Please save yourself the headache. They do not know what they are doing.I took my car in to get the radio fix. They charged me over a 1,000 dollars. My radio still not fix. They told me they did all they could do. They keep my car about a month. Just go some place else.

Went In to get wiring done for my subs.In my truck I only had for two months and barley drove it! Wasn’t anything wrong with my vehicle prior to taking it to RickWood! Rushed job was done for one and when I went to pick up vehicle it stopped wrkn! Had to get a tow truck to bring vehicle home.called the next day to let them know and was hung up on. I proceeded to travel back to the location in my second vehicle. So call Mgr (Eric) was VERY RUDE!! He said he didn’t even remember doing a job for me on my vehicle because he pops so many pills!!! ( his exact words to me!) long story short spend over $1000 In trying to get the truck working replaced parts and towing included only to take it to the dealership and find out RICKWOOD DRILLED THRU ALL MY WIRES! Causing everything to malfunction and not wrk and was told because of that I was lucky it didn’t burn!! Clearly someone there didn’t know what they was doing especially by running my wires thru my headlamps as well! Of course they already know I will never ever ever return for them for anything!

I’ve taken my vehicle here two separate times: the first time, I had new front speakers installed. When I got my car back and began driving it, I noticed a rattling in the door. It’s not my speaker so they did something when they were installing the speaker that has caused this very irritating noise. Second, when I took my car back to have a new radio installed and the noise to be evaluated and fixed, we left the car the entire day, and when we came back to pick it up, it hadn’t even been started on. We waited a few more hours to have them rush the job, scratch my dash so bad that it was sickening, AND the noise is still there and annoying as ever. When I asked the owner what was causing the noise he said, “A piece of plastic was causing it.” Okay, that seems simple enough to fix? But he didn’t. I doubt he looked at all. Would HIGHLY recommend not taking your vehicle here. My dash is ruined.

My experience at Rickwood Radio:-Called the day before appointment for confirmation and re-quoted me 25$ more than he had said during our first conversation. I didnt mind, I had heard they do good work.-Dropped my car off and didnt hear back until I called 30 minutes before close asking for an update. Mentioned that they could not install the supplied headunit.-Heard a tapping noise when driving off. Removed car lining and discovered they just LEFT all the wiring in the car meant for the headunit without telling me.-When I went to return the headunit that didnt fit, I noticed they didnt give me all my wiring back. I called back to ask for the wires and was told that I will receive a call shortly. When I never received a call, I drove back and was given all but 1 set of (speaker) wire because they had just thrown it away.When trying to explain all this to the manager, I was met with nothing but resistance, rude remarks, and constant interruption. When the conversation elevated into an argument I accepted my fate and walked out.At least the amp and subs they installed are working great. Thats why they get 2 stars and not 1. If he apologized ONCE for the myriad of mistakes I would have given him 4 stars as we all have bad days, but NOPE.

They are only open 9-5 Monday-Friday which makes it very difficult for working people to do business here. Called on Memorial Day when I had off to make sure they were open. Drove 45 minutes to get here and they have closed down for the day. Was trying to get a factory radio repairs, guess I’ll just go to Best Buy and get an aftermarket, which they could have sold me if the factory repair was too much. See ya!

If I could give this company a ZERO I would. The manager is extremely rude. I called this place to make an appointment and they told me to wait 2 weeks to being my car in. I waited and when I brought it in the service I received was HORRIBLE!!! I will leave reviews and make sure EVERYONE I know and connected to knows about my experience here. I told you “MrManager” I was NOT the customer you wanted to give this type of service to! I am a manger in customer service and instead of you focusing on trying to fix the problem, he was more focused on being RUDE. I asked for someone over him and he told me there was no one and that he was the highest boss. I then asked for the owner and he told me I couldn’t speak to the owner and would be directed back to him and that I could leave. I left there and went to another audio shop (which I could’ve done 2 weeks ago) that was so professional I didn’t want to have my radio repaired which cost less than $50, I bought and entire audio system and had my windows tinted!! “MrManager” work on your customer service skills, because “US customers” is what has keeps you in business and I would never hire you to run mine!

We had a wonderful experience with Rickwood Audio. I was able to get an appointment to have a stereo installed the next day. Everywhere else had at least a 2 week wait. Eric, was not only very knowledgeable, he was also very personable. He walked me through the process and patiently answered all my questions, even ones that didnt pertain directly to the cars audio. I would recommend Rickwood Audio to anyone.

Had a backup camera installed in my car. I had debated about it for a while and finally decided to go for it. Eric answered every question I had about the camera, how he would install it, etc. He truly probably answered them twice with as many times as I called. They were extremely professional and left my car clean, like no one had been in it other than me. Definitely will be a return customer.

I have been there twice, each time for my teenagers 16th birthday present. Eric is amazing he knows how to make a teen happy while staying within the parents budget. The systems sound amazing and have had no problems. This is the only place in Birmingham to even consider!

They were nice and personable. They fixed my radio which lost power quickly and I dont feel like they took advantage of me (someone who knows nothing about cars).They cracked a part of my dashboard when doing the diagnostic and offered to fix it and didnt charge the Diagnostic fee because of that. They fixed the dashboard for free when they fixed my radio.They are officially my new place for my car radio/power needs!

Provide a verbal quote then when discussing what it will cost price changes now that they are working on your car. Tell you it will be done in a certain amount of time then when asked how much longer you are told a time and still isn’t ready. All in all I will never come back here told about 4 hours and it took twice that

Special thanks to Eric and Allen for helping me with my oldschool 81 Malibu. As old cars go someone had chopped the wires all the way under the dash and I had no idea where they were, It was a mess. Well of course these guys dug them out installed my new radio and got me out in record time. They have ALL of my future business and I suggest you give them yours. They are the best to do it. I have an Infiniti G35 on which the control panel for the radio and heater/AC stopped working, due to a failed audio finisher circuit board -- a problem common to that model. Rickwood Radio understood the issue, had fixed others, and were able to repair mine for $800 less than a dealers not-so-great solution. I also checked with local independents, that were clueless. So, I drove from Atlanta to Birmingham, and Rickwood fixed the problem and got me on my way quickly. It was worth the drive over and back, and they did a great job.

Alas, there are businesses that still make the customer know that they are in business for the customer and not the sales. I have had the delightful experience of dealing with Rick wood Radio,the sales and technical support are, in military terms OUTSTANDING in all aspects of repair and knowledge, no wonder dealerships send them their business, If any one has the technical knowhow, then Rick-wood IS THE PLACE to get service and sales, at a very fair price...My family showed me that the customer is WHY a business is in business, Rick-wood is absolutely the best in my opinion, and I hope that this letter I wrote about them is nothing short of fair and honest people that take care of the customer, I should know, I deal with people everyday, as for the business, this one is awarded 5 stars with no reservation to it at all, I wish them the best now and now on... This place is a joke. They will tell you Any lie they can to get you to lock in a deposit... oh ya this is definitely the problem... not. Oh and we have no clue so oh well to the large amount of money you put down when we promised it would be fixed for this amount.... Convenient location. Nice air conditioned customer area... fit and finish subpar, made adjustments without consulting me and didnt do adequate research for how my system works. Made me feel like they would be able to handle my unique motorcycle install. They Could not. Will have to pay the $2k installation cost over to get it done right...some of th issues simple common sense. Engine noise, not secure 2nd battery tie down loose wires. I am sure they are good at what they normally do. But if you have an outside the box project look elsewhere. I know I am.

A disappointment. I went in on Friday October 22nd to pick out a radio. The following Tuesday I dropped and got an Uber to work. Around lunch time I checked to see what time to pick it up and my car hadnt been touched. I got an Uber to get my car and was told Id get a call before Friday. I didnt get a called so I called and was told one thing so I reminded them of the conversation. I showed up the following Tuesday and asked if theyd ever scroll le me and they said I thought you were gonna get my brother to do it. They said my number was disconnected, theyd lost my business card and was busy with classic last week. Gave my info again this past Tuesday with a promise to call. Its Saturday no call. Keep in mind Ive paid for everything already and got the radio but not installed yet.

Save yourself. Week 3 with promises of a call top install my radio with excuses like they had the wrong number, they were busy with magic city classic and last week were one man short. Still not even a call, I hate I even purchased the radio now.
