I had an excellent experience at J&B and look forward to returning. There are several options in the area for firearms, ammunition, and accessories; if you have not yet been to J&B, I enthusiastically encourage a visit.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. They have great customer service. Their pricing is reasonable. You may end up spending a little more than the big stores online, but you can get it today and its worth it for the customer service. They also get a lot of used stuff and they update their Facebook page with those items. I would rather shop here than any other store in the area, even though theyre further from me than a lot of stores.

I have not purchased from J&B, only consigned, so if youre looking for buying experience, this isnt the review for you.I consigned a firearm I no longer wanted. The process was very straightforward and simple. I brought the firearm in, they assessed the condition and value, explained to me the terms and I was out within 30 minutes.2 weeks later they called me to come pick up the check. Cant get any better than that!

Told them what I was looking for, was recommended a great rifle and I feel like I got a really good price. If I plan on getting anything else I will definitely be back.

Bought four 20 round boxes of 9mm Winchester silver tip JHP from these guys in January for $40 each, and each box had about 4-5 rounds that were severely deformed and were clearly unsafe to load/use. If it was one box that’s one thing, but the fact that all four boxes were like that makes me think they knew there was bunk ammo and they were just trying to make a quick buck. Shady practice in my opinion. Definitely would not recommend and definitely won’t come back.

Today I visit this place because I always like to support my neighborhood gun store. When I came in these guys right away by the door asked me what I am looking for with the tune of INTIMIDATION plus this big DOG barking at me. Why are you guys open when your customer have no chance of browsing your product. You guys are opposite compare to Northwest and other store close by. Maybe the way I look? Hopefully nobody will experience what I feel to this store.

I went in today to sell an unused Ruger semiautomatic pistol and to buy a 38 special. I do not have much knowledge of the overall market at this time; and I was informed about the difficulty in acquiring a 38 special and the value of my existing pistol. Helpful and patient staff while shopping for a new gun. But very small selection compared to other stores, even amidst the increased demand. But I still bought at j&b. big mistake.When I called them about a horrible gun they sold me, that jams every third round with rattle can magazines, they didnt even offer to take a look at it. They just said send it back to the factory.I would think they would be a little more helpful for $750. Especially since it looks like I will be buying another gun to replace this horrible lemon with 2 round capacity. Wasted money and time.Ill be going anywhere but here for my new gun.

Nothing but good things to say about the folks at J&B (yes, both men and women). I am a first-time gun owner and all the staff have been helpful, patient and understanding. Not a hint of snobbery, etc. Just wonderful. My interactions have included both direct purchase of a fire arm as well as NFA and having the shop act as my FFL. I never felt any pressure to buy from them vs online and was never given any grief about purchasing elsewhere.

I walked into this shop looking to buy my first 9mm handgun. I was looking to see if they had any Glock 19s. I was told that every one and their mom and grandma was looking for a Glock 19 and that I wasn’t going to be able to find one. They also told me that their was a waiting list for them but I was not offered to be put onto it. The two employees looked at me like I was crazy for coming in looking for a 9mm that is a popular gun. I then asked about a few budget guns like the Stoger Str-9 or the Taurus G3 to see if they knew if the guns were any good and they looked at me like I was talking about aliens. I felt nervous walking into the shop as a young new gun buyer and walked out feeling weird and like I was a burden to them. I will not be returning to this shop for my future firearm needs.

Good selection of modern style weapons. If you prefer wood to carbon or plastics then you won’t find a lot here. The prices are acceptable and they carry 77 grain 5.56 which hit harder than green tips. Over all a good place.

Unfortunately, I have to leave a bad review. I have purchased two firearms from this dealer, a lot of AR parts and magazines, and planned to continue to do so.However, I decided to register for their concealed carry class about 3 weeks ago. The class was scheduled for today and I showed up on time, ready to go. . .only to find out that the class had been canceled.I did not receive a phone call, or voicemail. No notification whatsoever that a class I had pre-paid $90 for, was not going to take place.The employee offered a simple apology and asked if I wanted to reschedule to next months class. No, I do not.He then asked if I wanted a refund. Yes, I do.They processed a refund to my debit card, which will take 2 to 3 days to post to my account. (I guess thats not their fault, but I would have appreciated my money back for the service they did not provide, immediately.)I had to take time away from work and family in order to take this class today. Now I will have to go find another class, and probably wait another several weeks to take it. The impact is more than the amount of money refunded.If you cannot fulfill a promise, dont make the promise. Or, at the very least. . .call and get me on the phone to tell me not to waist my time.Obviously, Im disappointed and angry.I gave two stars, instead of one, because the kid working was polite and seemed embarrassed. . .and it probably wasnt his fault. So he gets an extra star.

Didn’t have rifle accessory in stock so I ordered it (prepaid) and was told it would be there on a particular day. Item doesn’t show up, which left me in a bind because I had made plans to use it. Staff then didn’t want to refund money for item that didn’t show up on time but offered store credit which I used for different item.

These guys are great! Very patient and knowledgeable. They let you hold whatever you want. No pressure to buy. They dont look down upon you just because you dont make a purchase. For these reasons, J&B firearms wins all of my business over Portlands other gun shops.

Built a quality rifle for cheaper than I could have from buying the same parts online. The deal I got also included a free bag and magazine. These guys are friendly and the owner is awesome. Prices for drop in upgrades are a little higher than online, but if you factor in convenience and shipping, its probably about the same. Havent had anything worked on yet but Im sure I will when I need it. If youre looking for AR15 parts this is THE place to go.

I have purchased two firearms from J&B. During both transactions the employees were very friendly and knowledgeable. Their prices were the best around as well. A couple of days after I purchased my second weapon, I (stupidly) created a malfunction that broke a retaining bolt spring. I took it in and they replace my screw up and didnt accept when I offered to pay. Long story short, amazing customer service. These guys are the real deal and my go-to gun store. Ill be purchasing my wifes new weapon here as well.

After being disrespected at a gun show and walking away from a sale, I decided to call this shop to see if I had the gun I was looking for (its an esoteric brand). They were extremely polite and said they couldnt find it, 5 minutes later they call me back and say they just found a distributor who had it and they had a great price on it. I purchased today a brand new Greyhound Tactical AR 15 BADBOY. These BADBOY is build from scratch to a high powerful assault rifle, hands down. I am new to gun ownership and very inexperienced. I was at first intimidated to enter the store and shop for a gun.. Fortunately the guy who helped me was very friendly and patient. The really took the time to explain everything to me and gave me advice on how to choose a pistol. There was no sales pressure which is huge for me.. I do not buy from high pressure sales reps.Even though I have yet to pick up my gun (application delayed even though I only have a trespass from 28 years ago?) I realize this has nothing to do with J@B. I will patiently wait to pick up my gun and will definitely make future purchased at this store.

Best of the Best - Ive shopped and bought firearms locally for years. Northwest Armory, Gun Broker, Cabelas, etc. all OK, but nothing special. I was shopping for a hard to find Kimber Micro-9mm in earth tone w/ Crimson Trace. One dealer said they had one, but didnt, and couldnt even get one. J&B advertised they had two. I called and they set one aside even though I had never shopped there before. Great folks, great service, and a nice discount on a firearm no one else was able to get. J&B is my go to gun shop from now on.

Went in because I was visiting a neighboring store and wanted to check the place out as Im currently looking for a firearm. Due to an old injury combined with a recent reconstructive surgery I have trouble operating slides/bolts/etc so Ive been looking to pick up a couple revolvers instead, which I find easier.Walked in the front door to find that I was apparently the only customer, they had two guys standing behind their counter, one was fiddling with the register, and the other was flipping through a magazine. Neither so much as acknowledged my presence until I spoke saying Hi, do you guys carry revolvers?Nope, sorry.......Uhhh, okay, you guys do order stuff right?Yeah.......At this point I just walked out without saying another word, what terrible customer service. Neither guy even looked at me for our entire super awkward conversation. Guess they just wanted an empty store all afternoon.

I spent a large amount of cash with them this week only to find out that the barrel and other things i bought where over priced...i could have and will in the future buy on line or find other sources. When asked for a discount to replace an item that was not in stock the young man said no its an election year and parts are scarce (bs imo) they would not even give me a discount on an ammo can that they had over 200 of when i asked. The can is rusty and stinks. I wont be going back. Also the staff seems disorganized and flustered when looking for parts and prices.Follow up on 03/02/16Well I spoke with with brad the owner and he told me he did not like and or agree with my review. He wants me to change it but I wont change my review. All brad wanted to do was explain to me why he charges so much.

They installed them incredibly loose evidently then blamed me because i didnt have video proof showing what happened?!!This was the worst customer service I have ever had after spending hundreds and hundreds at this shop!! Asinine! They said I need to buy a new set to replace it with my own money. Bs. I will never go here again and will be posting this review on all review sites and gun collectors forums. J&B only cares about $ and not keeping the customer happy.I run my own business and if this had happened I would have replaced the part for free with hefty apologies on the shotty work. Just bad business as I planned to spend over $6000 on a gun soon and they just list that sale.
