There is a new guy in the deli from NY. When I tell you he was pleasant and patient (we know NYorkers are not known for that). He has only been there for a month but he is on his way to greatness.

Clean, well stocked, with helpful employees. It doesnt have as much as larger publixes that are further outside of the heart of downtown, but it is still a great place to shop!

Always have a great chat with someone working in this store. Didnt find what I needed but enjoyed the conversation. It feels like the farmers market of my childhood.

The customer service is superb. Clean store with a selection of items I like the parking deck so glad to have a midtown store.

The space limitation here changed the feel. Our local Publix was a bit nicer and had a better selection. I didnt find several things I was looking for. The store was clean and employees were nice as usual though.

Great store! Quality and service is what you expect from a publix. Be ready to park on the second level of a tight parking deck. They include mirrors to help see around some of the treacherous corners

I get some staple groceries here frequently as this location is closest to work and home. 90% of the time they’re out of everything I get. I’ve mentioned their weak stock multiple times and nothing ever increases. You can go to literally ANY other Publix and they will have what I need at any given time. Only reason I didn’t give 1 star are the cashiers who are so sweet! But will have to stop shopping there if this stocking issue continues and I am in this Publix 3-5 times a week.

They need another store iñ this town to give Publix competition! If youre a senior on a fixed income this store is horribly expensive even for anyone its really expensive! Its the only store in this city and they charge as much as they want so be prepared to put down a chunk of change if you shop here.

I love walking into this Publix off the streets of the city. Downtown was a desert when it came to groceries for so long that its refreshing to be able to have a regular grocery store within walking distance of most places when I visit the Ham.

Convenient clean easy parking. Food always fresh. Fruit is always fresh cut and delicious. I love this store

Only Big supermarket brand which is close to almost all places in Downtown I know, and they have all the products but are obviously pricier than Walmart.

Love going to Publix As long as Im here on vacation. Id go there every Sunday to take my uncle for his groceries the store is very nice and clean the deli food is always hot and ready and outstanding wish we had a Publix in Junction City Kansas .Linda Clark

My first visit to a Publix in a more urban environment. This store is not as big as some of the other Publix I have shopped. I liked it very much. Although it may be a bit smaller, the layout and design give the feeling of a more open, expansive store. Everything was well-kept, neat and stocked. The Publix team members I encountered during my visit were cheerful, helpful and friendly. Parking was an issue, for me. I think it may not be an issue for people better acquainted with the area since the store itself seemed rather full. The deli was popular. A small crowd had gathered around the deli area and seemed to enjoy the wafting scent of deliciousness as they waited for their orders or browsed the selection of prepared food items. Check-out was quick and easy. Shopping carts dont leave the building. A good thing to keep in mind while filling your cart. My overall experience at this Publix was much like any other. Clean, neat, well-kept store, friendly, helpful employees and all the same deals I get at my usual store. I am very pleased to see Publix locate a store in an urban setting where it can be difficult to find good quality, decently priced groceries.

I love this place! My only hang up is the people that be sitting outside begging for money & I just be trying to sit down cheat on my diet with my 2 pastries (apple fritters the bomb) & pint of whole milk! Lolol! Kind aggravating, have ppl looking at everyone that sits out there as homeless & begging!! Only hang up I have, but the Publix within itself pis an extraordinary place! I love it!!

This is located conveniently downtown but they are really small and Ive seen other Publix with more items! But I love this location.

The young man at the deli was not friendly. I had to say excuse me can you tell me how much for the sweet potato fries. He said he will have to weigh my chicken breast and fries in the bag. I asked could he give me a container. I know food can be weighed in a container too. The other customer food was automatically put in a container. He looked frowned up. When the other customer came up he was greated with a smile. I felt better once I got to the nice young man lane he was closed he still took care of me.😀 I had a blessing to take place at the register 😊 and I blessed somebody else🌹❤️. God is good all the time. Kindness goes along way ❤️

Once I figured out the parking and elevator was very pleased. Its in a downtown location so parking is in a deck. Also they open very early 7 am. Thats convenient for someone that works nights at hospital in downtown Bham. They are open when I get out of hospital.

Publix is one of my go to stores. Conveniently located on the Southside of downtown Birmingham. I love to shop for bargains and their buy one get one free items saves on my pocketbook.

Clean, covered parking, nice staff. My only problem is that theyre smaller than most Publix so they some of the products you can find elsewhere. Also the Deli can take FOREVER sometimes.

Poorly stocked and the wait for a sub at the deli is always long. I love Publix but this store just doesn’t meet the quality and service I’ve come to expect.

Store is limited in options and aisles are not well organized by food type. 1 star is mainly due to deli section not being efficient at all. I was waiting for a pubsub for 30 minutes last week. this week there was no line however a rude sub maker (Nicolla) hastily threw my ingredients just on the middle of the sub in one pile. she was not friendly at all.

They have their own parking deck and see-through elevator that takes you to the main floor. it’s got a big selection of food and the inside is very clean.

Produce usually looks very good especially the watermelon 🍉😋. Also, I love how they almost always have cookies for my children since they always ask, lol. Good hot food from deli, and rarely a shortage on items that Im seeking to buy. A pretty well put together store in a central location!!

Always clean and plenty of registers open so you can get in and out at a reasonable time.

Best fried chicken Ken and always has fresh fruits and vegetables. Accessible to the many communities around downtown Birmingham

Foods seem to be over priced and staff really dont care about the customers wants. They are hospitable but when you have issues they dont meet your needs our care about you getting your monies worth

I called in an order for some hot and spicy wings the manager over the hot food told me that I would need to get them off the hot bar. The reason I called in is to get fresh Wings cooked. When I got there there was no wings cooked at all

First time going in here. It was very clean and fully stocked. Staff was very helpful and friendly.

They wouldnt fill my newphew prescription. Because I would not give him the money for it at register till I knew how much it was. So they assumeded he was up 2 no good. And they was so wrong. Pharmacy part doesnt even deserve 1 star.

It is a bit smaller than other Publix stores but the selection of items is still very good with a very friendly staff.

This is the ghettoest publix in Alabama. And the staff are rude. This might as well be a walmart.

Well I took a friend there for the first time for her to visit at Publix she was thrilled she spent about $100 she was extremely happy Wednesday I took her home she loves that public in downtown Birmingham the people there were so nice and helpful they really were a genuine people who continue care about it shoppers that come in their store My hat goes off to you Publix downtown Birmingham what a wonderful place to go

The shopping experience is ok. Its a regular store but their deli department is severely disorganized and it often times can have 15 minutes waits. It is Especially frustrating when you are in a rush and store employees are literally doing nothing and staring at you. Definitely my last time at the deli department.

This location is always my quick stop, when in Birmingham, to pick up my quota of Buffalo Rock and Grapico. 😄 Well inventoried store which is clean too. I really like Publix!

This experience happened today on August 13, 2021 @ 8:30 am. In Brimingham, AL. Store # 1512. @ 230 30th St. South Brimingham, AL. 35233. Ive been shopping at Publix for years decades to be exact. And I’m currently in a location in Brimingham, Al. And I was in the checkout line the cashier told me that I was only allowed to have one cup of ice. I have for years shopped at varies Publix’s in the south and this is the first time I have ever been told that I could only have one cup of ice. I was told that there wa a cup shortage and that was the reason. I was also told that people come into this location and get multiple cups of ice with out making a purchase. I don’t see what that has to do with me. When I am indeed making a purchase. So the cashier follows me other when I said I was going to talk with a manger. As I’m talking to the manager she rudely interrupts my conversation with the manager. I told them that I would not be making any purchases form this location. I don’t understand why this store has the discretion to only allow one cup of ice per person. I find it funny that they are making such a big deal over a cup of ice. So I guess they would rather I not make a purchase because I was told that I could only have one cup of ice.

Its small, but its very well organized and very convenient in the middle of the city.

Pharmacy department had my meds ready quickly and the pharmacist was helpful in answering my questions on some new meds I started.

Im not sure about the grocery store part but the ppl that work in the pharmacy are rude and inconsiderate! I was just released from hospital after my surgery and got there 15 mins before closing time and they told me my prescription would be ready in the morning 😡😰 it was only 1 prescription for pain meds Dr gave me after undergoing a Big Surgery! So I had to find somewhere else.i wasnt from bham n could Not wait till the following day!

Grocery cart wheels will lock if taken out the front door. Park in garage so that you can push your items in the cart to your vehicle.

Publix Midtown is the peoples groceries store. PPL come from miles surrounding metropolitan Birmingham from east, to west, north, and south of this growing Metropolis. In 2015 as part of the redevelopment of Downtown 20th Street corridor, this vital grocery hub become the go-to for the UAB-Birmingham Gator colligate population, and their sister UAB Medical Center lifesavers. Great size Publix with a large amount choices for product category that you are searching giving you several brand as well as price point choices.

Lots of customers who were not wearing masks. The workers in the deli had their masks under their noses. I was concerned about ordering prepared food because of that.

It seems odd to have a store like this downtown, but it totally works. Its not quite as large as other Publix locations and the the aisles are a bit narrower, but its still a great shopping experience. Im still not used to shopping carts in elevators though lol.

Not sure why the food is higher at this location than other Birmingham locations. Example: Salmon fillets are 11.99lbs here and 8.99 for the same at another location (the one off lakeshore). You can see they visibly clean the baskets and carts. There is any area to get clean baskets which I appreciate.

Bakery was terrible. They Never called about the caked I ordered if they was able to do the cake. I had to called two days later and they told me they wont be to able it. SMH!!!

Cool supermarket in the middle of downtown. They have apartments to rent above the store and a parking deck for all. Neat concept.

It was okay but they did not have enough people working in the deli also they did not have any Mardi Gras wings and that was a deal breaker because I passed by the Montclair store just to come to that one downtown to shop an get wings

I like it there fresh good quality food

The store may be convenient if your downtown but I honestly I rather drive 10 miles out of my way to go to another Publix. Deli super under staffed, lettuce was not fresh, tomatoes were dried out, they only had Italian bread which they should get rid of because it is beyond hard, dry, and disgusting. However, I felt bad for the guy at the deli so I took whatever bread was available (Italian). The deli is overly packed again with little staff. I honestly think the store manager should spend more time in the deli helping his staff then walking around. However, the Publix in Hoover and Trussville are amazing and I will drive out of my way to go to them than this store.
