There was music in every corner. I found some great albums & learned about a few artists I’d never heard of from the owner. I’ll be coming back.

Best record store I’ve ever been to. This place for the crate diggers. People who have an extensive knowledge of music will really enjoy it here. I understand how it could be overwhelming for some it could be in this store, but this place has everything. All the deepest cuts are here. Not to mention the owner is an awesome guy. Lovely place.

Spent a day bouncing around record stores in Baton Rouge and this one was my favorite. Both people working the shop were helpful and patient. Hell make you a deal if you buy things in bulk! Has a particularly impressive collection of box sets and old school video games. Definitely a place to support and re-visit.

Avoid all times. They were threatening me. Records are all damaged and overpriced. It smells like humid. You could catch covid by simply walking in. Do not trust these people for a second. Bunch of uneducated low class people with no manners or respect.

It is cramped, it is haphazard, but this place has some absolute gems if youre looking for records that span all genres. New and old rock, r&b, jazz, new wave, good selection of classic hip hop.

Love, love, love this place. You could spend all day in the store and still not see half of the selection of old and new titles. From new and old LPs, compact discs, DVDs, and video games, if you are looking for it, chances are it is (or was) here. In addition to the impressive selection, the proprietor, Victor, has an encyclopedic knowledge of multiple genres of music and he is easy to engage in conversation about titles/artists you are searching for. Finally, this store is always well stocked for those special Record Store Day titles that you may be looking for to complete a collection. I am so glad that Baton Rouge has a record store that harkens back to the glory days of my youth. Additionally, I am always pleased to spend my dollars supporting locally owned businesses that offer a unique customer service experience that you seldom find in a big box store.

Probably the biggest record shop I’ve ever been too. It’s honestly overwhelming to see all these albums and diverse records they have.

Ive twice visited The Exchange - window shopping the first time, picked up a couple of albums my second time through. Yeah, the place is a bit chaotic, yeah theres stuff all over the place both in and out of the store. Yeah, the proprietor (Victor) is a gruff old cuss and a man, generally, of few words. So what? If youre used to vintage, antique or thrift stores... if youre used to rummaging through piles of whatever to find that one nugget at yard and/or estate sales then youll feel at home at The Exchange. If you, on the other hand, require glitz and polish and want your arse kissed, this probably isnt the place for you... go support a shiny, well lit corporate big box store. Me, Im gonna do the local thing... dust and all.

Maybe its just because most of the music wasnt my thing, but it just feels like youre going through an old storage unit that someone just threw records and cassettes in. A wide selection is only valuable if the store is organized. Theres so much stuff that theres records in boxes outside. Id also like to state that the owner did not acknowledge me. Capital City Records is the place to go. I guess this stores thing is to look like a blight on an otherwise up and coming neighborhood.

Excellent place for those looking for vintage music, videos/box sets, video games and equipment. The owner was highly knowledgeable about all genres of music and helpful to those less musically inclined. All in all, its a great place (and way more affordable with way more choices) than the gone, but not forgotten, Atomic Pop Shop. A good place to check out in mod-city.

Took my first visit there for record store day....u can LITERALLY spend hours in there with LOTS & LOTS of merchandise to search through...staff is very friendly n helpful...very informative...definitely will be making a visit back

This place and the guy that runs it is amazing, one of the most unique stores in Baton Rouge, meets virtually all your old school gaming needs, fair prices on purchases and trades. Plus the vibe and music in there makes for a very chill atmosphere, allowing you to search at ease for whatever fulfills your music, movie, or gaming needs. We love this store!!!

I have to say this spot was interesting, I visited on record store day and I luckily found a Fleetwood Mac Tango In the Night LP, I had no luck at the other two stores I visited with finding it,i also found a random Wu Tang instrumentals album that I didnt even know that was on the rsd list..so I was stoked. The store needs more space, its very crowded that was my only thing, I wanna go back and dig more for sure, plus I saw a bunch of cool vintage video games, I didnt browse too much cause my girlfriend was waiting in the car...downer.. so I didnt even get the full 9.. there was tons of stuff. I feel this place could be something special and is something special, just a bit of polish,more space to organize a bit and its a 5 and my vintage and music spot.. The owners were super nice as well and I would honestly help them organize for some games and records, just cause I feel this place could be a gem and I love to help local all day.

I had trouble finding this place in the beginning but now I know exactly where it is. This is going to be my new spot for CDs and DVDS when I come to BR from Lafayette.

Tons and tons of choices. Huge dvd and blu ray selection. 1 of each on display not 10 copies of a few movies. Fun To hunt and search for what you want .

Came in not too long ago and the owner was super rude and refuses to work with people on price. Never a good sign to treat someone who wants to give you money for something. Did not seem enthusiastic to talk or converse with customers. Bad store, go else where.

Chill little shop for music and games. Their prices on used LPs and CDs are hard to beat, and theyve got a little bit of every kind of music you could want. Owners are some cool people with great music taste as well.

Picked up a rare Joy Division vinyl here. The store clerk was a rad old dude that knows his stuff.

Great place for the lost ability to shop at a record store!

I went there and i had been to the old store on florida and i was excited to dig through some records but i walked in the door and the owner said, “you can’t really come in here until we get these (records racks) out on the sidewalk.” But he said it a bit exasperated so i just left and i’m not going back.
