I have used these guys for nearly 10 years. They always do excellent work. There has been a time or two I had to take my car somewhere closer to my work but I always regret it and usually end up taking it to M &B to fix it anyway. They tell you what needs to be fixed and what can slide - they never try to sell you something you dont need. You can drop off and pick up anytime which is a huge benefit. I know of no better car repair place in Central Texas.

I am so thankful for this shop. My car broke down on 35 on my way to San Marcos from Dallas. I had my dog, all my stuff, and I was worried how long it would take to get my car back. I had someone pick us up, and got my car towed to M&B. Rick was so kind and helpful the entire time, and got my car done quicker than I could’ve ever expected. Their customer service was incredible and I am so lucky I found them! They had great pricing, and made sure I had all their contact information if I had any more troubles while I was down in San Marcos. Thank you M&B!

I heard about M&B from policyholders years ago when I was a State Farm adjuster in Bell county. I used them for all my personal car needs for years until I moved an hour away. I recently got a quote from a shop in my area to replace 2 wheel hubs and sensors for about $1,200. I wasnt sure about the quote so I traveled to M&B and got the work done for $1,000 PLUS had 2 brake pads replaced, wheels rotated, and oil change included in the lower price. I started with them because of their honesty and great customer service from Shane and Im glad I went back.

If you are in the Belden area I highly recommend M&BFull disclosure : I own a Auto Service facility in Plano, TX.Last week my daughter was moving from Dallas to San Marcus on Sat. Her car lost all power on 35 near Salado and she called me, and then arranged to have her BF come get her. I found M&B on goggle and liked their reviews so I had it towed there. The owner Rick called me Monday and said he would do his best to fit it in but they were very busy. 8 hrs later they called me and they found the problem, they said they understood she was not from the area and had to still drive it another couple hrs to San Marcus. They suggested keeping it over night and driving it 40 miles to be sure she would have no other issues, they did and she arranged to pick it up the next day with no issues.In my opinion M&B customer service is 2nd to none, in addition their expertise in finding the root of a wiring issue quickly resulted in a more then reasonable price.Bill Mertz, Owner MasterTech Auto Care

Update 29AUG2019: I was struggling with the purchase of a used car that has new and unfamiliar sounds from underneath, and could not get the steering as smooth as I would like. Rick was instrumental in assuaging my fears that I bought a wrecked vehicle. Rick and The service writers have been serving a Belton for a long time, and I value their opinion. While the car was in the shop having a window motor replaced, they looked the car over, drove it, and determined that I simply have some stubborn tires that need road balancing to smooth the ride. That may not seem like a big deal, but to me, it was a huge help. I just needed to know where to focus my efforts. As you read my original post, I hope everyone picks up on the value of having a quality mechanic and reputable shop sort out any issues if troubleshooting is required. This shop is much better at troubleshooting than any other business I patronize. I try to keep all of my business local, and I appreciate the local business that donate used, but not used up equipment to the local high school. This shop is well known for supporting the high school automotive technology facilities. They are not open weekends, and they can get back logged during the summer, but they are worth the wait. One reason why M & B won’t be the least expensive, is the quality of the parts ordered for your vehicle. Quality parts helps to ensure longer service life of a repair, which will save you money in the long run. The best analogy I can give you is fast food; there is a reason you can buy a fast-food burger for a buck... it may satisfy you for the moment, but you will likely “pay” for it later on. I never have a problem at M & B; I’m not going to have heart-burn over a repair later on.Original post: This location offers automotive services at a good value. They are not the least expensive, but they are efficient, which saves you money. A big thumbs up to Rick for researching items for my Mustang. My recommendation is to drop your car off the night before it will be serviced. Mechanics often appreciate a cooler motor and exhaust when working on a vehicle, and having the car on hand allows the mechanics to efficiently manage the work load. I have never found it necessary to return a vehicle to M&B for a warranty repair. Everything they have fixed for me has stayed operational. I make every effort to keep my vehicles in good operational condition, and when I cannot perform the tasks myself, I look to M&B to make the repair or perform the maintenance. To reiterate; though the shop rate at M&B may be higher than some other locations, M&B is much quicker with troubleshooting and makes good repairs, which saves you money.

My experience was so great!! They were quick, efficient, knowledgeable, affordable and honest. I had been given several quotes for a brake job on my van and they showed me where I was being taken advantage of and did the work in a fraction of the time for a fraction of the cost I was quoted. They are worth the drive!!

Ive used M&B several times now for service. Im continually impressed by the level of professionalism. Services are explained in a manner which is understandable and billing is transparent. As an added bonus its been great to work with a locally owned and operated business that still puts the customer first. Schedule your services in advance as this location is popular and can be busy.

This shop makes everything easier, even if you are only able to deal with them over the phone and not physically be there on-site:Had a vehicle that would not start - used roadside service to take it to M&B, thinking even if it was only the battery, that M&B would still be able to service the vehicle.Rick told me over the phone that he would try to get the vehicle in same day - definitely came through! Sure enough, Rick calls me, and says, I checked the alternator and everything, and good/bad news is you only need a new battery. He dropped it in within 30-minutes, and vehicle was ready for pickup.I am strongly considering taking my vehicles to this mechanic, and would definitely go here again.

I called because I was needing to get our truck inspected and I wasnt sure if M & B Auto Repair, Inc. did inspections. The guy was really nice but no, they do not do inspections.

Sweet talkers but they overcharged me and did not let me know in advance of their charges. $98 just to diagnose the problems and $78.40 to pump Freon in the A/C.Double the cost of my usual repair shop on West Adams. The transmission was also in a worse shape than when I brought the truck in. Although I needed a lot of repair on my truck, I was probably right not to allow them to do any more work on it.

Recently I had to have some engine work done on my truck, something that would easily have taken a week at the dealer. They got started right away Monday morning, called me a few times throughout the day to keep me updated, and had the work done by the end of the day Monday. They were very honest, too, which I appreciate very much. At one point they called to let me know that they had made a slight mistake in pricing and that it was actually going to be about $200 less. They could have just pocketed the difference and I probably wouldnt have realized, but they didnt do that. Next time I need some work done, Ill be happy to take my business to M&B

I have been to several places in Bell county over the last eight years looking for a regular mechanic for our families vehicles, and after much trial and error someone finally told me about M & B Auto. These guys are honest, upfront, and straightforward. I have been going there now for about four years, and I couldnt be happier. I originally found out about this shop through our Nextdoor app where your neighbors recommend businesses.Unless youve been blessed, finding a close, honest, knowledgeable and reasonably priced mechanic is a gift. Dealerships are great, until that warranty is up.The shop has been in business since 1985 and they work on all makes and models. Easy to find...right off the freeway. My experience was great. Made an appointment online, given a quote after their inspection of the issues it was handled at a reasonable price. I would definitely recommend M & B Auto Repair.

I have used a lot of Auto Repair shops and M&B by far has been the best. The staff is great to work with, but what I love most is they are honest about the work they do. They only do what needs to be done to fix the car. I will give you a perfect example. My sons 2004 F-150 was slipping. I thought it was the transmission so I took it to Oliver Brothers in Temple. He told me it was the transmission and need to be rebuilt. $2800 later truck was still slipping. In the mist of arguing with Oliver Brothers over the repair I noticed the truck needed new brakes. I took it to M&B to have the brakes done. I briefly told M&B about the issue with the transmission. Turns out one of the U joints was bad. They fixed it and the brakes. If I had known that M&B also did transmission work I would have gone their and not Oliver Brothers. I feel like I got I paid $2800 for a transmission rebuild that was not needed. The short of it is you cant go wrong taking your car into M&B for repairs.

I live out of state and was buying a car from a dealership in Belton. I called M&B to see if they would check out the car for me to ensure it was in good condition. They charged me a very fair price to take a look at it, were honest about the condition, and didnt try to talk me into service repairs that werent necessary. Really appreciate their help and honesty.

I dont know anything about cars, and I cant fix things. But someone who does know a lot about that stuff recommended M&B to me years ago, and I have been a happy customer since.Ive taken them simple problems, complex problems, and really stupid problems. They have always provided great results, and have always been honest, up-front, and service-oriented.I try to schedule ahead of time when I can, but several times I have needed urgent service, and they have gone well beyond expectations to save my automotive bacon.Prices are very fair, particularly for the high quality of service. I put my car in on Monday to have my Prius Hybrid engine replaced . By Thursday morning it was good as new and at a reasonable price for the amount of work that was done. I will definitely go back anytime I need a complicated job done right.

As you walk in, theres a massive sign that says something like there will be a service charge applied for diagnosing a vehicle. So, keep that in mind on the bad review below.Theyve done great work on all 3 of my vehicles, they always price fairly and always do great work. Ive never had an issues with them and Ive been to them quite a bit (old 1994 f-150 with over 250k miles.)You can trust these guys.

Ive been looking for a mechanic in the area and prefer to work with small shops, so when I got this recommendation from a friend I was excited. Unfortunately, the experience didnt live up to par. I asked the first man if there was a fee to look at the car and he said no. When I went to pick up the car, a second man was only too happy to hand me a bill for something they do for free at OReillys and laugh in my face when I asked why I was being charged. You expect it to be free, he said, Weve got to pay the guys something. I understand that--I too expect to get paid for my work; however, if I tell someone I will do a job for free, I dont turn around and hand them a bill and a condescending smile. I paid the bill, but I wont be going back.

My oil was scheduled to be changed, on the way there my car started clanging & losing power. When i got there they fixed both, explained how & what they were going to do & did it for a very reasonable price.

Excellent customer service!

These guys have gone above and beyond the call of service for me this year. After a debilitating blown engine I thought I was stuck in the gutter, but I was blessed to have M and B Auto literally save me thousands of dollars in impound and service fees. You can not find another company who will help you more than these people and I cant thank them enough!

I took my car into this shop “ 7 “ yes 7 times for my car. The very first time was because of a grinding sound from the engine. They replaced my tensioner pulley and said we were good. Drove it for about 3 days and it started squealing SO loud. Which was not the original problem. Took it back in and they said my power steering pump was leaking on my belt causing it to squeal. They changed it out and sent me on my way. Caught in my car and it smelled like they had sprayed something on my belt to stop the squeal. Car was flooded with fumes like crazy. 5 days later, back in the shop for the squealing again. They changed the belt and said it may have been a bad belt. Again a few days later it’s squealing again. Took it back again. Mike looked under the hood and even said that the pulley was sticking out to far. Left it there to have fixed and then wait for it, 6 days later back to squealing. Called them and Shane told me he has nothing intelligent to tell me. I took it to another shop and they stated that the idle tentioner pulley was bent. Shane was very rude about it and changed the entire tentioner assembly. Problem still happened. Went back to the other shop and they stated that there is a known problem with the mounting bracket on the after market tentioner assembly that needs to have a certain mount put in to push the pulling back more because it is off set and is causing the belt to squeal and putting a lot of stress on the engine. Well guess what, now my radiator has a hole the size of my thumb caused from all the stress. I informed Shane of the issue and he told me he is not going to work on the car anymore. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE AT ALL!! As I’m sitting here writing this review there are 3 cars in here getting fixed because of their mess up. One is in for a new clutch that was just supposedly changed a couple days ago. It was never changed but they sure did take their money. Again, do not go to this place at all.This is regarding the response that you just made on my review.The sound that is happening never started until you worked on my car. I never had a squealing of the belt or anything of that nature until you fixed a grinding sound. And of course I was never charged with the hundreds of dollars of stuff you put on because it never solved the problem. So why would I pay for something that wasn’t even fixing the issue. For all I care you could’ve taken new parts off and put my original parts back on and taking your new parts back because it wasn’t my issue. I will never be back to your place of business.

First thing is they told my wife and I we needed new front wheel rotors and brake pads. Luckily I took it for a second opinion and they were fine. Second thing is they were very rude to my wife when she went to go get the car. When she asked to talk to the owner, it was the owner who was rude to her. Ill never take my vehicles to them again.
