Had a good selection of crystals. The Crystals were definitely over priced even with 50% off. I got 5 tiny crystals the size of my pinky for $11. I will not be going back to The Silver Otter to say the least.

There are two locations in Bend, both very nice. I have to say, I really enjoy the Downtown location the most. It has a different vibe and feels a little more eclectic while the other feels upscale higher end . There is no difference in the quality of product, I feel this is location based. And if it is, its a pretty ingenuous way to set up shop. The vibe matches the location.Its been a while since Ive bought a stone from a shop due to the fact I like to purchase at gem shows. But, when you find a rock that wants to come home with you... You cant say no.This little gal zapped me as I want to put her down! So she left the store with me. There are a ton of unique finds at the Silver Otter. Highly recommend a visit!

40$ mystery bag was so awful we couldnt stop laughing. 120$ value was a straight up lie😅 it was like 7 tiny crystals/rocks and 2 strands of craft beads. Like if I payed for them in store they would be cheaper than 40$ 🤦 so shady.

Very cute little shop! I lived that they had wrapped crystals that they sold chains to. Also picked up some hand carved elephants. Great spot for christmas shopping and helpful staff.

The woman behind the counter was extremely unwelcoming and unhelpful. When I entered the store I was in a great mood. When I left I had a bad taste in my mouth. Save your money for a business that values it’s customers.

They wouldnt serve me because I did not want to put a mask on my 4 year old. The mask mandate does not require masks for children under 5. Ridiculous. And in response to their untrue reply, I agreed that the 2 older children with me could put on masks (even though I have good reason for not having them wear one) but the lady at the counter specifically said that my 4 year old needed to wear one too even after telling her his age. Then I asked So you wont serve us unless he wears one one too? She said no, she would not. That is what happened.

Absolutely love this shop, the crystals and the employees bring such great energy to the whole process of picking your gifts! Will be coming back again :)

Amazing collection of stones and gems. We loved the information sheets describing each stone’s function. It was helpful when finding stones corresponding to the healing aspects we were looking for!

Excellent selection! I’m a geologist, and usually find many mislabeled or misidentified minerals in every rock shop I go to. I only found one here, and it’s a very common misnomer that really only bothers geologists (hypersthene =/= black moonstone). Very cool shop, very friendly employees. I would for sure come back.

I came into The Silver Otter yesterday evening for the first time. I should have checked it out months ago! I have been buying crystals online, but its nice to actually see and touch your items. There are so many beautiful things, and the staff member was very helpful in assisting me with creating a pouch of stones for my mom who was just recently diagnosed with cancer. She even hand wrote down what each crystal does and why its useful for cancer patients. There was a small shop dog there to greet customers. I love when local businesses bring their fuzzy friends! Definitely stop by this local gem!

Hi Dory, thanks for your response. I am visiting Bend from Virginia, and particularly sought out a shop like yours because Im a gemstone and silver lover. I was in your shop Tuesday afternoon, and browsed around for a few minutes to see everything before I made a decision on a purchase. I was greeted upon arrival with a lukewarm hello. After browsing for a bit, the person working came out from behind the counter and into the shop area. I looked around a bit more, then asked if there were any smaller rings, as I needed a size that is not common. I was given a short no, we dont have many and if so they are mixed in with the others. First, I would think a shopkeeper would know where those items were in the shop, and would have been much more helpful to a potential customer. Secondly, I felt like I was being treated like a potential shoplifter rather than a potential customer. I left the store, and decided to make my purchase elsewhere.

Wow! I really appreciate the service I got at Silver Otter last night. I remembered at the last minute I needed to get a bday present for a friends party and it was so easy to stop in and find a perfect bday present. The selection of healing items and knowledge of the staff are top notch- and the gorgeous store pup was the icing on the cake. Thanks for being open in the snow and providing the perfect present- a one-of-a-kind rough cut amethyst ring!

While the store has some decent jewelry and great stones, the customer service is terrible. First of all, the employee working barely said hello when my daughters and I entered the store. Then, as we walked around and looked at things, she just glared at us and I got the feeling she was looking at us like we were shoplifters, especially my daughters. My girls tried some rings on and the employee acted like they were a nuisance. It was obvious we had intentions to purchase things and I would have expected the employee to be friendly and engage in dialogue. It was a very uncomfortable experience and I was totally disappointed in the employees behavior and rude demeanor. I spent $98.70 in the store and having spent a lot of money there in the past, I knew they had a punch card, so after I paid, I asked the gal if they still did the punch card. Seems like something an employee should share with customers when they spend money, but nope, I had to ask her about it. She acted put out by my ask and then said, do you want one? I said I did because I didnt have my other card with me. She only gave me three stamps, one for every $25 spent. I asked her why she didnt give me the fourth stamp and she said, you didnt spend $100. At that point I decided I will never shop in there again. I spent almost $100, I was $1.30 away from $100. Wouldnt you want to honor the customer and the large amount of money I just spent and give me the fourth stamp? She was rude and after spending my hard earned money in there, I left feeling terrible and wished I never spent a dime in that shop. I support local businesses as much as possible because I am a local, I grew up in Bend. But I refuse to spend my money in a store where greed and rudeness outshine solid customer service and kindness. Such a bummer. I dont recommend spending your money in this store unless you enjoy being treated poorly and you like to spend exorbitant amounts of money on overpriced items.

Great small shop in the Old Mill District. The atmosphere is great and the staff is friendly. Everything is really pricey though.

Such amazing products im always nervous when checking out new places wondering will it be worth the stop well this place is WELL worth the stop. Delightful staff wide range in products. I was so over whelmed in a good way my husband had to pry me away i was able to walk away with a handful of stones i really wanted and didnt have in my collection for such an affordable price. I will most definitely be back i love how they offer a tray to load up stones with and a mini paper with the rock that identifies them so i can show and explaine to my kids when i get home 👌👍
