Like most local grocery stores, the prices are a little steep on some items. However, I appreciate the quality of their produce and their deli lunch options. They have some of the most beautiful produce. The deli lunch options are reasonably priced and have a variety of options to choose from. Ive, also, on occasion found some packages of well cut lean meat there.Most of their staff is friendly and helpful.

Roberts Fresh Market on Highland Rd is poorly managed and does very little to train employees. The level of mediocrity is obvious.I contacted the store recently about an item and was told twice that it was available. After driving across town I discovered that it was not available. The hot food bar and staff are another disappointment. Hopefully, Mr Robert will make some changes.

They took my favorite beer out of the cooler. I sent an email complaining, and it was back in the cooler in less than 24 hours. They really take care of their customers.

As far as grocery stores go, this quaint little market is a tad on the pricier side. The store has a distinct Louisiana flair and they carry just about anything and everything that a hungry Cajun would want (food-wise) all at one convenient location. There are also some cute Louisiana-themed gifts that are great for a last minute present for someone. CCs Coffee Shop is also located inside.

Was a pleasant experience. Store was clean, well organized and well stocked. Cashier was polite.

Great place.Has a lunch buffet with some a llittle too salty) fried fish, sausage and all the usual mix. I had fish, sausage and chicken. All good.Grocery selection is wide. And affordable, to those minded folks that call it Roberts and think French enunciation means pricey.They have high end goods that are more affordable than the Marts (and some brand names that are not).Whooever they get those pralines from, mm mmm good.Staff are awesome.

Just recently moved to a neighborhood thats very close to this store. Ive been here several times and I love it. They have lots of specialty items and high quality stuff that you dont find in other stores. Also very conveniently located. They have a bakery and a meat counter deli. They also even have a sushi station where sushi is made fresh daily. We also have a hot items deli counter and a salad bar that includes several specialty items as well. Highly recommend checking this place out. They also have wine specials every weekend.

Nice place, has most everything you need. Meat quality is good and they even have items like whole beef loin. Good wine and beer selection as well, but didnt see any hard liquor.

Robert Fresh Market has quality items and produce for a local mart. While prices may be slightly more on the expensive side, you are getting your moneys worth. The meats section is very well done and the butcher(s) will assist you in choosing the type of cut youd like on display.

Excellent local market, with good quality prepared foods, meats, & a good variety of other sections/departments. One of the few groceries with produce sections where weve found tomatoes that actually have a tomato smell, as opposed to the odorless/tasteless variety in larger stores. Also, senior discount day, & other social considerations. Worth a visit!

I shop here often because its very convenient and close to where I live. I never have to wait in line and can get in and out quickly. However a lot of their boxed items are overpriced.

Smaller market. Clean and fresh produce, meat, seafood and bakery.Nice staff. And 10% for an LSU employee/student. Bonus!

I love this store. Its always clean and the employees are always friendly. The prices are a little high on some items but the atmosphere makes up for it.

Im looking forward to the renovation being finished. Right now, things arent looking too pretty. By fall, things will be bright and shiny.The store belongs to an independent grocery consortium. Prices for consortium supplied products are reasonably priced. They have been bringing in more products that are not from the parent company which are far more expensive.I have found the people in management to be responsive and friendly.This store is a mile from my house. Im looking forward to the renovation to being done. If I can do the bulk of my shopping just down the street. Ill be really happy. When that happens, Ill reassess my review.

A hidden gem. This store is a full service grocery, with a coffee shop included. Their produce is excellent, they offer a full range of products like any mega chain, and there is never a line at the register.

I was a loyal Roberts customer at the Robert E. Lee store, and so happy to find Roberts was in B.R. when I moved here last year. BUT PLEASE SEND SOMEONE TO TEACH THEM HOW TO COOK SEAFOOD. The boiled shrimp and the cedar plank salmon are like seafood jerky---salty and dry. Just awful--ruined some beautiful shrimp.

Offers a wide variety of foods. Very clean and everyone is courteous. Have a hot food bar, salad bar, fresh seafood, bakery, a knowledgeable butcher, exotic cheeses. And a wonderful wine selection. Price represent the high quality of food.

Stopped in to pick up some ribeye steaks they had on sale. They have some awesome quality meat and with the sale excellent prices on Prime. The store is clean and the staff friendly. All in all, a good experience.

As soon as I walked in and approached the produce section, I was impressed with their selection. The employees actually seem very happy here. The construction is on the outside of the customers. 4 stars not 5 because their prices are high. I will come back for sure.

Its a very nice looking store, or will be once they are completely done remodeling it. I was impressed with the fresh fruit and vegetables area.Although they didnt have half of what we were looking for. That could be because they look like they have at least another month before they are done.

Very nice place to shop and LSU students and faculty get 10% off. They had the nutritional yeast i was looking for.

Roberts Fresh Market is where the old Mathernes used to be on Highland Road. At the time of this writing they are open but still under construction. This means that from one visit to another you might have to ask where something has been moved to.But...they carry a good selection of gourmet foods and they have a great kitchen serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. They also have a gourmet chef on staff to answer any questions you may have about how to prepare a meal, what to serve to a gathering of any size and what the best the store has to offer might be. (Their hot-food line and grab&go sections feature delicious meals mainly prepared by Chef John himself.) Do your taste buds a favor and pay the new store a visit!

No one seems happy to be working there. Other than the lady whose only words were an obligatory have a nice day , not one of the 10+ employees that I passed even acknowledged my presence. Definitely not an uplifting experience.

If youre going to be open during a renovation you need to be willing to go the distance to ensure construction is adequately segregated from grocery operations. In retrospect, I didnt realize the amount of effort Albertsons, Walmart, and Whole Foods had put into this aspect of renovation until you see what a half baked attempt looks like. I cant say definitively that there are safety issues, but when you see chunks of drywall being removed on the same day that someone is wiping off dust thats settled on produce, you have to wonder. The plastic-sheeting curtains look questionable in terms of their installation, old sometimes mildewed (looking) fiberglass insulation hangs overhead amongst a maze of wires. Frankly, considering the price of their products, I expect more. Staff is usually friendly and courteous. Alcohol selection is impressive. And overall product variety is good. I look forward to revisiting after the renovation but I cant recommend shopping here in the meantime.
