Ive personally purchased 2 cars from Lewis Ave auto. Both cars were great. Very few minor issues. Which is to be expected when purchasing a used vehicle. Not sure why people on here are leaving bad reviews for these guys. If you want a car that is in perfect shape you should go get a brand new one. But if you want to save 10 grand or so and still get a quality vehicle I recommend Lewis Ave Auto.

My experiences with Lewis Avenue Auto Sales have been GREAT. ONE OF THR VEHICLES, I BOUGHT WAS A 2002 TOWN AND COUNTRY VAN, OCT 2016, AND THE VEHICLE IS STILL RUNNING. AND ITS A RIDER!! I bought a car there about a week or two ago and for one the owner; Russ was not nice at all, very unapproachable. Never came to talk to me about the car like a real salesman should have. The engine light comes on after 2 weeks and I found out the car needs a timing chain kit fixed. I notified Russ and told him but he acted like he didnt care and couldnt help me even thought he told me he would try to work with me if anything happens even tho there is an AS IS warranty on the car.He told me I shouldnt sorry about the engine light unless I had to take it for emissions which wouldnt be for another year and that the mechanic I took it too just wanted to sell me something and theres nothing to worry about the car and eventually hung up on me.

I bought a 2007 Ford F150 low miles in good shape and no issues I would highly recommend Lewis Autos to friends good people to work with and I’m planning on purchasing my second vehicle from them

I bought a 2001 jeep from these folks... 6 days later the transmission went out... got 2 estimates from other places and then took it back to lewis auto sales. I had to pay them $300.00 and got it back 1 week later after they put a used transmission in it just for it to break down again and leak transmission fluid all over in middle of highway... called them and they had me call someone else! I even asked them to take this vehicle back and let me pick something else and they said no!! Worst place ever to get a vehicle from!!! I would not recommend buying a vehicle of any kind from these folks EVER!!!!!!

2nd time I purchased a vehicle from here. Always get great service and price here. Know lots of others that are just as pleased with the service they received.

I dont See why people have bad reviews for this place. I bought a 2011 impala police package with 92,000 miles for 5,500$ and it has no problems! Ive had it for about 4 or 5 months now.

Absolutely horrible service! This place sells dangerous vehicle that should be junked instead of sold to an unsuspecting customer. The wheel axle to a recently purchased car broke WHILE DRIVING. Tony, the jerk that assured the vehicle was inspected and, road ready, told my sister that the repairs were not his problem. Thank goodness that the roads werent busy, otherwise my sister would have gotten into a serious, even life-threatening accident. My recommendation is to stay as far away from this place as possible. Youd honestly be better off on foot.Follow up: the owner, Russ, is just as much a garbage bag as Tony. Rather than show some empathy for a terrifying event, he was flippant and totally dismissive. I stress, DO NOT go to this place.

I have bouggt and traded cars with Russ for 20 years. Buying a USED car is a risk you take! Ive only had one issue ever with any vehicle i bought and THEY paid the 600$ for the repair and the $100 tow charge. For all u people calling your lawyers illinois has NO lemon law. They are not required to disclose any malfunctions in the vehicles they sell.

BEWARE. They will sell you a car without even inspecting them. My friend purchased her car and not even 2 full days later a plethora of problems started to show and they only fixed the minor problems for free but said it would cost $1500 to fix the major problem. Please beware of this place. Had I been with her she would of never purchased the car. If you are not familiar with cars and still choose to do business here please bring someone with you that is experienced with auto mechanics or you will be sorry!!! The owner is extremely rude. He insulted me for PROFESSIONALLY asking how would he handle the issues with the car. The employee who handles most of the paperwork RUDE. Don’t NOT shop here! Or you’ll be out of $3000+!!!

I brought 2 vehicles from this place (had an accident in the 1st one, the reason for 2) & never had a problem. We had an issue with something, but they rectified it & made it even better. Im surprised at the older bad reviews.

Giving them 1 star is being nice. The cars they have there are junk. I had a truck for not even 2 weeks and it fell apart. My mother in law got a van that is now junk. And several other family members got cars from there that have not lasted for more than a year. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!!

I HAD TO CONTACT MY LAWYER TODAY AND WE CONTACTED AND FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU. The owner is extremely rude Ive had the car for not even a full month and it broke down on me now theyre being rude and nasty demanding I pay the car not when I dont have possession of the car. HORRIBLE BUSINESS I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS TO ANYONE EVER! Russ the owner will be expecting a call from my lawyer! Disgusting sales people I work in customer service and I would never treat my guest that way. I will take this to court its been less than 30 days and theyve had my car for a week. Im taking my business elsewhere. If you buy a car from them good luck paying a cab for weeks.

Worst place to buy a car

My mother recently bought a car there while I was out of town and the car has tons of issues from bald tires to weird engine noises. Best advice for anybody purchasing a used vehicle, whether from here or another business, research the market for the avg price of the vehicle you are planning on buying based on the miles. And ALWAYS go to a shop you trust and purchase a PPI(pre purchase inspection) for all the used vehicles you plan on buying, even if the car has low miles. Use anything you find on the car to make an educated offer on the car and not take what they say all too serious bc at the end of the day, to them youre just a number.

SCUM. These people sell shitbox cars to good people. Contacting NBC5 Chicago, Better Business Burerou, and a lawyer. Sold my girlfriends SPECIAL NEEDS brother a vehicle with a SALVAGE TOTAL LOSS title, with incorrect odometer readings, accidents, and the list goes on. By law they are required to state on the bill of sale that the vehicle has a salvage title which they did not. Spoke to the owners son and he refuses to help, was very rude, and says thats not how their business is run. They charged him $4200 for a vehicle worth scrap value. No REAL dealership would ever take this in on trade.

Ive known & done business with Russ & Tony for over 20 years, Ive brought many friends to buy cars from them and never had any real issues with the cars purchased, in the rare times that there was a problem with the vehicle, they promply rectified it by repairing the problem or gone as far as put me in another vehicle. People have to keep in mind the cars are pre-owned and clearly states on each vehicle as is no guarantee however theyll do anything and everything to resolve any issues with the vehicle purchased. If having a financial problem, they will do whatever they can to help the customer.

I hate the car I bought... I had a job interview at Niles and it completely broke down in the middle of the highway I could of died in a fatal car accident since everyone there drives 60-80 mph. gladly, nothing happened to me and I was pardon by my now boss, but I will never trust their cars.. ever! Bad service, experience was horrible...

They sold me two different cars with out evening having the title to both of them it was there way in keeping me in a car note. Took both cars and continued to put on lot knowing they didnt have the titles. They added money to my car note saying I still owed them $2,000 after I finished paying and would not give me my title after I paid. They said I still owed $2,000 witch was a lie in proof of receipts. They had different paper work newly written that was not the same as mine. Refused to give me my money back. It they keep trying to take my car. Every automobile was garbage. Put a lot of work in money Into the cars they did not ha e the title for. For them to turn around and resale them for more. And I never received money back. I lost over $6,000 and ended up with no automobile. Working on law suit.

Don’t bother car wasn’t even driven for a week when it overheated... repaired the problem and a week later in wouldn’t drive for more then 10 minutes because it will die out of nowhere.. take business elsewhere

This place is a shat hole. I stopped to look at a few cars, and 1 out of 3 actually started and stayed running for around 5min. The guy I spoke with was like what do you expect from a 10yo car for 5k. Considering Im paying cash, I expect the car to at least run for more than 5 min. The dude laughed
