I find what I need and if I cant find it on my own, the staff helps me. They also dont treat me like I dont know anything because Im a woman. I have had that experience many times at other auto parts stores, but not at this store. They listen to what I ask for and give it to me without trying to convince me I need something else because they think I dont know what Im doing.

The manager of the Boardman location could not have been any more helpful, efficient and honest! The warranty company for my truck works with pep boys and this was my first experience with them. We had to get my truck towed to the shop and he let me know if their towing special with the pep boys card! The mechanics were fast and able to let me know what issues were going on with my truck. It happened to be the transmission, which they unfortunately were unable to fix.. but they referred me to an amazing shop to help me with the issues. I had to leave my truck there a couple days until I was able to get a ride out to go to the transmission shop and the manager kept my truck in a work bay to ensure it was kept safe. I can’t say enough to express how pleased I was with my experience. 10/5 stars from me!!

I have new faith in humanity, my windshield wipers broke and they were brand new I bought them off of Amazon. I went to Pep Boys in Boardman Ohio today it was 14 degrees out side and my wipers were broke. I had a new set in my trunk but no one to put them on. I went to Pep Boys and told them I wanted to buy another set of winter wiper blades and I also mentioned I had some in the car but I needed someone to put them on. The lady was so nice she said you dont have to buy any Ill get one of the boys to put your wipers on for you. That was so nice of her I will bring my business to this Pep Boys in Boardman Ohio again. Overall very good service in diagnosing and replacing a failed alternator. Unfortunately they didnt have a replacement in stock but did get one quickly from another location. Service tech Mike kept me well informed, apologised quickly for service/parts delays, and actively applied all possible discounts to the final bill.

I came in to buy a spare tire. I was helped by Jimmy...if you would call it help. He had very little knowledge of their stock. He claimed to have the tire I want available in stock. Then spent 20 mins on the computer to later tell me it was not available. Then tried searching for other tires and kept telling me to come back tomorrow instead, even though I made it clear I would like it today since I’m out of town. He kept rambling about other tires that would not work even after giving a list of 12 tire options I would like to use. He then processed to mention other location I could get my first choice tire but turn out they had closed with my time being in the store. After 45 mins I was finally able to leave with what I needed. Something I thought would take 15 mins tops was overly time consuming. Do not recommend.

Was quoted one price over the phone before the repairs were made when I got there there was an additional money added on to the total and the people in the service department need to work on their communication skills with the customers. And stop trying to make the customer the butt of their jokes.

This is the worst place I have ever been-- Completely rude, misogynistic, and unprofessional staff. I was there to get my tire changed. I told them very clearly that I wanted a new tire. The men treated me as if I knew nothing and decided that they would just patch the tire instead. I did not know this until AFTER I already waited over an hour for a new tire. Mind you, I already knew the tire was too damaged to be patched because someone else (obviously more reliable) had looked at it. I decided to just check out and leave anyway (If I did get it changed it definitely would not be at this location). Thats when I look at the receipt and it states that they had patched THE WRONG TIRE. I confronted them and they instantly became defensive. They insisted they had patched the correct tire... even though they did not know which tire that was. Im honestly not even sure if they actually did any work on the car at all. In less than a week, the tire began losing air and soon after left me high and dry with a flat. DO NOT GO HERE, ESPECIALLY I YOU ARE A WOMAN, because they will not respect you or fix your issue-- a complete waste of money.

Con-Story:Had a pre-schedule appointment early in the morning made a few days in advance. I got in and of course the gentlemen acted as if they had no idea I had an appointment so I was scheduled then. They did not get to my car until 4 and half hours AFTER they were supposed to look at it. The guy decided to discuss commission with his partner in front of me making it seem like the customer was more of a sheep then someone to genuinely help. I told the gentlemen I just wanted a diagnosis and see what they can do about the heat shield refastening. Of course the guy I was with had no clue on the pricing that but his partner just stated it would be free with no stipulations or accountability of any sort so I agreed to that, at first, as well. Before I left I DID make the mistake of telling them I think it may just be the fuel filter (commissioned individuals who care more about money then service will use this to their advantage) as they could use that to burn me or have any bias upon looking over my engine. Long story short, they found nothing wrong with my car, they said they will need to change my fuel filter, and said they would NOW need to charge me on the heat shield fastening with no accountability with what the gentlemen said earlier. They argued the fact about the heat shield and one gentleman was rude about the whole process, time frame, and VERY pushy for PAYMENT as soon as possible. No expert service here. More paranoid that more issues will arise out of nowhere on my car now, which is not how i should feel after spending 210 dollars or so on a diagnosis and fuel filter replacement and almost another 100 dollars on having someone else fasten my fuel filter (I ended up having to do myself for much cheaper, of course) I will do well to stick with individuals and other auto part service providers especially for future estimates and support. The first gentleman I was with shouldnt be at too much fault but the mistakes made by the other individuals in the business ruined my experience and my trust.Pros: Communication over the phone was good other than the rude individual I got swapped with over the phone.Final review: Considering I was warned ahead of time yet still went, I regret using Pep-boys. Look elsewhere for expert service, professionalism, trust, and courtesy when dealing with car repair and parts.

I was on the way to North Carolina for a vacation and my tire blew out on the turnpike. Its Sunday night, all the tire places are closed, and Im thinking my vacation is ruined. Pep boys were closing in 40 minutes, and I was about 10 minutes away. I get the spare on and pep boys receptionist tells me they will stay for me and get new tires on my car. They saved my vacation and went above and beyond to get me quickly back on the road. Thank you SO much pep boys!!!!!

The service guy came out to my car, explained all the packages and tire options and even pointed out that my brakes were bad while it was on the rack(but didnt pressure to buy, even let me see them instead of just telling me they were bad). I wanted to give a good rating because the worker who helped me was prompt and energetic, I should have known something was up.He helped me locate the proper electrical supplies I needed and quickly pointed out couplings, fuses and such that I needed. Problem was that he picked out a fuse that didnt fit the wired circuit he picked out. Seemed to kind of rush me even though he was polite and helpfulish. Would have taken back the fuse but for $3 Ill just eat the cost rather than try and argue over an opened item.Want to give a 3 star but just cant yet. Maybe my next visit will yield a better experienceUPDATE: I was contacted by someone from this store or corporate through their response and an email that asked me to write them what happened. Its right here in my review. How about you do something other than ask me to waste my time rewriting whats already here for everyone to see. Demoted to 1 star for asking me to do more work as a customer.

Ran over a loose bumper while driving on the highway back to DC. My Tire light went off a few minutes after running over the bumper. I pulled over the first tire place I could find and was fortunate to find this Pep boys. Within an hour they were able to examine my tire and diagnos the issue. Turns out I didn’t need a new tire or any repairs. They sent me on my way no charge! On top of it they were friendly people. Definitely recommend.

They need to please the customer better and they need to learn more about cars. Paid for a diagnostic test. They told me my alternator was good and my battery needed replaced. I purchased and replaced the battery. The next day, I broke down. It ended up being the alternator. Went back to Pep Boys wanted to return the new battery, get my old battery back along with the $114.00 I spent on the new one, and a refund on the diagnostic testing which is $20. All I received was a refund for the diagnostic with very poor management skills. Going to tell everyone I know to never go there.

What a joke!!! My daughter went in for a simple oil change and tire rotation. She had a appointment But that didnt matter because it took hours!! You told her she needed brakes but the price was ridiculous! ( come to find out you mark your parts up that you sell in the store twice as much when you get work done in service!) And to top it all off they never even tighted up her one wheel! She called and said that she had a bad vibration in her car so I told her to pull over and I would come. When I got there I found that her wheel was loose they never even tightened her Wheel up! My experience with this place they are a rip off its dangerous the place is a mess! After that experience I did some research on the company and come to find out they just got bought out! You will never see anyone in my family again!

Told me my MB C350 low beam blub change will cost $90....the guy was complaining​ about too much work to his colleague in front of the customers... I got the bulb for $12 from them, watched a YouTube video on how to do it..... Got it done in 10 mins, in their parking lot..Overall the guy was not very helpful and the money he said was unusually high, but the ladies working there were helpful and courteous.Have had similar experience before too.

DO NOT ORDER ONLINE or use Pep Boys in general.For starters, I ordered tires online and paid for them with a credit card on a Friday, get there Tuesday night for my appointment to some ass-hat lady who tells me, we had to cancel your appointment because we dont have that tire and that you phone number was incorrect.. my receipt with ALL my correct info shows my correct name, phone AND address haha. THEN, they blame their IT guy for not taking the tire off the website.... COME ON. So I wait and reorder a recommended tire. Fine. I saved some money - 15 minutes later I get a hey Craig, we can replace your tires its against our policy because your ball joints are bad. We can replace them for 400-some plus another 400-some labor and then we will put the new tires on. Yeah screw Pep Boys - Absolutely terrible.

I went in for a simple oil change. The service writer comes over to me 20 minutes later to tell me that my car needs fixed immediately because my ball joint is about to break. He told me that if I take my car on the freeway, there was a good chance I would wreck and that the repair was about $600. Being I hadnt heard any noises coming from my front end prior to bringing it in, I was a little suspicious about this diagnosis so I turned down their requested services. The next day, I took it to my regular mechanic who said that I still had a good 30,000 miles before I would run into any issues. Moral of the story - it was quite obvious Pep Boys was trying to take advantage of a young girl by trying to scare her into an unnecessary repair. I will never go back to that store and suggest that anyone reading this stays away too.

I ended up with a nail in my tire on a Sunday afternoon. I could hear the air coming out of my tire, and my pressure gauge was dropping. I made it to Pep Boys and explained the situation and that my car is not currently safe to drive. The man at the service counter seemed annoyed that I even came in and told me to go to Firestone because he was too busy to help me. I even told him I didnt mind waiting or could get a ride and come back. I got my tires from here initially, and they should be covered under warranty...but since your own employees have no interest in helping someone, are fine with me driving in a vehicle that currently isnt safe, and recommend I go to a competitor, you can keep your warranty. I will gladly pay Firestone for the repair, and I will take all my business to them in the future. They, by the way, were also very busy. However, they were incredibly friendly and did everything they could to help me.

Took my truck in because I heard what sounded like some grinding in the rear of the vehicle, PEP BOYS call me an hour later and says its my front brakes I need new rotors and pads. Bill came to $552 with an oil change. Receipt indicated the 2 studs were broken and replaced on the rear wheels. The next day, my brakes are going to the floor and I have 2 brake lights on. I check the brake fluid and it was very low; I took the vehicle back 2 days later and they indicate that both of my rear cylinders are cracked and leaking brake fluid. I spoke with the repairman John several time during the next 8 days my truck sat in their lot. Finally on the 8th day I spoke to the manager and he said that after brake jobs when the caliper is pushed back it can create additional pressure and crack the rear seals! His only proposal is that they would fix it, but i would still have to pay the entire cost of repairing a problem that was creating by them. Very unprofessional staff, no concept of customer service. By the way I spent $592 on 4 tires for my mustang the day I dropped the truck back off to be looked at! They do not take care of their customers! Buyer Beware!

Towed my car over here, trying to charge me 499 for a starter. When I asked why 499 guy said its pep boyz pricing. Called pep boys at Niles they said the price was $247. Then I called them with Niles pricing and they matched the price. If it is the pep boys it should have same pricing.

Asked them to look at my exhaust...told me 1 hr. 3 hrs later ..they call & upon my return...I am told a wheel bearing was bad ..And informed me..they really dont do exhausts!!..So..why take the car in.?????.....Sleazy way to do business ..Watch out...way over priced on lots of other service & often recommend work not needed..based on prior visit experience.IMO...these minions are under loads of pressure from the higher ups..to push unnecessary goods/services..Stay Away!!

They take advantage of women who dont know anything about cars......my aunt had a front end knock after bordman pep boys did suspension work for her. They told her she needed new front wheel bearings and axles. After I looked at it for her the front end knock was due to a sway bar end link that they didnt tighten and it was knocking against the frame of the car. Pep boys knew what the problem was, they just wanted to squeeze a few more dollars out of her...sad

Awful experience. Called the day prior and set up an appointment to have my battery/starter looked at. I got it towed there. The next day I called at noon to see when the car would be done, here they never actually set the account up even though I called before I even had it towed. I let it go, accidents happen. The guy I talked to said he would call me in an hour to let me know how long it would be. 2 hours go by with no call so I called them to see if I should just get a rental due to the mix up. No big deal, except the guy started literally screaming at me over the phone. I was astonished, I had to cut him off and tell him I wasn’t trying to rush him at all I was I just seeing if it would be easier to get a rental. I am honestly so disgusted. And worse yet it was an older gentleman(at least that’s what it sounded like) who yelled at me. It was so disrespectful. I was so disgusted I sent my husband to go get the car because if he could yell at me over the phone lord knows what he would have done in person. I don’t care what kind of bind I’m in I will never take my car to another Pep Boys ever again.

I took my wifes car in a couple of weeks ago to get a screw taken out of a tire and plugged. I waited an hour and a half (they gave me a partial credit on my bill for the wait ) and saw the next day that they never took the screw out! It was still in the tire!! I went back that day and thanked them for lying to me and demanded the rest of my money back! I will NEVER go back there again!!!!
