Jim at Midwest Auto is truly amazing! They have gone above and beyond all of our expectations in helping us with our sons 2007 Mitsubishi Raider. Everything from known repairs to going out of their way to help us diagnose and recommend solutions to keep our sons vehicle on the road. Very unprofessional. Hung up on me. Got upset that I chose to repair my own vehicle after diagnosis was done. I took it to them for the air conditioner. They told me my condenser low speed fan was not working. I opted to replace it my self. He also lied about price of parts to repair the fan. Told me after I replaced it if there was a problem to bring it back in and they would take the next steps in diagnosing and fixing the problem. After I returned with the car he said a fuse had blown and it was fixed. It wasn’t 100% due to age and ware on the a/c compressor. But it was working properly. When I left it was still blowing warm when driving. The problem was never fixed nor did they drive it to see if it was still had the same issue. After I called back he then explain that the compressor would need to be replaced. When I asked why he never told me this to begin with? He told me it was Friday and didn’t want to deal with it and hung up on me. There quality of work and customer service is well below par. I will never be returning to this shop and do not recommend that you go there for any reason. Do not waste your time and money. I would leave a zero star review if I could.

Been going here for quite some time. My experiences there have always been great. The prices are reasonable compared to other shops or to buying the parts separately. The work has always been quality and if ive ever had an issue with a repair (which I havent) theyve always been clear that they will double check their work and fix anything that was wrong with the work. They have always been friendly and open about work they would be doing and explaining in detail if I was confused. They also tell you when something isnt really within their expertise which to me, is huge because no one wants a half finished job, like body work. Couldnt recommend them enough.

I was a mess when my car started heavily smoking. I had my car towed to a repair shop that did engine repair, only to be told that I would need a new engine and that they dont work on European cars. I found midwest auto services on Google. They had great reviews and they are very knowledgeable with European vehicles. I told them I was advised I would need a new engine from the other shop and they started looking for it. Once they got the car in and checked it out, Brian called me with the best news ever. I did not need a new engine, but a new turbo (which is tremendously less cost wise). He was honest with me and so knowledgeable. He explained how the turbo works and how the oil leaked from the engine to the exhaust system. They were very fast with the repairs and had me back on the road within a week and a half. I also did my own research and paid about 500.00 less than the average cost of turbo repairs. I would highly recommend them to everyone. Great customer service and very thorough, quality work. I will continue taking my business there. You guys are Amazing👏.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I went in to have them fix my 4wd problem. Once they realized that it was a different problem I told them I would do it myself and next thing I know I’m on 1-70 and my brakes no longer work. I had later found out they removed my brake booster check valve cover to stop it from working after asking me if I would like my brakes worked on. Definitely not going here again. They put a brand new driver on the road with no brakes because I told them not to fix something they wanted to fix.

I have gone here before and had not had a problem till my most recent visit. It was not made clear that pricing was just for testing not actual repairs so when I went to pick up the vehicle, things were still wrong. So I took my vehicle to someone else who has gotten everything repaired for $300 instead of the $1600 that they were started quoting at to fix everything. Also this person found that some repairs we had made earlier either were never done or were done very poorly because the issues were back and worse (supposedly the coolant reservoir had been leaking and we had paid to replace it but it was definitely leaking now, and that was just a few months ago). I will say that they did repair the motors on my windows correctly and Ive had no issues. Just make sure you know exactly what they are quoting you to fix and get it in writing.

Wow! Midwest Auto Services is two-for-two in our family. Our first experience was getting my grandsons car back on the road after hitting a curb and doing some serious damage to the front end. The repairs were completed as promised and at a reasonable price. My son, who paid the bill, and my grandson were both pleased with the results.After reading many great reviews, I decided to also give them a try for a routine oil change, and finding and fixing three pesky fluid leaks on my trusty Dodge Dakota - engine oil, a pink fluid on the garage floor, and rear differential oil. They located and fixed all three leaks - valve cover gaskets, coolant hose and pinion seal, respectively. I was advised as each leak was diagnosed and given an accurate price to fix each problem. Again, reasonable prices. I had a previous estimate on replacing the pinion seal. Midwest beat the price by a significant amount and did not take the entire rear end off the truck to do the repair, as a previous shop had said was necessary.I will be back. Thanks guys!

I can honestly say this shop is the best! Not only fixed everything right the first time but for a really good price. We have to take our hat off to Jim! He thoroughly explained what we needed, why we needed it, and all potential outcomes- both good and bad. Even was upfront that the fix he was recommending MAY not resolve the issue. Knowing this ahead of time allowed us to make the decision whether to proceed or not. Luckily, their diagnoses was spot on! And they even fixed the latch of our back door which was the cherry on top! In this day and age, this level of service is not easy to come by so it’s very appreciated. We will absolutely be returning whenever needed and would recommend to anyone who values great customer service!

Took my car for a pre purchase inspection during November 2019. Very pleasant experience. Although I arrived an hour earlier than my scheduled appointment , they were able to squeeze me in early and did a pretty thorough inspection at a very reasonable price.

They replaced my battery. I had a very good experience. They gave me an accurate wait time estimate. Once they looked at my car, they got it working very quickly.

Wonderful service! I emailed them late last night about scheduling an appointment for today not realizing they are only open from 8-12 on saturdays. I come from a very small town, where small business owners are the friendliest, most accommodating people around. Needless to say, I was amazed at the great service I received here. I called Jim with a concern about my truck and he said they were booked solid for the next week. He then volunteered a few minutes of his time to drive my truck around and see what he could figure out. Jim knew right away what the problem was, and he and his staff had my truck fixed within 24 hours! The rate was more than reasonable and Midwest Auto Services has my business from now on. Excellent service, couldnt be more pleased. I went in Thursday to have my passenger side window fixed, it was a simple fix and I was thrilled!! I saw that they also do A/Cs so I made an appointment for Saturday to have it checked and refilled. Brian assured me that if there was something else wrong wed discuss it from there. So I went in on Saturday and they took a look, it had a small leak, they replaced a valve and refilled the Freon. These may be considered simple fixes, and you’d be correct. But what really impressed me and why they have a “new” customer in me is that they could have said it was worse.They could have said I needed to replace the window completely, they could have said I needed a new motor. The same with the A/C he could have told me I needed to replace the whole line or there were other issues. Instead it was a simple valve, a quick fix and I was happy. I saw how he handled other customers even one’s who had much more major work that needed to be done, going over what needed to be done now and what could wait and how long. I talked with another customer waiting on his car, he said the same thing he feels they’re honest and do excellent work.

Midwest did a great job on the front end alignment of my 91 Chevy K1500. I have never had good luck with alignments on this truck. Also, I have always been leery of alignments because I didn’t feel comfortable with someone else driving my vehicles. Midwest explained why they drive the cars before and after, and indicated that if I didn’t want them to drive mine, they would be ok with it, but they couldn’t guarantee it. However, their explanation of why they test drove cars made sense and sure enough, after they drove it, they had to make more adjustments after the initial alignment.I have been driving the truck daily since the alignment and it drives better than it has in a long time. I will be bringing my other vehicles to them for alignments when they need them.

These guys are awesome. They are professional to the core, and their work is great. Yeah sometimes you get bad news: I blew a head gasket, and no one wants to hear that! However, I know I can trust these men. They have integrity that is not always found in this profession, and it wasnt their fault my car needed an expensive repair.They were very accommodating to our schedule: we had a family road trip coming up and needed our car back fast. They were able to repair it and get it back to us before we had to go on our trip. We always receive clear explanation of work, and they have good estimates before the work is started. They are knowledgeable enough to explain problems even to me (a non-car guy) and my wife never feels talked down to like she has at some other places.Their workmanship is quality, and they work with customer satisfaction in mind. The last visit I dropped off the car and they fell behind. Realizing they couldnt complete the repair if they started so late and knowing I wanted it back that day, they owned their mistake and called to apologize and reschedule. Just an all around great shop! I recommend it to anyone looking for a Mechanic in the area.

The two gentlemen that run this little shop are truly good mechanics. They have never once mistreated anyone of my family that go there. They certainly take the time out of their day just to answer questions when you call in to ask and try to give as accurate an answer as they can in those circumstances. They are always super busy so plan on makibg an appointment, drop offs I dont imagine get squeezed in very quickly, they are that busy.

I had a mechanical emergency while travelling on 7 highway. I broke a U-joint and my driveshaft fell out, getting damaged as well. I just got lucky enough to coast my truck into their lot. No appointment. No phone call. At 3:30pm. They were very busy and by no means obligated to help me. But they made the time and went out of their way to help me out. They got me fixed-up and back on my journey quickly, efficiently, and affordably. Remarkable service!! Thanks guys!! Youre a blessing!!

Would highly recommend, even if you live outside of Blue Springs. After multiple issues with other shops, these guys have absolutely become my trusted mechanics.Story time:When I used to live in Blue Springs, I woke up one morning to go to work and found my clutch was dead. Took it to a nearby shop and left after repairs with the check engine light still on. Thinking they just forgot to turn it off, I didnt bother to take it back. Car died later that week. Dropped off my car here before leaving to go on a week-long vacation. Turned out that several wires were ripped out, undoubtedly by the previous shop who either neglected to fix their mistake or did this on purpose. Either way, negligence on their part for giving me my car back with the light on and damage that they caused. What really garnered my trust, though, was that the guys at Midwest Auto didnt throw the other shop under the bus. They simply gave me the facts that the cables were torn out and were literally right next to the previous repairs, then allowed me to make my own conclusions. They fixed the damage and were even great about the fact that I would be out of the state for a week.Fast forward to now where I no longer live in Blue Springs. Needed an inspection so I took my car to a nearby chain (Firestone iirc?) who held my car for a full day. They wanted $1.2k in repairs to pass. When questioned on some of the things, the mechanic tried to point them out on some inspection guideline sheet only to not be able to find them and simply said Well, its not here but we still cant pass the inspection unless its fixed. I took my car back, replaced some lights myself, and decided to drive the 40 minutes to Midwest Auto for a second opinion. Not only did they not demand numerous unnecessary repairs, but my inspection and a quick bulb replacement took under an hour and cost less than $30. Looking at the invoice, the chain shop wanted to charge twice as much for both parts AND labor, even for the bulbs.$1.2k vs $30, just for passing an inspection. Midwest Auto has sealed the deal as my new go-to mechanic, the trip is worth it.

I had a major fix done at Midwest. They replaced my clutch and flywheel. It’s taken me years to find a place I can trust but, finally, I found one. They let me know every single step of the way what was going on. They gave me options and a game plan. They didn’t oversell repair but they let me choose the path I wanted to take with the issues I was having. I was pleasantly surprised with this place. With such a great job on this huge repair, I definitely trust them to take care of any car needs I have in the future.If you are particular about who is taking care of your vehicle, trust these guys. Plus, they have a fenced in lot with cameras to make sure your car is safe at night. I’d give them 10 stars if I could.

This a tremendously reputable enterprise. I was extremely impressed with Jim. He is an excellent mechanic with an outstanding customer service approach throughout the work he does. Calls to give updates and thoroughly explains what he is going to do and updates you on progress. I took a 1969 Camaro to him with engine issues. He analyzed the problem, identified needs and communicated them in a way I could understand. The final result was outstanding. The entire business enterprise and I recommend them to everyone!!!

The 1st time I went to Midwest I was having problems with my brakes. they took a look at them and told me that I needed them but I should wait because they werent that bad. I was nice for them to be honest with me because any other shop would have just gone ahead and did the work just to get the money. there is no other place I will take my cars to and have repairs and I will highly recommend Midwest auto to anyone I know

I called several places in the metro to have a limo worked on. Midwest was one of the few willing to work on it. Id never been here before but brought my limo in. We discussed some things I wanted addressed and they said they could take care of everything I wanted done. Not only did they fix what they said they would they also helped fix the lighting in the back of the car and a few other details. Jim was so friendly and took the time to explain exactly what needed to be done. As busy as he was, he managed to squeeze us in. The prices were extremely reasonable, and the work is done very well. The interior of the shop was clean and comfortable. Overall would definitely recommend.

Took my daughters 2003 Chevy Cavalier in for some significant work. It took some time to diagnose - I believe literally putting a stethoscope to the engine to try to find where the noise was coming from. It was finally discovered that the real problem was something completely different than originally thought. During the repair the shop managed to make a mistake; the day we got it back the car died again and needed to be towed back. When the mistake was discovered, it would have been easy for them to take advantage of my situation. But Jim didnt cover it up, didnt try to talk his way out of it or attribute it to something else. He was straight with me, owned the whole thing fixing it for no charge, even offering me one of his personal vehicles should transportation be a problem since we are an active family and down a car. This is an honest shop and extremely knowledgeable; they operate with integrity and offer excellent customer service. They were sensitive to my concerns regarding potential cost and helped my cost/benefit analysis in weighing whether to fix the car or junk it and walk away. My experience here is exactly how I want to be treated; by making a mistake they had a real opportunity to win me back by how they handled it. It worked - I will keep coming back. Just spend a few minutes in their waiting area and see how they treat all their customers. My experience might have been great, but not at all unusual. Thanks guys!

My car recently hit 100,000 miles- I took my Honda Accord into another place where they had an extremely large estimate of what would need to be done, very pricey! I took it to Midwest instead and they had my car fixed quickly and almost $200 less. The guys at Midwest were friendly, honest and very helpful! My parents and I will keep taking our cars into Midwest- I speak highly of their work!

I recently heard that Fleming Auto Center had new owners. At first this put me off since I had been going there for most of my repairs for the last few years and was happy with their service. I needed an alignment and some AC work and called Calverts, Midas, and Firestone first. Then I came across a Google ad offering a discount on both the AC and alignment, so I decided to try them out.I met Jim and Brian and recognized them both from a dealer I used to go to and found out that they are the new owners. I was also happy to see that David was still there since he had been there as long as I can remember. David said the first month with the new owners had been the best time hes had there in years and was really happy with the change. It looks like they cleaned up the waiting area and put in a nice TV that I was able to play Netflix on, so waiting isnt much of an unpleasant experience anymore. As for the work, the alignment is great and the AC blows cold. The price with the discount was better than most places I called. Congrats Jim and Brian! Im glad I found you.

Wow! Jim and Dan at Midwest Auto Services are my go-to guys for anything automotive. I had a squirrelly issue with a PT Cruiser I had recently purchased, as is. Their techs hunted down the problem like pit bulls and got it resolved. It took three return trips, a couple of them because of faulty aftermarket replacement parts. But when the got it right, they did it with authority. I TRUST these guys, and you cant always say that about auto repair shops. They are up front about everything they are going to do. The PT is running like factory fresh, maybe better. Midwest Auto Services should be your first choice for auto repairs of any kind. I enthusiastically recommend them to friends and family for all their automotive repair or service. They do it all!

The best shop in town! really the people who only gave one star have no idea what they are talking about! Midwest has honest people who only want to help you and truly care. they are honest and give honest work in return. I took my 2002 Impala there for routine work and they explained everything for a reasonable price, and ever since have had my continued service! Trust me these guys are the ones who dont beat around the bush, and want to get things fixed right the first time. I recommend to everyone!

I was recently traveling from Ohio to Denver when my vehicle lost its clutch. I was on a tight schedule and needed to be at my destination in 48 hrs. The guys at Midwest could have taken advantage of me or just blown me off; instead they made me a priority, had my vehicle in a bay getting worked on and had me on the road within 26 hrs. Replacing a clutch is a fairly time consuming job, its not like they popped in an alternator. Not only did they do the work promptly and competently, they had somebody drive me to a hotel and pick me up when it was ready. And their price was very competitive too. Everyone I dealt with including Jim and Ken were incredibly friendly, professional and competent. I cant say enough good things about them. If I was a local they would have a customer for life.

Quality you can trust.These guys are competent and experienced. I’ve had service there twice now and each time has been a good experience. I suspected a bad oil change from a franchise drive-thru quick oil change place. I brought my car in to Midwest Auto and explained some of the things I was noticing and they assured me they would check it out.As they were servicing the car (with a new oil change just to be sure), the technician in the lobby took the time to explain a bit about oil and oil weights to me. He was informative and the knowledge he shared assisted me in getting a refund at the place that did not give me the oil that I had paid for.These guys are friendly, the lobby is clean, the service has always been done at a fair price without much wait. I believe these guys are honest and you can tell they are good people. I will continue to do business with them, including oil changes, from now on.

I have taken my cars here for the past 4 years and have been satisfied with the workmanship, and fairly satisfied with the pricing until recently. I purchased a car for my son and wanted it checked out. I received a call from Jim stating that there was a $1000 worth of work needed on the vehicle. I decided to compare pricing by another shop and had the same inspection done only to be told that only 2 things needed immediate attention which cost $240 as opposed to the $1000 quoted by Midwest. Now I feel like they were trying to RIP me off! Ive been a loyal customer and expected more from them. I would have given ONE star, but I thought they were great up until this point.. 🤔🙄🤨

Arrived at 0900 for a car inspection. They said hour to an hour and a half to get it done. Waited for an hour and a half and my vehicle hadnt even been touched. I spoke to a Jim and asked a time frame when they were going to get to it and he was extremely rude and inconsiderate. He wouldnt answer my question, just argued stating they would get to it when they felt like it and didnt have to explain anything to me when all I wanted was a simple time frame on when it would get done. The whole experience was horrible. They are definitely NOT consumer oriented and I wouldnt recommend this auto shop!!

If your looking for honest, trustworthy people to work on your cars this is the place to go. They treat you like a person not a number. Everyone is very friendly and will tell you up front what needs to be done before they do it. They wont sell you something you dont need. Great people. We have had several things worked on here, and everything is always done very well!!

We take all three of our vehicles to Midwest, including our classic. We have never felt cheated or mislead. Jim has given us valuable advice and help with our baby. I wouldnt trust her with any other shop. Best guys around.

I had a friend recommend Brian at Midwest Auto to work on my 1991 Porsche 911 brakes. They did a outstanding job! That was about a year now. Since then I have had them trouble shoot and fix a electrical problem, A/C Problem and a idle issue. They called and kept me updated and gave me options! Very professional and reasonable prices.They wont try to sell you something you dont need, and they are very honest!Great group of guys.Thanks MidWest Auto.

These guys know their stuff and are extremely trustworthy, honest, friendly, and helpful -- above and beyond anywhere Ive ever gone! Ive been going here for many years (since they were Fleming Automotive) and would take my vehicles nowhere else. Dave is the glue that holds the place together and is an outstanding human being. Very impressed with the professionalism and courtesy exhibited by the owners and staff at MWA. A perfect storm of events happened last week with my Grand Prix, which caused multiple components to fail - initially stumping the best of their experienced employees. They kept me in the loop the entire time they had my car and worked with me to keep the costs at a minimum. I highly recommend them and will be a returning customer.Ps. The staff at Midwest Auto service is outstanding they will go out of there way to make sure things are right the first time. They go over the work that needs to be done before they do it so you know what to expect. Ive never had a problem from them.

My wife loves this place for am oil change. I had an appt once and still waited an hour for mine. Nice people that seem trustworthy but my first experience could have been better.

Best shop in the metro. Excellent service, honest, and they take a minute to explain and answer your questions. They always try to squeeze you in or will make an appt to fit your schedule. During a normal oil change on an Audi (yes they can do import cars also) they found a small leak in a hose that was about to be a problem. They took pictures so I could easily point it out to the dealership so they could do the warranty work to fix it. They also did my Honda hi mileage maintenance for a fraction of what Honda wanted and had it done in a couple of hours. They also are kid friendly as they can be while you wait and clean restrooms during your visit. A++++

I have a Hyundai Accent that was intermittently experiencing some engine “hesitation” or “stuttering”(best way I can explain it), but it did not happen all the time and was hard to replicate. I took it to the Hyundai dealership, thinking that they would have greater expertise to deal with a problem like this. After taking it to them 3 times, they were still unable to fix it, and I was getting really frustrated. My co-workers suggested that I give Midwest Auto Services a try, and I am truly glad that I took their advice! Although Jim was also not able to replicate the behavior, he had a theory about what was causing the problem (a minor oil leak around one of the spark plugs) and IT WORKED! The issue has not re-occurred, and it is obvious when driving that the vehicle has much more responsiveness and “pep”. So I am really grateful that this problem has been taken care of, and Midwest Auto Services has certainly won me as a new customer. Jim and Dan were both totally professional, proficient, and polite. Their price was reasonable, and they completed the work in a timely manner. I cannot recommend them highly enough, and I look forward to having them work on all of my vehicles in the future.

These are good people. Lets face it car repairs suck and can elicit a bad attitude. But even when the quoted price is hard to hear and seems irritating they have consistently come in at or below the price they quote me. Like today I paid $8 less than they quoted me. May not seem like a lot to some but to me thats a big deal. So I have been a regular for a few years now and will continue to be. Also they have helped me with rides to and from/pick ups when my kids were at home. Like I said, good people.

Front tires and alignment. Got me in on a Saturday morning. Fair price, great service. Ill go back again next time I need a repair.
