Stopped in the store yesterday (03/25/21) to recycle oil and noticed two jugs of oil on sale (really good value, $7.49 or $7.99 for a 5 qt), obviously house brand and possibly being discontinued. But great oil for an older truck etc.While waiting in line, two other persons were ahead of me. Two store employees that I saw also there. The employee was assisting the first customer with looking up some parts and almost every reply from the employee was like a robot reading a script that it is not in stock and he could order it from the warehouse etc. This went on for maybe 3-4 minutes, the customer remarked not to worry about it, thanked him and left.The next customer wanted some parts for I believe it was a 1997 Toyota something with a 2.7L engine. He needed fuel injectors, valve cover gasket, spark plug grommets/seals and plug wires. While this is going on, employee #2 leaves from beside employee #1, looks at the growing line of customers (3 of us now) and with head down shuffles back down from behind the counter to some product needing stocked.While the customer is getting quotes on prices, the fuel injectors the price hes told doesnt match up with what he believed he saw on the Advance Auto web site. Employee #1 returns to the list and also notes a reman injector so they go back and forth for a bit on new vs reman etc and then in the robot scripted voice is told its not in stock...order from the warehouse...here saturday.I look around to see where employee #2 has skirted off to and see him in the oil isle, peeking over from time to time at the line.We move past the fuel injectors after several minutes of basically going no where and onto the valve cover gasket, does it come with the spark plug gaskets or not (not familiar with that engine so it must be plugs thru the valve cover. They go round and round on material, no its not in stock bah, bah bah have to order it...saturday etc. Then looking at spark plug gaskets, which were $22 extra so theres several minutes of back and forth no in stock, the price and they should be included etc.I looked at my phone (clock) and turned to the customer behind me, remarked this could be a long while which he smiled and nodded.Several more minutes pass and they move on to spark plug wires...I believe by this point of constantly hearing the ...have to order it from the warehouse...have it by friday, have it by saturday...etc and the customer asking if it could ship to the Grain Valley store as its closer.Finally after what I have made an educated guess to be 16-18 minutes of nothing really happening and evaluating the value of my time and the savings for those two jugs of clearance oil, I realized I have just waisted at least 16-18 minutes of my life waiting for one employee helping a customer while the other employee ducked and covered.Needless to say Advance Auto Parts has failed me and the other customers waiting in line.Now I will say this, Im not going to stop buying auto parts from them because I Stopped doing that a long time ago (Thanks ROCK AUTO.COM),I put the oil back and quietly left.Afterward I thought I should had told the customer at the counter about RockAuto.com, the huge price savings , quick shipping and having EVERYTHING in stock from several vendors, but I didnt, should have, but I didnt.One thing I hope Advance Auto Parts does in the future, if for some reason the #2nd employee wasnt trained on a register or something...maybe have one of the two employees briefly let us know ...Im sorry, I dont have access to the register/check out or something similar.Really sad when I witnessed two customers ahead of me looking for parts and both being told everything they needed had to be sent from the warehouse, or other store, or other mysterious place... what an inept business model. I had that happen to me a few times and hadnt tried to buy another auto part since from them.

Only place I really go anymore, good advice and good help finding what you need even if it requires calling manufactures of the parts you need to find something special. This is the place for me, come join and earn rewards towards more parts, it pays to spend money here...

Boy, do we love to see customers roll up 15 minutes before closing time with a shopping list of car issues, said no auto parts sales staff ever. Never. That was the unfortunate scenario when I visited Advance Auto Parts on 7 Hwy a couple of weeks ago. The two sales associates were respectful, knew their inventory and helped guide me in the best direction matching my meager budget. They even made me laugh a couple of times and put me at ease. These men were just a couple of years out of school, working hard all day and Im sure had friends texting or Snap Chatting them about the Saturday night events they were missing. They impressed me beyond imagination with their patience and compassion and attention in listening to my issues and had not only solutions but options. Guys, you restored my faith in mankind and the generation you represent. You will go far in this world, one satisfied customer at a time, one day at a time. Thank you for being there, and I will see you earlier in the workday next time out of sheer respect for your busy lives and those lucky enough to be your families and friends who wait for you at the end of the day. Didnt jot down your names but I wish I had. Advanced Auto, these young men were great hires and represent your company beautifully in a tough, competitive industry. Winning!

One of the employees named Matt helped me figure out what battery to grab, was very helpful and gave me honest advice on which battery on what budget. Helped me install and also located an issue with a bearing on the engine. Awesome down to earth dude!

They have a handicap parking handicap ramp but no handicap door. You would think they would go hand-in-hand. That youre getting to be like all major chains of Automotive their high-priced. Some things are cheaper and some things are higher. You better call me if youre looking for something because they may not have it every story is different

Very knowledgeable staff. Out of all the auto parts store in town, I only go here for my parts. Also very handy that they still lend an OBD II reader for free, so they can help you check out exactly what that engine light really means.

Read other reviews... problems are usually relative to which employees are working - just like most businesses.I generally find them helpful and courteous with one exception (I just avoid him). It can be difficult for a female who turns wrenches to get respect and a non- condescending attitude. I have developed a bit of a relationship with certain employees here and at other similar stores. At a competitor nearby, I nearly came to blows after being talked down to about battery terminals, so I usually go to Advance first.The old axiom Good help is hard to find seems especially applicable to auto parts stores. As with ALL specialty stores, I try to keep in mind a lot of people have areas in which they have more expertise, but I wont be disrespected.

Went in for a part, which I wasnt positive if that was what was needed for my vehicle. Before purchasing an expensive kit, a gentleman offered his assistance and recommended a cheaper solution to my vehicles current problem. He was very knowledgeable, kind, and sincere. Great experience overall.

Worst auto parts store ever.Terrible employees.Locked door on my daughter before closing time when she needed to exchange her breaks. We then called and the clerk was extremely rude and hung up on my daughter.We have spent alot of money there over the years but will never go back.

I will never shop at advance Auto again. Ive been a mechanic for 20+ years. Last week I went in and spent over 700$ in parts made 3 trips back due to wrong parts the last trip was to get the correct brake pads for the front I arrived 2 min before they closed and when I asked about exchanging them for the correct ones they told me they was closed I told them they gave me the wrong ones and their sign said they was still open and all they had to say was I dont know what to tell you except come back tomorrow and shut the door in my face. They have cost me too much money over the years in wasted time and gas due to their incompetence. I highly recommend everyone take their business to AutoZone or Napa.

Wish I could give 0!! Came in on this lovely 96° day to get some Freon. Noticed an employee outside appearing to help a friend or possibly customer install a stereo system (totally did not know advance offers this free service!! LOL) Went inside to discover no employees but could hear one on the phone somewhere in back. Waited for about 6 min just standing there observing the store. Somewhere about halfway into that another customer came in and stood at the counter as well. When the employee finally emerged from the back he went directly to the guy at the counter and started helping him, acting as if we did not exist. Did not ask who was here first and the customer in front of him had no tact as well and did not mention that we had been there waiting when he came in. I interrupted their conversation and asked if there were any other employees since we had been waiting since before the customer he was helping came in. Not even a simple damn sorry!!!! Just nope the other guy is outside. So I let him know that he should have asked who was waiting there first and left to AUTOZONE down the street. Out entire trip on autozone from beginning to end took less time than we waited inside of advanced for terrible service! LEARN CUSTOMER SERVICE PEOPLE!!!!!

So I had to make a return. There was no customers in the store at the time. I happen to have my 20lb dog with me. Its 90 degrees outside, and it was raining. My truck has no ac so it is hot! I tried to take my dog in with me and as soon as I went in... I was told THEY cant have a dog in here. I said I was only making a return and I had not planned on putting him down. They rudely said...we still cant have a dog in here.The thing is.....I had just come from Oriellys and when I took my dog in with me, every employee there was nice to me. All I had was a return there also. I was in Oriellys longer because they were all talking to my dog. I was in Advance auto a total of 5 minutes. One of the employees at Advance Auto (Matt) was the only one that understood my situation. I was not shopping or I would not have taken my dog in as that could have taken longer. I appreciated Matt for his compassion. There are NO signs posted saying u cant bring your dog. I will NEVER EVER go there again. Advance Auto 306 South 7 Highway, Blie Springs,MO 64014.

In the past I have purchased al of my parts at Advance Auto Parts. I am building a street rod and will purchase many many parts. I went to Advance Auto Parts..3 guys leaning on counter I ask Randy for a brake line but needed one longer than the 10 inch one I had..says there are hundreds and he does not have the time to help me...I past up 2 other parts stores to get to Advance Auto..went to Auto Zone and they were glad to help me took all of 10 minutes, will never use Advance Auto Parts again..Lazy employees.

Most terrible experience Ive ever had and I javelin swing a wrench for GM since 99 I ask for a v belt Roger who claims his last name is C Refuses to search for a v belt A simple V Belt says there are to many ro look thru I asked for 30 inches he says no I am so dipping ed in advance auto who I do business and have a company account with will no longer c me thanks Roger u r moving up stay lazy bro

As a former employee for this company, Ive seen and worked in a half dozen locations. The Blue Springs advance has gone downhill in customer service since I left 6 months ago.I see new staff floating around, but they never greet customers, and you have to wait at the counter and holler for help. I started buying my parts at Napa up at the north end of Blue Springs.
