I love coming to this store exclusively to buy Pokemon Card Singles. Their prices are generally always fair and the staff are always welcoming, nice, and seem to enjoy helping you with what you need. Prices for Elite Trainer Boxes and Tins seem to be a bit too price gouged for me however. considering other prices I have seen for them. Also, expect long wait times if there are other people in the store.

This store is amazing. While they dont have all board games available, they can order almost any board game available. Plus they do have a large selection of mtg card singles available.

This is the single greatest store I have ever been in. The selection of tabletop games is out of this world. Pair that with the staff that is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I didnt want to leave. Great place for anyone who is new to the hobby and anyone who has an extensive collection like mine. Couldnt ask for better.

First gaming store Ive been to since covid hit. I would totally go back, sadly I am just visiting a friend for their wedding. Any time I come to this area again I am going back there! Nice selection of all different games as well as good section of minis and dice.

Red Raccoon is a local game store. They have huge selection! Everything is well organized. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. They have a gaming room in the back and tons of tables downstairs. They have a variety of paints and figures. Very pleasant experience. They have puzzles!

Denied service. We were already inside. My child and I can not wear a mask. Denied service even to redeem my childs reading program reward! No apology or empathy from the employees. My child cried as we went outside. Management will be hearing from me. Previously I was able to come with siblings and redeem their rewards and all was well then.***Updated to add: I was able to talk to a manager. I am still not happy with the way things played out. But the company will rectify the situation by bringing out dice for my kids to pick from.Employees should not be yelled at for difference of opinion. Medically backed or not. Its fine,lets see,it has a lot of card games most shops dont use or play anymore like force of will tournament that have but in exchange they dont have the newer end of cards games like cardfight vanagurd. However they do have digmon products just it always goes.

We stopped by when we saw how great the reviews were and were really happy that they had a great selection of older games and minatures. To be fair, we were there for maybe 30 minutes and in the beginning the employees were very welcoming and happy to talk shop and help out. I found a few older minatures in the case that I wanted to get and my husband asked one of the employees to open in for us. He was incredibly respectful to my husband, yes, sir and right away boss. When I showed him the first minature I wanted he got it out and showed the price to my husband and went to hand it to him to see if he liked it. I said it was for me but the employee would only let me husband actually hold it and played keep away when I held my hand out. He asked my husband, If he was sure he wanted her holding something so expensive when I was standing right in front of him. Up until that point I had been enjoying myself but it made me feel incredibly unwelcome and I ended up just leaving while my husband finished his transaction and not buying anything myself. Based on the reviews, I didnt remotely expect that type of behavior and its unfortunate that they feel thats acceptable.

I’ve given this place several chances, the staff are rude and even if they were not the customer service is extremely poor. I have never had a good experience here and today did it for me. In Illinois we opened up fully today and the mask mandate was lifted. I went in to make a couple of purchases immediately receiving dirty looks from the staff because I did not wear a mask, after picking a few things out they then decided that I needed to wear a mask even though I was maintaining my social distance from other customers and minding my own business. An employee walked up to me and asked me if I needed a mask, I politely told him I didn’t have one and he said he would get me one, I then told him I was about ready to check out, once again politely. He responded in a not so kind tone that all patrons are required to wear masks despite the lifting of the mask mandate and he would go get me one, before I could say another thing he turned around and went up front. I put my things back and politely told him I did not need the mask on my way out although at this point the politeness was not warranted.This is one of but many negative experiences here, I will under no circumstances be purchasing anything from red raccoon again, I was about ready to place a size-able online order with them as well and after them being rude about the first order I placed a couple years ago I do not want to give a place like this my business.I would highly suggest anyone in the central Illinois area to avoid this place at all costs and purchase online or at another store under different ownership.

A staple to the Central Illinois tabletop community. They have really wowd me over the past year with the precautions and measures they have implemented to help prevent the spread of COVID while maintaining a fun, friendly and very welcoming environment. The staff are experts, without being condescending. They make getting into tabletop gaming an easy, enjoyable experience and help customers from quickly becoming overwhelmed with the slew of extras, expansions, and non-essential additions. They also teach and help players understand the basics and never try to oversell or force things a player wont need or use. Highly recommended for any novice looking for their next hobby!

This place is Uh-mazing!!! You can rent games before you buy them, play tournaments, get free tutorials and they have a constant stream of new games. All the paint and figurines you could ask for plus a super friendly and helpful staff. These are gaming professionals.

So Ive been visiting boardgame stores for years and I can, without a doubt, say this is one of the best stores Ive ever been to. The staff was amazing, attentive and knowledgeable without being overbearing. The selection was out of this world. I absolutely loved this store and even though Im not from the area, I cant wait to come back and support them!

I love going to this place, its always clean and easy to navigate. I also appreciate that they have customers use hand sanitizer when they come in and the other hand sanitizer areas throughout the store. This is a nice locally owned business with a wide selection for various ages. If you are a board or table top gamer you can generally find something of interest to buy. The staff seems fairly knowledgeable and friendly. They can generally give you some game ideas for everyone in your household. If youre a local this is a great place to start. You can also check out games to try from their library. If there is something your looking to buy not in the store check with the staff and they can probably order it. Note some of the top games can be a little pricey. Check out some of their game tournaments or learn to play events.

Had an absolutely horrible experience here. Took trade stuff in (not an amateur to the trade value scene on used cards) called ahead let them know I was bringing trades used tcg online to know a rough quote of what I had. They had me leave my 3 trade binders and a large deckbox of rares at the front counter and directed me to wait in the warhammer section and they would get me when they were done. I did not know these people so every ten or so minutes I checked in still no answer on an amount they had a large pile of cards they were interested. Finally they gave me a shockingly low offer for 40+ cards for $78 store credit I declined and said I would just purchase my item. Then the kid at the counter says heres one of your binders, Ill have to go find the other ones after some back and forth he told me they had sent my other binders into the basement (currently off limits to customers ) with other employees to go thru them. I was shaken and upset WITHOUT MY CONSENT OR PERMISSION, They had separated my collection and whisked them away to an off limit section of the store claiming it was cool we do that here. I was very upset and said to give me back my cards and another employee starts arguing with me from the bottom of the stairs that one of my binders was full of just $2 rares and they sort bigger collections than mine (one of the binders taken into the basement was full of nothing but commander staples legendary creatures and dual lands) . And kept assuring me I could simply look in my binders and see if anything was missing I thought I had walked into a professional business not some back alley broker. Also took the top 10 cards from the stack of rares to a shop in springfield and got $95 store credit. Im sure they dont care of they lose my business but if my review can keep one person from walking into this store than its worth it.

Red Raccoon Games has a good selection of board games, tabletop games and trading card games but the staff have become overbearing. Be prepared for multiple employees to come up to you while browsing to make suggestions or small talk after already telling staff members that you dont need any help.

Nerd paradise. I love it there the staff is great and their gaming selection is huge. From warhammer to magic to dnd to pokemon and all of the board games in between. We make an excuse that we need more dice just to see everything else. This comes from a house hold able to give a full set of dice for a 12 man dnd session plus multiple containers for d6s and a full bag of assorted dice.

Great place to get games to rent or buy! when you rent a game, the money you pay to rent it is deducted if you decide to buy it! they also have curbside pick up now.

!!!!WARNING!!!!!cannot speak for the physical establishment, but I ordered a booster box and it was tampered with. card seals were re-sealed and shrink wrap was poorly done cards were even damaged, scratches and bent. reached out to the staff about the issue I was told I would receive a call back never heard from them again. extremely discouraging would not recommend for booster box purchases.

This store is fantastic! Great selection and the employees are very helpful and knowledgeable. They drop what they are doing to answer questions and explain a game in depth. They also make great recommendations based on a description of other games you like. The game rental section is a fantastic way to try out a game or have something new for a game night.

Staff were friendly and courteous when I went there for a pre-release event. Truly one for the players. There different events give anyone the opportunity to feel included and try out new interest and hobbies. Their tournaments had a cheap buy in and were well run!

Mistook this in my journeys for another store so I wanted to make sure I properly reviewed the place. Great atmosphere, which it has had for years. Good selection, having most of what i was looking for. The basement area for gaming is well lit with plenty of space. Staff was super friendly the two times I was there. I dont know when Ill be back that way, but, if I am, its a must stop for any Magic player or board game fan.

Avoid if you are a warhammer player there isnt much too see. Many other items have the same mark up as the online secondary market. If you try to squeeze a extra $10 out of me on a popular release I will just order my stuff from Zeeks.

Not only do they have an amazing selection of games, but they always have games out to demo. Red Raccoon is one of the best shops in Bloomington. It is full of fun, unique games and tons of accessories. The staff there is clearly very nerdy, but in an endearing way. Theyre all very helpful. The fact that you can just play games there is also awesome.

Red raccoon games is hands down the best gaming shop I have ever been to. The staff is beyond helpful. They also go that extra mile to make sure you got what you are looking for. They helped my wife and I make DnD AL s9 characters even though they didnt have to. Jesse has been very helpful in answering questions as well when we stop in. If helpfulness could be determined on a twenty sided die, they would roll a Nat 20 and critical for how much they care for their staff.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!Discovered this local store in Fall 2016 when a friend told me about it. I loved it! Huge board game selection and the owner, Jamie, is very helpful! Whenever Ive called, hes been helpful as have the the employees within the store. You can rent games for a % of the cost or play them at the store. If you decide to purchase them immediately after renting them, they allow you to use that % of the rent towards the game purchase. I love supporting local so every time I had a game to buy, I bought it here. The owner helped answer my questions about which board game might be the best to play if you have a friend out of state.Now in June 2017, Ive moved out of state and just went to 2 of my new local board game shops. Walked out saying I miss Red Raccoon Games! All of that to say, when Im back visiting my hometown, Ill definitely be stopping in!

We are fortunate to have such a cool store in Bloomington. Red Raccoon has so many different games and are constantly getting new ones in - board games, card games, party games, you name it! The fun thing is that you can demo or rent a game to try before you buy. Ive spent a few hours playing various games in the store and never felt pressured to buy (though I did). The staff is also helpful and knowledgeable. Jesse was to make gift recommendations for my nephew. I dont know what young boys like, so this was really helpful 😁

It has a really relaxed atmosphere with tables upstairs and downstairs to play but the store has plenty of space to browse. They have a huge shelf of demo games you can try and even do rentals so you can try before you buy. Worth making a trip to Bloomington for.

Had such a great time at this game shop. We came in with our rowdy toddler and no one scoffed that we were trying to constantly round her up. Everyone looked like they were having a wonderful time, talking about games and various rules. Lots of people were coming and going and some were sitting and learning how to play a game. We will DEFINITELY be going back.

Red Raccoon is still head and shoulders above any other board game or RPG store for miles. The staff are helpful but not pushy, their selection is large for the size of the store. And they go out of their way to be involved in the local community and hold regular events for all kinds of board games , collectible and miniature games!

Went with my family and was immediately greeted by the amazing guys that work there. They showed off some of thier kids games and really captured my kids attention. We are huge fans of Red Raccoon!

My husband and I visited Red Raccoon Games for the first time on Saturday and what an amazing experience we had! Their selection is fantastic and we saw so many games we never knew existed. Best of all was the help we received from the staff - someone approached me while looking at a game and offered to teach us how to play it! They have a huge library of games people can try out on one of the many tables available. It is so much better to have someone teach you about a game ahead of time! What brilliant customer service; we were very pleased. Well definitely buying our games here from now on!

By far the most well stocked game store Ive found in Central IL. Swung in here to see if they had a plush d20 for a friends kid and they had options to choose from. Definitely a lot going on here too with painting contests, D&D summer camp and gaming tournaments. Very friendly staff too.

Great selection! One of the better game stores around. Would be a five star but poor customer service drags it down. Have been treated pretty poorly by a number of employees. The exception is one employee who treats everyone extremely well and is the main reason I come back.
